Alufab USA Hurricane Protection

Very professional installers - prompt, careful and cleaned up completely. Good color match and shutter works very well. Shutter box is hidden from sight and side tracks blend nicely with our home. The electrician was excellent and did a great job of installing the control in the proper place - no visible wires or messes. Would definitely recommend Alufab if hurricane shutters are needed.

There were numerous issues with the install. I called the salesman I dealt with and he would not call me back. I also sent several emails that didn't get answered for several days. Alufab appears to be a small company that tried to grow too fast and lost their edge on quality and customer service. I would not recommend this company to anyone. The product installed was not the product that was described to us when we invited the salesman into our home. Caveat Emptor (Let the buyer beware)

Professional from beginning to end. From sales associate Jack to installers,everyone was very courteous . Office followed through by getting permitting done very speedy. The windows are beautiful , high quality and easy to operate. The staff cleaned up after themselves and tried to avoid tracking dirt into our home. The pricing was very competitive , we obtained multiple bids.

Jack accurately measured a second job for us and Shaun installed our shutters professionally and in a timely manner. We have used them before and I highly recommend them for all hurricane protection needs!

As I stated, we were in the market for hurricane shutters like many others in Southwest Florida. After doing plenty of research on companies in the area, we came across Alufab as a good recommendation from our friends. Alufab gave us a great price, the installation was professional, clean and overall very good. The problem was communication and coordination. It appears that they had many new employees and not enough people to oversee operations. As I said it was a good job at a good price, but because of the mishaps of coordination and communication challenges, they did not send the correct installers because the installers were not given the proper information. My family wasted a lot of time waiting, calling, calling again and not being informed regarding status updates. Maybe this is why they were cheaper than other companies, I'm not sure. We have great respect for the salesman and the installer as I said earlier, but the managers and people in the office need to improve in order for us to recommend this company to anyone else. We fulfilled our side of the bargain by promptly paying? in fact, paying immediately. We feel that once they got their money they weren't interested in listening to what we had to say. We believe that this still holds true. I say this only because after advising the salesman (who was a GREAT guy and treated us with great respect) that we were going to post somewhat negative feedback, he never called, texted or emailed us again. Very poor to say the least. I think they are going to be a better company in the future, but not if they do things such as not properly communicating with their customers. Let me just say that I don't believe this was intentional, but once we brought these issues to the attention of the owner/manager, I think they should've done a better job in fulfilling our needs.

Installation was difficult, but they worked as a team to get the job done to my satisfaction. This was the second time that I used alufab. The first time they replaced all my windows. I highly recommend them. They also were thousands lower than a lot of other contractors.

The shutters were initially installed in approximately one week. The installers did not speak English, so I did not realize the reason they left half of the shutters on each window. The inspector failed the ones on my lanai, which has pavers over concrete. It took six months, many phone calls and several trips by the company and inspector before it was passed. Each time I called the office to speak to the owner, I was only able to talk to the office staff. I can't believe that this can be typical for their business.

The installers were on time, did a near perfect job of installing the windows and shutters. They were friendly, professional, courteous, and fully cleaned after completion. I do not know what else could have been done any better. As perfect as it gets in my opinion. I am truly a very satisfied customer. These guys are A+ in my book!!!

Excellent service and follow-up. They did what they said they would do. The sales rep was very professional and very accessible. Ihe always returned my calls and get me informed on the job status. I would definitely recommend them.

They installed accordian hurricane shutters on the lanai and sliders. |There was a neasurement issue and they corrected it immediately.

From start to finish it went great. The estimators were professional and gave me a good idea of when permits could be ready and set up installation. The installers were great and I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly they got the job done. They arranged for the electrician to finish the electrical work and he was as good as the rest of the people involved in the whole project. Installers and electrician were all neat and cleaned up when they were done without even being asked. This was not the first or last company I had an estimate from but they seemed the most professional and they did not disappoint. I knew I had made the right decision as soon as they started working, and when they were finished, the decision was confirmed.

Installation went as scheduled. Any concerns that I had were addressed immediately.

Great service and price. The installer and salesman, Jack, spent the time to explain the advantages and the process and answered a ton of our questions. We were very comfortable with these folks.

Got the info on the firm from the Sunday paper. The salesman, Mark, was cleancut (former Wis. Highway Patrol), professional and organized. He did the measurements, showed us a variety of options, and once we selected how we wanted to go, he applied all the discounts he could. The installers were ontime, and professional. All the pieces were premade, and installed quickly. We got the installation and quality as promised. They looked better than we imagined. The electricians followed two days later and ran all the lines, and installed switches in accordance with city codes. The city inspector came out, checked the Permit and the Work and rated all facets, A+. He commented that the firm has a good reputation. I am totally pleased with the company, the work and the product. I would recommend this firm to all in the area.

Extremely professional company. Gary and son were helpful and just nice people. Visited their office and building. They came to my home to measure and assist with different types of window protection. The installer, Eduardo, was also very courteous, efficient and another nice person. Took great care in getting his required tools and mountings together. Did a great job. Will definitely use them in the future.

Our salesman was Mark. Great guy! Very helpful making a decision. We went to the showroom off Metro to see the shutters. The work was done in a professional manner. Highly recommend.

Excellent! When I made the appt. I asked for an experienced sales person since I'm new to Florida and had lots of questions about how to proceed. Jack Lengel was sent and he did an excellent job explaining all the options. Installation proceeded in a few weeks (sooner than promised) and the installer was very good. He explained everything he was going to do, cleaned up very well and even washed clear panels before mounting. He marked all the panels so that I would know what window they go on. He took pictures and then took down the panels that I did not want left up. Inspection took a while to get done but that was because the staff thought we needed to be home. We did not and the paperwork was outside for the inspector to view. Once inspector was notified he came out quickly. We still need the paperwork sent from Alufab for sending to insurance company certifying the installation but that should be coming. Overall very happy with them and have recommended them to neighbors.

The entire process could not have gone any smoother. The salesman came to my house after hours to suit my schedule which really impressed me. He showed me multiple samples to choose from and did not try to oversell me. I requested roll down shutters, but he provided me quotes the next day for both the roll down and less expensive accordian so that I could make an informed decision. The installation was seemless. Alufab provided me the permit form to complete. got the permit within a few days of my returning the form, and had the shutters installed within a week! The installers showed up on time and were efficient, friendly, and did a good job of cleaning up. They also did a good job of demonstrating how the shutters should and should not used. The installers informed me that the electricians would be contacting me to complete the job. They were very knowledgeable about the entire process and not just their installation phase. Most installers would have left me hanging not knowing the next step of the process. Within a few days of installation, Alufab scheduled the electricians to hook up the motorized shutters. They also showed up on time and were efficient, friendly, and did a good job of cleaning up. They went out of their way to locate the switches in two closets so that they would not be seen in high traffic areas. They could have taken the easy way out and located them in areas more easily accessible for themselves, but they didn't. They did it the right way. I am extremely happy with my new roll down shutters and with Alufab. They were a wonderful company to work with and I have and will continue to recommend them to others.

They did a great job, arrived on time, all the parts fit perfectly, shutters were done just as they said they would be done, and the price was fair. I would definitely recommend them, and will use them again.

My husband and I work in real estate in Cape Coral, FL. We have a home listed for sale and prospective buyers wanted a quote for hurricane shutters for the home. I contact Alufab based on their Angie's List reviews. Beginning with the contact person in the office through speaking with both Gary Sr. and Gary Jr. I was very impressed with Alufab. Their responsiveness was first rate and their follow-up top notch. They arrived to measure the home when they said they would, emailed an estimate to me when they said they would, and returned calls, emails and text messages immediately. You can tell they appreciate each customer and strive to make you a happy, satisfied client of theirs. Their prices were reasonable. I found them to be honest and forthright, even talked me out of a more expensive option. Whenever I have a client ask for a recommendation for a company to provide hurricane protection, I will definitely be telling them about Alufab.

From measurements to installation, Alufab did an amazing job. The value is priceless and the cost is priced less! Having a hurricane safe piece of mind is wonderful. The estimate was favorable and all was measured quickly and with precision. The installation of accordions, as well as electric shutters, and the installation of a hurricane proof side garage door was performed flawlessly and in a professional and timely manner. The showroom for Alufab will show the various products and the sturdy nature of the shutters. Thank you to all involved! Although no hurricanes have come by since the installation, I save so much on my power bill when I use the shutters during the heat of the day! Quite honestly, if a hurricane never happens (for which I pray), I will pay them off with the savings on my cooling bills!!

Alufab's Rep was Mark Hoppe who was a congenial person, although not particularly an aggresive follower of the proposal process. I did get several proposals although the process was interupted by his vacation and the need to diligently follow up on open questions. The company apparently had some internal email problems which made it harder for their sales personnel to be timely in responding. In the end, I chose another company, despite the fact that Alufab was the lowest cost provider. I was really looking for the combination of price, aggressive service, and flow-up. (Mr Hoppe never really tried to close the sale--it just kind of drifted away until I wrote him a thank you note telling him I had chosen another vendor.) They scored well on price but fell short on the other metrics and this is a very competitive industry where the real differentiator seems to me to be end to end customer satisfaction. I would encourage buyers to get multiple proposals, to demand that you be provided itemized detail on various aspects of proposed solutions, and to judge the general responsiveness and interest in customer education as one proceeds. Don't get swayed too early in the proposal process with offers of discuonts and special deals--in the end, all vendors have flexibility.

I ordered my shutters on May 24th and they were installed on June 6th. The only negative was that I had to clean some dirt from my floors and patio.
