This company was great from start to finish! John helped review my inventory, discussed options, and was willing to negotiate around final bid and offer. Daniel and his moving team notified me half an hour before they arrived to pick up my household full of "stuff" and arrived as predicted. They worked non-stop for five hours loading my belongings onto the truck then drove to my new home (1.5 hrs away) and unloaded for another 4 hours. Every item of furniture was wrapped and carefully moved. Daniel's team remained in good spirits throughout the move, were very courteous, and placed furniture and boxes where I specified. I cannot give them higher reviews. Would definitely hire this company again, especially if I knew I'd get Daniel and his team! Move size: 4 Bedroom Home

Best experience I’ve had with a moving company (and my family has moved a LOT)! They could not have been more helpful from the start. John, our sales person, was very personable and every time I called or emailed, he remembered our names, and what our special situation was. Because of my father’s illness, and how busy and distracted I can be, I probably did not make it easy for him! I also needed a specific, and possibly inconvenient, date for them to move my father’s condo contents. He really worked with me on that and we got it done. On moving day, Gene and his assistant (his name escapes me), were FANTASTIC. If I pointed out something that needed extra special care, he really listened and gave it extra padding or whatever was required to stabilize it. He mentioned he’d been doing this for 30 years and it showed! He had sturdy ways of packing things that I would not have thought of. He was also SUPER organized so we didn’t have to worry about misplacing the small pieces that went with the big pieces (like sofa legs or cords). And I could see in the truck how carefully he packed things so they wouldn’t get damaged on the long drive from FL to NH. What I really loved was that they checked in with me frequently to give me updates both before and after the move, so I didn’t have to worry, wonder, or nag them for updates. I remember mentioning this to my aunt, (she found them on the BBB site), while I was packing up - “Wow, these guys are great. Good find!” They seem to understand that there’s plenty to worry about when moving, so they try to lessen that. Before the move, Denise and Shane were in touch to confirm things, which made me feel, again, confident in their organizational skills. They never ONCE showed an inkling of bother if I called or texted with questions or concerns. After they moved the furniture out of the condo, they also kept in touch with the status of when it would arrive at the new location, (which, BTW, was quicker than I expected). I’ve worked in a lot of customer facing jobs over the years and I’ve found THE MOST IMPORTANT THING is communication with the customer. To me this shows respect for the customer and an understanding that my money can go anywhere, so there’s a reason to give it to them. You can tell that every employee understands that. Because I’ve had bad moving experiences in the past, I was continually asking John, Denise, Shane and the moving guys on the ground about this or that, and not only did their confidence in their quality of service give ME confidence, but they were just so responsive, organized and careful, that I couldn’t be happier. All our stuff arrived in perfect condition and Steven, Michael and Ivory didn’t just move it out of the truck and dump it in the house, they really helped me get it in the right place, reassemble the furniture if needed, and then never ever made me feel like a bother for wanting something 1 inch this way, or 1 inch that way (I can be really persnickety). Just amazing. They felt like friends. I guess that’s my ultimate compliment and the real headline of my review: The whole staff and crew felt like friends; like I had known them already and knew they would treat me and my stuff like their own. They spoke to me as an individual, not just another customer in a long line of customers. What a relief with what can be a very stressful time!

Agility Van Lines - Worst Move Ever!! We’ve moved 13 times in the past 27 years due to military and government service. This was by far the worst experience ever and I’m writing this to hopefully prevent someone else from going through what we went through. Here’s a quick summary if you don’t have time to read the entire review: - Showed up to do an hour of work the day after they were initially scheduled to arrive - Only does owner-inventory estimate instead of the more accurate and common in-person/video/facetime estimate from a professional estimator; this leads to a low estimate; it sounded like a good deal – read on… - Lack of video or in-person estimate allows for a bait-and-switch type of (con?) methodology, ultimately resulting in our cost doubling from approximately $10,700 to over $21k the first day of the move - Crew was consistently late throughout moving process - Only sent three crewmembers to move a four-bedroom house, resulting in longer than usual packing times - Did not bring enough packing materials. Many things just dumped in wardrobe boxes, despite having made at least one extra trip to Home Depot for packing materials. - Failed to professionally pack the truck twice, resulting in leaving a substantial amount of belongings that cost us an additional $6,000+ for another company to finish what Agility could not for over $21k. - Owner Shane Young deflected responsibility, telling this customer that I had to address an issue with the driver and not him, the owner of the company. - Uses a volume-based model instead of the more common weight-based model for cost. Despite paying for volume, the driver did not fill the second truck and made several comments about how his truck was already overweight. We did not pay for weight. We paid for volume and the truck was not filled. - Please read the reviews for this company online. Not just the good ones, sort by the 1-star and less reviews. Many of them are almost the exact same experience we had with Agility Van Lines. We contacted Agility Van Lines in mid-July based on generally positive reviews on Angi (formerly Angie’s List) and another moving review site ([*** Link removed ***] I did not dig deep enough into those reviews, because although you’ll see several glowingly positive reviews (are these legit?), you’ll find many just like our experience. I should have looked further and also looked at the Yelp reviews, which are a lot more like our experience. There are enough reviews similar to our experience that I have to wonder if any laws are being broken. We will be reaching out to federal authorities to find out. Our initial contact was with John, who sent us a link to their online estimate tool, because unlike every other company we contacted, Agility would not do a video estimate of the size/weight of our household goods. This is an important detail anyone moving should pay attention to and one of the reasons I feel like they rely on customer ignorance to take advantage of them. Get a professional estimate done! On 15 July 2021, John used our online estimate to generate a ‘Binding Moving Estimate’ showing a Total Moving Estimate of $10,701.21. This included full packing and exclusive use of their 26’ moving van for their estimated volume of 1768 cubic foot. There were a couple $100 fees for stairs over a certain number at both pickup and delivery. The agreed upon move date would be Sunday or Monday 1 or 2 August 2021 and would be confirmed a day or two prior via phone call from the company. I believe we received that call on 30 July explaining that they would now be arriving the morning of Tuesday, 3 August. Tuesday morning came and went and when we called to find out when the crew would be arriving, the company had them call us. They explained that they had left that morning from Florida and were delayed in storms in the Carolinas. Clearly they had no intention of arriving Tuesday morning if they left Florida en route to Virginia that same morning. They finally arrived at 7pm and after walking around the house, the driver stated that they wouldn’t be able to take all of our household goods and would need a second truck. After a little math, the driver explained that it would double the price of our move. Not understanding how this was possible, I was put on the phone with the owner, Shane Young, who explained that he needed to confirm we needed another truck and I had to sign another binding estimate on the spot or nothing would be moved. I had already taken off work for that week and selected Agility over a couple other companies, so we were in a tight spot. Either agree to double the initial estimate to pay for another truck or miss more work at an unknown date in the future hoping we could get another company. We signed the second document and at some point the driver or Shane explained that we weren’t actually getting a second truck, but instead would get the same truck making two trips. This would extend the timeframe of our move. But wait, it gets better. We subsequently found out that Shane couldn’t handle the expense of sending this crew right back and instead they would have to take a load to Pennsylvania and then another back to Virginia before being able to get the rest of our belongings. Teddy and his crew were at all times polite and kind. No problem there. I do have a problem with a professional moving company packing by volume without much skill in packing. Little effort was made to efficiently pack the truck to maximize the volume we had paid for. Even less care was taken on the second trip where the truck was not filled despite leaving a garage-full of items at our old house. The driver made several comments regarding the weight of his truck being over its limit, a fact he tried to prove by showing us the tires (?). The problem with this excuse is that we did not pay for the shipment by weight; we paid by volume and the 26’ moving truck we paid for was not full. The crew was only able to work for an hour Tuesday night before they had to leave to a nearby hotel and said they’d return in the morning and call before arrival. They did not call until another Agility employee, Denise, called them to see where they were. They gave us an arrival window of 0830-0930 but didn’t arrive until 1045. Halfway through this first packing day the crew explained they did not have enough paper so we gave them some that was left over from our previous move. They made mention of having to go to Home Depot to get more packing materials, boxes, etc. By 7pm the crew had still not begun loading the truck. They eventually loaded over half of the truck and departed at around 11pm, saying they’d be back by 9:30 to finish packing the truck. They said they weren’t going to get more packing materials because they had enough to load the truck with the items they already packed. They did not call or text in the morning until just after 10:00 saying they were about 35 minutes out. They ultimately left late afternoon/early evening Thursday night and would drive overnight arriving sometime Friday morning. My wife and I loaded a 15ft UHaul about ¾ full and departed at approximately 11pm to drive overnight to our new home. We arrived a couple hours before the crew. Upon arrival, our dining table had a huge gash in the surface and the legs of our coffee table were broken. Although kind, the crew did not point out this damage to us when they placed the furniture in the house. The crew departed to make their other shipments ultimately returning to our VA home on 10 August. After loading for almost two days, they ultimately left a large amount of things in our garages. After spending over $21,000 for moving a four bedroom house, I asked the owner whether he was able to do anything about all of the inaccuracies, delayed times, unexpected cost, etc. He said he would look for available dates and come up with an estimate to move the rest. After calling him back a couple days later, he explained that he was unable to guarantee a delivery date so would not be able to provide the service. During my initial call, I complained about one aspect of the second shipment and Shane told me I had to address the problem with his driver, so I had to remind him that it wasn’t my job to address problems with his employee; it was his (the owner’s) job to do this. On 8 September, we accepted delivery of our remaining household goods by another moving company. The new moving company conducted a video/FaceTime walkthrough estimate and ultimately charged us by weight - $6023.34. So, to recap, our four-bedroom house cost us over $27,000 to move, an amount more than some of our overseas moves cost. Fast forward to mid-December and I still haven’t posted this review, but we just opened a box in the garage that helped motivate me to finish and get the review online. In a wardrobe box where they had dumped various household items, which is nowhere close to the proper use for those boxes, we found a moldy, half-eaten Wawa sandwich! One of the movers left, intentionally or not, a half-eaten sandwich in our moving box. Do yourself a huge favor and find a reputable, professional moving company that doesn’t use bait-and-switch tactics to take advantage of customers.

The original list of items provided by Mr. [Member Name Removed] totaled 208. The actual number of items that we shipped from Mr. [Member Name Removed] residence totaled 362. Mr. [Member Name Removed] states his cost doubled, and he is correct. Mr. [Member Name Removed] reserved one truck of 1768 cubic feet. Mr. [Member Name Removed] used 2 trucks of 3536 thus resulting in the same cost for the second truck. Mr. [Member Name Removed] states we only sent 3 crew members and he is correct. One full truck only required 2-3 crew members regardless of the size of his home. Mr. [Member Name Removed] states we did not bring enough packing materials. We brought more than we needed for what he reserved. Mr. [Member Name Removed] states we failed to pack the truck twice, resulting in items being left behind. That is not correct, we packed 2 full trucks of which he agreed to in writing. I called Mr. [Member Name Removed] on 07/29/21 7:25 pm to review his order to make sure everything was accurate, Mr. [Member Name Removed] removed a riding lawn mower and did not add any other items. We believe a volume-based model is more accurate, thus resulting in the customer knowing the price of the move before we load anything on the truck. Rather than loading the truck and potentially calling the customer after the pickup and telling them they owe more money because it weighed more. A volume-based model allows the consumer to decide before we load the truck whether they want to pay the revised amount if they have additional items. If they do not want to pay the revised amount for additional items, they are given the option to only ship the items originally agreed upon or they are given the option of receiving 100% of their deposit back. Mr. [Member Name Removed] is correct in that there are others who have experienced what he has. No one is happy when they pay more. We are a very good company that cares, and our reputation proves that. Do we have negative reviews? Yes, every company in this world does. Our positive reviews far exceed the negative ones and if issues arise, we try our best to resolve them fairly.

Awsome , Aarons crew delivered my furniture as if it was their own furniture it was a lot but they made it look like a piece of cake with no hicups! They kept in close contact from the time they picked to the time of destination they surely made Agility Van Lines very proud I'm sure. It takes a rare person to do such a job but they are the guys to hire if needed they get the job done! Second crew the same they were very impressive on what they do very careful in placing items working non stop till it was done I never heard any negative remarks but smiles and with respect towards others good job guys! Dennise coordinator she was great always communicated with me trying to see how to make it a painless move. people like Dennise are the ones that don't get credit but she also deserves kodos for setting up and corrodinating the job thanks again.

The move was great! As this was our first move, we had a lot of questions and John very patiently answered each and every one of them. Our closing date was changed was changed and Agility was very accommodating. The movers arrived as scheduled and were incredibly professional. They took really good care of our belongings and it was obvious that this crew takes pride in the work that they do. I was the recipient of another moving company not being able to honor their contract. So after parting ways with the other moving company, I was in a quick need for a mover to move my items. I contacted Agility on a Saturday. They were able to squeeze me in the following Wednesday and the following Tuesday I had my items. I was in a pinch and John, Denise and the movers made it happen very quickly. Granted, I was a very small move, so my complexity was not hard. The pricing was fair, Denise and scheduling called me everyday to give me an update, the movers were communicative, Paul was very thorough with all the paperwork. My items arrived with no issues. The only thing I would “warn” you about, is read the “extra” charges very carefully, since the distances/stairs to load or unload your truck may add additional costs that you might not have planned for. Overall, I would recommend them.

I have used movers in the past but I have never had such an amazing experience as with Agility movers. John was the first person I spoke with. He answered a million of my questions in a very professional and understanding way. Through the process of the move I text and called John many times. Every call was answered and every text was returned very quickly. If I were John I think I would have blocked me. He was so patient and professional. Then the day of the move came... I had boxes and furniture and many loose items everywhere. Upstairs, downstairs, bathrooms etc. Henry kept in contact with me from the morning of the move until he and his team got to my house. Henry, Nijah and Malcheous came in and looked at what was being moved. These three men were incredibly professional and competent. Every worry and concern I had went away after talking to them and watching the care they took in wrapping up all of my belongings. I wish I could give each of them 10 stars! They went well above and beyond what was expected of them and they all did it with a smile. The day after the move Denise reached out to me to make sure everything went well and I was satisfied. I could tell she truly cared. The people that work at Agility are second to none! This is the ONLY company I will ever call for any type of a move. The level of caring and professionalism from each and every one of the people I dealt with there has been absolutely refreshing! TEN STARS!!!

Hopefully this review can persuade others from the same mistake I made. Agility was not professional and only made my move harder and more stressful. During the course of my move, I attempted to hire Agility Van Lines to assist. I called, spoke with John and got a quote and a 2 day window for arrival. I paid the 30% deposit, which I assumed would guarantee me a pickup during that two day window. I was told I would contacted the day before the window and be given a 4 hour block of time they would arrive. The day before comes and I do no get a call. I finally reach out via email and calling, to finally be told at 3pm on a Thursday that they would not be coming Friday and could not give me a time for Saturday. The would instead call on Friday and provide the 4 hour block then. Not ideal, but doable. I then wait through out the day Friday, with no contact. Again, I reach out. I was asked if pickup on Sunday would work. This would be outside the 2 day window, and not possible with my moving schedule. I tell them as much. I am then told they would get to me Saturday (the next day) but could not tell me when, other than 'late'. When I asked what they consider late, I was not given an answer, just told that I would be called tomorrow with a time. Saturday comes and my wife leaves in the morning so that we can get into our new home. Around 10 am, I am called by someone from the office and told that they would not be coming that day. No alternative was given, simply "we aren't making it today." Anyone moving likely knows that it is not easy, or in some cases possible, to shift everything two days (minimum) off schedule. No offer was made for a discount or any kind of apology. I cancelled and was able to rent a truck and load/unload it with the help of friends. The only thing that Agility was professional about was the return of my deposit, which was prompt. Otherwise, I was the one reaching out for information and updates, constantly being put under unneeded stress in an already stressful situation.

It has taken me 6 weeks to finally recover from the traumatic and distressing move that I did with Agility from MA to Florida. I am writing this because as a single woman I want to ensure no one, especially another woman, is taken advantage of by the conniving and quite frankly illegal business practices of Agility. My deception began when I found Agility off the very reputable Angie's Listings. Unfortunately my initial local moving company contracted COVID-19 2 weeks prior to my move so I was in need of a replacement. I spoke with John countless times, sent him the MLS listing of my house, including the square footage ( 2219 sq ft 4 bedrooms 3.5 baths) as well as over 26 photos showing all contents of every room in my home. After multiple exchanges on 4/17 John quoted my move at $5,313.13 based off of the1052 Cubic Feet I would need in the truck. The move was promised giving a two day arrival window. With only 24 hours notice I received confirmation the truck would arrive the second day but it didn't! I called repeatedly to confirm my moving date as I was on a tight schedule. I finally heard back at 9PM the night before my scheduled moving date - in which I was informed they would be arriving a day later than scheduled. Upon arrival on 4/23 my movers said there was absolutely no way that the contents of my home would fit in the cubic footage I had reserved. They told me I would need over 1,768 cubic footage of the truck which would increase the price of my move by $3,500 making the total $8,341.57. Additionally the owner of the company Shane insisted that the new total needed to be paid in full upon delivery. These were absolutely not the terms and conditions I had contractually agreed upon. It was the height of the pandemic, not to mention I am a single woman and was packing and moving my entire life completely alone due to required isolation. The law states that the most a moving company can charge is 110% of the increased total at delivery, they did not abide by that. I will be filing a deceptive business practice complaint with the Department of Transportation, Better Business Bureau, and the Attorney General as this company is extremely corrupt and I do not want this to happen to anyone else. I will mention that the three movers were very friendly, professional, and transparent. Clearly this is a top down issue in which management forces poor and immoral business practices on their employees.

We had an amazing crew. led by Alex, along with Ontario and Damian. They were endlessly positive, energetic, pleasant and professional. They handled every challenge with a can do attitude. We dealt with them at 3 different locations. Each time was perfect. Highly commend and recommend these guys! Before the crew arrived, we had some hiccups with the scheduling and detail of communication. All were resolved with a few calls.

Agility contacted me and offered their services and after checking reviews for this company, I hired them for my move from Maryland to Florida. The service I received from John in sales and Shane the owner was superb. However, the crew themselves was outstanding. The foreman was Ontario Alvarez and his helper Damion. Words cannot express the excellent care of our goods and how they were handled by these gentlemen. We boxed most of our goods, but nothing (furniture) was moved out of our house unless it was completely wrapped and protected. We had plenty of fragile boxes, but there was one in particular and they saw that it was very well protected to avoid being crushed. Overall, it was an excellent job done by crew and there was nothing damaged. These movers have what everyone needs in a company, service and professionalism. I highly recommend them. Great job Agility!
