As soon as installation began, it became apparent that the front office did not communicate with us or the crew regarding the work schedule. Little did we know, that poor scheduling would soon be the least of our problems with this company. Within approximately 60 days from the time the job was completed, the floor in the living room/dining room began to buckle in several places. We contacted Floor Depot to report the problem and they sent someone out a week later to look at the floor. The worker who came out indicated to us that the floor would need to be replaced due to moisture damage. They further informed us that the office manager would call us within the hour to discuss the repair/scheduling. The office manager did not call us within the hour, or that day. When I finally made contact with the owner (Mike), I was told that the flooring had come up due to a leak somewhere in our house and that we needed to get someone out there to find and fix the leak before they could repair the floor. When I asked for a recommendation of who to call, he said I don't know just look it up and get a leak detection company. He was extremely rude and not at all helpful. At Floor Depot's request, I contacted a leak detection company and had to pay them $250. The leak company gave me a written report stating there were no leaks that had any affect on the flooring. We took the report into the Office Manager (Greg), who threw it down on the desk and told us the report was useless. He then stated that he would speak to the owner and get back to us the next day regarding resolution of the problem. We did not hear from the company for two weeks. At that time, we took them a letter requesting they resolve the problem. They called a few days later, and sent another person (Brett/Brent?) out to look at the floor. He also stated there was moisture under the floor and that the owner would get back to me when he returned from Orlando. The next week they sent two of the workers that had been part of the installation crew out to look at the floor. They pulled up a few of the boards and stated there was moisture under the floor and that now there was mold as well. They suggested we talk to our insurance company. A few minutes after they left, the owner called to say what great news we had gotten from the crew that had just been there. I asked what he was talking about and he said that I had a leak in the shower pan in my bathroom and that my insurance company would pay for a new shower and for fixing the floor. I asked why the workers didn't mention it and he just repeated that it was due to the shower pan leak. I contacted my insurance company who had their leak detection person out. That person stated there was no leak in the shower or anywhere else in our house, that the problem was moisture coming up through the concrete slab. In addition, when he checked the moisture on the remaining wood floors with a device, it showed moisture in the other rooms as well. We have been told by the insurance company's expert that all of these floors will be coming up. We would like Floor Depot to come out and remove all the wood flooring, and return the floors to their original condition, and to refund our money in full. I feel that Floor Depot deliberately misled me to believe it was safe to install engineered hardwood rather than tile in this area. When I originally went into the store, I specifically asked if we could use that wood in this area and was told that they would do a moisture test, and if it showed moisture, they would put down a barrier at our cost and that if it showed dry, there would be no need for a barrier and that the wood could be glued directly to the concrete with no problems. Floor Depot advertises themselves as flooring experts and they are now refusing to stand behind the floor that they installed which buckled within 60 days of installation.
Description of Work: Installed Santos Mahogany 9/16 x 4 engineered hardwood in living room/dining room, family room, and four bedrooms including closets. Approximately 1,800 square feet.

We were in several times, they steered us towards one product which seemed to be the only product they had, they told us it looked like cherry and it didn't, and it had too many lumps and too many problems so we went back again. At one point they pretty much ignored me and put me in the back room to look at some more stuff so we walked out and had no more dealings with them. We disliked their attitude and the way that we were treated.

My experience with Floor Depot was great. They were great. What I like about them the most is that they were willing to take back what you didn't use. They even took back grout. They took anything you didn't open up, they took back, even if a bundle was opened with 5 tile in it, they took it back. That is a real plus. What we got was on sale. We both were satisfied with the pricing. We went to 2 or 3 other places and the price was very competitive. What I found out, because I didn't do floor tile that much, they were very knowledgeable on what I needed. That is the only place that I would go to get tile in this area. The price is a good price. I would say that maybe I would have got it cheaper somewhere else but the quality of the tile seems to be alright. They had a big selection and the price was really okay. We were shopping around. We didn't just go there, we went to other places and they seemed to give us the best deal. It is a pretty big company, pretty big area. I am not an expert tile wise. We were happy with the price. I don't know if there is any place better or not. They are very professional.
Description of Work: I just bought the tile there about 2 months ago.

They did a great job. Because I was an Angie's List member they upgraded the carpet pad as well. They were on time and professional. He worked quickly and was careful while working. There was a minimum amount mess and they were very clean and neat. If I need new carpet in the future I would definitely call them. They had a follow up call to make sure everything was fine and it was positive all the way around.

I am very happy with the quality and look of the product, as well as the installation. The installers even came back on "superbowl" Sunday afternoon to complete the job. The only problem I had with the company was having to argue with the General Mgr to have the quarter round replaced at no additional cost. It was my belief that if the job required it to be removed, then it should be replaced at the cost quoted, which he finally agreed to. I would use Floor Depot again if needed, but would make sure every detail was agreed to before giving the deposit.

They did an excellent and professional job from beginning to end. Greg was helpful in their showroom explaining the various options and technical specs of each. He also gave us several samples to take home to examine. Their estimator was friendly and professional. He, like Greg was proud of his company's performance record and their ability to stand behind the work they perform. The installers, led by John were excellent. They proceeded with the work in a professional and workman like manner, moving the furniture as needed. They even helped install felt pads, that we had purchased, on furniture legs to prevent scratching the new floor. What a nice surprise that was. They really seemed to care that the floor was protected and we were well treated. The end product is beautiful and we would rate the quality of the job excellent. The carpentry on the baseboards is tight fitting and well mitered at the joints. These guys know what they are doing and we would definitely call on them again.
Description of Work: Installed laminate flooring and new larger baseboards in Living room, Dining room and a small hallway, including removal of carpeting and old baseboards. They also painted the already primed baseboards onsite, a special request of ours for which they did not charge. We supplied paint.

Basically I did a little research before we called them and I think they were competitive with other places, there's no problem with that. They were prompt and they came out when the rest came out on a preliminary visit and it's a major match and talked to us about it and we firmed up the price and everything and agreed on it beforehand. The work itself, the workers were here at 8:00 or 8:30, something like that every morning and they were finished and the work, as far as I can tell, it's just great and we're pleased with them.
Description of Work: We used Floor Depot, it's a tile company, they install laminate flooring which they did for us. They removed the carpet and installed in its place laminate flooring upstairs and downstairs, we live in a condo.

Greg was really nice and helpful in their store. They showed up early for the job. For the first day, they were shorthanded, but John did nearly the entire room on his own and did an excellent job. I would hire them again. My only complaint is that while the job took a few days because they had to level our floor with some concrete and reorder some laminate due to our measurements being off, they didn't fully keep us in the loop as to when they would be showing up each day. Otherwise great company.

Excellent experience! My wife fell in love with a handscrapped Acacia hardwood and JC was amazing at helping us get what we wanted at a reasonable price. Install took about 6 days, which was a little longer due to some complications with our new house on our end. The 2 gentlemen who installed our floor were very professional and knowledgeable. They undercut our stone fireplace beautifully, which makes it appear that the fireplace is sitting on top of the hardwood - we get complements on the incredible appearance often! The installers were very accommodating to my desire to install new baseboards myself, and promised to come out whenever I finished the job so that they could install the remainder of the transition pieces around the new base. When I finished installing the baseboards, they came right back out the next day to finish the job! The price ended up being a little higher than I was anticipating, due to the amount of leveling the concrete subfloor needed before installation, however I can't complain due to the amazing and professional job that Floor Depot did! I have already recommended them to others getting new flooring, and I will continue to do so in the future.

When we decided to put all new floors down in our condominium this year, we referred to Angie's List for recommendations. We chose three companies for estimates. Although Floor Depot's estimate was not the lowest, we chose them based on their experience and the reviews in Angie's List. We stopped in one afternoon and met with two salesmen who showed us a variety of materials for our needs. We chose the same tile for the kitchen, halls and bathrooms. We also selected an engineered hardwood in a honey oak, for our great room and our master bedroom. We chose carpet for our guest room from in stock inventory. I was very clear that I didn't want any materials from China installed in my condo. We also let them know that I was scheduled for surgery on February 14th and we had out of town guests arriving on the 19th. We were assured that the estimated time to complete the job by that Friday, would give us the time we needed to get our house back in order and cleaned before my surgery. We were given a start date of Monday, February 4th, and four to five days to complete the project. The project was not completed until February 13th. There were several factors that caused this delay. The subfloor in our condo was poorly installed by the original contractor and required substantially more "float" than estimated in order to properly prepare for the installation. This added time and put us significantly over budget by approximately $1,500.00. When the tile arrived, we were advised that it was not the same as we had ordered. They suggested that we wait to see the tile sample before we could approve it for installation. We decided it wasn't something we would want in the kitchen. We did not want to have to select yet another tile and reorder, so we opted to have the tile installed in our bathrooms only, and install hardwood in the kitchen. Apparently there was a deadline to advise Floor Depot what our tile decision was. Although we advised them about our tile decision that afternoon, we were never to call by a specific time that day. We were advised that the tile was at the "port" and had to be shipped to Floor Depot. I mistakenly assumed the port was in Tampa, not Miami. Floor Depot expedited the tile from Miami, which still took a couple of days. When asked where the tile was coming from, I was told "over the water". When I pressed for the country of origin, I was told, Europe, probably Italy. The job began as promised on Monday February 4th when the demo of the old tile began. I don't believe a crew was at my house for a full day until Saturday, February 9th. This was the first day after the expected completion date, so I guess there was now some urgency to press on and get the job done. By now, Frank had completed the tile job in our bathrooms. I must say, he is a craftsman and does excellent work. We are very pleased with his workmanship and I would recommend him to anyone. Rick was the principal hardwood installer. He is also a master craftsman and the finished floor looks great. A young man by the name of John worked on the hardwood solo on that Saturday. He was one of the hardest working individuals I have ever seen. Knowing the project was falling behind schedule, he worked through lunch with grit and determination to get as much done before the days end. Kudos to all of flooring crews for working very hard and making certain we were pleased with the final product. Ultimately the tile came over the Pacific, from China. Remember, I made it crystal clear I did not want any material for my project to originate in China. It's a good thing we changed our plans in the interest in time and opted for this tile only in the bathrooms, or I would have been extremely disappointed. The American manufactured hardwood was installed professionally and I am very pleased with the result. Floor Depot managed to install the WRONG carpet in our guest room on the 13th of February. As my surgery was scheduled for early the next day, we really had no choice but to accept the carpet as installed. It was similar in color only, but the material identification on the estimate, was not the same as indicated on the final invoice. Either this was a screw up at the store or it wasn't really in stock as originally promised. I guess we will never know. There were a lot of miscommunications on the part of the staff at the store. On one occasion in particular, we were advised when the crew would arrive and they showed up about 90 minutes late. Apparently they had to chase down a special tool on their way. I understand things often don't go as promised, but a courtesy call goes a long way to prevent ill will when crews don't arrive on time. We were given unreasonable expectations for the time it would take to complete this job and the promised materials, by the salesman at Floor Depot. Although the timeline was disrupted by unforeseen circumstances, there didn't seem to be adequate oversight of the job, nor was there good communication with the customer. In spite of all of the challenges we faced getting this job done, we are pleased with the quality of the finished product. Floor Depot never responded to our issue of the wrong carpet being installed in one of the bedrooms. Nor did they ever address our concerns of being misled about the origin of the tiles they installed in the bathrooms.
Description of Work: Floor Depot removed all of my existing tile and carpet from my 1320 sq ft condo. They retiled both bathrooms, carpeted a guest room and installed engineered oak hardwood in my kitchen, great room, hallway and master bedroom.

Excellent. I got appraisals from 3 other flooring contractors. This one gave me a great price on the job and delivered the product in a timely manner.
