+ -1 moreTheir service is great, but their cost is out of line. I did not even realize how outrageous it was until afterwards. The air and heating works fine, they did a good job. Afterwards, I was talking to a friend of mine who does the same kind of work, and he asked me what I paid for that. It was way of line of what I should have paid. They didn't put in any new air ducts; they probably should have done that because this house was built in 1900. We have stopped having them come out, because my brother comes and cleans the furnace for us once a year. About three years ago, we just said that we are not going to keep up on the maintenance thing with Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning. It's not a bad company; it's just that when somebody can get the work done for a whole lot cheaper, I can't see people pay that kind of money. They guarantee their things, but in order for that guarantee to stand I have to then get a maintenance contract with them that I have to keep paying on, in addition to the paying the high price for it being installed. We would not use them again in the future.
Description of Work: We used Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning, and they put in a new furnace and air conditioner.

+ -1 moreWe pay them $18 a month and it’s a deal that we have. We’ve had them for years and they are very good. We got some other estimates and they were comparable in terms of price. They were all above within a couple of $100 from each other. They always call when they’re coming. They are here within a two hour window. They cleaned up very well after themselves. We will use their services again in the future.
Description of Work: We used BW Service Experts for heating and air conditioning. We last used their services in January for the service of our furnace. They installed the units for us a few years ago. They come out twice a year for its maintenance.

+ -1 moreThe important thing with Service Experts was told to us by their repairman. He said that the company was "going national". They were firing local people in management and centralizing services. He said that repairmen with the longest seniority (and highest salary) were being let go. I obtained confirmation of this when calling this summer for yet another A/C problem. Instead of a local receptionist I had to wade through a digital obstacle course. When I got a real person, he was in Texas. We have not renewed our contract with Service Experts. Using Angies List I found a local company, Core Air, which in one visit found many of the problems. Turns out that when Service Experts installed my new A/C unit they used many of the parts from the old, smaller unit. This caused the series of preventable repairs. I would not recommend Service Experts. They have gone from average to below average in quality.
Description of Work: Service Experts installed a new A/C unit in our house 3 years ago. This latest was another in a series of repairs to that unit. This involved the drain line. Previous repairs have been to the ducts and evaporator. Somehow there was never a warranty. Service Experts sells tiered service plans which offer "discounts" on repairs. In my experience these discounts never amounted to much. They did include bi-annual checkups, which were always OK. Problems that were there, in retrospect, were never found.

+ -1 moreCompany called 1/2hr prior to arrival, as promised. Service person arrived on time, diagnosed the problem immediately, quickly fixed it and left. Only charged for service call. Perfect!
Description of Work: A/C System was not lowering humidity in house. Mike Eoff from Service Experts immediately diagnosed the problem as having the System Fan running all the time. When set to Auto, humidity went down within a half hour.

Also, as I am under their maintenance plan, they come and service me within twenty four hours if I have a problem as I am on their preferred list. They seem to do a thorough job of cleaning and servicing the system when they come.

+ -1 moreIt went from bad to worse. Don't ever hire these people. This used to be a local company, but it is now a national company. What poor performance.
Description of Work: The service tech was called to the house late one cold evening as the furnace had stopped working and I had a service contract with them. The tech looked at the furnace and replaced the thermostat. The furnace still did not work so he put the old one back and tore down the furnace. He told me that the igniter was bad that that he did not have the part available and would not have it until the next day. I am a senior citizen and it was to be 20 degrees. I called my brother who came over and asked him to show him the part. He then called his service people who told him to bring the part over. The tech said I would have to move out. He left, but not before telling me that he had been taking Vicodin and was really tired. The other company came to my house within an hour (Good for Cecil's). He brought the part, BUT then said the part was not bad. After examining the furnace........he said the problem was a loose wire and fixed it in 2 minutes. I also had a service contract at my office. One of my furnaces went bad and I spent around $2600 on a new one, This spring they were to come and service my units, but could not come until July 20th. In the meantime.....one of the units froze up DUE to cottonwood blocking the unit......so much for a service contract. I had another repairman come out and he found that the new furnace was wired incorrectly and when I looked at it there was a hole in the duct work on the new furnace. I have ended my contact and they said I would get a refund, but I haven't. I would never use this company again. Their techs are incompetent.

+ -1 moreWe used this company for many years under contract for annual checks of our 3 units. While we were never really happy, it was convenient and they kept our units working. The service was variable depending on the person that came. Sometimes great, sometimes poor. One of our biggest complaints is they they were always trying to upsell. We have two new furnaces. Very possibly needed them but after the track record we wonder if we really did. Didn't buy the special filters nor the UV lights. We have often said we needed to change. This year we finally did.

+ -1 moreI have a contract with them to take care of my heating and cooling units. I pay them a yearly fee. They are fine. The last time they came out, they were on time. They were thorough. I was satisfied with them. The price is very good. I think I got the best deal for the money. My husband did look at a couple of different contractors before finalizing this company. They are very responsive and their quality is great. They are very professional. They wear booties around the house. They are very careful with the things around the house and they explain everything. I will continue to use them in the future.

I thought Lennox was a superior product for the furnace soscheduled time for instalation. The crew was efficient and professional. All work was completed as agreed andthey left the house clean and everything working correctly. Also followed up to see if I was satisfied

+ -1 moreThey were absolutely wonderful. They checked over our boiler to make sure it was in working order. They are just the nicest bunch of people you would ever want to meet. They showed up early for their appointment and they really explained the process in a way that I could understand. They didn't talk down to me because I am a woman. The people in the office were very nice and the employee they sent was very professional. I like to ask a lot of questions and be informed and they had no problems answering all of my questions. I thought the price was pretty good, too. We are in a new house now and I plan to use them in the future for another heat pump installation.

+ -1 moreDiscovered the a/c was not working late Friday night. Called Service Experts who are available 24 hours and they came first thing Saturday morning. After inspecting the unit and discovering that the pipes were frozen and that it did not appear to be the motor, he discovered the compressor was bad. The part was replaced and after explaining everything and what to expect, including the melting ice, the a/c was running again within hours.
Description of Work: The a/c unit's pipes were frozen solid. Had a new compressor installed after inspection. He installed it and explained exactly what to do and how long to wait (for the ice to melt) and the a/c was working again in a few hours.

+ -1 moreI knew there would be a $100 service charge, but the transformer was replaced at a cost of $151. I thought that was a little excessive for a 24 volt transformer and checked around and found transformers from about $14 to $45. I complained to the company, and they refunded the whole $151 price of the new transformer. If I have to use them again, I will ask for the price of the part before they replace it, other than that I am completely satisfied.
Description of Work: The furnace would not work because the 24 volt transformer had burned out. I replaced the transformer with a new transformer and it burned out as well. The repair man found that the thermostat was blowing the 24 volt transformer. I had a spare thermostat and he replaced the 24 volt transformer, and everything worked OK.
