Renu Ceilings

I called because of the reviews I read online and made an appointment for Friday, 5-13-16 from 1-3 pm. Mary said, Chase would be coming out and would call first. I explained to Mary, not to call, that I would be here. I also explained that I do not have a cell phone and only have one line into the house in one room only and I might miss the call. Mary said Chase would come out anyway. On Thursday, 5-12-16, Mary called again, leaving a voice message, to confirm the appointment. I called back and asked if Chase could come earlier? Mary looked at his schedule and said, no, he is booked. Mary said he would call a half hour before arriving. I told her I did not want the call. I again reiterated that he should not call before coming. On Friday, 5-13-16 at 10:16 am Chase left a phone message wanting to change the appointment time. I called him and he made a big deal out of trying to change the time because he did not want to go to Palm Beach County and then come all the way back to Broward County for my scheduled appointment. I had already scheduled my day but since Chase was pushing the change I raced back from what I was doing, in Boca to meet with him. I went out of my way to accommodate Chase. This was a mistake, as I later found out, as it is their way or the highway. Phil Williamson then sent me a written proposal that was virtually unreadable. This was very unprofessional. I had to contact them again to get a readable proposal. I then called Re NU directly to asked questions about the proposal because It was worded different than what Chase and I discussed. From that point on, I got the round around and was lied to. Raven told me Phil Williamson (the owner) was not in when I called. I asked when he would be back so I could call back later. I was told I could not call back. I explained my telephone issue with Raven. I was basically told they did not care and that I would have to sit by the phone at their convenience. I told her I could send my automated scheduler over so Chase could make an appointment with me at both our conveniences. This was refused. I mentioned to her, 4 times that I had to go that I had a conference call at 1 PM. She continued to talk and did not care. I finally said, “I got to go, good bye. After 1pm I received a phone call from Chase saying I was unhappy with the girls. Chase called me after I told Raven for him not too. Chase basically called to hassle me. First off, I spoke to one girl. This girl told me the owners policy is he and his people will never speak to the customer when they call and she can only take a phone number. Second, I was unhappy with the owner’s policy that when a customer calls in they must always leave a phone number and wait for a call. Chase told me Phil Williamson was there when I called. Chase also told me the girls did not know my telephone scenario. This was not true as I told Raven about my telephone system. So what is the truth? First, I was given all the misleading information from Raven that the owner was not in and she did not know when he was going to be back. Then Chase, who is family of the owner, told me Phil was in when I called and listening to the call, then Chase changed his story and said, Phil was there but tied up with a customer on the phone. Any way you try to redirect this or slice it it’s all deceptive and unprofessional. I was to be a new customer. Shame on Re Nu Ceiling for present an unprofessional estimate, deceitful responses, poor customer service and refusing to answer my questions reference the quote. I was treated like scum of the earth and they were god. A company like this who treats people in this fashion will sooner or later lose out. In this specific case, I was treated poorly and unfairly. I would not recommend Re Nu Ceilings. I will make sure to tell everyone I know my personal experience and to not use Re Nu Ceilings.

The service provided is messy business, but this company did a great job in getting everything done in a tidy manner. I was very pleased with the results and the manner of delivery by all involved.

The crew were prompt and very professional. They covered up nearly everything in my house with protective plastic, this was the longest part of the work. The popcorn texture removal itself went very quickly as did the spraying of the knockdown texture. Once completed the ceiling looked great. When they left my the house was almost spotless, no plaster dust or popcorn bits on the floor, very impressive.

This company is top notched from first contact till the job was completed. Chase who came out and gave us an estimate was very professional and efficient. The team arrived at 8 am and was done in 3 hours. The work is excellent and you cannot even tell they were there. No mess at all. We are very impressed as a few years ago when we had our ceiling in the garage done by a different company we had a mess and till this day there are still items in my garage with a white residue.

Work that was done was excellent. Everyone was very professional. Only Snafu was the original schedule date was not kept due to a previous work job problem. The rescheduled date was on time and the workman were organized and neat. The job came out better than expected.

They did an excellent job. They prepped the area by taping brown paper to not dirty my floors, they put up plastic over bedroom and closets to prevent dust from spreading. And they worked efficiently. The owner went above and beyond meeting my requests that were stated but not in writing. I would highly recommend this company...actually I did to my neighbors and they were there working the same day they were finishing my house.

I dealt with Chase on this project. Super guy! He was on it with answers to all my questions and showed up on time. I had drywall installed on 4 walls that had old wood paneling/mirrors before. They scraped popcorn off Living Room, Dining Room and bedroom ceilings and applied knockdown texture. They patched skimmed and shot knockdown on the entire garage walls and ceiling. They also put up drywall on 2 walls in a bathroom. This was a pretty big job and I was amazed at how fast these guys worked. Vito and his crew showed up and knocked out all this work in ONE DAY. It would've taken me over a week to do what they did, easily. Totally worth it. They masked, put up plastic and cleaned up everything. I asked them to leave up window and plastic coverings in garage so I could paint later. Vito came back the next day and hand troweled 3 walls with texture to match the rest of the walls in the house. They were very professional and did a great job. By far the best money I spent on this old house before moving in!

Chase provided the estimate and the work scope as discussed. The crew arrived before the scheduled time and went straight to work - removed the damaged ceiling drywall in the garage and patio area. Replaced the drywall in garage and patio areas and applied knockdown. Removed popcorn in three bedrooms and two hallways and applied knockdown. There was about 6 people in the work crew and finished the work in approximately 4 1/2 hours. They removed the plastic sheeting, vacuumed, swept and mopped the work area. They were very professional. I would definitely recommend this company!

The staff of Renu Ceilings were very punctual and worked diligently. They completed the job within the time frame quoted. The quality of their work was excellent . We are so delighted with our new ceilings, and highly recommend this company!

Updated review: After communicating with Re-Nu ceilings, they mobilized a crew to address the issues noted in my initial review. They re-covered walls and surfaces and re-coated and sanded as needed to produce a smooth, even finish on the ceiling that we were satisfied with. Also, cleanup and restoration of existing wall surfaces was top notch after completing the fixes. Initial review: Pros: Renu was generally easy to work with, punctual, and did a good job covering up furnishings and protecting them from damage during the de-popcorning process. Cons: The workmanship was generally not as good as I had expected. While most of the ceiling is smooth, there are several areas with rough patches, shallow gouges in the plaster, and little pits that were not filled in and sanded smooth. Over the phone, it was explained that the cost difference between a flat finish ceiling and knockdown was due to the amount of labor needed to do a flat finish, and that the overall time needed was significantly longer - however, the three-man crew only spent about 5-6 hours total on the job (about 3-4 hours the first day and only about an hour or two skim coating and sanding the ceiling the second day), and for the price I expected a better quality finish. Regarding cleanup - they contained and removed all the popcorn, but there is a significant amount of plaster left along the top edge of the room (about the width of a strip of masking tape) and they did not fill in their staple holes along the edge of the room.

On time, very efficient , right to work, made sure to cover all necessary areas, and did a nice clean up when they were done.

A three man crew came. It was a fairly small job in the garage needed a piece of drywall about 1.5 feet by 6 feet. A little larger in the Landry room and about 1x1 for the bathroom. Simply put they did their work and a few hours later they were done They cleaned with up the mess and were polite and professional. I would be happy to use them again.

Vito and his crew were professional, ontime, experienced and efficient. They encased my home in plastic wrap to insure a clean job. There was so much plastic it felt like I was in quarintine, but this was a good thing. It took 3 days to complete the job and although I could not be in my home for that period of time, it was best because all other rooms in home are shut off by the plastice barriers. I am very pleased with the end result they did a fantastic job! I received excellent value for the price paid. Vito and his crew were very clean, friendly, polite nice young men and the clean up after job completed left my home cleaner than when they started. Amazing Job!!!

Arrived on time crew came in covered all necessary parts of each room, removed popcorn made all necessary repairs to any existing drywall and installed knock down in Kitchen, Dining Room Master bedroom, two other bedrooms and den. Crew was amazing in and out in about 6 hours and I had nothing I repeat nothing to clean up. These guys were fast, professional and absolutely amazing at what they do. I would recommend this company and they crews to everyone. I also got 3 other estimates and this company was slightly, very slightly higher but really worth the price quoted and more. I am very happy with this service. The knock down finish looks much better than the popcorn we have had for years. What makes this service stand out: (1) they finished the work in one day (my home is 2400 square feet with 3 bedrooms, plus 2 car garage); (2) they did not make a mess (they spent hours prepping and then cleaned up when the work was done). It took me some time to decide to finally get this work done - we had been thinking about it for years. Professional workmanship and minimum disruption to me and my family. I would recommend this company to everyone thinking about getting their popcorn ceilings updated.

It didn't as I never heard from them until 2 weeks later.

I called Renu many weeks ago as part of a larger home remodeling job. Chase came out and gave us a very fair estimate for popcorn removal and for both knockdown and smooth finish. We chose knockdown. When we were ready, scheduling our appointment was easy. On the scheduled date, 3 men showed up right on time around 8:00am, and immediately started lining the house with plastic. By mid-afternoon, they were finished and the house was clean. We couldn't have asked for better service. We highly recommend Renu!

Am looking forward to having Renu Ceilings take down the popcorn and put up knockdown on our new home. They have been very professional and a pleasure to deal with so far, from scheduling with Mary, to Chase providing the estimate and explaining everything in detail. The only reason the Quality Rating is an N/A is because they have not yet performed the work.
