Description of Work: They replaced my old 2-tank well water softening system that came with the home when it was built in 1983 and was not working efficiently with a one-tank Rainbow system that works really well. The cost was about half of what the other companies were recommending. Before contacting FWT I had 5 different providers come to my home to analyze my situation and recommend a new system. From this I learned a lot! Two of them were working from home and were hard to communicate with. I figured if I had problems and could not reach them I could be screwed and if they passed away so would my warranty. The company that put the original system came out and their guy spent 5 min, did not explain anything he was recommending and did not seem to know a whole lot. He told me to call their office if I had any questions. Another company just wanted to sell me an expensive, $6000 Kinetico system, and in spite of telling the guy that came out that I had no desire to spend that much, he kept pushing me. When I didn't budge, he recommended a $4000 system. Not! | |This was a frustrating process. I did not want to continue using that nasty, toxic expensive potassium permanganate that was part of my old system, but they all said that I had no choice with the new systems. I also did not want another 2-tank system, but they said I had no choice about that either. And I wanted digital, not mechanical heads, and some said that was not smart because Florida humidity would affect them and if there was a power outage, they would not run. Well neither would my electric water pump if there was no power! These companies offered a 1-year or a 3-year warranty on parts and labor. So last but not least I contacted FWT and they said they would put together a custom-built system suited to my home's needs. Their owner Matt came out and tested the water and then recommended a 1-tank system with a digital head and NO potassium permanganate! He spent a lot of time going through all the details of how this system would operate. He even offered to take away an old water pressure tank that was taking up space, along with the old water softener system after the new one was installed. He took photos of the old system and the area it was in and gave me a thorough estimate of what I would need to spend to get a customized system. So his 2 installers came out to put in the new system. They were on time, polite, professional and worked very quickly. They even cleaned the garage floor before putting the new equipment in because the old system had leaked and there was also that toxic purple potassium permanganate on it. They re-configured the plumbing to accommodate the new system and even put a new hose bib on the faucet next to it, which they didn't need to do, but the old one was leaking. They filled up the new tank with salt crystals that will last me about a month. They told me not to use the salt PELLETS because they use glue to make the pellets, which over time clogs up your system and causes it to work less efficiently. The crystals are cheaper. Yay! Afterward they took me through the whole system, inch by inch so I would know how to operate it. The digital head is very easy to reset if needed and it is easy to read. This system is saving me big time because it only regenerates as needed when I use water. The old system constantly regenerated, even when I was away and not using water. AND THEY GAVE ME A 5-YEAR WARRANTY. FWT has is a large, well-established family-owned business that has been serving Tampa Bay since 1951. They will be around for a long time to provide service on their equipment and they work hard to preserve their stellar reputation. They know our water issues and they take pride in their work. Don't waste your time calling anyone else - these folks will create a system according to the specific needs of your home, with an emphasis on saving you money in the long run. After the new system was put in, I smelled a sulfur odor when using the cold water. Never had that before. So I called FWT and they send a guy out the next day. By then there was no odor. He said it was probably just a sulfur pocket that built up and when I ran some loads of laundry it was pushed out. He checked everything again and reassured me all was well. Very nice guy, very professional. No charge for this. Skip the other guys and go with FWT.

Description of Work: They installed a whole house filter and water softener at my daughters home. They installed the same system at my home in 2013. They do excellent work and install a great system which is why I recommended them to my daughter.
