Description of Work: My Honda 9,9 hp outboard would not start and I wanted the service done on the dinghy so I would not have to lug the 90 lb rig to a shop. Jose arrived the same day, rebuilt the carburetor, removed water from the storm Irma, all at my slip. Prompt good service

+ -1 moreI took the boat on sea trials yesterday and it runs as good or better than new! Actually, it scared me a little briefly as when I went to full throttle the boat jumped to 41 mph so quickly that I was surprised at the power. This is on a catamaran, a 5000 pound boat. The boat and engines are 10 years old. Joseph was friendly, honest and very professional. It is delightful to find a good service person, as this area is full of incompetents service techs and crooks in boating and dock lift service, with no way of finding out other than word of mouth or the hard way; I and two of my neighbors were scammed in the past out of thousands of dollars.
Description of Work: Joseph repaired and serviced the two Yamaha 150 hp outboards on my boat at dockside. (my dock). I had a former service person that had botched the job and stolen the hydraulic lift & trim off my boat. Joseph was very skilled and profession, explained every thing he was doing, provided me a detailed list of parts with prices and completed the job within two days. He installed a refurbished hydraulic lift and trim, replaced spark plugs and gaskets, replaced all zincs (used to prevent corrosion), overhauled and replaced parts on water pumps and greased and filled with fluids. He solved a consistent problem I had on the Port engine in that it at times it would starve out and not go past 3000 rpm; he did this by repairing and repositioning the fuel primer bulbs. The fix worked great and it was inexpensive. He clearly explained the difference in performance between original Yamaha parts and after market components. He used all original equipment parts. I am an engineer, so I am not easily hoodwinked...everything he said made sense.
