Description of Work: Dave does excellent work but he is extremely busy. He fixed my doorbell and I had other work that I wanted him to do. Even though we discussed the work, and he agreed to do it, I never heard back from him.

Description of Work: Looked and stated I needed to replace the computer control unit at over $300. I was able to just disconnect and reconnect the connections to insure they were tight, and the dishwasher worked just fine. Thanks for nothing!

Description of Work: All my smoke alarms went off at the same time for 40 minutes and then they turned off. I was going out of town and I didn't know what to do. I called Dave Forrestral and altho he said he was out of town on a big job that would take a few weeks to complete and unable to come he took 15 minutes on the phone and very professionally told me what he thought it was (a brown out because of the heat). He said he would come later if it went off again. He was right and calmed me right down. He didn't charge me for the call. I really like the way he talked to me. A few days later I called and asked him if he could replace an outlet and some other larger jobs when he got done with the job. Again he said he was on the job but would be in the neighborhood and could stop by and look at it. Within an hour he came and again spent nearly a half hour with me and didn't charge and was very informative ad said he'd be by as soon as he could. I will definitely call him again

Description of Work: Dave delayed responding initially indicating he would be available in 2 or so weeks. He reviewed job (replacing a few ceiling tiles and repairing water damaged cabinet) saying he could get to it in 2 or so weeks, asking me to locate tiles. I told him I would like him to do the work and asked about replacing all tiles. Days later he said he was not interested in the job. Waste of my time.

Description of Work: Ran wire for 2 ceiling fans and conduit and line for another outlet on screened in porch.

Description of Work: He took down the old closet system in a walk in closet and put up a new system. He consulted with me on the exact configuration I wanted and did a great job. He also checked a few other items in the house for me and I am going to have him come back when our schedules work out. He is pleasant and does very good work. His schedule is sometimes busy so be prepared if you have to wait a bit.

Description of Work: I got no response whatsoever to any of the "handy men" I contacted through this site! VERY disappointed

Description of Work: He's very nice and very affordable. That said, I asked him to swap out a light switch and plate (from an old dial-style dimmer to a slider), and he put it on upside down. I had to take the plate off and put it back on myself.

Description of Work: He showed up at the house for the appointment and my rude brother turned him away and was very nasty to A-1. So there was no service performed. We hired someone else.

Description of Work: I called David for a minor electrical problem (several outlets not working). Over the phone he told me how to fix it. It worked and I didn't need him to come out and take a look. Saved me $35 for the courtesy visit. I appreciated thate.

Description of Work: I used Mr. Forrestel before and he does excellent, well-priced work. But I think he is very successfull now and does not have time for small repairs. I called him several ( 4 to 6 ) months ago to fix a hole in the ceiling. He didn't return my call, so I called again about 3 weeks later. He came out and looked at it and told me it wouldn't be a big job, that he was busy with a Kitchen redo and would get back with me when he could. I never heard back from him. I called again a couple of weeks ago and he told me he was very busy with a big job, then he was going on vacation so could I call back in 2 months. Mr Forrestel has done very good work for us several times before, and if I ever have a really big job I will consider calling him, but I think he is too busy to do small repairs anymore. I am sorry about that because it is so hard to find someone this good. He did really excellent work.

Description of Work: Dave continues to do a super fantastic job as a handyman. He bought door locks and put the locks on both of the bedroom doors. He hung an expensive painting on the wall very securely. He put a hook on my front door so I could hang decorations on my front door. I can always count on Dave to do a great job!!!!

Description of Work: Dave removed old corroded drains from both our tubs and readied them for replacement. Told me he could put them in but to save money we could just buy the new parts and do it simple on our own. Even showed me how to take the drains out in the future! Wonderful common sense guy who came straight away and was very nice.
