They have good customer service. They didn't install the floor correct the first time so they had to come back, but they took care of it promptly. They were very willing to fix the problem. I'm happy with their service.

The owner, Michael was punctual and cordial for the free in-home estimate.They had a sale going on for the wood-look laminate that my husband and I really liked. Of the 3 estimates, 2 companies carried the same laminate brand and his was the lower of the bids and had color choice that the other company did not have.Michael was very accommodating with the delay in the start date while we had to resolve other remodeling issues before the new flooring went in. On the day of installation the crew arrived early and went about the removal of the old flooring and checked with us at every stage.They removed old flooring,installed underlayment and started laying part of the new flooring on day on. They worked around the heavy pieces of furniture that couldn?t be removed from the living room and made sure to adequately protect it. The work was completed on time. ***** However, the problem with this company is the back office. We had to keep going back and forth with the back office to get the estimate to include the right product and then to include the discounts/sale price as discussed and agreed by the owner.They kept getting the pricing wrong so we had to keep checking line item by line item for each point and had to get it corrected, after the final payment was made ,we were told that we owed them more money, and to correct that we had to send them a copy of the contract which was signed by the owner including all the discounts that were applied. The office manager argued relentlessly without even checking the contract or with the owner, they did not even have the courtesy to call back and acknowledge their mistake.They just dropped the matter without any sort of acknowledgement from their part. ** Update after work completed. After the installation they left painters tape on the transition moldings that were glued and instructed us to remove it after 24 hours. The top layer of the molding peeled off in blisters and a piece of the molding around the fireplace hearth was not glued down properly and a tiny bit broke off.We kept calling Michael with no response. finally emailed him and he responded and after another email reminder sent his crew member Carlos,who took pictures glued back one oft the moldings and promised follow up within the week regarding the peeling moldings.It has been more than 4 months at the time of this review and we haven't heard back. I highly doubt that they will honor their 30 year product warranty claim.Initially I was planning on rating them an "A" solely based on the work of the crew that did the job,but after the hassle with the billing/payments and the lack of customer service post installation I'm rating them an "D". -- Update to Providers Response When making the payment, I did show the the invoice. so please don't assume i did not, since you were not there when collecting the payment (in fact the installer even took a picture of the invoice) and the fact that the company did not know the final amount, solely puts the responsibility on you. If stacking multiple discounts was not your policy, why did you offer it to me and create confusion? In reference to the moldings, please check your email where I stated that the moldings are ?defective?. If your employees are not communicating with you, you just proved what I have been saying, that there is lack of communication within your company, either with the final amounts or with what is being promised to the clients. You can either take the criticism constructively and fix the issues in your company so that other clients don?t have to go through my experience or do nothing, it is your prerogative.

Michael was extremely professional from the start. We needed an expert opinion with our peaking, laminate floor. Michael arrived on-time and performed an evaluation. Our flooring situation turned into a bigger issue that is beside the point of this review. The bottom line is this: the entire S & M Hardwood crew care about their customer's needs and satisfaction. When selecting future flooring designs, we learned that Michael carefully selects the individual pieces of flooring to compliment the area they are located in. He chooses pieces of the selected floor that have more character and places them in popular areas such as the kitchen or foyer to add more personality. He strives to make the entire experience focused on the customer. Our personal flooring situation continued over two years and Michael was patient and professional throughout. S & M Hardwood provides honest and professional business and keeps the customer's cares and concerns as the only priority.

Everything went very well from the time Mike came for the estimate until Kyle and John completed the job. Everyone showed up on time and were pleasant to deal with. I got very timely responses to any questions and everyone did a great job. My floor looks even better than it did before! I would definitely recommend and use them in the future.

S&M Hardwood removed the carpet, prepared the slab and installed hardwood floors in almost 2000 square feet of my home. They did beautiful and professional work and completed the job in under 3 days. They moved and replaced all the furniture. All were polite and courteous, showed up on schedule and completed the work in less than the estimated time. I could not be more pleased with my new flooring and would not hesitate to use or recommend S & M Hardwood in the future.

-Michael and Summer of S & M Hardwood were both truly a pleasure to work with. In the beginning, Summer helped me to pick out the flooring and gave great advice to help me make my decisions. During measuring, Michael and Summer answered all of my questions and the estimate was excellent (lower than others but still using high-quality products). During installation, Michael and all of his crew were hard-working, respectful and pleasant. They clearly knew what they were doing and worked very well together. I was informed every step of the way. The flooring was completed in a few days. The flooring looks amazing and it really transformed my home. S & M really seems to value customer service - they came right out when I had a small issue after installation and resolved it quickly and well. I would highly recommend this company!! Thanks

I was on a time crunch and needed to get about 6-8 damaged bamboo floor planks replaced. Summer and Michael came to the rescue, had someone come in the next day and take care of it. I already had the spare wood planks available, and so just needed to pay for the service/labor. Still, their responsiveness and friendliness through the process was very much appreciated. The quality of the work done was great and price was reasonable.

Mike came out and gave me an estimate that was extremely fair. He beat both of the other estimates I had, and still worked with me on the price. Carlos and his team did all the tile demo and then laid tigerwood through out the house and vinyl in both bathrooms. Summer was great to deal with at the office. The floors look FABULOUS! I have already referred 3 friends and 1 customer to them!!!! They are a hard working group and started and finished the job on time. Call them you won't be disappointed!!!!! I PROMISE!!!

We had problems with the supplier. They sent the wrong vinyl and we had it sent back. The supplier informed us that they didn't have our first choice. This was real concerning because we order our kitchen cabinets and all of our fabric furniture based on the floor coloring. We were able to find a vinyl that was fairly close that we felt would go with everything we had ordered for our condo remodel although it was our second choice. The install went very well and when completed the installers at SM exceeded our expectations. they were very professional and did exceptional work. I would definitely recommend them to anyone interested in floor covering.

It was okay. The carpenter that did the work was great and did great work. However, the customer service in the office was not as good of an experience for me.

From the moment of first contact I knew this was going to be a good company to work with. Summer, the office manager, was extremely helpful letting me know all of my options, and pointing out things that helped in my decision making process.. Once the work was ready to be started, their crews were very punctual, very professional, and work very efficiently. I actually had work done on two separate instances, and in both cases the owner stopped by to make sure that things were going as planned. If I need additional flooring installed, I WILL go to them...

Our adventure began with a call to office manager, Summer, at S & M Hardwood, with a list of questions about laminate flooring installation. She was extremely gracious and was able to answer nearly all of our questions to our satisfaction. For a couple of installation specifics she recommended we speak directly with her husband Michael. I talked with Michael at their showroom where he showed me a variety of laminate choices in my price range. There was no pressure, and no hard sell. Michael and Summer brought the samples I chose to our home so we could view them on site, and he measured the spaces, answered our remaining questions, and gave us a quote for the job. A few days later we placed the order and set up a date to begin installation. Michael and his crew of craftsmen, John, Danny, and Chuck, are consummate professionals. Each day it was exciting to come home to see the magical transformation as various rooms were completed. They were careful with all our furniture, gentle with our dog, and kept the worksite tidy at the end of each day. They finished sooner than estimated.Excellent communication, precise attention to detail, and efficient work habits define this team. I recommend them to anyone planning a flooring project. We have had so many compliments on our lovely new floors!

S&M Hardwood installed our baseboards. They did an exceptional job. Extremely professional, on time and fast. Will definitely reffer business to them.

Mike and Summer were very nice in dealing with me and I felt very comfortable with them. They started the job as agreed and finished much quicker than I expected, my floors look fantastic and I couldn't be happier. Both installers were very nice, personable and professional. l will recommend them to my friends and family.

From the moment I contacted them the experience was great. Very responsive to phone messages, always provided detailed cost estimates, showed up exactly when they said they would. The crew that arrived were efficient and professional, and quickly went to work on my project. Additionally the owner showed up to check on things... The work was completed exactly as I had expected. I would recommend, and will probably use them again myself sometime in the near future.

I had found the hardwood florring I wanted but was looking for an installer. The guy who I purchased the wood from scartched a name and number on the back of a card, so it made me feel a little nervous about the thousands I spent on premium wood being installed by some random guy. I found Micheal from Angie's list. I made contact with the office manager, Summer. Through many weeks of all the renovations and projects we were doing on our new old house, Summer was relentless in following up to ask if we were ready yet. She was just great! Micheal came out to measure. He wasextremely knowlegeable on the subject matter and made me feel very secure in deciding to go with his company. On installation day, he intitially came out and got the guys set up, then came out later to check the work. It was a beautiful job. I could not be happier. I highly recommmend this local businessman.

Installers arrived on time very professional and immediately started work, they carefully moved all the furniture out of the way and began removing old flooring a messy job they managed to do without creating a large mess, after moving furniture again they installed the new flooring, while doing this a third member showed up and removed the old carpeting from the stairs and replaced it with new, we were pleasantly surprised to find out they matched the new flooring with all the trim work looks far better then the way the old laminate was done.The entire operation took just one day to complete so very little inconvenience. I should also mention they very carefully moved the furniture back to it's original position checking with my wife often to ensure it was placed properly. We do plan on using them again and recommend them to anyone needing flooring done

On Saturday, May 17, 2014 Michael and his two artisans arrived on site at 9:00 a.m. Michel and his men began emptying the master bedroom. When done, Michael left his two men to finish this room. The men worked without taking a break and they finished about 1 p.m. Based on this day, Michael scheduled job completion for Monday. On Monday, May 19, the three men returned at apaproximately 9 a.m. This day they had about 2/3 of the villa to put the hard wood flooring in place on. During the job the disabled veteran required help transferring among a bed and two wheelchairs. The three men did not hesitate to help. They completed the work at approximately 4:30 p.m. They put all of the furniture back in-place. The electronics now works better than before they reconnected! This business is owned and operated by Michael Layne and his wife. He has two helpers and one of them is his brother-in-law. This company stays busy! Michael Layne is one on those few honest, really good men!

I contacted the provider to confirm the appointment a few days in advance via both email and phone. They did not call back. On the day we were supposed to start they did not show. They also did not answer my text, emails or phone calls until later that evening. He told me a better paying job had come up and he was pushing me back by three weeks.

They were professional and thorough. I appreciated their recommendation of leaving the slab exposed for a few days to dry out. They cam back and laid the new flooring down as promised.

I had a water leak in my kitchen which destroyed the hardwood floor. The insurance company paid for me to replace all of the hardwood floor in my house. I contacted S&M Hardwood and Mike came out to look at the project. He was very professional and knowledgable about flooring. After deciding to go with his company we were able to go look at samples and bring them home to look at them in our home to see how they would look in the lighting in our home. We decided on a hickory floor and also to have new base board installed throughout the house. Mike told us the project would take 5 days to complete. On Monday the crew to remove the old flooring arrived. I handed my key to the house to them and left for the week. I had asked them to make sure my DVR was plugged in each night and they did do that. I stopped in to check the progress on Wednesday and was happy to see the progress that was made. I returned on Friday and all of the flooring was completed. All that was left was some minor finisihing touches and to install the baseboards. They were complete by Friday afternoon. All of my furniture was back in placed and the floor was cleaned. The floor looked great. The job was completed on schedule and done to my satisfaction. I do have to note that Mike sub-contracted out the removal of the old flooring and that sub-contractor was not as careful as they could have been becaus during the removal the old flooring some of the pieces got kicked up and hit our walls. Mike and his crew were great about fixing the damage and touching it up with the paint I had on hand. Unfortunately, the touch-ups in my dining/living room were very noticable and stood out. But Mike took care of that. He hired a painter to come in and fix the areas of damage and to paint all of the walls in my dining/linving area. Yes, it was an inconvience, but it is not the fact that a problem happend, it was the fact that Mike stepped up and took care of the problem. That shows me how professional he is and how much he cares about his business and his cutomers. I would highly recommend him for any project as he stands behind his work.

Michael and his crew started, on time, on Monday morning, then through the next 4 days, moved furniture, shielded areas of the home that were to be untouched, pulled out carpeting, and installed wood floors throughout my condo. The crew were diligent, hard working, and professional. Monday was a shorter work day, lasting until 5pm. Tuesday and Wednesday were long days lasting from 9 to 7, then the final day of finishing and cleanup lasted til 5. I am happy with the Columbia product, the initial interaction with S&M Hardwood, and the completed job

They repaired a couple of boards and put some boards back in. It is a difficult floor and I was unsure it could be fixed. We might have to have them come back for future work because the boards are starting to pop up again. They were very wonderful to work with and we liked them.

On Mondasy24, 2014 I had a phone conversation after choosing S&M from Angies List to do some flooring work. It was agreed between Mike and myself that he could do the work. We Also agreed that I would call him on Saturday March 1, 2014, phone # 727-687-8307 for the purposr of meeting with him that day to look as some Laminate Flooring either with him, or if he was busy, with his wife at his store on Ulmerton Road. I did call Mike but there was no answer. I explained who I was, why I called and left my phone number for him to call. I never received his cll. I guess he is not interested in my business. MI don't have time to mess with incompetant, unprofessional business owners such as him. This does not do anything for Angies List either.

Mike and his crew did a great job. They know what they're doing. I'd recommend using them and plan to use them again in the future.
