He provided me with an endless amount of information concerning computer memory, storage, and data usage. He went above and beyond in customer service. I would definitely utilize this company again.

 + -1 moreThe job went very well. I'm on a quarterly maintenance program and I get an Email a few days before the service will be performed along with a call the day the actual work will be done. The notices are given so that I'm warned ahead of time not to be using my PC. The whole maintenance performance takes about an hour and I've never, ever had any issues with my computer. The staff is friendly and courteous and if there are any questions they call me. I have to admit that I'm by no means a computer "whiz" but if the technician has a question or wants me to do something on my end that I'm not familiar with he'll talk me through it. The technician that performed my recent maintenance name is Quinton Foote, very professional and does a great job. I can't write enough good things about South Florida Tech Group, Inc. and highly recommend them.

 + -1 moreEver grateful for having been able to save all my data. I should have stopped there and explored other options. That was @$350.00 which is fair considering the tech came and picked up and returned the data on a 1T external hard drive. The part that made me unhappy was that I paid for the new hard drive, bootcamp, windows 7 installation (I have a licensed copy) and professional office and the tech did not install all of the windows 7 updates before retuning the computer to me. For $1,200 plus I would have expected to turn on the computer and have it totally up and running--not spend hours running windows updates and restarting etc. So I guess my advice is that they are good at what they do, just watch out because the costs add up very quickly.
Description of Work: Harvested data from windows laptop that crashed. Installed a new hard drive in an old Mac Book, bootcamp and Office Professional.

 + -1 moreIt was not so good. I paid for the service and they said they still have service online. After one visit, the one you expected to meet in the computer monthly said they didn't have any more techs in the Houston area. I never used it. I paid $90 for something I used but once. They said they could do it monthly. I paid $90 for a year's subscription to them. It was for monthly maintenance and for them to be available on weekends and after hours. They said they no longer have a technician available in Houston and they can only do it by phone. The price was reasonable. They called back pretty well when they came out.
Description of Work: I purchased a "Big Deal" for South Florida Tech Group Inc. They did a PC repair. I bought a membership.

 + -1 moreit took longer than I expected but results were beneficial. He ran malware scan to determine any viruses and corrected them. Then checked programs that might be slowing the computer and deleted. Permanently installed malware program. He offered the checkup program but declined due to age of computer.

 + -1 moreHe tried to sell me other stuff. He tried to tell me he builds computers and he does this and he does that. I wasn't happy with that. He installed software on my computer and left it there. He shouldn't have done that. I wasn't happy with him at all. He was a nice guy, seemingly. But I didn't trust him and trust the things he did. We actually got rid of that computer right after that and got a new one. They didn't charge anything more. I didn't feel comfortable with the computer after all the stuff he did and telling me that he had to leave that software on my computer. I was very uncomfortable with his service. I didn't feel like my computer was secure after that. We replaced it. They shouldn't try to sell the customer other services. There should be less personal chats and they should not tell me that software has to be left on my machine, from them, that I don't want. The price was fine.
Description of Work: I purchased a big deal from them. It was $59 for two hours of remote PC repair or tune-up.

 + -1 morePurchased the yearly maintenance check up for my computer. Done every quarter remotely. Greg Gonzales has been doing this a couple times. An excellent IT technician. Always have some questions or issues I save up for the quarterly check up and he answers them all the time before starting the check up or fixes whatever needs to be done. Had another issue after the check up and just thought he would return an e-mail for the answer. He called right away, it was night time, for me late, so amazed, got in my computer, fixed it in seconds and told me what to do if it happens again. Hope he will be around to do the check ups on my computer for a long time. South Florida Tech service excellent. Only issue I have with South Florida Tech Group is the turnover of the IT technicians and managers. I have been using the company for about 2 years. So far they all have been very good and knowledgeable. They are just not around for a long time. Glad to have the maintenance contract to keep my computer running smoothly. Other software and labor charges are to much for me, but they try their best to give fair prices. No choice for emergency repairs for the computer but if it can get fixed quickly and has that is great.

 + -1 moreThey charged me in advance. They sent a technician to my office. He disabled my system. He damaged my server and internet connection. He changed the network card. He changed the antivirus. He misconfigured the server among other things. They are now trying to charge me for a renewal of the service and they are not responding to my e-mails or calls. They haven't provided any service throughout the year.

For upgrade to Windows 10 and installing hard drive, they set time to pick up computer and then set up time to return it next day. Could not be more convenient and flexible with times. For online quarterly maintenance ($100/yr) , I allow 2 hrs to be available by phone in home. while he is working on it. Have always been satisfied with every aspect of service.
Description of Work: Over 12 months have provided at home repair, quarterly online maintenance, upgraded to Windows 10 from 'Windows 7, and replaced hard drive with new one terabyte (cost of hard drive not included above).

 + -1 moreThis is a company that definitely wants to please their customers! I originally had my computer serviced on November 6th because I was not able to open my Juno e-mail. They resolved that issue, but I had neglected to let them know that I was also unable to open PDF files. Because my computer is so old, I did not want to spend any more money on a service call and said in my review that I would not use this company again. I received a call from the company and they offered me complimentary remote service to resolve that issue. It took them a couple of hours to resolve this problem due to the age of the computer and technical problems, but I am now able to open PDF files and print coupons. They certainly lost money on me and I would definitely recommend this company to others!

 + -1 moreAzhar Ahmed was completely punctual, professional and personable. He is a consummate and brilliant pro in his field. He did everything I asked. I had neglected to ask him to restore my favorites and photographs and hook up my printer. The drivers needed to be reinstalled. (My husband and I restored old favorites and hooked up the printer later on.) I erased all the cookies on the system, which required me to reregister on a number of sites, but this isn't a problem. I would highly recommend South Florida Tech Group -- especially the Broward County tech Azhar Ahmed. He is the BEST!
Description of Work: Azhar Ahmed was the tech who came on behalf of South Florida Tech Group. (I asked him to fix what another local Angie's List company had screwed up horribly -- it behooves the Angie's List member to read the F grades of every provider to forewarn re potential difficulties. I had neglected to do this and my computer was a total mess as a result. I am afraid to post a negative review because I am afraid of reprisal since that company had access to all my personal information.) I told Azhar that I needed Windows 10 removed completely and 'Windows 7 restored to the system, which is the OS that I purchased early 2015 loaded on it. It was important for me to find and have all my documents and old emails. He immediately found all the documents that I couldn't find/access. He found all my missing documents within the first 10 minutes. He spelled out exactly how much it would cost and how long it would take. It was in writing, professionally prepared and he took 1/3 of the money in advance on my Amex card. He spent about 7 hours on the repair and I paid for my own copy of Windows 7, which is necessary in order to register it, etc. So, the charges really weren't too much in the total scheme of things. He restored all my old emails. He made sure to do everything I requested. He needed to take my pc with him to do what was necessary. I felt totally comfortable that he would do everything right. He scheduled the work so I could get my system back in only three days. He even called 1/2 hour before the appointment to return it to reconfirm the appointment. I had neglected to ask him to restore my photos, which he did quickly when he brought it back.

 + -1 moreThe service was a bomb. Some guy showed up from Cady and he was out a couple of times. He did not really represent those guys at all. He represented himself. They have harassed me regularly because he asked me if I would like him to continue to take care of my PC and I said sure, but he disappeared. Those guys have been calling from South Florida trying to schedule an opportunity to come over here to actually get online and tune-up the PC. I told them no and not to call back. He fixed the issues I had with the computer. It was a nominal tune-up, but with the promise to follow-up, he just kind of evaporated and I was ready for it because it was so unpredictable.
