Steve is a perfectionist and a good communicator. He returned my call promptly and courteously, and was able to set up an appointment quickly. When he arrived and assessed our situation (replacement of recliner cable) he gave us 2 price quotes -- one for the work if he used our new cable, and one for the work if he used his cable. As he worked to access the old cable attachment, it became clear that this was a bigger job than any of us anticipated. He then revised his quote to reflect the 3 hour project. He was careful, responsible and polite. We recommend Steve without reservation.
Description of Work: Replaced broken recliner cable. Because of the furniture design Stevee had to completely remove the sofa arm just to start the replacement.

Steve was amazing. Due to the nature of the job, he would normally take the chair back to his shop for repair. But once he saw the need we had, as my mother basically lives in her recliner, he fixed it right then and there. Not only is he a craftsman who takes pride in his work and does an excellent job, but a kind and compassionate man who went out of his way to make our lives easier. His act of kindness will never be forgotten.
Description of Work: Repaired Recliner chair for elderly mother who suffered a stroke. The recliner was tilting on one side and ready to collapse. It is now in better shape than when we purchased it.

Will contact him to start work as aoon as I receive a response from my insurance.
Description of Work: Steve came to see my furniture, which has water damage from a recent flood. He had to come twice, as my insurance required extra paperwork. Very professional, knowledgeable and reasonable prices. Will definitely be doing business with this company. Very important, he is also very responsive and punctual.

My husband talked to him previously in regards to the price they agreed on which was $200. I had the day off so I dealt with the provider and he tried to get more money off of me. He was 15 minutes late (which is ok since he warned us) and he then walks into the home and basically starts nickle and diming trying to charge me for other things that he didnt mention previously. It took him 22 minutes to do the job then afterwards he apologised to me saying he didnt mean to upset me. I was just upset because he quoted us a price diffrent then what he asked of for my husband. He lied about the recliner cord being $200 when it was really on $12.66, also tried telling me that he didnt know that he was to remove the arms of the recliner when I saw that it was noted on the receipt. I feel like he's a con artist.

Response from AAA Furniture Repair Service
I am very sorry that Mrs. [member name removed] was not 100% satisfied with my service on 2/27/15. The [member name removed]s are previous customers from two years ago; they must have been satisfied with my work in the past since they continued to use our services. On this particular occasion Mr. [member name removed] made an appointment to have their recliner repaired. He told me in advance that he was not willing to spend over $200 for this repair. I acknowledged that I would do whatever I could to keep the charges within this cost parameter since he was a previous customer. Mrs. [member name removed] was correct in the review, stating that I ran about 10 minutes late and that I phoned her to let her know. When I arrived at the [member name removed]'s home I was immediately verbally assaulted by Mrs. [member name removed]’s irrational ranting about the cost of the repairs and being taken advantage of, even though Mr. [member name removed] had left a signed check for the agreed upon cost of $200+tax ($212). Mrs. [member name removed] allowed me to start the job, even as she continued to nag about being nickeled and dimed. Mrs. [member name removed] left the room and returned when I was finished with the job and I requested that she inspected the operation of her repaired recliner. Neither she nor Mr. [member name removed] had any complaints about the quality of my work; however, when Mrs. [member name removed] handed me the check she was very irate. I never told Mrs. [member name removed] that the part to repair her recliner cost $200; If the part was $200 then I would not have been charging for a service call, my labor, or my business overhead, since I only charged them $200+tax. **The fact that I always provide an on-sight free estimate did not apply in this instance since the price was already pre-arranged with Mr. [member name removed]. After the service was complete, I received a voice mail from Mr. [member name removed] that was threatening and inappropriate (I have this recording saved). I did call Mr. [member name removed] back, only out of misplaced respect for a longtime customer. Regardless, I would never step foot in the [member name removed]'s home again, under ANY circumstance. I normally would not even justify the [member name removed]'s accusations by responding to this review, except that I feel this was a personal, unwarranted attack. I will let my 39 years in business and numerous positive reviews, as well as my 2 years of Angie’s List Super Service Awards, speak for themselves.

I searched AL and Google for someone that could repair wooden furniture. There are many that will repair/recover upholstered furniture but this was a piece that was missing veneer in several areas and it was too nice a piece to just cover up these areas with stain and just 'live with it' . I contacted AAA Furniture Repair to see IF the damaged areas on my armoire COULD be repaired. I called and Steve answered. I explained to Steve what my issues were and he agreed to come by and look to see if he could help me. He assessed the damaged areas and we agreed on a price . Steve said the repair process would take two trips to my house and that he would start Tuesday of the following week. I had the piece in the garage and Steve suggested I bring it into the house so It wouldn't be damaged again in yet another move. He called on Monday to verify that he would be here on Tuesday. On Tuesday he called again to say he was on his way and arrived shortly thereafter. I let Steve get to work and he did everything he could do that first day. He had me look at what was done and asked if I had any questions or if he missed anything. He agreed to return the following Thursday at 8:00 am to complete his work. Steve arrived and got right to work to complete the repair. He repaired and touched up everything. He even did minor touch up on other pieces the same color furniture in the room. I am very happy with the results of Steve's efforts. Some of the damage was severe as far as I was concerned. The piece looks wonderful now and if you didn't see the damage before you wouldn't know it was repaired. The color match is amazing. He is truly an artist. In our first conversation Steve said he has been repairing furniture for 39 years. I knew then that he could do what he said he could do. You cannot be in business for 39 years and do mediocre work.

Sitting down on my lovely sofa and.. POP.!!! I looked underneath the sofa and noticed that the springs of that part of my sofa had popped. There was now a notable sag in that part. So I went onto Angie's list and tried to look for a reputable company to repair the sofa. The following day I called Mr. Turok and he immediately picked up the phone and described the problem to him. He looked at his schedule and luckily for me there was an availability early that same week. After setting up the appointment and he gave a three hour window. He was very prompt and called about 30 min prior to his arrival time. After arriving at the house he quickly went to look at the sofa and saw the problems with the springs. He was great to show me the problem and explain the potential reasons of why the springs broke in that area. He quickly found a solution and was able to put the sofa back together. He informed us that the sofa was in otherwise great condition. We had asked if we should change the other clips in the sofa to hopefully prevent those problems from reoccurring. He stated that in his professional opinion the clips in the other parts didn't look broken and didn't warrant the extra expense to change them. I appreciate his honesty in him saying that extra work didn't need to be done. That saved me more money and I didn't feel that he would try to upsell me. I honestly felt like he did a great and honest job. That's hard to come by these days, even in Angie's list world. I would recommend him without any hesitation and would definitely use him in any future furniture repairs. Thanks Mr. Turok for your excellent service. I am DEFINATETLY a happy customer.

Had Old sewing machine cabinet and the top would not stay on any more as the screws had been stripped, and replacement hardware was not available. Steve came out to residence and promised to fix it to my satisfaction or no charge. He was very polite, professional and very creative. He was resourceful and creative as he tried several different options before one really worked. Work was completed, cabinet lid was restored, and now useful. I was pleased with the work and would recommend him to anyone. I would call him again next time I had a problem.

We contacted AAA furniture repair to repair a family heirloom. Our antique dining room table that has been in our family for years was damaged from a roof leak and in very poor condition. Steve the owner personally did the work and I cannot believe the excellent job he did. The table looks perfect and we can now use it for the holidays. I am so glad we found Steve on Angies list.

I was told that my wood table could not be sanded and stained because of how the top was constructed. I was under the impression after talking with representative that I would probably not noticed where he would be sanding and painting the table to remove the water spots. What a joke. I only wish I could post before and after pictures on this site so you could see what he considered his best. He has ruined my table top. The sanding is extremely ruff and the color he painted is way off base. Would not use or ever recommended this company ever. Also, he made an appointment to show up between 9:00 and 11:00 am. The night before he called to confirm and changed his appointment time between 11:00 and 2:00pm. Told me he was so tired that he did not want to argue about his poor performance. I did pay him a portion of what he original wanted to charge me but now I am really made at myself for giving him a dime.

Response from AAA Furniture Repair Service
I am very disappointed that (Removed Member Name) is not happy with my work. I gave her a free written estimate during my first visit, at which time I expressed to her in great detail that her dining room table would be a very difficult repair because of her table's construction (veneer over pressboard tends to swell when water soaked, and can not be sanded completely because the veneer is only 1/8 inch thick and then you cut through to the pressboard). For this reason, I specified on the estimate that "this repair will be as good as possible." The six-eight inch area on the dining room table was lightly sanded and hand grained to blend in the color, then buffed perfectly smooth. When (Removed Member Name) vehemently expressed her disapproval with my work I immediately told her NOT to pay me anything for my two visits and two hours of work. I packed up my tools and was loading my truck when (Removed Member Name) came out insisting that I take an amount of money, which she handed me, and I later found to be $160 (for the $265 job). My ultimate goal after 39 years in business is to make my customers 100% satisfied; I am very sorry (Removed Member Name) is not satisfied. I could have easily removed the finish that i applied to the table; however, I still believe the repair is a great improvement over the original damage, especially since I told her not to pay me. (Removed Member Name) dining room table is in NO WAY ruined but rather improved. As you can see from my many other Angie's List reviews, from my 2 years of being listed on Angie's List, as well as other internet reviews, my customer's are always more than satisfied with my work.

Steve was prompt in meeting with me to review options, working on my piece and returning the finished product in amazing condition. He was not only professional and a true craftsman, but his honesty/integrity stopped me from stripping and potentially ruining a great piece that required restoration instead. I would rely on Steve again in a heartbeat.

The pull-tab that releases the recliner mechanism on one side had broken. When he saw it Steve said that the love seat is old (it is 11+ years) and he may or may not have the replacement part. He removed the old release unit and found a suitable replacement in his truck. After connecting the cable and completing the repair he tested the recliner and then had me do the same. It now works perfectly.

Dealing with Steve was timely, professional, & educational. He provided an estimate at no charge, seemed very knowledgeable & experienced, & was able to schedule the work for about a week later. He called the night before to confirm both appointments & showed up on time. He examined both areas of need & explained how he would attack the problems. As it turned out, he also tightened our headboard, and in doing so found that the box spring was a hairbreadth away from coming off the frame. He secured it, as well. He spent about 2.5 hours here & cleaned up appropriately. Also gave us an estimate on another issue. I felt his price may have been on the high side, but I have no way of determining that since I did not compare prices. If his work is as efficient as it seems & my bed doesn't come apart, it was well worth it & I will have him back for the third issue. I also believe in "paying for what you get". It was a good experience with a personable professional.
Description of Work: Steve repaired an upholstered love seat that felt like its springs and/or cushioning were shot; it didn't feel as firm as its matching couch which had not had anywhere as much use as the love seat, which was my husband's "seat of choice" in his man-cave. He also repaired the "hanging-by-a-thread" brass footboard on my queen-sized bed, which was an accident waiting to happen that I had ignored for too long.

He called while on his way here for our appointment, I couldn't pick up and when I pressed redial to call him back his cell phone would not allow me to leave a message. It said this phone doesn't allow messages. He said only call him at office number. While here he looked at the broken mechanism on my Queen Anne chair recliner, and quoted me $250.00 for repair. Just an outrageous price for the repair, he said it would be that high because he was going to go through many drill bits to fix it and they were $8.00 each. The only reason I agreed to the price was because it was so hard to find this recliner chair for small spaces. My only other option was to throw it away and it was only a couple years old. He did fix the chair and it works. While here I felt he drilled me to as why and how it got broken. I found him insulting! While he was here, he did agree to drill screws in two loose legs of another chair, at no additional cost, but left the screws heads extending out a little bit. He said they wouldn't go in any further. Overall, I found him unprofessional, insulting and he overcharged me !

Mrs. [removed member name], I apologize that you were not 100% satisified with my service, as my goal is to leave each customer completely satisfied. I would like to address your concerns: My telephone service is setup as to not interrupt my servicing other customers. While you did not answer my call enroute, I still arrived for our designated appointment in a timely manner. All of my estimates are free and you were under no obligation to use my services if the charges were unsatisfactory to you. However, you state that I did repair the chair to working condition and I presume that six months later (since the work was done in February) that it is still operational. The reasoning behind my asking about the history of the damages is to ensure permanent repairs. The work that was done at "no additional charge" was time consuming and quite difficult. The end result was that the chair was completely functional after my repairs. Once again, I am very sorry that you were not completely satisifed with the way I operate my business of 39 years. All of my work is 100% guarenteed and I do strive for 100% customer satisfaction.

Steve brought all of his professional equipment and in a timely manner, repaired the horribly damaged dining room table. It looks like new! Steve has many years of experience in the furniture repair business and it genuinely shows in the finished product. Thank you Steve for a job well done!
Description of Work: Steve repaired the corner of a dining room table which had been damaged in moving. He explained in detail before beginning how the repair would be done and the exact cost. The repair was expertly done just as he had explained, plus he touched up the 4 chairs and table legs at no extra cost. Steve did an excellent job and the table looks just as it did the day it was purchased. I would highly recommend this company for furniture repair service. We could not be happier and are very pleased with the now beautiful dining table.

Fixed all drawers. Needed new hardware came back at no charge to fix hardware. Punctual outstanding job I would give him highest recommendation. Is the best service I have received with repairs in South Florida. That is any person who I have had to call for repair work in any field. They might have better but you would not believe the quality of his work, his diligence to think outside the box to repair neglected furniture by previous owner. I had to buy furniture to get house purchased. I would have thrown it out but Steve put it in great shape my highest recommendation.
