Renu Ceilings

I've been meaning to write this review for a while now. I first called Renu Ceilings after looking for someone to repair a portion of collapsed ceiling in our outdoor screened porch area. I called about a week before Thanksgiving (since we were having about 20 people over for dinner). I explained that a bad leak in the roof had caused a 3' x 3' section of the ceiling to collapse and that the rest of the ceiling had three very noticeable cracks running the full 25 foot length of the room. They sent someone out to have a look and give an estimate. They said it was no problem to fix and gave a very fair price. I then said that I needed the job completed before Thanksgiving. The gentleman that came out said that it may or may not be possible to get it done that quickly, but he'd have someone call me and set up an appointment. The next day I received a call that they could get someone out before Thanksgiving - but it may be THE day before Thanksgiving. Sure enough, around 10am on the day before Thanksgiving, a crew arrived. They were EXTREMELY polite and thorough in preparing the area. Before they started, they painstakingly taped plastic around every wall and over both ceiling fans. (this is in a screened porch, by the way. They also moved out all the furniture and a BBQ grill. They then, taped plastic to the pool deck over the path that they would walk. Once that was done. One of the crew started repairing the collapsed portion of the ceiling with new drywall. Once that was completed, they sprayed and sealed the cracks so the entire ceiling looks brand new! The did a great job. When they were finished, they removed all the plastic and cleaned up everything. They even put all the patio furniture and grill back just were they were. They were very quick. The entire job was completed in about an hour. I will definitely call them again for future jobs.

The work was good. They did a very good job. It was convenient. They usually don't work on Saturdays and they accommodated me by sending someone on a Saturday. I didn't compare their price but it was reasonable. I would definitely use them again.

Wow- What a difference- I have to say I was a bit shocked at the price but you get what you pay for with these guys! The most amazing work and so attentive to detail. Every inch of my house ( Interior) was skim coated for a smooth finish! - So impressive! Great staff, Phil is a great guy! You won't be disappointed!

They have been very responsive and professional thus far, and we appreciate that they have been so accomodating of our busy schedule.

Do get any damage fixed as soon as the cause is fixed and it is comfortable time and money wise. Don't bother calling anyone else unless there is some reason that I did not experience......

I was really pleased with Renu Ceiling, They came to my home to remove popcorn ceiling in the bedroom and repair drywall in our bathroom. They were very professional and worked quickly. I was prepared to clean after, but thankfully they left everything spotless. I still can't believe how they removed that popcorn without a mess. I still have 2 rooms with popcorn in it and looking forward to calling Renu again to have it removed. I will never remove popcorn myself again. Just not worth it. The price was reasonable and did not put me behind my budget. In the bathroom a spot did not come out to perfection, I didnt notice , they did. They sent workers the next day to repair it. DON''T : break your back removing popcorn like I did with the other rooms, DO: Call Renu and sip ice tea. ....PRICELESS. :)

Phil was the most professional of the 3 companies we had come to quote the work. The quote received was a little vague but we paid exactly what he said we would. His quote wasn't the cheapest but Phil came on time and presented himself as a professional. The team arrived when scheduled, on time and finished the work in the amount of time they estimated. They cleaned up everything when they finished. Overall, they did a great job. We're considering doing our family room and would hire them again.

Renu Ceilings were very reliable, very good and very neat. They were reasonable and knowledgeable in what they were doing.

Overall experience was excellent. From the estimate through final job, work was high quality. They showed up on time, did the work in one day and cleaned up. Very little mess and dust considering the type of job. The employees were polite and professional. Could not have asked for better service.

Contacted company to perform the above service. They responded promptly and had the job estimator at my house within a day or so. The date for the work to be performed was set at only a few days from then, crew showed up on time and did an excellent job. Would definitely use again. Highly recommend.

Phil came out and gave me an estimate for popcorn removal and application of knockdown texture. He answered my questions about what the ceiling would look like when they were done and explained that the ceiling would need to be painted after the knockdown had dried. He did warn that some of the paint on my walls may peel due to the tape they use in putting up plastic. My husband and I decided to go ahead with the project and they were able to schedule us within the week. I also lined up a painting company to come in several days after to paint. The ceiling crew came in promptly on the scheduled morning and in about seven hours I had newly textured ceilings. The crew was friendly and hard working. Luckily the weather was nice and I sat out on my porch, as the whole house was encased in plastic! I thought the ceiling looked rather strange right after the process and there was some dust to clean up in the house, and some pieces of popcorn in the yard that I assume had fallen off the plastic sheeting. The house was also very humid from the moisture in the knockdown, but as it dried the AC took care of it. We had our ceilings painted last week and any peeling paint touched up. Several members of the painting crew commented that the ReNu crew did a nice job with the ceilings and wanted the company's name and number. And the ceilings look beautiful!

They did a really good job. They were very efficient and kept everything protected with plastic while they worked. We had no problems at all. My 97-year-old father was around during the work and they were very conscientious of him being there. We are very pleased with their work.

Remember that everything is negotialbe. Try for a better price or see if they can do more for the same price.

I remodeled my entire house. Basically Gutted the house and started over. It's not even close to what it was before. When it came time to drywall I called Phil with ReNu in December and another company. Finding drywallers that would come to Cooper City, FL was difficult. Most of the companies are in Miami or or around Palm Beach since that's where most of the building is. ReNu's price was very compeditive and Phil told me they could drywall and texture the entire house in one week. I had them start in January. 1st day they taped off the entire house, 2nd day they hung all the drywall, 3rd day I past inspection without a problem and they installed all the edge banding, 4th day they troweled everything smooth, 5th day, they shot the texture and cleaned up. Renu also did the drywall repairs in my garage but I wasn't able to get everything out of the way for them to apply texture. That was my fault. The garage had the new appliances and alot of my tools packed in there too. Renu told me to just call when I was ready and they'd come back to finish the garage as well. it would take them about 30 minutes to finish up the garage. Since I do alot of the work on my home myself I'm pretty picky. ReNu did an excellent job. They were on time, on schedule, advised my they were use better products in the kitchen and baths for my specific needs for tile and left the place as clean as possible. They even shot 3 different textures on a wall and let me choose which texture I wanted. the day the mudded the house was the only day they had just 2 guys there. The rest of the time they had 4-5 guys working and I was amazed how much they finished each day. I can't say enough good things about them and will definitely call them back to finish my garage and have already told a number of people about the job they did. I'd definitely use them again.

The Re Nu workers arrived promptly, covered the premises completely with plastic, and completed the removal of the old surface and three coats of plaster in two days, with perfect results and very little mess. Three bedrooms, one bath, kitchen, dining room, and large living room. I would highly recommend Phil Williamson and his company, Re Nu Ceilings to anyone.

Very well, the cleanup was a little more than I expected from other people's reviews, but I'm sure a certain amount of dust is unavoidable with this job.

Our 1950's era house in Pomapno Beach got a new roof, then came the repair of interior ceilings where there were numerous water stains and in some cases, holes through the sheetrock. Renu Ceilings along with 4 other companies provided quotes. I selected Renu because of their responsivenes and professionalism. They were right on time for the quote inspection, answered all my questions immediately, and got the work done in one day with excellent results. Price was not the least nor the most, but reasonable. Would definitely recommend them to friends.

They prepped the area well,but they used a tape that when they removed, took thepaint and plaster right off my walls.

After one storm too many, the ceiling in our florida room was damaged. After having the roof repaired we needed to repair the damage to the old popcorn ceiling in the room. After calling a few other contractors I settled on RENU CEILINGS. They seemed like a proffesional outfit starting with the receptionist that answered the phone to the young men who insisted on sweeping up after they were done. They covered whatever was in the room with tarps and took everything with them when they were done. The ceiling in the Florida room was about 15' x 9', and they had to cut out and replace a 2' x 2' section. Once they replaced the damaged sectioned they scraped the entire ceiling and applied a nice "knockdown" finish. we were very pleased with the outcome. The whole process took just a few hours.

Overall, I'm a bit uncomfortable with the experience. I met the owner, Phil for an estimate. He was nice and good. I felt very confident that they would do a good job based on their reviews and recommendations. Overall, the quality of the workmanship was really good. However, there was a clear management issue with the supervisor, Vito. The guys who were doing the work were not even communicated to by management what rooms were to be worked on. Additionally, despite Anna, the person who organized my job, telling me that the crew knows they are not to use my things, they used a brand new ladder of mine, got it covered with plaster, an antique stool, got it covered with plaster, my refrigerator (we knew from the plaster hand prints and plaster inside the refrigerator, and a brand new bucket of mine with cover which was also more or less destroyed. They later replaced the bucket but honestly I felt violated by this blatant disregard for my personal property and boundaries of what is acceptable behavior in my house. Additionally, the cleaning was extremely poorly done. When they left, all of my floors and walls were still covered with plaster dust. My father spent an entire day cleaning my walls and floors. There was also significant globs of plaster in some places which needed to be resanded and i requested that someone be sent out to fix it and they did send someone out to do it. Honestly, I know that the owner, Phil was not happy about this. I know that he really cares but I do believe that the management of my project was not good. My job was pretty big and I'm pretty sure that this type of thing is not happening on a regular basis at their company based on the reviews, however, it did happen on my particular job. Overall the quality of the ceilings and walls was good but if using them again, I would request a different supervisor be assigned to my job as clearly the management of my particular project was not good. The supervisor was not around at all except at the beginning of the project and to collect the check. Additionally, it took more than 1 month to receive a receipt for the work and I had to call 4 times to finally get a receipt from them, which was frustrating.

Initially, Renu gave me an hour notice for the estimator to arrive- then he still had not arrived 2 hours later. Since they said they don't do estimates on weekends, I had made prior arrangements to get away from work - but only for an hour - so we had to reschedule for a couple of weeks later. Graciously, they again gave me an hours notice again and the estimator was on time. The, the estimator gave me an estimate of popcorn removal and knock down application for 300-400 sq ft of $1150 (2/3 of a kitchen and a hallway so I think it is actually less than that). I was so shocked I didn't know what to say, thinking it couldn't possibly be a scam, but that i must have read the reviews and prices inaccurately. Well, I think it was some form of a scam after all - and I would not recommend this company unless they can give you a basic, and more reasonable, estimate (like a prior reviewer mentioned) over the phone.
