Renu Ceilings

I'm quite happy with the quality of work Renu Ceilings did in removing the popcorn ceilings, and applying knock down texture. Their team was also quite responsive and professional. I highly recommend them!

Horrible, we were left with bulging walls. After a poor text message apology and me threatening me contact Angie's List for a review, he said he would take care of this. The only praise I would give this company is their worker Dale because he was the one that came back to complete the job correctly. I would only recommend this company if you can be assured Dale will work for you. I would give them an "F" for the first time around and an "A" for the second time around for Dale because of his professionalism.

had phil come out for an estimate for textured ceilings. he told me it would be a close to a week before he could send out a team. i told him that i was working under a tighter timeline than that and the next day a truck of guys came out and removed the popcorn, covered everything with plastic, sprayed the texture, and cleaned up in a matter of hours. very impressed with their efficiency. had a few spots come off as i was painting and they were out the next day to patch no questions asked.

Excellent work and they cleaned up everything afterwards. They were punctual and very professional. We are very happy with the results.

Went very well. Pricier than I would have liked, but you really do get what you pay for, i.e. the quality and look is fantastic and the service was wonderful from the estimator, office staff and work crew. They came/went so quickly and were so diligent/precise/clean, you would have never known they did the work until you look up.

Five workers in all did the job in 2 full days. All went well.

I thought the price was reasonable and like their quality and responsiveness. I also had something that they could not do due to stuff in the way. However, when I moved it a couple days later they came back and did the closet.

Outstanding people to deal with! We just bought a townhouse in Doral, FL with water damaged knock-down ceilings and wanted all the ceilings in the house to be smooth like the rest of the homes we familiar with in the Mid Atlantic States. Form initial phone call through onsite estimate through crew arriving on time (crew of 7 men to perform work) Re-Nu people completely covered interior of house with plastic wrap and then the got to work on ceiling I thought this would be a two week project, but they did the work in only TWO DAYS! allowing me to continue my renovations Re-Nu has a supervisor come by to check on the work to make sure the workers are doing it correctly and the supervisor kept in contact with us directly. I was concerned about an area of our ceiling where we wanted to install a junction box and did not like what the onsite workers were doing with the size of the cut out-- so all i diid was tell Vito the supervisor and he made it happen the way I wanted it to look After spending over 20 years as an officer in the military I can really appreciate they way these people operate My advice to all people in Florida: Get rid of knock down and popcorn and have a smooth ceiling makeover! looks so much better

All the work was completed in a timely manner. We were very happy with the finished job. The workers were courteous and cleaned up after themselves. We will use them again for any other ceiling problems.

I wanted to have the popcorn removed in the living room, dining room, kitchen / great room, hallways and laundry room prior to painting. In addition to being highly rated on Angie's List, the company was also recommended by my painter who I have used many times. Met with the sales rep Chase on 4/22 to discuss. Originally we were going to go with removal of the popcorn with a smooth ceiling finish. Per Chase, this would be a 2 to 3 day job due to the need to patch and smooth out the ceilings. However, after meeting with our painter, he convinced us that going with Knockdown would save on both price and time and is contemporary with new construction in the So. Fl. market. After talking to Chase, we found out that by doing so, we saved over $1,000.00 and the job would be done in a day. The company's crew showed up exactly as scheduled on 4/29 between 9:30 and 10:00 AM. They completely covered every sq inch of the areas being worked on with plastic, floors, walls, furniture, etc. They were done and out by 4:30PM. No fuss, no mess, everything absolutely perfect. I was fearful of doing this job due to anticipated mess and our floors just having been replaced. However, I am having the area re-painted next week figured we would take the plunge. Rest assured, if you use RE NU, they will be in and out in no time and everything will be left perfectly clean and the job will be expertly completed on time for the price quoted.

I was very happy with the quote, scheduling and service. They showed up on time and they were careful o protect the rest of my home from dust.

During one of the torrential rainstorms this summer, my roof leaked, allowing rain water to pour down into the house along the hallway connecting two bedrooms and a bathroom,and damaging the ceiling in one of the bedrooms. I called five roofing companies from Angie's List for estimates,and chose Tiger Team Roofing (great company ! ). Gary Chester said that there would be a term of several weeks before they could begin the work and so he advised that I drill holes in the damaged ceiling to allow rain from future storms to freely fall without pooling up in the attic and causing mold build-up. I asked a contractor I had hired before about repairing the damaged ceiling. He said that because the hallway connected to a large family room, there would be no place to stop the repair without its being obvious, so he recommended doing the entire ceiling all the way to the living room on the opposite side of the house. The estimate was over $2000. I checked Angie's List and found a review from a customer of Re Nu Ceilings who described my exact situation and stated that you could not possibly tell where the new ceiling joined the old. I called them and Chase said that they would indeed be able to fix only the damaged hallway and bedroom and quoted a price of $500. Unfortunately, they do not do the finish coat of paint, but recommended a painter to me (Charles Michel - excellent ! ) A few days later, three men came, hung sheets of plastic from floor to ceiling to enclose the work area , and in several hours had the entire job completed. Cost- $400. The entire job - with two contractors- was done beautifully for $900.

Efficient, prompt and pricey

Chase came out to give me a price to remove popcorn texture from most of my first floor ceilings and replace with knockdown texture. He was very prompt and answered all my questions. The price I thought was fair and was similar to the other company I called. The guys who performed the work were very neat and worked quickly. I will use them again when we're ready to do other sections of our house.

The staff was very professional. I called on a Wednesday afternoon and their estimator Chase came by the next day, as scheduled, for an estimate. This was a very small project 5x5 bath. The crew that did the job showed up the very next day and did the job. The crew chief Shannon was very professional, answered all my questions and did a beautiful job.

They arrived on time. Was very Professional. Kept things neat an clean.

Love my ceiling now. They took down all of my popcorn. The job they did was great. The only complaint I have is they told me to take down the light fixtures, but did not tell me to take down the smoke detectors and air conditioning vents.

they showed up on time and did a nice job. there were some minor problems and as soon as i called the company, they immediately responded and came back. i was totally impressed with their professionalism and their commitment to getting the job right. a pleasure to work with.

They arrived on time and started work immediately. Even though it was a very messy job, they covered everything with 2-3 sheets of plastic and their clean-up was amazing!!! You would never know they had been there if you didn't look up at the ceiling. Job was done in less time than expected. Would highly recommend them!!

Removed popcorn in 2 bedrooms including both walk-in closets and finished ceilings with knockdown. I have used them before for the rest of the house and they were just as reliable and professional as ever.

ReNu Ceilings did just that, they renewed my ceilings! Fast, efficient, and well done! They come in, cover everything with plastic and lightly spray ceilings with water and as soon as the popcorn is wet they scrape it off! Then the drywallers get to work. I wanted a smooth ceiling throughout the house and the workmen worked hard, on stilts no less, to get that done. The whole job was complete in two days. Excellent!

I honestly cannot say enough about this company. From the estimate to the completion of the job I was extremely satisfied. They left our house as they found it. The crew was very friendly and knowledgeable. They took care of every little detail that needed attention even if not on the original estimate. I would not even consider using another company. Thanks guys!!!!!

We have a house watcher for our Florida home where the work of Renu Ceilings was performed. Renu was to scrape the texture off our ceilings. When we went down to Florida to view the job we were very horrified. Our very expensive antique Murano Glass Chandelier was destroyed. Our house watcher lowered the plate from the chandelier so that Renu could do their work and the chandelier was intact at that time. However, not only was our glass chandelier broken, but it was put back to make it look as if it was intact. Not only were they negligent but SNEAKY as well. There were 10 glass leaves surrounding metal fittings. To our horror and dismay the remaining nine leaves left - (and one was completely broken off at the end) were settled around the fittings to insure the chandelier would "sit" properly and not tilt over to one side. Upon closer inspection, I got up on a chair and looked down at the chandelier and many of the leaves has big chunks of glass missing. So, not only did they break the chandelier, but they made it look as if nothing had happened. We wrote to Phil Williamson and called him many times to come over and inspect the chandelier but he refused. He refused to make restitution and said we should consult our insurance company. He said his workers could not possibly have done the damage and tried to blame our house watcher. The replacement value of our beloved antique is $5,000 to $8,000. We wrote a second time to Williamson after our insurance company said they would not pay. Our insurers said Renu needed to contact their insurers. Our last letter to Renu was in October. Fair warning to all who want to use this company - make sure you get something in writing in case they break anything dear to you. Make sure Phil Williamson will make good on anything he destroys in your home. Or better yet - use someone else who will properly care for your items.
