By using the Angies list free second opinion coupon, we found out that our air conditioner would probably last for 2 or more years and we were able to get a service contract to cover the unit for that time period. Very professional and helpful, with the integrity needed for this profession

Description of Work: The coil was cleaned and reput back into the air conditioner and capacitor replaced.

Description of Work: My A/C unit wouldn't start. The service tech couldn't find a problem when he got there because it started just before he came. He gave the unit a complete inspection while he was there. Very professional thing to do rather than just leave.

Description of Work: We knew we needed to replace our 15 year old Trane air conditioning system as the unit was starting to trip the outside breaker on a regular basis. We contacted four companies to compare prices, service and equipment. We chose two of the companies from Angie's List, one from a neighbor's recommendation, and the last was a company we had been using to service our old unit. We received an estimate from Coastal Cooling on 8/19/2010 from Alan Zajack, the owners son. Alan gave us the information we requested and was very accommodating to make sure that we were comparing the same efficiency (SEER) rating air conditioners and warranties. He also pointed out that our duct work, although original to our 1973 house, was in good condition and that the installers would test to see if there were any leaks and would seal them during installation. After comparing the four estimates, we chose Coastal Cooling based on the equipment (Trane), the price ($ 1708 less than the other estimate for the same Trane equipment), and the courteous way we were treated by Alan and on the phone by the office personnel. Our equipment was installed on 8/30/2010. It could not have been a more positive experience. The four installers were courteous, knowledgeable, clean and did not hesitate to answer all our questions. They even offered some valuable advise about protecting our home from electrical surges. When they removed the air handler from the attic, one of them suggested that we might have had a longer lived unit if we had had it serviced. Imagine his surprise when I told him we had paid to have it serviced twice a year during the three years that we have owned the home! He pointed out the areas that had not been properly taken care of and I will follow up with the other company on those issues, as well as submit a report on that company to Angie's List. The installers were at our home from 9AM until after 5PM. They did not leave until they had fully tested the system, including sealing a couple of duct leaks, educated us on the use of the new digital programmable thermostat and cleaned up after themselves. It was only then that we were asked for payment. They never asked for a deposit. Not that we were not prepared to do so, but it is quite uncommon to have a business be focused on service and not just the money. All in all, we were supper impressed with the professionalism and quality of this company and it's employees.
