SIW Windows and Doors

We had windows installed in our condo and they were the absolute worst when it came to instalation! They had a crew that had no idea and little experience when it came to using the lift to our 4th floor unit. Besides that they installed several windows that leaked the first time it rained. Onecwindow had a crack, screen was torn and they drilled in the floor two holes for no reason. A real nightmare using this company!!

Do not use! If I could give 0 stars I would. Impact doors and windows were installed and have become permanently cloudy due to what SIW says is a defect in the glass and they will not fix! We would have to pay for a replacement.

They do not honor warranty. They do not even return phone calls and will tell you they are working on service when they are not. They also painted the aluminum part of my door to hide install damage so I would pay them and now paint is oxidized and my door looks horrible, they refuse to fix it. Dishonest company.

Not completed in time frame promised. Two doors were "missing" and it took several days to find them and get them installed. One of the large windows was cracked. It was installed as the original window had already been removed and the framing for the new window installed. We were told that new glass was rush ordered and would be ready in 7 - 10 days, over a month later and we still don't have the glass. There are evidently two coordinators assigned to our project and at least one of them ought to be fired, the other one I will reserve judgement on at this time. Terrible lack of communication, lots of excuses, lies, and they do not listen when you tell them something. Supposedly there is an office manager but when I called he wasn't in and they didn't know when he would be in, but he would call me; he didn't. Would highly recommend that you DO NOT hire SIW Windows unless you enjoy spending money to be treated in such an unprofessional manner and feeling totally frustrated.

Worst company follow-through, interaction and customer relations ever experienced. This is not something I like to take my time to do. As I won’t wish what transpired to happen to anyone else, it’s an obligation to help someone else from a having a bad experience, wasting time & energy. So this is just factual: We engaged with SIW in February for a new front entry door via online form and received a general quote via email. We were going to have our house painted and wanted to coordinate the installation of the new door, so timing was important. This is where things turned sower. • I went to office to get further insight about the quote and what options were available. For the type of door wanted, we were advised we could basically design anything and have it replicated. • I put many hours in research and design to get the transom and door that would truly fit our house. • Calls for appointments or follow-up were met often with ‘unavailable’ or ‘out of office’. • At mid-March, our Sales Agent recommended to go to office to flush our details of design but person at the office could not provide detail and recommended writing up all details in email and sending to Sales Agent. • We received the quote the next day for door cost but nothing about what could or could not be done from a design point or transom option(s). • After a few back & forths about the design mockup status, we were advised that the photos and email with design details were sent over to the Designer. • 5 weeks later . . no follow-up to us from SIW. • Contacting the office, find the Sales Agent is on vacation. We make the Owner, Abe, aware of the situation and he advises us to send the door details directly to him and he’d address it. • Into 2nd week post delivery of details (at mid-May now), no follow-up to us. • We reach out again and do get a reply from Abe with images of two doors he states that have been done with similar designs to what we’ve proposed. 1 is a door they’ve already made and the other is 1 of my design drawings. We become confused as we’ve been waiting for mockup from their Designer from designs we’ve proposed, that we’ve been told could be done, not selecting from pre-made doors. • After several more attempts at communication we finally got an office visit scheduled, walked through door design directly with Abe, and got confirmation, again, that all was possible. He told us to contact him directly with any future issues. Two days later, SIW did come to measure our door. We waited patiently for the design mockup to review. • Two weeks had passed, again without any update. Calling directly on Friday, first time, we find it was forgotten to give to the Designer. We are now end of May. • After a couple of conversations to get things back on track, we contacted Abe one more time next day, just for ETA on mockup delivery which we requested the day before but did not receive. At that point in time he states abruptly before even hearing our request that he doesn’t want to work with us, he’ll refund our deposit, and hangs up. • This came to as a surprise and resulted in the abrupt end of our working relationship. It’s now the beginning of June. • We did get our deposit back. Two weeks later, we also receive a call from SIW asking for information, so they can refund our deposit. Being honest I advise we already have it, nothing more to be done, but confirmation of office disorganization. This all took 4 months, the time we should have had a door installed. We didn’t even get one started. We put in allot of effort and trusted it would be worth it. We have the details of many emails, the visits to the office and inappropriate business responses. Any spin or angle will be an attempt cover the inappropriate actions taken. though any response is of no interest. We did get our deposit back; however, we did not get a door nor back our time back and energy involved, which was significant. And the lack of professionalism and follow through of this organization forces us to warn anyone looking to use SIW for work.

The glass in the door was installed backwards. When we asked them to correct they lied and stated that the glass was “required” to be installed that way by the building code and/or the manufacturer.

The salesman came out and measured for all the openings. He left a detailed brochure that also included his business card and explained that he would email me their proposal within 48 hours. Since it was Wednesday afternoon I gave him through the weekend to get it. I called on the following Monday and left a message on his phone. Additionally I have contacted the office 3 additional times. That was 3 weeks ago and have yet to receive any update.

worst customer service I have ever experienced - Lourdes is absolutely the most obnoxious and rude person I have ever dealt with. Install was supposed to be done weeks ago and still nothing. had to purchase hurricane shutters because of the delay. never again. so rude

Very Good Job!! Honored the contract and other family members have used the Service. Very! Happy with the service! Make sure everything is in the contract to perform the service. The Owner came out to visit. They are very honest people.

I contacted them thru their website on or about September 19th. I received a call from a sales person two days later. The person made an appointment to come out and measure my windows. He said he would measure the windows, look at the job, and send me an estimate. The job was to replace all the doors and windows in my home with impact resistant products. Its October 19th and I've never been contacted again. I've thrown away the sales persons name and number. i am happy to see their are so busy with work they can't follow-up or provide an estimate. As an aside this is my first attempt to use a company from Angie's list, and not very confident in the site now.

Excellent, there were no issues at all. Pricing was fair for the quality and quantity. They removed the old windows and doors, including my old accordion shutters and disposed of everything. Inside, they were neat and careful, cleaned up after themselves and the finish work was excellent.

Never hired as they never returned the estimate. I called they said they would call back they never did. Company is very disorganized and unprofessional They lost out on a $50,000. 00 job.

I have been waiting for over 2 1/2 weeks for the estimate. The company representative came out over an hour before the scheduled time so no-one was available to discuss specifics. I called the office a week ago to ask if I was going to get an estimate the young ladies response was she would have to check with the person who came to my home and he would call me shortly. I was promised the original estimate in two days. I informed the person who answered the phone that this was creating a terrible impression of the company. She just said someone would call. Very disorganized company in drastic need of service help.

High quality products. Great company to work with. It pays to work with local manufacturer. Minor flaw in paint finish was taken care of same day by changing affected parts only. With out of town manufacturer it would have taken weeks, if not months. Congratulations to Abe and his team.

We got estimates from 6 different window companies. They were all good vendors. But Abe Lopez and SIW windows stood out from the pack. Their price was very reasonable and their product was the best looking and best constructed. There is a mix of casement, stationary, and sliding windows - none of them are the same size. Only 1 out of 5 sets of sliding doors were considered standard. We have 2 very large 4 pane sliders and 2 very large 3 panel doors that open on top of each other (the same effect as if they were pocket doors). All the other companies said we would have to have the door sills and frames built out for the thicker hurricane doors. SIW said they could install in the existing frame without added depth. The other companies suggested replacing the 3 panel doors with French doors. The object of the 3 panel doors are so our family room walls are totally open to our pool and patio. With French doors we would lose that feature. Abe created very nice 3 panel sliders for those areas. He was the only vendor who was able to keep with the original design without adding depth - which would look ugly from the patio. The doors are very heavy and air tight, and look great! We had a leak under our front bay window that had cracked the dry wall inside. His crew opened the wall, took the insulation out, repaired the outside and inside of the block foundation, and reinstalled the insulation and dry wall before they installed the 5 panel bay window (2 casements and 3 stationary windows). The first time they put the windows in, the angles were off in regard to the 10" block sill and being equal distance at each end of the opening. They reinstalled them 2 more times before the windows lined up perfectly. Abe made sure the guys did it right. The installation was done in a week with minimum mess (we stayed in the house during the whole process). They repaired the stucco on the door sills of the sliders (which needed repair before the new doors) and painted where needed. The guy who did the stucco was excellent. All in all, the job was done professionally, the crew was great, and the end product is the best!

Excellent, the professionalism, cleanliness and detailed work of the SIW crews were outstanding. We would recommend anyone doing this kind of job in their homes to contacts SIW. We got great service from the salesman Xavier and all the crews that did the installation. They clean the whole work area, both inside and outside the house. OUTSTANDING!!!! From the initial meeting with Paul, the salesman we knew we were in good hands. Quote was more than fair(we had 4 others) and their payment plan was easily doable. Not only do you get to meet with Abe Lopez the owner but he also gives you a tour of the factory where everything is made(it's unbelievable). From then on Abe is totally hands on and is always available to take your calls as well as coming to your home several times during the installation to check on the job .From start to finish there is not a problem that Abe does not handle to your complete satisfaction-and always with a smile on his face. Throughout the installation we basically had 2 crews headed by Coco and Danny ,both so unbelievably competent .Not only was the jobsite left extremely clean everyday but each and every installer was spotless about his person. Others that worked on the job were Jose ,Guermo and Ray who all take such pride in their work .We had some very large and difficult windows and an even more difficult front door and there was never a complaint or a shortcut taken. In the end we are thrilled with the job and would recommend S.I.W. to all.

They were very timely - daily arrival times were spot on. They were neat and organized and it went well. The building inspectors were very complimentary of their work. The finishers (plaster / stucco repairs) were very thorough.

This was Phase II of a window replacement project. Phase I was last year in June and it went extremely well. Their product is great and their staff and installers super. Lisandro and Harry are extremely professional and their work shows it. We are finishing up this year's project with an additional 2 doors and a picture window. Highly recommend them.

It was a very good price compared to Home Depot. They sell directly, so in other words there's no markup. That was one of the things and then the service was very good. The staff was very good. They were on time and they delivered when they said they would. I would definitely recommend them and they're excellent all the way around. I was very pleased. The quality might be a little bit less than very, very superior.

They did an excellent job. They repaired all interior and exterior damage to walls. They took no shortcuts in getting the windows to fit and work well. The repairs to the wall were of a very hi quality. When painted everything looked perfect. found the workers were polite and very clean. It was a very messy jog but they put up barriers and floor coverings and very little dirt and debris spread through the house. There was a minor problem communicating with the workers because of language but I had someone at the office to talk to and they had a supervisor come to explain what was going to happen.

I spent 6 months researching providers of hurricane impact window and I made the absolute best choice with SIW. Everything from start to finish was extremely professional. Mike, the salesman who was my initial contact was extremely helpful and patient. Installation of these windows is a project and was expertly handled that way. Once the contract was signed Isabel coordinated the entire project flawlessly. There is a team of installers, who were wonderful. Then after the windows are installed there is a team that comes in and repairs stucco and foundation; they also did a wonderful job. Everyone was extremely neat. I was at work when all this was going on and every evening when I came home I walked into a very neat and clean environment. Isabel even coordinates the inspection. The Palm Beach county inspector said that he was very happy with the job and that I should be too and I am. Even my maintenance staff comment on the wonderful job that was done. I plan on replacing the remaining windows in my condo and will definitely have SIW perform the work. Thank you very much SIW for a job extremely well done.
