+ 0 moreScreen Doctors was the only company that would take on the job, or competent enough to do the work. One company we called for a quote came in, looked at the job for about a minute and said the work couldn't be done. We have two large sliders on the back of our house but no screens were ever put on. Screen Doctors did a custom job for us building a slider screen for one of the sliders, the other is a screen that lowers from the ceiling from inside. Their two employees (I'm sorry, I didn't catch their names) were very friendly and professional and kept us informed on everything they were doing. We can finally get a nice breeze blowing through our house and couldn't be happier. We definitely would hire The Screen Doctor again and recommend them to friends.

+ -1 moreThey replaced my screens in the rain and in the process the white paint they used to touch up my pool cage ran onto the new screen. I have multiple white paint marks on my new screen. They did come back out to take a look but said it would come off after a few good rains. It has been a few months now (and in the summer rainy season) and unfortunately the white paint is still there. I wouldn't recommend letting them install if it is raining. It should look brand new after you have it all replaced but it doesn't.

Company was provided with my cell phone number and new residence address. I have never even gotten the courtesy of a return phone call in the last eight weeks or so. Not a proper way to run a business.

+ -1 moreI went someplace else. The estimate was fine. They guy was from New Hampshire which I am. So, everything was excellent. It just cost too much. They came and they were punctual. I would not use them in the future. I would go to my other guy because he is half the price.

Description of Work: The Screen Doctor of Lee County fixed the wheels on the screen and on the glass door, but the lock was broken. They have not gotten back to me on whether it had been fixed. It has been a couple of weeks now.

+ -1 moreHe did a good job, but they are very expensive. It was like twice than anybody else would have been, but he did a decent job. I really would not recommend them. They were just too high. The quality was good though. I believe he was late. They got there that day, but he was probably I think an hour late. It really did not matter because I was at home anyway, but it was aggravating because you do not know whether they were coming or not. Their professionalism was okay.
Description of Work: The Screen Doctor of Lee County totally replaced a panel of the screen door and then, one screen panel.

+ -1 moreThat worked out well. They took the time to find out what I needed and solved the problem. I was surprised that they had a solution for my problem. You can't have a screen door with double doors. It just can't work because there's no central post but they were able to figure out how to do it. The price was reasonable.
Description of Work: They installed a double front door with a screen so that I could get a breeze. When I lost a piece, I went to their shop and they handed it to me.

+ -1 moreThe scheduling was slow. Getting the bid took several weeks. Scheduling an install date was extremely slow. I had to change the date for installation soon after it was made and this began unfriendly emails from the owner. I wanted to refund the deposit because of the long delay. I had also inadvertently signed my contract on wrong line, and this was of great concern to Screen Doctor. I am very fortunate to have Screen Doctor cancel my contract and issue a credit card refund. The references I called did not give high ratings to Screen Doctor's work, so I was glad to find another screen contractor. Coastal Environmental, Inc., had great references and completed a much nicer job for my project that was more extensive than Screen Doctor had proposed.
Description of Work: An estimate was provided, taking several weeks and several phone calls. I signed the contract and gave the deposit of 25% (over $1700.00) to schedule installation. There was problems with scheduling (I had a conflict) and I it was going to be several months from the deposit payment to the installation due to Screen Doctor's busy schedule. The emails became very hostile from the owner from Screen Doctor when discussing payments, refunds, scheduling, and signing on the wrong line of the contract. Screen Doctor refunded the deposit and did not want to do the job. I am very thankful for the cancellation and refund. I was able to find another screen company who did a complete renovation of my screen including an acrylic polyurethane coating. I spent about 4% more with this other company, Coastal Environment, but got much more product, better customer service, and am very satisfied. I highly recommend Coastal Environment, Inc. to do any screen enclosure jobs. Their phone number is 239-481-6807. I would be wary of doing business with Screen Doctor based on my experience.

+ -1 moreWe visited the Screen Doctor, as they are located within a few miles, so they could check our remote because the screen would not roll up at all and the cars were trapped in the garage. We propped up the screen with a ladder until they could provide an estimate as this all occurred on the weekend. They came out the following Monday and advised we needed just a new screen rebuild, or "retrofit"', new aluminum tracks, new weight bar, with the new white super screen, but no new motor. When the estimator came, he found our electrical plug was bad & needed to be fixed, so our remote was not the problem. On July 8, 2014, we agreed to the price of $1022., plus the 1st house call cost. We requested the 10% as an Angie's List member, therefore, came to $922. Total. They requested 50% to order the parts which would take about two weeks. The order came & was installed by 7/22/2014. They arrived on time, completed the work professionally and to our satisfaction.
Description of Work: We had to replace our old screen we had originally purchased from Skeeter Beater due to aging & wrinkles which caused it to pull loose at the sides and the remote button quit working.

+ -1 moreHis price was more. As it turned out, I only asked him for one panel. It turns out that the panel was connected to another one. He actually didn't even have it because he gave me the estimate for the whole lanai so I had to go out in my underwear because I was eating dinner and just went there and measured it. To me, it looked like just one panel. It took a while for them to respond to me. They came when they said they would. My sister used Screen Doctor because I recommended it and they did the same thing to her. She had one panel she needed and they kept wanting to replace everything because it was bad.

It was a finer mesh, so he really supported the need for our particular home. They came, they were efficient. One thing that is the most important to me, is they were dependable and cleaned up after themselves. And they always worked on time and on schedule.
