Capital Air Conditioning

Less than a year ago we used Capital Air Conditioning to install a new AC. Last week it stopped working at 9pm, and we called them first thing in the morning. They were very responsive, professional and they respected the warranty that they had given us, so my AC was fixed by Noon at no charge.

Excellent price and service. There was a problem later that prompted a warranty call but promptly solved.

wonderful service. came the day after i called. checked our units out and it turns out nothing wrong with them. unfortunately one side of the house doesn't cool as well since the unit is located across the entire house but was very thorough and honest...didn't try to 'find a problem where there wasn't one'. very courteous and timely.

I had Capital Air Conditioning provide a quote for a replacement central air unit (both inside and out) when they provided an earlier service call in May 2013. At the time they had some special pricing because it was off season. In July I got quotes from 3 other companies and they were significantly more expensive, as well as wanting to provide several other services that they said I needed. I then asked Capital Air Conditioning for a new quote since it had been several months since the first verbal quote. They said they would keep the old pricing, so I told them that as soon as I could get the money they would be installing the new unit. On July 17 the capacitor on the compressor failed, and the unit would not start. I called Pete and he said that he would send a technician with a new capacitor and install it the same day. I had to leave for an appointment and turned off the power to the compressor so nothing would happen. The Technician came out in my absence and replaced the capacitor. On August 6 I called Pete and told him I was ready for him to install the new unit. We set up the appointment for August 8, 2013. The technicians arrived at 9:00 AM as scheduled, removed the old unit, removed the old plenum, increased the return air inlet from 14 X 24 to 24 X 24, provided new filter, replaced the connection from the air handler to the duct system provided a new hurricane rated cement pad for the condenser unit and put in a new properly sized liquid line. They got all the work done the same day and by 5:00 I had a new high efficiency system cooling the house. It is now almost midnight, and I have never had as cool a house since I bought it, and it is much quieter than the one that it replaced.. GREAT JOB FOR A GREAT PRICE. I would recommend this company to anyone that is looking for an AC company. They were a value on the first repair call and proved to be even more of a value for the replacement. I purchased their special on Angies List, and they came out, checked the system over and found that the TXV valve was not functioning properly. The technician tried moving the sensor to another area of the air handler so that even though it was malfunctioning it would work better. They provided me with a quote for a new A-Coil ( the TXV was not repairable, and the only way that they could do a good repair was to replace the unit). They also added freon to see if it would help, but did not seem to make a difference. I could not afford the new part at the time and they said as soon as I want to have it installed, all I would have to do is call and they could have the part and install it the next day.

Tech Gabriel was very nice and professional, explained everything that was done and even gave some tips for that I could do myself to keep my A/C running smoothly. I would definitely hire them again and will by first choice when I am ready to install a new A/C unit. Thank you Capital Air!

Contracted CAC to clean clogged drain line in my condo, first technician was unsuccessful at clearing the blockage, rescheduled another attempt for the following Saturday, Technician showed up pulled the FLP box mounts out of the sheet rock. He didn't see this as a problem. I asked him to leave, called the office and reported the issue. I called again during normal business hours to reach resolution. As i work during the week, i need the appointment on Saturday like the two previous instances or after 5 during the week, I was told the Supervisor doesn't work Saturdays. and 3-5 id the latest appointment I asked for a refund and was told no as services were rendered. The only services that were rendered were a/c sheet metal disassembled, drain line cut and FPL box pulled from sheet rock. Disappointed to say the least. I will now search for another A/C service provider.

The service from Capital Air Conditioning was OK.

We first contacted this company because we had a bad compressor on our a/c unit. We told them on the front end that it was the compressor but the service manager, Dave argued with us and then charged us for a visit so that he could officially tell us that it was the compressor. The compressor they installed lasted about a month. It immediately started making noise and not cooling efficiently. We called them back out and the service tech was friendly and courteous. He stated it was a bad compressor. I didn't receive a call the next day to let me know that the techs were at my home installing the second compressor. Then was called by Dave when they were finished to let me know that I needed to leave my job to drive over 30 minutes to let the techs inside my home to check the temperatures in order to "warranty" the second compressor. I told them I would be unable to leave my job on such short notice and he told me that "the compressor would not be under warranty". I told them I would be home at 5:30 or they could come as early was 8:15 a.m. but he said his techs did not work those hours.

I needed a routine maintenance done on my 4 year old unit. I called and they set up the service for the next day. Casey was the technician and he was very thorough, knowledgeable and professional. He set the unit to the correct sub-cooling which was never set at the initial installation. He said I would feel the difference and he was right. I can now set the thermostat to a higher temperature and the house is so cool. I would definitely recommend them.

It went fine. I thought the technician could have been a little better. He had to keep calling his boss. It was not as well as I hoped. I think I need a new air conditioner.

It went very well. He even showed me the old part he replaced !! Very professional !!! I even recommended the company and they have already used him !!!

Technician arrived as scheduled. Basically all he did was take the covers of the A/C and look at the unit and tell me it was rusty and coils should be removed and cleaned. The unit is 10 years old. He did not check the refrigerant pressure. Said the temperature differential between air coming in (warm) and going out (cold) would indicate the pressure was OK. Every other service provider I have ever used checks the actual pressure. Low pressure can damage the unit as well as cost a lot of money as the unit runs more. The tech also told me to remove the air filter from the A/C coil unit, which is in the garbage, to a return air duct in the house. Said the filter was to close to the coils. The filter is placed where the manufacture of the unit designed it to be placed. A different vendor a year ago told me not to put the air filter in the house as duct work was configured in such a way that half of the return air would not be filtered. After the tech left I viewed the duct work myself and the duct work is configured in such a way that a filter in the house would allow half the return air not to be filtered. This recommendation to move the filter was made without actually studying the return air ductwork. I had to ask the tech before he left to wash down and clean the compressor unit which he did after being asked. While this was a very small job, $40 Angie's List special, this vendor will not to do more work for me.

The repairman was polite, timely and professional.

They came out to repair my air-conditioner and it died the next day. They sent out the guy back to my house without charge. It turned out that something was broken and it broke again so they sent the guy back out again. The last guy went through everything and makes sure that everything fine and the air-conditioner has been working fine ever since. They didn't charge extra for the extra job. Overall they provided me an excellent service.

Very straightforward and honest. Came out when promised and finished the work in an orderly fashion. Very neet and left work area spotless. The price was very competitive. I would definitely use Capital Air Conditioning again and recommend them highly. Thanks Pete for running a great company.

Pete and his staff did everthing they where supposed to. But at this time, I choose to go with a diferent company.

I shopped around for a new AC and Capital Air had the best price overall. I was willing to spend more money but after speaking with Peter he advised me that the simplest Carrier model was good enough and that I would be blowing money away by paying more for a more sophisticated model. I appreciate very much when vendors have this kind of consideration for their customers' pockets. The installation went very smooth and was completed as promised, on time and no mess left behind. They even came back later to connect my desuperheater and didn't charge me anything for that. I was blown away by their services and will be coming back for more. Thanks, Capital Air!

Good experience. crew was very professional, knowledgable and they finished the job in 3 hours. After installation the unit had a issue with water accumulating. Called capital air told them of the issue, they sent out a repair tech same day and had it fixed. I would definitly will use capital air again.

Rob and his co-worker were awesome. They were punctual, friendly and professional. They left the garage cleaner than it was when they started and replaced my 30 year old system with a brand new 16 seer unit that began cooling the house quickly. I had gotten other estimates but they had the best price and great communications all around.

I asked four companies for quotes to replace the 17-year old air conditioning system in my home. Capital had the lowest price, but another company was within a hundred dollars. The other company had many poor ratings on Angie's List as well at the Better Business Bureau website so I called Capital to discuss purchasing the system. Pete Callahan, the owner, spoke to me and answered my questions. I arranged to have a new unit installed and he said he could do it the next day. His workers showed up on time with the correct equipment and did the job. They were very professional and knew what they were doing. They took the old system away and cleaned up after themselves. The price was exactly as stated on their proposal without any last minute add-ons. I would certainly recommend them.
