Martin's Family Appliance

I woke to find my dryer was not heating. I had two loads of wet clothes waiting to be dried. I called several vendors who indicated prices that made me seriously think about buying a new machine. However, mine is a designer color and I didn't want to have to buy a washer too to coordinate. When I called Martins at North Main Street they told me it would be just the initial service call charge and cost of the part (with an understanding that if the repair took over 30 minutes there would be incremental service charges). They were booked up but fit me in because I had wet clothes and sounded desperate. The repairman was efficient and knowledgeable. In short time he recognized the problem, fixed it and as a bonus vacuumed, oiled and serviced the complete dryer just for the cost of the service call and part. I was so pleased because I love my dryer and didn't want to change it out. I will certainly use them again because they work on other appliances in addition to washer and dryers.

Repaired same day, same visit.

Technician arrived the same day, within two hours of my call, and completed the repair quickly and professionaly.

Martin's Family Appliance was contacted and immediately got back to me regarding repair of my clothes dryer. I did not expect to have them come and repair it the same day, but they worked me in immediately. Richard, the service technician, was courteous, professional and very knowledgeable. He replaced the heater element, vacuumed up the lint from dryer and completed the service call in less than 20 minutes. I am very satisfied with this company and will not hesitate to call upon them again in the future.

I noticed the freezer was not freezing and called Martin's Family Appliance at 8 a.m. today and spoke with Travis. He said he would work us in today and by noon, Richard was at our home, identified the problem (ice build up blocking air flow) and fixed the problem It took him about an hour and one half to disassemble the freezer, remove the ice buildup and reassemble the freezer......all at a cost of $77 which I consider a real bargain! Richard was very knowledgeable, competent and friendly. Idefinitely will call Martin's Family Appliance in the future to resolve any of our appliance problems.

Was great to talk with someone who was able to explain the differences in dishwashers and suggest options that meet our needs. Highly knowledgeable about different appliances and manufacturers; gave us good advice about making appliances last longer and perform better. No pressure to buy, reasonable prices, and good selection. Feel better knowing someone will care if we have a problem - different from feeling like an anonymous customer of the big chain stores.

Clothes dryer repair. Replaced thermostat and heating element. Punctual and friendly.

I had bought the washer and dryer a week ago, but needed to schedule installation on a day when I would not have a house full of workers (we are doing some renovation). I found out yesterday after business hours that today would be a down day, with no workers here. I called Martin's and left a message asking if the washer and dryer could be installed today, expecting them to tell me it would not be possible on such short notice. Imagine my surprise when they called this morning saying that they could come today. By noon, they had fixed the loose installation on the microwave, removed the old washer and dryer and installed a pair of new Speed Queens. Their servicemen were courteous, careful, thorough and cheerful. This was not our first experience with Martin's Appliance. They have always been exceptional in their service and also in the honest way that they represent what they sell. They are NOT to be confused with the Martin's Appliance in west Gainesville next to Home Depot. That store has no connection to Martin's Appliance on North Main Street, and is NOT such a pleasant experience.

Both times they came right away and carefully explained everything they were doing. When they came about the washing machine my grown son dealt with them. I would highly recommend them and would use them again.

I had called them the first part of June about the job and was so pleased about how they treated me on the phone I wrote them up at that time. 6 weeks later when I finally had the work done, they came, even called to come a little early, and completed the stove repair in good time. Then he evaluated the microwave to see why the light switch for the over stove lights wouldn't turn off, even though the message read they were turning on and off. The microwave is over 8 years old, and the repair (replacement of the electrical board) would cost more than a new microwave. It still works, I'm putting off replacement till a later time. All in all, the visit was within the hour time frame, and the cost was the same as quoted me six weeks earlier. The repairman was pleasant, and answered quite a few questions for me.

We were having a problem with our stove overheating. When we called, they prepared for several solutions and even ordered parts that we may not have needed. They came promptly and made all of the repairs quickly. The technician even cleaned the mark off the floor that was made when he moved the stove before he left. He tried his hardest to use as few new parts as possible while making the necessary repairs to make sure we didn't overpay for the repairs we needed.

Our washer's display lights began flashing accompanied by a buzzing noise while not in use. After researching on the web, we decided we probably needed a new central control unit. We looked up the cost of the part online and found it for $218, however, we decided we didn't want to attempt to fix it ourselves, so we called Martin's Family Appliance after reading their reviews on Angie's List. Spoke with Travis on Monday. He verified that they had the part in stock, and set up an appointment for the next day. Richard arrived on time and was very professional. He installed the new control unit and ran the washer to assure my problem was fixed. They charged $210 for the part, $75 for the service call (which included 1/2 hour of labor), an addition $12.00 in labor and tax. I used the Angie's list coupon for $20 which reduced my total bill to $293. Apparently, my washer is at the end of its life cycle and both Travis and Richard told me that to make sure I wanted to invest such a large amount in repairs. We took the chance with the repair and hope to get another year or more out of the washer. We will definitely use Martin's again. UPDATE: 06/03/15 - Washer is still working perfectly. Repair was definitely worth it.

Because of the age of the refrigerator and that there was no way to tell exactly which one it was he recommended replacing both of them. I authorized replacement of both parts. When he found that one of the parts was not on the truck as expected he called the office and they brought the missing part over right away . the whole diagnosis and repair including melting the ice inside the freezer took about an hour. The serviceman was great Even checking to be sure I had found and printed the discount coupon for the service call. The service man left the kitchen clean and neat. All we had to do was put the refrigerator contents back. I must admit that I took the opportunity to wash the shelves and bins.

From the repair person, the sales person and the delivery person, all were courteous, prompt, and professional. Martin Appliances has been in our town since before we moved here in 1990. They are still around for good reason.

Replaced parts in both electric wall oven and ice maker in a timely and professional manner. I have been dealing with Martin' Family ApplianceCompany for over 40 years in buying new products and for repairs.

Technician was very neat and professional. He explained the operation and the repair as he performed the work. There was no charge as it was under warranty.

Our laundry room was flooded with apparent water from our clothes washed. It was late, Friday afternoon and we had out-of-town company coming for the weekend. I called Sears, where we bought our appliances and they could not schedule a repair call until 7 days away! I called several other local businesses and none could come until the next week. Then I remembered using a refrigerator years ago from Martin's and the wonderful service we received! So, I called Martin's Family Appliances late on Friday afternoon and they said they would have someone out to our house in 15 minutes! Not only did they arrive exactly in 15 minutes, but they were cheerful, friendly and really wanting to help. They solved the problem. The repairman was very thorough and very experienced and solved the problem right away. He even gave me some very helpful tips on maintenance and the best cleaning supplies to use for my type of machine. The price was extremely reasonable. Service is very important when you purchase appliances and I have had horrible experiences in dealing with Sears repair. From now on, I will support Martin's Family Appliances because of the honesty, fair prices and excellent caring service. And next time, I will buy my appliances from them! I did once, years ago and received nothing, but wonderful service and fair dealings that's why I decided to buy all of our appliances for our new house at Sears, I'll never know. They have been difficult to deal with and the repair department is a nightmare. I realize now how important it is to support a local family business that is known for honest, caring practices and consistently gives excellent service. We are moving to a new house in one month and all my new appliances will be bought from Martin's Family Appliances!

It was a good experience. The technician got the job completed in about 30 minutes. He was on-time and cleaned up after himself.

Richard was very prompt, professional and not only repaired but did quickly, professionally and told us what to expect from machine.

Service man arrived early during promised time frame, reviewed problems, let me know that one of the problems I had was common and replacing parts might not fix it. So, I had a choice whether to spend the money or not.

I called the Fisher Paykel customer service number when the washer broke down. I asked who their authorized repair shops are in my area. They were very helpful, and but for some reason the customer service assistant at FP (who was obviously a Kiwi) did not mention Martin's Family Appliances at all. They gave contact info for another place out in Lake Butler (far away), and then another place in Ocala. Very Odd. Martin's is close by, and we originally bought the units from Martin's. A Martin's rep called back to confirm a time, and then called again right before he showed up. They came super fast. They were very friendly. They had all their parts with them, unlike other mobile repair services. The place in Lake Butler was not responsive, and not friendly at all. Very happy to have my washer back. The repair tech also went through all the programable functions of the washer. Also, I forgot about the Angie $20 dollar off coupon. Wasn't an issue. They fixed the sum to reflect the 20 dollar coupon.
