When I explained what had just recently started happening, the service man was able to instantly diagnose the problem. I saw it too but would never have looked there. He had the job completed in 30 minutes or less and that was that! The only thing I had not been originally aware of was that, if I had work done other than that included in the Angie's Deal, there would be charges other than parts and labor. All I suggest is that you ask about these in advance, just so you won't be surprised. Everything worked out fine on that score, but I just hadn't been expecting a service charge, for example, as they were already at my home for the Angie's Deal. Everyone was very nice and professional about everything!!

Have been in condo for seven years and have never had garage door services. When I saw the deal on Angie's list, thought it would be a good idea to have it serviced. Paid $89 for service on-line. When I purchased the coupon, the company called me the next day to set up a service call. Did a Saturday service was a big help! Upon inspection, it was determined that I need to replace more that what the coupon covered. The technician showed me this issues and I agreed that all the parts needed to be replace. He showed me everything that he was doing and stayed until the door was operating to his satisfaction. I was happy with the service and the peace of mind that everything was working as it should be. The replacement packet ended up costing me another $499, but it was service that needed to be done.

The worker was polite and professional.

I found them on Angie's List. The service was good. They were pretty prompt when they came to do an estimate. They actually got the work done the next day. The gentleman who installed it was very efficient and pleasant. I would tell others that I would hire them again. The price was a little high.

Discount Garage Door got off to a bad start with me. I contacted them to repair or replace 2 garage door openers. I booked the appointment on Monday, and was told the technician would be to my house the next day between 12-4. I took most of the day off of work and made it home by 12. After several calls saying the technician would be later than expected, Discount Garage Door called to say they would not be coming out that day. I had taken time off of work for nothing. I spoke several times with Discount Garage Door's office manager. She apologized for what happened, and offered a discount to earn back my business. I decided to give them another chance. Today one of their technicians, Grant, came out. He replaced an ancient garage door opener. His work was prompt, professional, and very courteous. I cannot recommend Grant highly enough. So, after a bad start, things got much better. I cannot give them an A because of the original failure, but they made things right.

I NEVER write reviews, but these guys really deserved this: I just bought a house and at the time the garage door opener worked fine. After the closing and while I'm getting everything in order to move, the garage door got jammed. I had to close it manually. I really thought I had to buy a new one. I found Discount Garage Doors on Angie's list to see if I could get someone to give me an estimate for the replacement/repair. The person who answered my call was very personable and immediately got someone to see it. Within less than 2 hours, there was a really cool guy in my home. He examined the opener and saw that it was perfectly fine, but needed to have the chain adjusted. He did this immediately and told me that he wouldn't charge me because he didn't do any repairs. I would highly recommend these guys because of their promptness and great overall service. Thank you Discount Garage Doors!

Discount Garage Doors were really quick and thorough. Our door doesn't always open with our garage door opener, but I don't know if that is his fault or if that is our remote.

The vertical side track to the garage door was damaged when a car door was left open while backing out. The support brackets were also damaged and there was no way to lower the door, which was now stuck in the "up" position. I needed to get the repair done as soon as possible because my wife and I were at work all day and were concerned with the obvious risk of things being stolen. I used Angie's List to select Discount Garage Doors and the ratings were very accurate. They agreed to come out the same day, originally between 1:00 and 3:00PM, then were able to move it up to 11:00. Roger, the technician, was waiting for me when I arrived. He replaced the defective parts and had the door operational within 45 minutes. Excellent work, reasonable price, and same day service (actually done within 4 hours of the incident!). I would definitely use them again for any garage door work.

My son's garage door had not been functioning for several weeks. He had previous called one service company trying to make arrangements for repairs when he or his wife was home from work. But the response from this particular company was "we close at 5." I had very recently joined Angie's List and began surfing for quality garage door service companies in our area. I found one that received excellent ratings from many customers (except for one that the person seemed to have unrealistic expectations) and I noted they provided service in the evening when most working homeowners are home. My son was going to wait until the next day but I told him to go ahead and call since they had extended service hours. He gave DGD (Discount Garage Door) a call. It was around 5 p.m. my son and was told a serviceman would be there before 8 p.m.. But the serviceman, Roger, was actually there and completed the job before 8!!! Roger was very professional when he promptly arrived and made his way thru the house to the garage. He politely asked my daughter-in-law to keep my 2 year old grandson out of the garage for safety reasons (he certainly would have been trying to climb Roger's ladder and helping himself to Roger's tool box). When he completed the job, Roger discussed the life-time warranty of the springs and offered maintenance suggestions. My son had gotten several 'word of mouth' price estimates from friends and neighbors so we were surprisingly satisfied when the job was completed final bill was delivered. The bill was as their name says, a 'DISCOUNT' without compromising service. This was the first time I used Angie's List and I will definitely be using it again soon. And I would definitely recommend Discount Garage Doors to anyone who needed garage door services. I would recommend Roger to do the job as well.

Roger arrived promptly and provided excellent service. Quickly analyzed the problems with my door, made the adjustments and replaced the worn parts directly from the inventory on his truck. He waived the $35 service call fee and honored the 10% discount advertised on Angie's List. I'd definitely do business with this company again.

I originally called on a Friday afternoon and was told that a technician was working in the area and would show up after he finished that job. About an hour later, I received a call saying that a truck had broken down and my work would need to be rescheduled to the next Tuesday. When I responded that I would call someone else, the dispatcher said someone would be out the next day, Sat., between 9 and 11 am. They arrived at 9:30. No discount of any fees was provided in response to my mentioning Angie's List

The serviceman adjusted the chain. No parts were replaced. He never looked into the box. I was charged $120 for travel and labor. Eight days later the opener quit working again with the same symptoms. Again it was very important that I get help as my back was then quit fragile after surgery. I called the office and stated that I wouldn't be willing to pay travel and labor again for the same problem. I was assured that wouldn't happen if the problem was indeed the same one. The second serviceman opened the box and found a wasp nest and a stripped gear which he replaced. I was charged $167.48 and assured that I wasn't paying for any travel and labor, just the part. Later I went online and found that the gear and sprocket set costs about $39 retail. So apparently I was charged twice for travel and labor. The company refused to reimburse any of the funds for the first useless visit. I asked for a full refund of the first $120. For a grand total of $287.48, I surely could have bought a new opener and had it installed.
