Description of Work: The work done was excellent, but all of the workers speak ONLY Spanish and I only speak English. In addition, there is big communication problem with the office staff. Messages are not delivered and one has to continually call.

Description of Work: They installed 2 hurricane windows and 2 hurricane doors. I was warned to remove all curtains etc. The salesman said they'd be careful.Everything they touched got dirty. A floor lamp near the door was scratched. One tile was broken, which they took care of immediately and perfectly, another was knicked, which they didn't report.I saw it before the job was done, but let it go. Though the doors open both ways, the screen only locks on one side and on both doors, that side is where the pull is for the verticals. It would have been preferable to be on the other side. I didn't realize this until the frame was already installed. I don't know if it could have been changed or not. Also on one of the windows, it opens from right to left. Unfortunately, an outside sprinkler is right next to that window. I would have liked it to open on the other side. Was that an option? I don't know. No one mentioned it. |Nonetheless, the windows and the doors work well, the workers worked hard,did their part and left. They didn't waste time and they were fine to have in the house. They were obliging regarding returning furniture that had to be moved out of the way. I would use this company again, it helps to know the right questions to ask.

Description of Work: This was a huge investment and I researched 5 hurricane impact companies. I choose SIW based on the quality of the window. It was heavy duty compared to competitors. So far the windows and sliders are beautiful. Work well and no leaks.

Description of Work: I used SIW for impact windows throughout my home. I am very satisfied with the product and service that they delivered. SIW manufactures their own products to a very high standard. Compare quality with the competition and they will win every time. Plus they are a local company. Since they are the manufacture, the prices they offer are very competitive. Be prepared to wait a while for your windows/doors if you are going use them for installation because they have a very high demand. I replaced all the windows in my home about a year ago with impact and i have just recently placed an order to replace my doors. I would definitely recommend at least stopping by the showroom to talk with a salesman and check out the product if you are in the market for impact windows or doors.

Description of Work: Briefly, some words about the installation work and the personnel on the project just completed on our home. Outstanding job, terrific product, and great people! From the day we walked in the showroom door, the sales consultant Stan Jannings was thorough and professional, and walked us through each anticipated step of the process (including the assembly factory). He knows the product and represents the company extremely well. And he shows up on time, every time! Replacing all 14 windows and three entrance doors, as well as five sets of sliders with french doors, was - to us - a big project...about $40,000! And the installers were polite and incredibly efficient, as well as neat. Way beyond expectations! We have owned businesses in the past and know the challenges in hiring and retaining good people. We truly appreciate the follow-up and follow-through during the project by the owner, Abe. We certainly recommend SIW to anyone looking for impact doors and windows in south Florida. 28 September 2012

+ -1 moreOMGoodness! We LOVE our DOORS!!! We went to SIW to replace our 3 exterior doors to bring our house up to hurricane standards. We looked at doors from a few other companies just not impressed with what was offered. THEN, we arrived at SIW ...their products were beautiful and there were lots of options for custom designing your doors to fit your home, style and budget! And a totally low pressure process. Before we looked at doors...someone came to measure and give a quick estimate ....then we went to the showroom and were able to pick and choose different options to fit our style and budget! They required a 50% deposit. Isabel kept us updated on our the status of our project. And any little issues that arouse were handled quickly. Abe, the owner, even showed up at our house to check things out.And you can probably get doors for less money BUT they won't be as beautiful as these doors. Did I say...I LOVE OUR DOORS!!!??? ( I only wish we had their windows...we already have other impact resistant windows :-( )THANK YOU! thank you!

One deposit was made windows were ordered.....took about 8 weeks to fabricate, a bit longer than they said it would be, but not a problem. windows and doors were installed in 2 days. installers were meticulous. product was excellent and quality exceptional.

+ 1 moreEXCELLENT! Before you choose a company to install windows, call / visit SIW. The factory / showroom is on COngress in Delray. We were all set to go with another company, and by lucky chance decided to visit SIW. WE WERE BLOWN AWAY BY THE PRODUCT AND BY THE EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE. We went there on a Saturday, and Abe the owner personally gave us a tour of the factory! The other companies we studied did not manufacture the windows, and they had big discussions about how to manipulate standard windows to make them fit into our screened patio, which had a slight slope for rain run-off. THIS WAS NO PROBLEM FOR SIW. They manufacture the windows and doors, and can make adjustments for many conditions. Everything went perfectly, and our glass-walled patio is beautiful. Recently (2 years later) we noticed a tiny leak, and when we called SIW, Abe (owner) came out the very next day to inspect it, and determined the reason. Right away men came to fix the problem. One call took care of the problem. THIS IS AN EXCELLENT COMPANY!
Description of Work: This is my 2nd report, an update. I submitted a report when most of the work was done in 2010. That is what cost $20,000.00. In 2010 SIW reinforced the foundation of our screened patio and then installed hurricane windows and a door all around to create a gorgeous glass-walled patio. The major part of this work was done in 2010, but recently Abe (owner) came to our house to personally inspect and supervise the repair of a tiny leak that had appeared in caulking near the door. There was no charge for this.

The door needed some adjustments about a week after the installation and SIW came right out and made the adjustments within a day of contacting them. We worked with Mike Marzigliano and he was excellent at every phase of the design, planning & installation process. We would recommend SIW Widows and Doors to anyone who is looking for a beautiful custom made Entry Door for their home.
Description of Work: We purchased a "Single Entry Glass Hurricane Door" from SIW Windows and Doors. The door was custom made and took about 6 weeks to complete the manufacturing process. We ordered a door pull handle from a company in New Zealand and SIW installed the door handle at no additional cost.

I gave them a B rating, not because of the quality was less tham expected, it is because i am a perfectionist and my expectations are probably not realistic. I would use them again and recommend them to others. I had planned on replacing the rest of my windows sometime in 2011 and i will again be getting a estimate from SIW. They could have taken more care in covering the floors against damage. I ended up doing it for them to insure a painless installation.
Description of Work: I had three sliding glass doors and one window replaced with Hurricane Rated French doors and one window.

+ 0 moreWe are extremely pleased. This was one of the best decisions we ever made. The result is beautiful. We received 2 other bids before choosing SIW. SIW was the highest bid, but not by much. We examined the quality of the other windows, and we were a little worried about their ability to withstand hurricane winds near the ocean, where we live. While we were deciding, we went to the SIW factory and saw the windows and process. WE WERE ASTOUNDED BY THE HIGH QUALITY. Plus, because SIW manufactures the windows, they were able to customize them to accomodate an irregular wall size. The company seems to be very busy, and we had to wait longer than we had hoped for completion, but that was a small price to pay for the end result. Abe Lopez, the owner, and Dave Martina, sales rep, were very responsive and involved.

+ -1 moreThey were great in terms of the first contact to the very last. We got 3 estimates for the job, with one much higher than SIW, and one slightly lower. After a tour of their facility and meeting many of their employees, including the owner, we decided to go with them. The installers were very professional, hard-working, and kept the dust that you normally get to a minimum. We gave them each a tip because we appreciated what they did. After the job was completed, SIW sent 2 other workers out to repair some of the stucco around the windows on the outside of the house. They even matched the texture of the existing finish. Throughout the entire process, the office receptionist kept us informed and was very courteous and professional as well. SIW has our highest recommendation!

+ -1 moreIt starts with the rude receptionist and goes down hill. They put up plastic sheeting then they were installing the door, the installers were two young guys who spoke little English and seemed unprepared and poorly trained. The plastic sheeting was held up with painters tape, when they took it down it removed large areas of paint from the interior walls. They didn't say anything and when I brought it to their attention they seemed to think it was just fine. I called Abe at SIW Windows and told him a painter charged me $150 to repair the damage. He replied said it wasn't their fault it must have been a bad paint job. SIW Windows, were the customer is always wrong.
Description of Work: They were hired to replace a patio door with a storm door.
