I would not only not recommend Coastal Cooling as an option or as a trustworthy company, I would advise clients to steer far away as their inability to correctly install and dishonesty in our situation should be seen a red flag for anyone. In 2022, we hired Coastal Cooling to install a new AC. It wasn’t working right so after 7 days we asked if they could come back to check on it. They sent out a technician and it took 2.5 hours to correct mistakes after the initial install, which included a leaking main unit and a missing pipe for white vinegar. Then, on Dec 16th of 2024, the thermostat panel in the living room showed black and was not working. We phoned Lennox as we thought the warranty had already expired and were told by them it was still under warranty, so we phoned Coastal Cooling, the company who installed the AC, and they sent someone over to see what the problem was. The technician they sent disconnected the thermostat, opened the AC unit, and to the best of our knowledge checked everything. After 30 minutes he told us the thermostat was broken, but was still under warranty, therefore making the replacement free. To have the Costal Cooling technician there for maybe an hour cost $149. The next day Coastal Cooling called and said they had new thermostat, which we were informed would be free because we were still under warranty, but they were going to charge $225 for the installation cost. As all the wires were still connected, and all that was needed was a new thermostat, which as they said would be free, and their technician would only have to replace the panel and check if it all was working would cost that much, we refused service. We went back and phoned Lennox who agreed it was indeed very expensive, but told us it out of their hands. We ended up purchasing a new Honeywell thermostat panel via Amazon and tried to install it but ended up calling the Honeywell help center twice, who were unfortunately unable to assist. So we reached out to another AC company who came to the house and checked the entire system for us. We were informed by them that the problem was in the AC unit itself, and the thermostat was NOT broken. Thankfully, they were able to fix all the mistakes Coastal Cooling had made and overlooked during their initial and recent visit. This company may come across as reputable, but based on their actions on the phone as well as the multiple installation problems, I would not trust them to accurately do their job and they are not welcome to step foot in my home again. It should also be noted that I did leave a review on their website, which was removed by them the day after it was posted, hence you will see this review in other places, not their site.

They are very thorough, they explained the service very well, they are pleasant to work with as well as the office staffs, reasonable in price and I highly recommend them.

we had a costal cooling unit installed back in 2017 with a 10 year warranty by trane. In december of 2019 we started having massive aluminum flakes blowing out of ducts onto our living space. the unit failed in January of 2020 we called for repairs the service tech Mike showed up and made a temporary repair. they documented the corrosion of the system for trane and warranty by Tim Larkie (the sales rep.) its been months and they have not repaired the system and now it is leaking water in the ceiling of our home. our home is being destroy and they don't seem to care. There might be significant heath risks from the massive aluminum oxide poisoning.We do not recommend Coastal Cooling or a system by trane.We keep calling them to please come repair this and they don't call back.

The service work they've been out a few times to maintain it nothing wrong with it.

The 3 man crew arrived on time and were very professional. They did a great job. John the owner was very responsive to our questions. He made unit recommendations based on our concerns for a quiet unit. We are very happy with the new system. We would definitely hire this company again!

I have a service plan with them. They are an A company. I have had them for years.

I highly recommend Coastal cooling. I searched and got bids for a new AC Unit in my condo. They gave me a good bid, and when I finally settled on Coastal cooling, it was because of their great reputation, good referrals and I had a gut feeling about them. I cannot speak highly enough about how great they were during the installation process. Two men came from the company, they spent about 4 1/2 hours, to install the whole unit. They were professional, clean and when finished they walked me through each part of the new unit, inside and out, recommend how to keep it efficient, and well maintained, and went step by step over the thermostat, and would not leave until I felt all my questions had been answered. They also took away my old unit and cleaned the area before they left and it looked terrific. They did not oversell me an expensive unit, gave me what they felt was best for my condo and they recommended their annual maintenance, but again, did not over sell or push their contract at me. I will sign up for an annual maintenance with them, because they were so good. I felt very comfortable with them in my home, they were very nice, respectful of my home, kind and professional. Thank you Coastal Cooling, you did a terrific job and I am grateful that I settled with your company to install my new AC Unit!

I have never experienced a more disappointing, stressful, or incompetent relationship with a service provider in my life. And, all of this after finding favorable reviews of Coastal Cooling on Angie's List! Over the course of approximately 18 months, including 12 months subsequent to the installation of a new $6,500 air conditioning unit, we dealt with both field technicians and the Field Supervisor at a minimum of each and every six weeks. Periodically and reliably during that time, the condo would fail to cool. Each time, the Coastal Cooling field representatives attempted to diagnosis what they thought "might" be wrong with our unit without providing reasons for why the cooling problem continued to exist (chronic and repeating problem) and without validating their diagnoses with test results, and without discussing viable alternatives to resolve the issue. We found the Supervisor in particular, as being rude, unprofessional and unresponsive. In fact, this Supervisor has sullied our good standing in the community by communicating to others, including the new buyers of the condo, that we knew that there was a leak in the AC system and chose to either (1) ignore it; or (2) hide it from the new buyers. He is wrong at best and maliciously mis-leading at worst. I will never use this company again, for anything, nor can I recommend it to anyone. Our experiences have been nothing short of a nightmare.

All was fine and just replaced the filters.

They repaired the unit. When I checked the air unit, they were screws and gaskets missing. I had to fine them on the ground and replace them back myself. For the amount of money I payed, I should have gotten service.

We have lived in this area since 2005 and for the first five years we struggled with every single one of the several companies we hired to service our AC. In 2010 we had to change our unit and decided to look for a company recommended by Angie's List. We have been working with them ever since and could not be happier with their service. I recommend them to all my friends. They are knowledgeable, honest, and professional. I know that I can fully trust them. I give them an A+ in every area.

Good installation experience. Punctual and competent installation. Cleaned up well. Due to the long run of tubing from the condenser to the unit, there was a small leak in the refigerant tube. This caused the A/C to run constantly after the refigerant leaked out completely. After two separate visits, they detected the issue and fixed it for good. The issue was not part of their installation, so I appreciated their detective abilities and their fixing it at no cost.

Air conditioner broke they came out. when it was working it never cooled good. He recommended a larger unit gave us a great price on a Trane replaced it took the old one. No mess no hassle excellent work.

A few slight missteps in the installation, but overall a good job.

They installed our whole system three years ago and we bought the lifetime maintenance at that point. They are awesome. They are the most wonderful company going. They are incredible. These guys wear cute blue little booties. They clean up their messes and they even vacuum up after themselves.

I have used Coastal Cooling for 3 years -- they come out every 6 months for maintenance on my units. They are extremely professional and quality is excellent. I highly recommend them!

The cost was very high for service provided, Company charges fees for diagnosis of problem $ 150, and additional fees for repair $390 and additional fees for routine service, $100.00. The unit was installed new by Coastal Cooling in 2010

They did a great job, but you have to watch them around your bushes because they brake all the limbs and don’t tell you.

He is excellent. He is very trustworthy and kind and responsive.

We like them a lot. They were here on schedule. They knew exactly what they needed to do. They accomplished everything and were out of here by 1:30, all cleaned up and everything so we like them a lot. It's still early days yet and the A/C is working fine.

Then in June 2014, the system started not cooling again and this time I called Mark's Heating and Cooling. He found that indeed the coils were leaking. Mark added the cooling agent AND injected a substance he called "Stop Leak" into the system. He said it may or may not work and that if it did not work, I would have the choice of replacing the coils or the unit. Bottom Line: Both companies did the same thing but Coastal charged me $466.00 and Mark's Heating and Cooling, Lehigh, FL went the extra mile to at least see if the 'Stop Leak' would work AND charged me a much lower rate: $272.00.

Reliability and cost keeps me coming back! We've had 2 techs out. I'd like it if they'd narrow down their window of arrival time to 2 hours.

Water was leaking through a ceiling mounted smoke alarm. Technician, Mike Guida, quickly determined that the condensation drain line support had failed allowing the line to kink and fail to drain. He installed a new support, ensured proper drainage, checked air conditioning unit, and ensured proper operation. He was prompt, courteous, and professional. When all was said and done, he asked if there was anything else he could do before he left. My mother complained her tv wasn't working properly and he fixed that too! I highly recommend Coastal Cooling.

The Tech name is Tim Larkey. He was very polite. He was very informative. He did not call ahead. Which would have been nice. However everything else was excellent. He even spoke to my husband personally after I asked him to to explain the water safety floor switch. He was here an hour and did a great job. *Provider came back out on 6/12/14 to fix my air conditioner. It was a very confusing experience but they still did a good job. There needs to be better communication.
