They were wonderful. They were very compassionate, they took their time and explained everything to me.

Michael Bender and his partner showed up ahead of time and spent several hours thoroughly inspecting both the inside and the exterior of the property as well as the grounds. After finishing the inspection he and his colleague took us through both the interior and exterior of the house advising what they had found (both good and bad) as well as providing useful maintenance information. I was able to use this information to assure that the seller took care of specific safety concerns that I would have had to pay out of pocket should they not have been identified during the contract's inspection window. He and his partner were extremely friendly during the whole process and explained issues in layman's terms when required. They provided me with exactly what I wanted - an unbiased inspection of the property. They knew that I needed the inspection report that same evening and accommodated this request with an in depth, high quality inspection report. I would hire these people for any future inspections I require and as an outstanding resource for maintenance related questions and industry contacts.

Within a few days of contacting him, Michael was able to do the inspection of my future home. The day after the inspection he e-mailed me the report. I live 700 miles from the inspection home and was able to just mail him a check for his services. Michael was very pleasant and easy to deal with.

I chose Bay Home Inspections based on Angie's list reviews, and it was well worth the effort to take the time to review the various home inspectors and ultimately choose Mr. Bender at Bay Home Inspections. Mr. Bender really did exceed all expectations. As an example, during my initial phone conversation with Mr. Bender to set up an inspection, I inquired about researching city building permits for housing additions and repairs on the house that we are purchasing. Not only did Mr. Bender send me the online link to the City of Tampa permit department, but he spent nearly an hour on the phone with me, coaching me through the particulars of the database and explaining what the entries all meant. Mr. Bender and his assistant dedicated two hours to the inspection of our 2800 sqft home, and then spent another hour walking the home interior and exterior with us to point out his significant findings and explaining how to remedy the problems. But, I have saved the best for last: Bay Home Inspections finished reports are exceedingly user friendly and concise. Mr. Bender quickly explains the problem, shows pictures of the problem, and then offers professional recommendations on how to fix it. I would just like to say that it is really refreshing to work with someone so honest and genuine. I highly recommend Bay Home Inspections.

In a word - fantastic. Professional, prompt, thorough, great to work with. The inspection report was very thorough and well written with specific pictures and examples. Michael and his helper were so professional. I've had many homes over the years and this is by far the best inspection I've ever had. I use the report as my personal guideline on getting repairs. The house was hot and filthy and they still went into ever corner looking into everything. I had questions several days later and Michael answered me quickly and gave me advice. I went back for the wind mitigation he did and it saved me nearly 2k on my insurance!! I will never use anyone else!!

Michael and his partner arrived early and began work immediately. They provided a very thorough inspection and were very Helpful and easy to work with. This was a home in very bad shape and unpleasant to be in and both Michael and partner remained upbeat and unintimidated. Report was sent in a timely manner and was very detailed and helpful. It was a very good experience and so refreshing to work with someone who still cares about the quality of their work.

Even after the inspection they were so honest that he told me that even though most condo's are $295 that this one was only $200 for the size. He could have charged me full price, but he was honest! From the moment of first contact, I could tell that I made the right decision choosing Bay Home Inspections. Michael attempted to contact me on each contact number that I provided soon after I left a message requesting their services. He provided me with a very thorough description of the services they provided. After a short conversation, I felt comfortable enough to request their services for my home inspection. I couldn't be there during the inspection, but my realtor was so impressed with the way Bay Home handled their business that she made sure that she had contact information so that she could recommend them to any clients she had in the future who needed those services. I also had a different company performing a pool inspection, and Michael ended up having to guide him through various phases of what he was supposed to be doing. Once I received the completed report, I immediately realized that money I spent for the inspection saved me at least 10 based on items he uncovered that I would have had to have fixed on my dime afterwards. Each item was a legitimate item that needed to be repaired, and not something written down to make it seem like they did their work. In the end, the seller balked at performing the repairs, and the contract was cancelled, and I feel relieved because thanks to Bay Home, I didn't purchase a home that would not have been up to my standards with regard to condition. So now I am looking for another home for potential purchase, and you can be guaranteed that I will be calling Michael ihen it comes time to have the inspection done. Thanks again...

My husband and I are first time home buyers. Michael and Jen did such an awesome inspection on the property we are looking to buy that it really gave us some peace of mind. They were very professional and they really treat their customers with care. I should also note that we had initially shopped around and called 5 inspectors before calling Bay Home Inspections. No other inspector had offered to inspect every nook and cranny of the house for that price. I would highly recommend them!

Excellent overall experience. Michael was extremely professional, helpful, and flexible. I was on a tight timeline to get this inspection done and he was able to fit me within a few days. The report came immediately following the inspection and was very detailed and thorough. The whole experience was incredible. Michael came and inspected the house thoroughly. Exterior and interior. From look and paint to function and performance. They didn't leave anything unchecked. They even did small repairs they encountered :) The team walked us around the house and explained what they found during the inspection. They provided us with advice and ideas to protect our belongings and to get the most of our investments in the house and house needs. It was informative and educational visit as well. It was just much more than a regular inspection we would expect. For example, the team pointed out to electricity problem around the Kitchen and dinning area. Michael nicely even offered to fix it because it would be a quick one. It was so kind offer but i felt it wouldn't be fair to him. The nice person Michael is; he suggested to check a certain wire setup that could be the cause behind the electricity problem. Couple of hours later after i finished work; I decided to took Michael advice and check the wires setup. Sure enough, it was exactly like Michael expected and the fix took few minutes per Michael suggestion and we got the whole area electricity functioning again in no time. YAY!!! The team pointed out quick maintenance routines that we can do to protect our appliances and new exterior doors as well. Quick and practical recommendations that average person would be capable of doing easily without taking much time. A couple of hours later after the visit is over; Michael sent me the full inspection report in a web link that has the option to download as a pdf file. The report was detailed, organized and easy to follow along with pictures of areas that would need attention, fix or monitoring. Very nice team and did a fantastic job. The inspection was so detailed. Michael & Jen arrived promptly at the scheduled time. Although I have used them in the past, this was the first time I was actually at the home the entire time. I was comletely taken back at the thorough job they did. They left no stone unturned. We thought this was the perfect home for us and realized after the inspection was completed, that the issues uncovered were more than we wanted to take on. It was quite the learning experience. It went very well. This work was done for my daughter and son-in-law after a leak was discovered in a walk through. I was not there...but he came out very quickly and did a thorough job, according to them...making them feel at ease about completing the purchase of their home. They asked me to give him a very good review...(sorry for lack of details)

I needed a wind mitigation and four point inspection ASAP! I called and received prompt service and they came out the following day and I had the report SAME DAY!! This day in age it's difficult to find people to help when you're in a bind and these folks did that!! They went above and beyond and I can't say enough about them!

First, I would like to say Michael is the best in his field. in my opinion. He is very knowledgeable, professional and extremely thorough. He personally came out with another inspected and they inspected every nook and cranny.They were prompt, a wealth information was given. and knew exactly what they were doing. He is personable and courteous and gives excellent advice on how to fix minor issues that a contractor may make into a big deal about. He also gave us valuable ideas and tips. He explained how to fix issues to avoid costly repairs. He also, which is amazing had our report ready by the end of the same day he inspected!!! AMAZING!!!! Very professional, and provided a Wind Mitigation Verification inspection report very promptly. Would definitely recommend them to others, and will use in the future if I require any other inspections on my current and future home.

This is my first review on Angie's list, and actually my first review of services ever. Candidly, I would not normally take the time to stop and submit a review. But, I feel compelled to do so, to extol Bay Home Inspections. The proprietor, Mr. Michael Bender, is absolutely top-notch. He did a highly thorough inspection of a property that I am planning to purchase in St. Petersburg. From my initial call, to which he responded promptly, through the process (highly detailed report), to the conclusion, he displayed outstanding professional skills. I cannot imagine one could find a property inspector anywhere in the Tampa/St. Petersburg/Clearwater region that could be better than Mr. Bender.

Why can't there be more service companies out there like Bay Home Inspections!!!!! From my inital phone call inquiring about a home inspection, I knew I was making the BEST choice by choosing them. We were so pleased from the first phone call to the receipt of the inspection. The team arrived early, began right away and completed in the promised amount of time. They were very thorough with their explanations of every item on the inspection report. I wasn't even home for the day when the report was in my email box waiting, complete with pictured documentation of each item and a suggested remedy. I never felt rushed when asking questions and I was even encouraged to call back with any questions or concerns as they arise in the future. My wife and I are in the process of purchasing our first home. The home is a foreclosure being sold as-is so it was important to us to find a thorough inspector. We chose to find one off of Angies list because we did not know who to trust. We called Michael because of the high ratings and comments from other users. Michael and his assistant provided a very thorough inspection. He seemed knowledgeable and experienced. Our realtor commented that he was one of the most thorough inspectors they have dealt with. Michael was responsive to all calls, emails and questions. He did not mind educating us on areas we were not familiar with being first time buyers. Overall we are glad we selected him as our Inspector and feel comfortable with the home we are purchasing because of how through his inspection was. The inspection report Michael provides is also appreciated, it is very easy to follow and we feel that we will be able to use it when hiring subcontractors to perform work in the future. It will aid us in communicating to the subcontractors exactly what we are looking to have fixed. I like the fact this is provided via a web link, it makes it easy to access when needed. The reports were also delivered very timely. This is the first time I have used a home inspector, so I do not have anything to compare his service too, but overall we are highly satisfied with the inspection, reports, professionalism, cost and knowledge that we received with this hire. I would recommend hiring this Inspector, especially if you are weary about the home you are about to purchase.
