This company never responded to my request for a quote.

I was informed during negotiations that they would have several workers in to temporarily patch the active leak, until the whole job could be done. They would come early or late around another local job so I wouldn't have to pay extra. When I enquired about this repeatedly i was told, well, they didn't have any jobs in the area just yet, Id have to wait or pay an additional $350. after two complaints about water pouring in during storms, they dropped the fee to 150, and came out to patch. It leaked again the next day. I said to put up a tarp, but they claimed that that would be useless since the leakage was in the "valley. (I still don't see that that should matter: find the original opening where the water gets in, and cover that!) They tried again and told me the issue was a plumbing lead pipe, and gave me the name of one company they used. He came out and swore that they were idiots, it would need him plus them to fix it ($512) they came with him a third time and said it was fixed. the next day it rained and leaked. the repair crew came again, found the "five nails they overlooked, oops, Im so sorry" and this time (the 4th attempt) seems to have kept the water out. But now I have water damage in my walls, ceilings and floors, a remediation company and a mold company pulling out parts of my bedroom floors, walls and ceilings, and the Roofing company still CANNOT tell me a projected start date, despite regular calls and requests. They have had my down payment since June 14. they have done no work. they have informed me that I am responsible for the removal of all solar water heating panels, all gutters, and screen pool cover detachments, and for any art (a venetian glass chandelier) hanging where it might be damaged. I cannot arrange for these items to be removed until I have some idea of when the work will commence. I have called and asked, and complained that I am not getting any responses. the office manager informed me that she was responding, that I just didn't like her answers. Well, "I don't know" isn't a response. It is a lack of planning, project management, and a lack of professionalism. If they wanted this job, they should be working on it. If they can't handle the work they've got, they should have told me when I explained that I had cash in hand, and wanted it done now. The very contract has ASAP written in their hand on it. This is the height of rain and hurricane season, i want my roof fixed. its been over a month. If they can't do it, they should give me back my down payment and let me hire someone else.

I called Earl Johnston Roofing for a repair and had a Super-Terrific experience from beginning to end; beyond a reasonable doubt they are tops! This company is top notch! This is the second time I use them. I had used them to repair my roof a couple of years ago and now to replace my roof due to hurricane Irma. They do quality work and leave the job site impeccable every day. I highly recommend them!

Earl W Johnston (EWJ) roofing was a model of exceptional service from start to finish. This was particularly refreshing in an industry notorious for fly by night operations. Everyone I dealt with has worked for the company for several years and the person doing the work has worked with EWJ for 22 years. They were not the cheapest in pricing but they were fair and came in hundreds of dollars below the highest pricing but had the highest quality work spec estimate of all (total of 5) company quotes we received and on a second flat roof over a large shed they saved us a $6k re-roof. The quote process was thorough and mike was the only one of several quotes to discover the technique used by the prior roofer had not compromised a secondary flat roof like all the other quotes said since the prior roofer had used glue not nails to secure the two by fours holding decorative tiles to the roof. This one discovery showed the level of diligence common in all my dealings with E W Johnston. The estimate appointment was easy to set up after a call with Lucy and done within 7 days. Mike showed up on time, was courteous and engaging, and took his time to do things right. The quote was the most comprehensive I received out of all the estimates and it included all their licensing and insurance information; mike also answered all my questions on permitting(btw you can see EWJ invests in its processes and people because they were the only company with tablets and a printer in their truck so my quote was printed). I also noticed the company trusts its estimators because they include the phone and email for the estimator on the estimate so you can follow up directly with them for questions; this turned out to be a key point in us deciding to award them the job because mike was able to answer my questions or return my calls (4) quickly compared to the other companies whose offices were not aware of the details of the quote or not invested enough to defend or explain the materials or process used in the quote. Can you imagine what a nightmare things could become during the job if you are not on top of things during the quote process? Anyway Mike was on top of things, did both, and was able expedite our repair within 2 days of calling to let him know he won the contract. There was some disconnect here and there with the office but mike kept things on track and returned calls(3) promptly to get me in contact with Walter their roof repair project manager. There was a steady amount of rain but Walter kept schedule by sending Glen and Tony who arrived promptly and had a copy of the contract. Glen validated the estimate was accurate with no problems by walking the roof again and going over the trouble spots in more detail; it was raining so I made a decision the day was just not right for doing the roof repair due to lightning so glen called the office and Walter agreed to reschedule for the next day. They arrived bright and early the next day which had no rain and got to work. Glen was fabulous to work with he was knowledgeable and engaged all my questions and issues; the answers I got from him were worth every penny extra I paid compared to the cheaper quotes. His assistant Tony was quick and hard working and he and Glen finished my two major repairs in 7-8 hours including taking up old roofing, cutting out old ply board, installing new ply board, Laying new subroof material, then applying GAF roof material which was not the new less quality, in my opinion, peel and stick GAF. They then walked the roof to replace broken and cracked tiles and waterproofed and sealed the edges of the flat roof and cleaned the leaves in the area they were working on at my request. These gentlemen were simply amazing and worked all day and didn't even leave for lunch due to them trying to beat the rain scheduled to star in the late afternoon. It' turned out it did not rain until the morning of the next day which was perfect. Overall this was a great experience and the work has a 1 year warranty. Also key is that the company has two departments one for roofing repairs and one for new roofs or re-roofing; this was a great decision and investment by the owner so repairs don't get lost in the shuffle. According to my estimator all workers are fully employees of the company and covered by their insurance which was important for us so if there was a problem they could find the person who did the work and have accountability. The company also seems to care for its employees which is reflected in how its employees treats their customers and thew work they perform.

I've used them at least 5 times. So far it went well. They did a repair twice on one particular area on my roof the year before last year and I'm still having the same problem. I shouldn't have to call them multiple times for one particular area. This is the third time I'm having the same problem on that particular area. The price is reasonable and I may use them again once they fixed the issue.

We initially had Earl Johnston come out to perform a checkup on our roof, and used the $100 roof inspection offer. The gentleman that came out (Mike), was on time and very professional. As it turned out, we needed to have multiple tiles replaced, and they put the $100 for the inspection towards the cost of the repair. Unfortunately, Hurricane Irma came through before we could get the repair completed. Fast forward 3-4 months, and Earl Johnston still honored the original quote for the repair. Their crew came out on time, was professional, and did a great job. We are very pleased and would definitely recommend them.

Professional, punctual, meticulous crew completed all work to the exacting standards of Earl Johnston, owner. Earl inspected the job site several times during the work. The experienced crew was courteous, worked hard, and obviously took pride in their work. Work was completed when promised.

I emailed 3 different roofers asking for an estimate on an asphalt shingle roof repair. Earl W Johnston was the only company to respond. A convenient inspection time was scheduled for me and Mike did a quick assessment and got me a price within a few days. I accepted the proposal, there was an opening in the schedule and the work was done within a week. As an architect and construction project manager myself, I am immensely impressed with the professionalism and responsiveness Earl W Johnston Roofing showed on this small repair job. I will definitely reach out to them for any future work and highly recommend them to anyone looking for a great roofer.

Mike and the others are Earl Johnston Roofing were excellent. Our final choice on quotes came down to this company and one other. While the quote from Earl Johnston Roofing included a couple of items which were superior to the other quote, the cost difference was just a little too much for me to justify. However, I'd be happy to reach out to Mike again for any other work I might have done. He was a pleasure to work with and answered many of questions even though he knew I was entertaining other quotes.

Extremely professional. Appointments are confirmed in advance, constant communication, and on time for appointments. Estimator took pictures to demonstrate issues,. Honest and reliable. I would definitely call Earl Johnston roofing.

Originally called and requested estimate weeks ago finally received a call setting an appointment up for a few weeks . Then was told they no longer did roofs on attached houses. No need for an appt . That info should be listed on their company information. Waste of time

The representative arrived on time and quickly assessed the problem. He made the minor and simple correction at no charge and was extremely courteous.

Running late, Mike was professional and considerate, calling to advise when he would arrive. Upon arrival, we immediately inspected the stained ceiling areas of concern. He then went into the attic through BOTH hatches and inspected, taking several photos which he shared with us afterwards. There were no indications of roof leaks but there were explanations. Mike then inspected the roof. When he was finished, he showed us more pictures, explained what caused the stains and advised that he had made several minor repairs that addressed the issues. Bottom line: we were fortunate not to have any major roof problems and just as fortunate to have Mike and Earl W. Johnston Roofing give us an honest assessment and professional service above and beyond expectations.

The crew was courteous and professional: On time, worked steadily over 2 days, cleaned up after they were done. Though we haven't had another extremely heavy rain since the job was completed (to make sure no new water spots form on our ceiling), the work looks good and I was impressed by everyone I dealt with. The company received some low marks from disgruntled homeowners because response times were slow after Hurricane Irma (duh!), but my experience so far with Earl Johnston Roofing was A-Plus. The 10 percent off coupon through Angie's List was a much-appreciated bonus.

Everything went totally as committed and planned. Everyone I dealt with at the company was polite and professional.

Awesome! The representative took photos of the roof and scheduled a time to come and install the new tile. He arrived right on schedule and completed the work in a professional manner. All of the workers were in company uniforms and were courteous. A couple of months after the initial repair, I noticed a water spot on the ceiling and called this company to come back out to determine the cause. Although I did have to wait a couple of weeks for an appointment, this was not an active leak so it was not an emergency. The repairman called to see if he could come earlier than my appointment which actually was advantageous for me. As on the previous call, he was prompt and courteous. He was professionally attired in a company uniform and introduced himself. He explained what he was going to look for and quickly returned showing me photos on his phone of the problem and how he had corrected it. He refused any payment for the service as it was a quick fix. I am very impressed with this company and they will be my roofer of choice!

The actual repair work went well. I will know better next time we have a heavy rainfall.

Once I reached someone on the phone , they were quite pleasant. The guys that showed up to my house also nice. The price was reasonable. But not a good job. The reason the roof started to leak in the same spot after put to the test after 2 months. Nobody came out yet to correct the existing problem I'm just placed on scheduling list. No time frame given or whatever. I had to spend money to have someone place a tarp over the existing damage roof because of lack of response / manpower. I am so sorry listening to my friend and used this roofing company as a referral. That is not good customer service.

Went well and work was performed on time as timely as things could go with rain on the summer. In fact started roof earlier then projected as soon as permit was approved in coral Springs
