Agility Van Lines

I was the recipient of another moving company not being able to honor their contract. So after parting ways with the other moving company, I was in a quick need for a mover to move my items. I contacted Agility on a Saturday. They were able to squeeze me in the following Wednesday and the following Tuesday I had my items. I was in a pinch and John, Denise and the movers made it happen very quickly. Granted, I was a very small move, so my complexity was not hard. The pricing was fair, Denise and scheduling called me everyday to give me an update, the movers were communicative, Paul was very thorough with all the paperwork. My items arrived with no issues. The only thing I would “warn” you about, is read the “extra” charges very carefully, since the distances/stairs to load or unload your truck may add additional costs that you might not have planned for. Overall, I would recommend them.

I have used movers in the past but I have never had such an amazing experience as with Agility movers. John was the first person I spoke with. He answered a million of my questions in a very professional and understanding way. Through the process of the move I text and called John many times. Every call was answered and every text was returned very quickly. If I were John I think I would have blocked me. He was so patient and professional. Then the day of the move came... I had boxes and furniture and many loose items everywhere. Upstairs, downstairs, bathrooms etc. Henry kept in contact with me from the morning of the move until he and his team got to my house. Henry, Nijah and Malcheous came in and looked at what was being moved. These three men were incredibly professional and competent. Every worry and concern I had went away after talking to them and watching the care they took in wrapping up all of my belongings. I wish I could give each of them 10 stars! They went well above and beyond what was expected of them and they all did it with a smile. The day after the move Denise reached out to me to make sure everything went well and I was satisfied. I could tell she truly cared. The people that work at Agility are second to none! This is the ONLY company I will ever call for any type of a move. The level of caring and professionalism from each and every one of the people I dealt with there has been absolutely refreshing! TEN STARS!!!

Hopefully this review can persuade others from the same mistake I made. Agility was not professional and only made my move harder and more stressful. During the course of my move, I attempted to hire Agility Van Lines to assist. I called, spoke with John and got a quote and a 2 day window for arrival. I paid the 30% deposit, which I assumed would guarantee me a pickup during that two day window. I was told I would contacted the day before the window and be given a 4 hour block of time they would arrive. The day before comes and I do no get a call. I finally reach out via email and calling, to finally be told at 3pm on a Thursday that they would not be coming Friday and could not give me a time for Saturday. The would instead call on Friday and provide the 4 hour block then. Not ideal, but doable. I then wait through out the day Friday, with no contact. Again, I reach out. I was asked if pickup on Sunday would work. This would be outside the 2 day window, and not possible with my moving schedule. I tell them as much. I am then told they would get to me Saturday (the next day) but could not tell me when, other than 'late'. When I asked what they consider late, I was not given an answer, just told that I would be called tomorrow with a time. Saturday comes and my wife leaves in the morning so that we can get into our new home. Around 10 am, I am called by someone from the office and told that they would not be coming that day. No alternative was given, simply "we aren't making it today." Anyone moving likely knows that it is not easy, or in some cases possible, to shift everything two days (minimum) off schedule. No offer was made for a discount or any kind of apology. I cancelled and was able to rent a truck and load/unload it with the help of friends. The only thing that Agility was professional about was the return of my deposit, which was prompt. Otherwise, I was the one reaching out for information and updates, constantly being put under unneeded stress in an already stressful situation.

It has taken me 6 weeks to finally recover from the traumatic and distressing move that I did with Agility from MA to Florida. I am writing this because as a single woman I want to ensure no one, especially another woman, is taken advantage of by the conniving and quite frankly illegal business practices of Agility. My deception began when I found Agility off the very reputable Angie's Listings. Unfortunately my initial local moving company contracted COVID-19 2 weeks prior to my move so I was in need of a replacement. I spoke with John countless times, sent him the MLS listing of my house, including the square footage ( 2219 sq ft 4 bedrooms 3.5 baths) as well as over 26 photos showing all contents of every room in my home. After multiple exchanges on 4/17 John quoted my move at $5,313.13 based off of the1052 Cubic Feet I would need in the truck. The move was promised giving a two day arrival window. With only 24 hours notice I received confirmation the truck would arrive the second day but it didn't! I called repeatedly to confirm my moving date as I was on a tight schedule. I finally heard back at 9PM the night before my scheduled moving date - in which I was informed they would be arriving a day later than scheduled. Upon arrival on 4/23 my movers said there was absolutely no way that the contents of my home would fit in the cubic footage I had reserved. They told me I would need over 1,768 cubic footage of the truck which would increase the price of my move by $3,500 making the total $8,341.57. Additionally the owner of the company Shane insisted that the new total needed to be paid in full upon delivery. These were absolutely not the terms and conditions I had contractually agreed upon. It was the height of the pandemic, not to mention I am a single woman and was packing and moving my entire life completely alone due to required isolation. The law states that the most a moving company can charge is 110% of the increased total at delivery, they did not abide by that. I will be filing a deceptive business practice complaint with the Department of Transportation, Better Business Bureau, and the Attorney General as this company is extremely corrupt and I do not want this to happen to anyone else. I will mention that the three movers were very friendly, professional, and transparent. Clearly this is a top down issue in which management forces poor and immoral business practices on their employees.

They were professional and very responsive to my needs. Issues came up that were my fault and the company was very understanding and quick to help me make things right.

We had an amazing crew. led by Alex, along with Ontario and Damian. They were endlessly positive, energetic, pleasant and professional. They handled every challenge with a can do attitude. We dealt with them at 3 different locations. Each time was perfect. Highly commend and recommend these guys! Before the crew arrived, we had some hiccups with the scheduling and detail of communication. All were resolved with a few calls.

Agility did a fantastic job! Also the team leader Teddy did an excellent job!

The crew is very professional, courteous and polite. Vernon, Damien and Artiozo were our drivers and they were good at what they do.

Agility Van Lines did a great job. They were very professional and pleasant to work with. All for our belongings were delivered on schedule. Nothing was damaged, and there were no issues at all. They were very accommodating and no surprises in the final invoice.

Overall they did a great job. They were responsive and very respectful of my property. However, I did have some extras that were not presented until they showed up for the move. There is some work needed around communication with their customers - need to be more transparent upfront.

Agility contacted me and offered their services and after checking reviews for this company, I hired them for my move from Maryland to Florida. The service I received from John in sales and Shane the owner was superb. However, the crew themselves was outstanding. The foreman was Ontario Alvarez and his helper Damion. Words cannot express the excellent care of our goods and how they were handled by these gentlemen. We boxed most of our goods, but nothing (furniture) was moved out of our house unless it was completely wrapped and protected. We had plenty of fragile boxes, but there was one in particular and they saw that it was very well protected to avoid being crushed. Overall, it was an excellent job done by crew and there was nothing damaged. These movers have what everyone needs in a company, service and professionalism. I highly recommend them. Great job Agility!

I would request Alfred,Cedric, and Dominique if I had to move again! These 3 guys are awesome and excellent handling any furniture, and so polite!

I would definitely hire them again and highly recommend them. I had Ontario, Duke and Raymond come out for this move and they worked well and efficiently together.

We had a lot of stress trying to figure out our moving from Florida to NJ, too many phone calls from too many moving companies and then we talked to John and we felt comfortable making a decision and now we know we made the right one. Cornelius and his crew are the best, they did their best to accommodate our needs, they were prompt and courteous and careful handling our stuff. They picked up Thursday in Florida and delivered Sunday in NJ. We could not ask for a better service. Five Stars to Agility.

From the office to the movers were very professional. Everyone was pleasant and kept me informed of when I will receive my items. The movers put everything item where I wanted and was very professional. I would recommend this company to all my friends and family. I will use this company again.

First let me say that moving a house full of furniture 700 miles on short notice is about as stressful as it gets. I hopped online to research moving companies and and try to obtain some guesstimates. Three companies contacted me within two hours. I spoke to each of them but the one that stood out was Agility. I spoke with a gentleman named Angelo. I say gentleman in the literal sense of the word. This man was patient and very helpful. He was able to spend some time with me on the phone. We discussed the logistics of the move, how he and his company would be handling the entire move from start to finish. He then sent me a detailed written estimate via email that explained the costs and listed each and every item that we were planning on moving. This move was a particularly difficult one for us. The house we are selling is our vacation home and is 700 miles away from where we live. What adds sentiment to this is that my daughter lives in that area and we loved having the house close to her. The saving grace to this is that she has been a huge help. The buyers made us a good offer but want to close in two weeks, on December 23. Scrambling to sort all of this out two weeks before Christmas is crazy. It would be hard enough if we were there but trying to coordinate this long distance was very difficult. After speaking with three different movers, we decided to go with Agility. Most of that reason was because of Angelo himself. I felt very comfortable with him. During one of our conversations he directed me to the Federal Department of Transportation website where I was able to view Agility's records and ratings with the FDOT and that of the other movers we were considering. Agility's ratings and records spoke for themselves. After researching reviews, seeing these records and then getting a written guarantee that I would be allowed to cancel the contract at any time with no cost to me, I was way more than comfortable going with them. As it turns out my wife and I didn't need all of the furniture that we were moving and storing because what we are doing is selling the vacation home in NC, selling our home here in FL, and slightly downsizing into a new, smaller home. With two houses of furniture, wall hangings, and chachkies that won't fit into the new house, my wife wanted just a few select pieces from each house. My daughter took the time to take pictures of what we didn't want up there to post on a couple of local social media sites to see if they would sell. Shockingly, the stuff sold immediately. In fact, she sold most of it in literally two days. Last night she suggested that we sell the rest in a weekend "moving" sale and whatever didn't sell she would take back to her house and try to sell it later when we weren't under the pressure to move out. The few remaining pieces that my wife wanted to keep would go into a storage unit close to our house there and I would move them down the same way I got them up there, via my trailer. So that left me with canceling the contract with Agility. Honestly, I was making the call to Angelo. Let me tell you, he was as nice about refunding my money as he was making the sale. In fact, I hung up the phone with him ten minutes ago. As I am writing this review my email popped up and guess what? He already refunded me my deposit. Folks, let me tell you that as a retired business owner, there has been no better customer service and customer relations than I have experienced with Angelo and Agility. If you are considering a move, whether it be long distance or local, you would be doing yourself an injustice if you did not take the time to speak with Angelo. Let me make it easier for you.
