Bizarre experience! They called shortly after I submitted my new garage door project to Angie's List. The caller said we cannot serve because you are blacklisted -- since 2007! Only then I remembered that I had an extremely unpleasant experience with a garage door company back then. If I knew it was DGD I would have excluded them to begin with. The guy who showed up back then was very unprofessional to the point of swearing at me and threatening me. I paid their fee anyway. My only regret is that I did not report them.

Well....wasnt' expecting to have to replace door opener. But knew it was in the card from 4-5 mo ago had it serviced. But this professional was very courteous, patient, showed me what he could try ...to see if opener could handle the opening the door ....ie buy me a little more time for the expense. But the opener could no longer do it. Sooo had to have it replaced....$$$. But he was very informative, efficient, polite. I'd Hire him /company to do the 2nd door whenever it gives up the ghost.

Discount is in the name of this company, let me assure like many other reviewers - -there is nothing discount about this company. The service and technician were great, I just think the name of this company is misleading. Next time I would try another company with hopes of fairer prices.

After a misunderstanding about scheduling, Chris installed my new door yesterday. (Oct. 16th). I must say that Chris was very professional and was unbelievable focused. He worked so hard and he explained everything he was going to do. My new door is so much better than my old one. It's quiet and has all new electronic. I highly recommend them.

I'll start with the fact I am happy with the work itself, and the professionalism of the mechanic. Not having had any experience in this area. I relied on reviews, and google. I fully expected to be treated fairly, and went in with that mind set. I was in a bit of a bind, and needed the door to work. So though the price seemed higher than I thought it should. I allowed them to make the repairs. Unfortunately for me. I did not check the parts prices until after the fact. For a set of springs that cost less than $40 from the manufacturer; I was charged $208. For a set of pulleys that run $6 each. I was charged $190+. For $4 worth of cable. I was charged $97. The total overcharge was $338 as I see it. I feel that this company preys on people that are being held hostage by their house. I would not recommend them to my worst enemy. =

They arrived on time, provided a quote, and spent time to explain everything they saw. Excellent experience, I actually did hire them again to fix the garage door a few months later.

Professional work with good estimator and quick installation team

Not all that good. You had a follow up thing which was rigged so that there was no way to answer the question correctly, so that's why I didn't give you a follow up before. I called for this $39 tune up I got sold a replacement of the springs. Well the springs was broken that's fine of course I would have called her out and got other prices had I had not had a sales man in my face pushing me to do this for $700 which Sears did for $360 it turns out. So I was not real happy with it now of course he did put in the deluxe spring and I looked that up on the web and that was about $60 extra ?so the Sears job would have been over $400 but that's still less than $700 and I didn't have an opportunity to call around with this guy there giving me that so I wasn't real happy with the deal. He did the job competently all of that was competently done so I was happy with that but I wasn't happy with paying $700 for a $400 job.

service tech very good but will not use this company again because of the extremely high charge.....they charged me over $300 for two parts that can be purchased for less than $100

Caveat emptor would be my guiding principal if I were to use this vendor again, which I well might but still . . . In general I was quite pleased with the service offered. The young woman who spoke with me on the phone was knowledgeable and helpful. The gentleman who came to make the repairs was polite and helpful. Tardiness, however, is a big bug-a-boo of mine and the fact that the repairman was "On his way and . . . about fifteen minutes from there." did not set well when he arrived an hour and one-half later. BE AWARE -- there is a "Fuel/Misc" charge of 3% which will be added to whatever price you agree on. It is in the contract on the back of the page. Be aware when you make a purchase the price of which was billed as "Package Price" does NOT include labor. After agreeing on that price there was an additional $85 charge for labor. Go to their website and you will find multiple coupons good for varying discounts of $25 or $50. After reaching a total on the bill I presented one and was informed that those were "not worth anything since I already figured that in." In other words once I made a decision to go for a service with a "Package Price" of $625.00 it ended up costing $760. I do not know whether the installers work on a commission basis but I was politely but persistently pushed to get additional repairs. The constant "up-sell" pressure was not pleasant. When I spoke with them about the receipt -- which was not at all clear about the labor charge, it sort of just appeared -- they were again very polite and accommodating, offering a refund but . . . truth be known . . . I had agreed to it all and it was a carefully worded although difficult to read (pale brown type on the back of a sheet of yellow paper) "contract". As far as I can tell the work was completed in good fashion but I do believe before I use these folks again I would have a clear understanding of the "extra" charges involved.

They were a 'No Show'. We called first thing on Friday and they said earliest they could come would be between 4-7 pm. We were at the residence all afternoon waiting and no one showed up. The office finally called about 7:30 to say the technician would not be able to make it, but we would be first on the list the next morning and tech would be there at 8 am. The next day no one showed at 8 and at 9 we called another company. The DGD tech finally arrived at 10 and did give us an estimate, but is very high, so we decided to wait for the other company. I would have given DGD an 'F', but the tech did provide an estimate when he finally arrived. We will not be calling this company in the future.

THE $175 SPRING HE INSTALLED BROKE OF COURSE! But, before that happened, at the next service call, I called the Overhead Door rep (Glenn) out to replace a bad wheel, and he spotted the incorrectly sized spring installed by DGD and pointed it out, saying that it was undersized and would break on me at any time. So, the noticeable size difference that I commented on as a novice WAS IMPORTANT and an indicator that DGD was just installed what he had on the truck and charging me for it with no concern that it was the wrong part. At that point, the spring was out of warranty and I declined to have it replaced since it was still working. That was August last year and it broke this weekend. So, OHD was right. Today, Overhead Door came back out and removed the incorrectly sized spring that DGD rep Tim installed. He was mad at DGD when he saw the spring. It is a size 225 when a size 243 should have been used instead. Interestingly, the original RH Overhead Door spring is still there, and has not failed. I am out an extra $175 for my trouble. LET THIS BE A LESSON TO THOSE WHO THINK THEY ARE GETTING A DISCOUNT AT DGD. IF YOU HAVE AN OVERHEAD BRAND DOOR, CALL OVERHEAD DOOR. IF NOT, CALL LESTERS. BOTH ARE REPUTABLE LOCAL FIRMS. By the way, I have the receipt and two pics to back up what I am saying.

Had service call that day. On time and quickly identified problem. Tyler, the DGD repairman, was wonderful. He could have sold me a bill of goods., but was honest and extremely informative. He was great!! I would absolutely call them again..and ask for Tyler to make the service call!! Incredibly satisfied!!

FAST TALKER MORE INTERESTED IN SELLING ME ALL HE FELT HE COULD THAN REPAIRING THE PROBLEM I HAD. I FEEL I WAS REALLY HAD.

He was punctual, polite and went over in detail all that needed to be repaired and serviced.

A DGD service technician arrived at my house within two hours of my phone call. He replaced the chain on the sprocket, adjusted the chain so it wouldn't come off again, and adjusted the door so it operates much quieter. He declined payment for his work.

Really really liked this guy. Our garage door was dented when we bought the house and I never gave it much thought until it started going a bit wonky in March. When I saw the special on Angie's List I decided to get it checked out. Well, for whatever reason, we didn't confirm the appointment until months later. The scheduler was very considerate in dealing with the delay. he guy who came out was great. He made some adjustments so that we wouldn't have to replace the door right away. NO pressure! He gave me a quote for a door replacement but never pushed. When the time comes to fix the door, you can bet we'll be calling them back.

It worked out just fine. It works like brand new again. They worked clean and were prompt. When it comes to their arrival time, they were quick and efficient. They came out quickly. They were available at my convenience. He was neat, clean, professionally dressed and did his job efficiently.

They tuned up our garage door. They oiled things that needed to be oiled, and some of the things we thought were going to be problems ended up not being an issue. They did find one issue they could fix, however we made the repairs ourselves.

I like the fact that they didn't try to push anything other than that I needed was necessary. They were professional and told me what I ask them. They were very thorough in checking the system.

Very professional, timely, prompt and courteous.
