Capital Air Conditioning

The tech who was very friendly said it was running great and functioning perfectly and we can expect another 8 years from our unit. 2 days later our a/c started making a loud banging noise. When I called the company, they said I had 2 options, they will charge either $80 to make a house call just to see what the problem is or we could agree to pay $300+ because it may be the coils that need to get cleaned and then they won't charge us the additional $80 for the house call. I called another AC specialist who came out to my house at no cost and discovered the blower was falling off within the unit. If Capital Air Conditioning truly performed an A/C inspection there is no way they would have missed this. Extremely disappointed.

I was impressed with the professionalism & knowledge of the service rep, Jeff M. He made sure to patiently explain the issues with my units and gave honest recommendations. If needed, we will be using this company again, and will request Jeff as the device rep.

The inspection and maintenance went well. The Technician listened to my questions and provided responses that I could easily understand. He was attentive and was very pleasant. From beginning to end the service call lasted approximately 1 hour. The office (Connie) called me before the technician arrived, to ensure I was available. I remain a raving fan of the Capital Air team.

I was looking to replace my ac duct system with new. Last week I texted the company with my request for an estimate. I received a text reply the next day stating that I could call the office or someone would call that morning. I never received a call. Today I called the company and spoke to James. he stated that they are not replacing duct systems at this time. I'm writing this review to let others know not to call this company if your trying to replacing duct work. It is a little confusing as their description of work covers duct replacement work.

They were not able to properly fix it the first time, I called them back and they did something else. They also charged me extra for the cleaning. They were good but I don't why they were not able to fix it the first time. The price was quite reasonable.

The company followed up on my service call, we scheduled day and time and they called 1 hour before to confirm the time he technician was coming. The young man vas very professional and knowledgeable, checked the A/C unit, told me a lot of things about my A/C model, cleaned the whiter drain, checked the air handler and added 2 LBS of freon for additional $80. I'm very happy with the service that was performed. Now i have piece of mind and reliable company to deal with! Thank you!

We were looking to replace our 7 year old Rheem system due to high electric bills and loud system. Obviously the system shouldn't have to be replaced after only 7 years but the previous installer did such a poor Job (AIR MURPHY) that the system never performed up to its full potential. So I did allot of homework on finding a new company to do the job and found Capital AC through Angie's list. Called the company and spoke to the owner Pete Callahan . He was very straight forward and didn't try to sell me on more than what I needed. Described everything that was needed to do the job and was by far the most reasonably priced. But the most important thing was that the job was done RIGHT!! His reviews on this web site were outstanding . Pete's crew came exactly when they were scheduled and within 5 hrs I had a brand new Carrier installed blowing cold air and half the noise as the old one. The 2 men that did the install Rob and Charlie did a great job and you could see they took pride in their work. The Job was done right as everything was sealed up unlike the previous installer 7 years ago. Great Job!!!!

The AC professional came in and did the inspection of our AC unit. Unlike others in the same business, did not try to sell us unnecessary services. Overall we are very happy with the services that we received. We are considering buying more efficient AC unit and discussed the options with the AC professional. definitely we will use this company for any AC needs we have in the future.

After inspection, a small leak was found at a loose cap. That was replaced and Freon was added. A/C started working but later water wasn't draining and was leaking at the unit. Called back and tech came right back out and completed small maintenance: algae tablets, vacuumed drain pipe. A/C is working again now.

Casey was our technician. He was very professional, courteous, and knowledgeable. I will definitely use them again and refer them to my friends. .

I had used another company once (not on Angie's list, but recommended by a co-worker), who charge me $150 for the service call and another $75 to replace a fuse. They were supposed to come out for a second "free" service call after 6 months, but never did, and couldn't find my records when I called. Although I had a copy of the contract, they really rubbed me the wrong way, so I called Capital Air because of their great ratings on Angie's list, together with the fact that the were offering a $50 coupon to cover a $98 service call. They were excellent! I was able to schedule an appointment that accommodated my schedule, and the service person contacted me an hour before he came so that I could leave work to be there (and didn't have to wait around). My AC is old, but he said that it was in very good shape. He showed me what he cleaned, did a voltage (or amperage - I can't remember) test to confirm that it was working properly, lubed and greased the parts that needed it, and replaced the indoor filter (that I supposed to replace every month, but that's part of what they provide). Because it's a very old AC, I signed up for their service contract, which does not required any upfront fees or contract fees. I agreed to two visits/year, which I get at a reduced rate of $60/visit that I pay for after the visit, and they're keep track and call me when it's time for service again. The service/repairman was extremely professional, and willing to explain everything that I wanted an explanation for, I couldn't be happier, and feel that they definitely deserve the glowing reviews that they got an Angie's list.

Capital Air provides high quality work and sets the bar high for other companies. Pete, The owner is a real gentlman, courteous, and a really nice guy. They were very fast and efficient and took all our concerns very seriousely He installed 4 units in two of our duplexes in Hallandale Beach and let me tell you something, this company is the real deal. Price was fair and very affordable compared to other companies. It does not get better than this. If you're lucky enough to have these guys do any work for you, do not hesitate. We highly recommend them ...it was great doing business with you, Pete and Family :) !

Came on time, Explained all work to be done. Was very happy that they fixed my problem. Was not happy with previous A/C repair co.

They came into do a check on my AC unit, since my electric bills have skyrocketed recently. The tech was very courteous and explained everything to me as went throughout the house. On the outside unit he found we were leaking, so he quickly replaced the items. He also explained how to spot an issue in the future. He was in and out in an hour.

David finally called and gave me a quote, which turned out to be substantially higher than another quote from a reputable company, so I did not retain Capital Air to do the work. To my surprise, I subsequently received a bill for ~ $200. Shockingly, the previously blank maintenance slip was now filled in with an assortment of charges, making it LOOK like I had authorized them. As a courtesy to my parents who had used this company, I sent in a check for $50. This check's memo clearly stated that this was "PAYMENT IN FULL ANY AND ALL CLAIMS". The company called my father to try deceptively telling him that his son had an outstanding amount due, AND cashed the check for $50. To this date, both my parents and I are being harassed for the fraudulent charges. I have informed the BBB and am prepared to take legal action for this incredible unethical and unprofessional behavior. DO NOT USE this company!
