Florida Water Treatment has been providing quality water treatment solutions to the Tampa Bay Area since 1951. Florida Water Treatment has been a family owned and operated company since our humble beginning. Our longevity is a direct result of how we do business. First with decades of experience in dealing with Florida Water, our highly trained staff of professionals will assess each customer's water quality concern on a case by case basis. We then custom fit the best possible solution to meet your needs. All of our water treatment equipment is custom built to order, nothing is pre made giving our customer's the highest grade equipment possible at wholesale prices. Since we do custom build all of our equiment FWT is able to keep up with the latest advances and technology in the water treatment industry and implement these technologies into our product line very quickly to ensure our customers are always getting the most efficent and advanced equipment available. At FWT we do not believe in the one size fits all approach that the box stores and all of our competiton uses to treat water. The water in the Tampa Bay area is unique and needs to be treated on a case by case basis in order for the equipment to perform at a high level for many years which is why we custom build all of our equipmet to meet the needs of the customers home and water needs. At FWT we have a water treatment solution for every budget and provide superior warranties on everything we install. We provide In house 0% no interest financing eliminating credit checks, pushy finance companies, and high interest rates giving FWT the ability to finance just about anyone who needs it. Description of Work: Fully inspected my soft water purifier and cleaned everything to assure it was working properly, then checked our water quality to verify no adjustments were necessary. Showed up on time, were very professional, explained what they did and found, and did and excellent job. Highly recommend for use.

Description of Work: Water softener tune up special deal. Spent a lot of time saying how inferior our system is (purchased through a reputable plumbing company 5 years ago), and when I was skeptical about our system needing major upgrades or replacements tried to sell us a small $90.00 part. I declined, they did arrive on time, work on the unit and leave the included salt, but I have no confidence the company doesn't try to pressure consumers into more repairs than needed. I won't be using them again.

Thank you for your insightful review of my company, but it seems that you have left out quite a bit of the information that my technician provided you. My technician spent a decent amount of time at your home going through your system, this is why he was able to give you the information on what repairs needed to be done. I understand that you may have purchased your system from a reputable plumbing company but that does not mean that it doesn't wear down and need repairs. Your systems filter media (resin) was wearing down and had lost a good bit of its capacity as well as the seals in the valve were worn out. The main piston was scorned and the brine assembly main seal was worn down as well (I say this with confidence because We have a core sample of your filter media attached to your fie as well as pictures of all of the worn parts - we do this for situations such as this). I apologize that you did not appreciate the information that my technician gave you but he was being honest and upfront with you. Our technicians have no incentive to try and sell you a new system, he was simply trying to show you that the system was wearing down due to the quality of the water and the grade of materials used in the system. We try to give our customers options to either repair the system or if the repairs are involved and costly we offer the cost of a replacement system. I understand you feel that your system is only 5 years old but we run into systems on a daily basis that are far less than 5 years old that are in need of replacement. Unfortunately not all water softeners are created equal and some softeners do fail sooner than others, please do not kill the messenger. Because you did not like what we had to tell you does not mean that we are a horrible comapny and are out to rip you off. It seems a common theme with Angie's List on the Big Deal Service calls that we run, no matter how we approach the service call we seem to be the bad guy more often than not. If we do take the system apart and show the customer that it is need of repair or replacement we are the bad guys because all we are trying to do is sell you something - but on the other hand if we do not take the system completely apart we are the bad guys and didn't do anything. We run over 600 service calls a month without any issues and install close to 150 systems a month and somehow maintain an "A" rating on Angie's List and an "A+" rain on the BBB. My technician did his job and provided you with proper information regarding your system, again I apologize that you did not like what he had to tell you regarding the overall shape of your system. Your system is in need of work and I am sure you will take the information we provided and use it to shop other companies to get your system running properly. if for some reason you do need help we would be more than happy to fix your system for you and we have the proposal on file if you need it.

Description of Work: They came to service my water softening system. It was too old and could not be serviced. The serviceman refused to just remove it.They later called to tell me they would disconnect and take it away for a hefty fee which I refused.

Thank you very much for your review of my company - we welcome all reviews positive and negative. These reviews allow me to make sure that I give praise to my employees that continue to service our customers at a very high level, but they also allow me to work on any discrepancies with my employees. We came to your home to assess a water treatment system because you called our office and stated the system was not working properly. When my technician arrived he found that the system at your home was 23 years old and had not been functioning for quite some time. My technician went through the system and explained to you that there were quite a few issues and a majority of the parts on the system were discontinued. He politely explained to you that the system was not worth putting any money into because of the condition of a majority of the key components and that we could not get a majority of the parts because they were discontinued (nobody can get the parts). We gave you the option of replacing the system or you could have it removed it you did not want water treatment on the home - leaving the system in place could cause further problems (leaks and/or filter media breakdown causing a blockage in the homes piping and appliances). You did not want to do either at the time my technician was at your home. You stated you did not understand why we could not just take the system with us. My technician explained this to you, but I would like to clarify and explain this to you again. My technicians are not licensed plumbers and removing the system properly involves cutting the old system out and re-connecting the homes main water lines back together. This is not a simple 2 minute job, it is quite involved and takes some time to properly do the work. For obvious reasons as well as liability reasons we use our own in house installers (licensed plumbers) to do any plumbing work to make sure it is done professionally and properly. One of my staff followed up with you the next day and explained to you that we could remove the system and dispose of it for you for a cost of $195.00 using our in house plumbers. You proceeded to laugh hysterically at my office manager and told her we were crazy then hung up (we make detailed notes on every call/service visit and a majority of our phone conversations are recorded for training purposes). If you were to call around to local plumbers you will find that we are well below the average cost to do this type of work and you must factor in the cost of disposing the equipment as well - the system can not be thrown in a normal dumpster (we have specialized dumping regulations for these systems) and if you were to call the city they would charge you between $$50-$75 to take it away for you if you brought it down to the curb. I just do not want there to be any misconceptions that we are price gouging our customers and charging ridiculous prices. The technician that was out to your home did nothing wrong and handled the situation as I would expect him to - he did not try and charge you for parts on a system that he knew would never operate correctly if he tried to fix it and he did not try and hard sell you a system or use shady sales tactics, he also followed our protocol and did not remove the system from your home because he is not licensed or insured through our company to remove the system and re-plumb your piping. He made proper recommendations on what he felt was the proper course of action - you decided not to move forward with any of our suggestions which is fine. My office manager followed up with you and gave you a proper price to remove the equipment using our installers/plumbers and you did not want to do that either. This does not make you a bad person or make us a horrible company because you did not agree with our pricing. If we can help you with anything further please do not hesitate to contact us. Even though the service person could not locate the main line going in the home on the first visit, they did not give up and found a way to properly install the water system on a second visit.
