Alufab USA Hurricane Protection

My wife and I were very satisfied with the service and cleanliness when the job was completed. Jack Lengel took the time to come up with a plan that meet our needs - he presented a number of different options for us to consider. We would highly recommend Jack and Alufab.

Jack came to my home promptly, as scheduled. After examining my house, he reviewed my options, and recommended that I keep my current arrangement with traditional panels. When a salesman recommends that you do not spend your money on his product, it speaks to his honesty and professionalism.

He was excellent! He went out to look at the home and made some suggestions. We were thinking of certain things and he made a suggestion on different things, and we appreciated that. It was very prompt service. We contacted them and the next week they were installed. They were great! They worked very well and we were very pleased with them and their product. We had a couple of different prices from other places. One was lower and one was higher, but the lower one was a different quality.

Everything was perfect! Jack the salesman was very professional and friendly. The owner came out to measure...also very friendly! The installers prompt and very neat. I have nothing negative to say about this project...only positive. We would do business with this company again.

Alufaba USA is an excellent company to do business with. I got quotes from four different companies. Two of the companies didn't even bother to follow up on the quotes. Alufab went out of their way to provide three different quotes for three separate modifications for this project for my consideration and worked with me very professionally. The project was completed in two phases. The first phase was the installation of three electric roll down shutters. Alufab personnel installed the rolldown shutters. The electrical contractor chosen by Alufab, Integrity Electrical Services, Inc., were absolutely top notch. They were so good that I subsequently hired them to install a by-pass electrical panel for my gas powered generator. The second phase of the project was the removal of our existing windows and the installation of the eight new Eastern Windows impact resistant, Low E glass windows with Neat Glass. The Neat Glass coating option virtually removes the need to wash the windows on the exterior side. Water from the hose or rain washes any debris or dust or dirt off the windows and eliminates exterior washing. I highly recommend the Neat Glass coating option to anyone having new windows installed. All items were custom manufactured to size and fit perfectly. The personnel were very professional. Each phase of the project required no clean up on our part. That's how thorough and clean they were. Alufab's pricing was in the middle. They were not the highest nor were they the lowest. However, the lowest prices were not comparable products to Alufab's offering. I would highly recommend ALUFAB USA if you are looking to install new windows, window protection, or roll down shutter protection. A great company with great folks to work with including Marco, the owner. Our home is now hurricane proof in ten minutes. Thank you folks - a good job well done!

The entire process went smoothly. The workmen have the process down to a fine art. Even though there was a lot of work involved, there was no inconvenience involved at all. The installers were professional, courteous and cleaned up after themselves. I would rather not have to install hurricane windows in a home, but if I had to do it all over again, I would contact Alufab in a flash. They did a great job.

Very good. I chose this company due to Angie's List rating and upon a recommendation from another contractor. The sales process was a bit frustrating - after I accepted the estimate, the salesman informed me that he did not record the correct measurements on the roll-up resulting in a higher price to me - however, the issue was resolved to my satisfaction. The 3-man installation team did a very good job - they were careful to avoid damage to my home / landscaping, explained how to properly use the shutters/roll-down, were professional, and cleaned up everything before they left. The 2-man electrical team worked quickly, communicated clearly, and did the work expected and as required. Overall, I am very pleased with the quality of the work performed and feel much more confident with the addition of the shutters/roll-down on my home for that eventual day when they will need to be utilized. Will recommend to others.

It was a great experience from beginning to end. The salesman Jack Lengel knew his product and gave me several alternatives from which to chose. jack gave me a quote and I had to wait over six months before I could install Jack honored his quote even after six months. The date of install arrived the installers were on time friendly and answered all my questions.

When returning to my home this summer, the glass was completed shattered into little pieces. It did not go through to the back of the film protection. I called them to inform them that this happened and they said it did keep the glass from penetrating inside. If this were a hurricane more than one object would hit this multiple times, so it would have came completely through. They said they could replace the door for $500. I do not want a replacement of this same door if this is what happens without a hurricane. I want to warn others to not pay for this type of door, as it does not work properly.

There was a small glitch in that we were concerned that the county inspector would not be able to approve the installation prior to our needing the shutters. AluFAB worked with the county and the shutters were installed in plenty of time. The installers were very professional and completed their tasks quicker than we expected. Much less than a day. I made a big mistake on the day the inspector was scheduled and jammed the shutters. AluFAB postponed inspection, fixed the problem, and the inspection was successfully done. Everyone that we dealt with at AluFAB was polite, professional, and prompt. A subcontractor electrician was not quite up to AluFAB standards and AluFAB made it right.

Very satisfied with the product given. I received a few electric roll down shutters, a few manual roll down shutters, and numerous accordion type shutters. I was surprised at the high price of having shutters installed, but this company was right in line with other quotes I received. Communication could have been a little better. Salesman was professional but I never heard from him once sale was made - some follow up would have been nice, even just to let me know what to expect - I didn't know inspector and electrician would be coming out on different days than the installation date. Also, I was not home on day of installation and found a bag full of plugs, with no note or anything. They cover up the screw holes. I thought maybe they expected me to put the 100+ plugs in myself, but upon calling the office was told they needed to stay out until the inspector came. Glad I called - this should have been told to me by the salesman. They did have someone come out to do them. The color of the lower horizontal piece does not exactly match the rest of the frame but I was told this is normal due to ordering those pieces from a separate manufacturer. I was thinking this company did all of their own manufacturing but the office said some pieces are ordered out, which all the companies do. It really is not noticeable unless you look closely - not sure all the colors will have that slight bit of a mismatch or just the beige ones that I had ordered. Also, had I to do it over again, I think I would not go with any manual roll downs as they are harder to deal with than the accordion shutters and more expensive. The electric ones are nice though (of course they can be done manually if there is no electrical service). I've heard so many negative things about shutter companies and there are so many to choose from. This is a good, honest company and I would recommend them.

The sales rep, Jack Lengel, was punctual and responsive to meeting our needs. He provided plenty of information to help us make our choices about products, and was easy to work with in negotiating a price. There were several time issues including a specific window for installation and for submitting the proposal to the Condo Association Board. The company did all they needed to do in order to meet these demands. The office personnel were pleasant and helpful whenever I had questions. The product and the service were provided as described.

As I expected it was completed on time in specification- ***FABRICATION*** Actually it only took about 1 week for fabrication of the shutters and then they were prepared to install as soon as it fit in our schedule- A+++ ***INSTALL DAY*** The techs arrived on Install day, and I showed them where the shutters were bought for. They explained to us what the process would be like, and told us they would be completely finished in 2-3 hours. At approximately 2 1/2 hours they began their cleanup with brooms and a vacuum, there was no sign they had been there ( in regards to debris when they left). Prior to leaving they showed me how to lock the accordion shutters, and let me attempt it, then they showed me the proper way to shut the roll down shutters to ensure safety and security.... as well as how to open leaving them properly to prevent them jamming in the future. This was great that they care enough not to just run for home when they were done, they let me ask questions and they made sure we understood how the equipment worked ( We did not need Hurricane protection in the midwest). ***6/26/2014 The final building permit inspections have been completed... EVERYTHING was great- the inspectors had no problems- quickly signed off on the installation of both mechanical and electrical. I took my final payment over to the office, and met HUGO. He was great to speak with. He got me a container of lubricating spray for the shutters and just gave me the entire can so that I would know what is the right type to use. He answered a couple minor questions we had as we will do another area of the property in a month or so. I would highly recommend speaking with them if you are in the market for Hurricane protection- furthermore, I recommend you go to their showroom/factory to see the workmanship. Everyone we spoke with at this company has been very professional and very courteous. We spoke with Gary (Jr) who showed us the product and fabrication area in the showroom, Gary (sr). Who came to our home, measured for our needs, he then discussed the products they had which we could use and the Pros and cons or each, and worked to help us fit our Primary concern into our budget. I spoke with Suzanne on the phone as she would assist with scheduling, and be sure the inspectors came out to get everything finalized. As I said I met Hugo ( the CEO- President) of Alufab USA (Fort Myers). He was great to speak with. Did I tell you I enjoyed working with them? 7/14/2014 We did another group (4) of our windows with Hurricane Protection. We ordered the Accordion Shutters for these windows to allow rapid deployment should a Tropical Storm/Hurricane come through. From measurement through Fabrication of these shutters went very easily. They were manufactured in less than a week. Everyone was Great, all personable and professional. They worked around our schedule to allow the installation. EXCELLENT JOB!!!!! GREAT! We will finish our Hurricane Protection using ALUFABUSA as soon as our budget allows the completion of the final openings on the property. IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING HURRICANE PROTECTION.... This was an extremely smooth operation. The windows were ordered and arrived promptly. The staff that installed the windows were well qualified. A job that I thought would be messy, infact caused very little disruption. The staff were professional, clean, they brought a vac with them, and considering three of the windows were 20foot from the ground both inside and outside, they made it seem remarkably easy. the caulking was excellent and we have had extremely heavy rain with high winds and no leak problem was detected. We had spoken to our house painter for him to check the caulking and do any repainting. Nothing was needed. Also Alufab sent along a service engineer who quickly and efficiently repaired a stuck electronic storm shutter for us. We strongly recommend them to anyone concerned in protecting their homes from hurricanes

They made an appt., which they had to reschedule. Then after spending a great deal of time chatting while measuring the salesm,an primised to e-mail an estimate within 24 hours. I waited 3 days, called and left a message and never heard back. I used Storm Smart and was EXTREMELY pleased.

Impressed with professionalism of company and their complete service and follow-up. Jack Lengel explained their product and advantages. I wanted shutters to give shade to south-facing windows and add some interest to house's facade. Hurricane protection was an added bonus but rest of house is not protected so this wasn't really critical in purchase decision. Liked working with the office staff to keep me informed and schedule everything. I was very concerned about damage to stucco and paint during installation. I was told this shouldn't be an issue and it wasn't. Installers left house and landscaping undamaged. I am very pleased and have had many compliments on the "new" exterior look of house. I also notice south facing rooms do not feel as warm in late afternoon since shutters were installed. I think the company is competitive, if perhaps a bit "pricey" but when I saw the quality compared to other installations I have seen in the neighborhood I was convinced the expense was worth it, overall. And I liked the fact that Alufab USA manufactures these shutters themselves. I feel having local control over the entire process is an advantage to them and their customers.

First of all, we are very particular about the work done on our home. We shopped almost every supplier of hurrican shutters in the Port Charlotte, P**** Gorda and Ft Myers area. We found the people at Alufab to be the most informative, answered all our questions and offered the highest quality product. They took us through their factory and explained everything to us and Hugo spent a lot of time just talking to us and explaining the product. Bill came out and did an estimate answered more questions and took his time with us. Then Marco who is the techie did a fine tuning of the measurementsand explained any options we might have. They said it would probably be two weeks but they we actually able to start a week earlier. They came on time...worked neat and quiet (except for the drill motor) and in two days they had 26 openings covered with shutters including the extra security locks. We had every kind of window double front door, arched windows, triple sliders, eliptical, and they did it all. They used drop cloths on the lanai ( I said we were particular) and when they left everything was neat and clean. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this company to anyone and if we were in need of their services we would certainly go back to them Our total price was just over $14,000. and no one could beat the price or quality .054 aluminum.

Our experience was very good from Jack the salesman to the installers. All were professional and prompt. We obtained estimates from 5 other firms but found ALUFAB to be competitive price wise and a pleasure to Do business with.
