Description of Work: I have used this provider three times with three different technicians and three different results. The first technician was excellent (but no longer there). He fixed a problem that developed as my grandson was building a computer. He was very good and wasted no time. He was also personable. | |The second time I had a problem with my computer. Again, the tehcnician was personable and good. But I ended up spending money for something I really didn't need - but was nice. That was my fault. Ever since his visit, however, I kept getting the notice that my windows version was not authentic. | |The last time the technician came to again straighten up a computer my grandson had built from scratch. He found a faulty power cord, but fixed it. And he fixed other things. He said it would take hours to install all the drivers, etc., but my grandson could do it. He had not been told ahead of time what he was to do here or that it was Angie's List. When he left, my grandson started to install the drivers, but it wasn't working. I ended up calling LinkUp Technologies, whom I've dealt with before, who found other things not hooked up properly when they took the computer back to their shop. Now all is well.

Description of Work: Tehy called and set up a date and time for the tech to come out. After the time had past I called them and they told me I was not in their system. I was told what I needed could be covered online and I needed to set up an online time. Since I had a new computer with the new windows system I wanted someone on hand to go through it with me. Which is what was initially offered.

Description of Work: Did a health check on my computer, removed several viruses, and helped install anti-viral software. The technician was very helpful.

Description of Work: They took a while to get to me to be able to come out and help with my PC. Once they were able to come out, they said I shouldn't even waste my time with the service and that I should just get a brand new PC.

Description of Work: Technician arrived on time. Scanned for viruses, fixed an issue with our infrared mouse, analyzed an issue with our external hard drive, set up a free virus scan program and provided information on a system back-up company.

Description of Work: Can't say enough about Greg Gonzales! There were a lot of virus, adware and malware on my laptop. It works soooooo much better. He even recommended an a program that is much better than the anti virus program that I had. Good price too. If there is ever a problem again I will schedule direct with him. |The Angie's List Big Deal was a big help!!!!

Description of Work: the tech was very pleasant, took apart the computer but didn't want too attempt a repair because he was concerned that there would be damage to the pc. I appreciated that and am still using the unit.

Description of Work: The tech was at the house for the Angie's List offer of 2 hours and was unable to repair. He took the discs and CPU away to be repaired. Then I was charged for another hour to have the stuff returned. I don't feel I got any service at all for the original $79.00. The tech did not know how to fix whatever was wrong and spent some time on the phone asking for help. At the end of the 2 hours he said he couldn't do anything and needed to take it "in" for repair. The Terms of Service says it charges $20 per half hour. A 2-hour service call WITHOUT the Angie's List special offer would have cost $80.00. The offer was for $79.00. I "saved" $1.00!! And for that I got to pay an extra $218.00 to actually repair the computer.

Description of Work: Tried to solve home computer problems by remote control. They were contracted to provide in home service but could not because their area technician was "on vacation." Remote control service was not able to resolve my concerns and their technician did not seem to be very familiar with the companies procedure. Communication was also strained. I have had remote service before with mixed results but this was the worst. When the service person asked for my name and address, Ect. For the third time I hung up the phone.

Description of Work: They reviewed and removed computer viruses and answered all my questions. I will use them without reservation in the future. My computer has never worked better.

He offered 2 hrs of work for $59.-which was spent talking me into an upgrade from Vista Home Premium to 7. |I mistakenly thought I would be getting 7 Home Premium. WRONG!! I got 7 Professional, which is not as useful for a home pc. I signed a contract for $139. and when I got the receipt, I had been charged an additional $200 as well. -- Not what I would call an honest upfront deal. |I would never recommend this guy for anything. | | |
