SIW Windows and Doors

We received about five estimates for impact for our pocket door sliders and one window. The SIW brand was the only one that could provide screens with the impact pocket door sliders. We called another local, top impact manufacturer directly to confirm they could not do this. SIW was also the only company we met with that included in their price and services the repair to drywall, stucco and tiles that got damaged from install. And SIW's prices were still competitive with other companies. SIW also made clear that they truly customize the doors and windows to fit our home. Other companies offered the SIW product. But, we decided to order through SIW directly because they treated us well, were responsive to our questions, gave us the best pricing for the SIW product (which makes sense), would make those repairs, and we believed their product was excellent. Abe, the owner, and one of his sales reps came out to our home. After, we went to visit their showroom and factory in Delray. Abe showed us around himself. They were sensitive to and respectful of our budget and did not push at all. The permitting process (which SIW takes care of for a nominal fee) and installation went smoothly. One of the best install experiences with a contractor that we have had. The installers were respectful, nice and worked constantly (no messing around on their cell phones, for example). When the install was completed (on time, too), SIW began to repair our interior and exterior damage from install. This process went well at first, then fell apart a bit. We contacted Abe and he got everyone on the same page. Things went wonderfully afterward. SIW did such a good job with the repairs that you can't tell we had any damage from the install. They really went out of their way to make our home look terrific. Know that SIW does not paint. But remember, no other company we contacted included the repairs that SIW did. The sliders and window passed inspection the first time the inspector came. The scheduling process for inspection also went smooth as can be. We ordered solar cool (a tint) solely to give us privacy (people cannot see in during the day). The solar cool cut out a drastic amount of natural light from our home. The loss of light is something we wish we had known about before ordering. We may not have ordered it. We have already recommended SIW to other people (one of whom is my father). Even the inspector asked about SIW for his own home when he saw how our home came out. We would use SIW again.

Very professional company. Top notch In all aspects from the sales experience to installation. We researched at least 6 other companies and the price ranged wildly as well as reviews and BBB checks. Most did not have showrooms so we put off making a decision until an architect said clients were very satisfied with SIW. We visited the showroom and knew immediately this was the firm we were going to contract with for our replacement windows. Our installers were great and put up plastic barriers to capture most of the dust. SIW also removed our old accordions and frames for shutter panels. They repatched and repaired the stucco. The windows passed inspection and the inspector mentioned that it was a good job. We were very pleased and impressed with the entire experience. It is a definitely a plus to have a showroom and facility that manufactures your windows all in one place. We would recommend SIW for anyone replacing impact windows!

I had driven by SIW's location a few times, they are locally owned and manufacture their product which I like. So when we made the decision to replace our doors and windows with impact. I was very happy to learn that they are an Angie's List Super Service award recipient. From the 3 estimates I had theirs was the easiest to understand and the sales person was the only one who listened when I asked for a quote on both sliders and french doors. The installers were meticulous in their work sealing off the areas they worked in to reduce as much dust as possible. They went to great lengths to insure the least amount of damage to the exterior and meticulously opened and closed the doors until they worked perfectly. The replacement interior trim work is flawless. The quality of the doors and windows is top notch, the impact is very highly rated and has a lifetime guarantee if the glass is broken by a burglar, noise reduction and energy efficiency is amazing. The installers took pictures of the interior structure as they were installing and dropped off the photos for the final inspection which was a breeze. The inspector commented that they are one of the better companies in the area. We had 10 windows, 2 sets of french doors, one single french door, a side entry door and main entry front door installed. The design of our front door is unique and absolutely beautiful, we have received several compliments on it. Why the B?...The original crew, Ordanny, was great. A second crew showed up a few days into the job and the difference between the two was notable. They were speed oriented, anxious to get to the recycle yard with the aluminum from the old windows and aluminum storm shutters, which I gave as a tip, about $200-#300 worth. I had to clean up broken glass in my yard. Scheduling and communication was difficult not because of a language barrier but workers showing up a day early or late. Stucco was scheduled on a day I was to have surgery and could not be rescheduled because of exposure to the elements however it had been 8 days with a lot of rain since the installation was finished. I think it was rushed so they could get the job done before I got home from the hospital. It was sloppy, I had to clean stucco from our porch floors and scrape some of the globs from the wall before painting it. The job took a long time. We signed our contract with upgrades and paid 50% deposit on June 4th with installation mid Aug, job started Sept 15th. Some of the upgrades were not noted and we had to wait for a side entry door to be manufactured and re-installed. The job was finished mid Nov. I had called the owner who is genuinely concerned and engaged in his business about the upgrades left off the order. He said he would call the following week but I did hear from him again. Reading the reviews I expected someone to come by during the installation and that the windows would be cleaned, neither was the case and I will have to have the windows cleaned. All that said I would recommend them and use them again. I think the issues I had are growing pains because of the high quality of their product, they are very busy. I also recommend getting a copy of your work order with any upgrades made at signing, I had asked for it and did not get it and did not push it...insist on it.

Professionalism from first contact to finished job. Repaired stucco caused by removal of old windows and doors, everything neatly caulked and sealed. The crew used plastic sheeting to keep dust out and air conditioning in areas where they worked. Complete clean-up and removal or old windows/doors. They even Windexed the new windows and doors. The custom front door and side lights were beyond our expectations. We were totally impressed with the quality of the workmanship and service. We will definitely recommend this company to our friends. It was a pleasure doing business with a company that actually cares about their customers.

The complete job was professional from start to finish, and this includes Paul, the salesman who sold us the job, Will, the engineer who came to make the final measurements, and the staff of installers. We were especially impressed with the fact that the owner of the company stopped by while the installation was in progress, to ensure that everything was progressing smoothly and to our satisfaction. The installation was amazing in that once it began, it was completed in record time. The majority of the work was completed by a three-man team, but at times they were joined by additional two-or-three-man teams. Of special note is that the installers were very careful and neat. They covered up furniture prior to beginning any of the demolition work (removing the old awning windows) and they actually cleaned up after themselves, each day. Outstanding workmanship and outstanding respect for us and our belongings. We have every intention of hiring SIW again in order to replace some more of our existing awning-type windows. It should be noted that I am a retired Florida Certified General Contractor and former Certified Building Official. I have unfortunately seen sub-standard windows installed and have witnessed sloppy, unprofessional installations. I am pleased to report that SIW has a great product, their installation is excellent, and it was a pleasure dealing with the entire staff.

In 2012, we had all our windows replaced by SIW and the quality and support was excellent. Dave Martina was our main contact and he was very responsive. At the end of 2013, we continued the replacements by having SIW install 2 sets of French doors at the patio and a door on the side of the house that opens into the laundry room. Again, top quality and great installers. we will soon have the last couple of doors done and will again go to SIW. After nearly 2 years, our windows still look new and function perfectly.

The company and their employees have done a great job. As I type this, they are at the end of a 2 week install. From start to finish, they have been responsive and pro-active in the estimates, measuring and installation of their product. This is Phase 1 of two phases of window replacement in my home. They will do Phase II and I would definitely refer them to anyone interested in the installation of their fine product(s).

Great company to work with. They were very punctual. Very good quality doors. Superior to PGT in every way. Cost a little more but you get what you pay for. Had an issue with one of the installs and siw came out and fixed the problem immediately. We will definitely use them again when it's time to replace the windows. We even took a tour of the manufacturing facility before purchasing.

The installation crew were very professional. Installation was done very well. Had some minor issues but Abe the owner came out to the house and had it taken care of right away. I would recommend SIW

SWI and Mr. Paul Mora provided material cost of replacement windows. Mr. Mora was very professional, courteous, responsive and timely. We did not purchase the windows from this supplier but will certainly love to do business with SWI in the future.

We have been shopping for a new entry door for the past year. It was a frustrating process but we did learn what we wanted. We found SIW on Angie's List and decided to give them a try. We went to the showroom...they had the most extensive examples of the doors and decorative glass we were interested in, as well as tours on how their doors are made, on their premises. We were able to see and pick the door, hurricane decorative glass, the hardware right there within less than an hour! There prices are not cheap, but they were more reasonable than any other door we priced out and made so much, more solidly! The cost included, the door with hurricane decorative glass, removal of old door, work to our front step (so door would be seated properly), installing door, repairing the step sill outside of door...additional cost for work permit and follow up inspection ($240) They knew their products and were right on with their timeline and installation of our new entry door. We ordered the door, we paid a percentage of the price, they came out promptly to measure and order glass. They stated it would take 6-8 weeks, it took about 7 weeks. The first set of glass came in with a blemish, they called prior to our first install date, apologized and made sure the glass was replaced within 10 days and rescheduled install within the a few days after. They arrived as stated, with a permit from the city, put up plastic sheet to prevent cement dust from entering house, installed door, door hardware and cleaned up (approximately 6 hours). The next day another workman came to complete cement work on outdoor step and around door. All done exemplary, neatly, professionally and competently! We had a problem with door lock, they sent someone out within a day to make adjustments. Now all is working great! They requested additional payment when door installed, holding out about $850 until the inspection was complete, which they scheduled, called us with day and requested we be home to let in. Someone from SIW brought over pictures of installation process the day before. The next day the inspector appreciated the complete info packet with pictures from SIW, he was able to approve the project within 5 minutes. Overall, we are so happy with the entire process and enjoyed working with SIW. We have had other unrelated projects done on this house over the years and they have been a nightmare to complete, pay and inspect. We will use SIW in the future when we are ready to replace our windows or patio doors. They let us know if any problem comes up to call them and they will resolve quickly and we believe them! I would highly recommend this company!

I am planning to change about 6 windows and 4 doors in my house. I called a few local companies to get an estimate. My experience with this particular company was quite disturbing. I emailed the request for the salesperson to come to my house. There was no response for a few days. I called the office and was told that the salesman would call in a couple of hours. He called around 6 pm (6 hours later) which was OK. It was on Monday. He told me that he would come on Friday and he can't come earlier. I told him that I'd like to finish the process of choosing the company on that particular week and that I have already scheduled a couple of representatives to come. Therefore, I told him, if I choose someone before Friday, I'd give him a call not to come. In response he told me that if I'm shopping around, there is no use for him even to bother and he won't come. After that, he hang up on me. I was in shock! I called the office and left the message describing how disappointed and frustrated I felt after talking to their representative. Next day the owner of the company called and apologized, but... during the same conversation the owner told me that the salesman told him that it was me who cancelled the appointment. And that he (the owner) has to investigate. Investigate what? I was polite and nice, and their man was rude and unprofessional. Although, this company has a lot of good responses and I'm not arguing that they do a good job, I won't use them ever. Salespeople are the face of the company. And if they behave in such a way, I simple don't trust the company with their services.

This was a 2.5 days project November 2013 that began with three visits to the Delray Beach manufacturing plant (full tour) and showroom after we received two other estimates. From the first sales visit to the final detailed post installation visits (two) we knew we had chosen the best of three firms. SIW was recommended by a trusted architect (also Delray Beach-based). SIW was the only in-town manufacturing facility. Owners Abe and Will made themselves available to us during the process. Abe showed up unannounced at our home during installation and stayed a full hour to ensure the quality work we were promised and we received. Will personally confirmed the critical measurements prior to manufacturing. Will later personally visited the work site a second time to test and tweak every installed window and the grand front door assembly. Because SIW kept their promises, delivered what we ordered, and professionally installed each window and the front door assembly we achieved the following: a) Safety from hurricanes, b) Security from break-ins, c) Efficiency (low energy costs), and d) Huge potential return on investment with an estimated 86 to 100% return on costs for the elegant custom-manufactured front door assembly. Trained associates in the office (scheduling, accounting, sales), and onsite installers (2) and "touch-up" teams (2) are all welcome to this day in our home. We waited until January, 2014 before writing this review to be sure there were no open issues. There are none. My wife and I would enter into the entire process again, if the opportunity presented itself. That's how enthusiastic about SIW. City inspection was approved with no delay.

In 2012, they installed 11 windows with impact glass and in 2013, patio french doors. Firstly, the products are of outstanding quality and the owner Abe and sales guy Dave really put themselves out to give great service and support. Isobel in the office is also excellent. We had a couple of minor issues, but SIW immediately addressed both situations to our complete satisfaction. One small negative is that the guys who come and finish of the stucco work can be a bit sloppy, but again, Abe and his team immediately sort out any minor problems. After originally getting 6 quotes for the replacement windows/doors, my impression is that SIW's products are top of the line and the company is first rate. Next year, we plan to have the final 3 doors replaced and we will go to SIW without hesitation, as we have complete confidence in them.

THE OWNERS ABE AND WILL ARE AWESOME. MY WHOLE FAMILY USED THEM. NOT ONLY WERE THEY PUNCTUAL AND ON TIME THEY DID THE WHOLE HOUSE IN THREE DAYS WITH MINIMAL MESS. THERE PRODUCT IS WONDERFUL AND SO ARE THEY. I HAD A SMALL ISSUE 5 YEARS LATER AND THEY CAME OUT AND FIXED!!! AMAZING COMPANY. VERY FEW OUT THERE BUT THIS IS ONE!

We first ordered three windows and two weeks later ordered three more. When the first order was complete the office contacted me and gave us an installation date. We inquired about the other order and was told that they were in the process of manufacturing. My wife and I visited the showroom on a Saturday to verify the order and found out that the second order was not even placed for manufacturing. We were introduced to the owner who contacted our salesman to expedite the second order and have them ready for installation when the first order was to be installed. I called a few days before our installation date to make sure that all six windows were ready to be installed but was told by the scheduling office that only three windows were ready. I contacted the owner and he reassured me that all six windows would be installed. On the day of installation the truck pulled up and only had three windows on it but I was assured by the lead installed that the other would arrive soon. A few hours later the other three windows arrived. The installation went without any hitches and the city building inspector was very informative about the installation and windows. Due to time constraintes I arranged with the inspector the final inspection the next day. With all of the windows installed the installation crew cleaned up after themselves to meet my wife's standards. The installation looks great and when my wife came home she could not believe how great the windows looked. We are now saving for the remaining windows to be replaced by SIW Windows as soon as possible.

We bought a home in Delray Beach that needed quite a bit of work. One of the projects was replacing the old windows & doors with hurricane impact rated windows and french doors. I received bids and met with 5 companies and talked with neighbors, researched online, etc. I chose SIW based on their reputation and was not disappointed. They worked with me on getting the style I was trying to achieve, made some pricing concessions to get closer to my budget and provided the product when promised. The installation process took less time than anticipated and the crew was hard working and polite. They accidentally broke a marble windowsill and not only did they quickly replace it, but they also put one in on a new window that didn't have one. The owner of the company stopped by every day of the installation process to check on the work and make sure I was happy. Even the neighbors noticed how well the crew worked and a couple have called SIW to inquire about replacing their windows based on my experience and the look of the product. They were definitely a high point in the roller coaster ride of home remodeling.

The owner was on top of the job through the entire process and the work was done on time and exactly as promised. From the owner, sales department and all the way to the installers and products used, we were extremely pleased. We would highly recommend their services without reservation!

They did an excellant job from beginning to end. The front entry door was ordered incorrectly but they corrected without any hassle at all. Thank you Abe. The installer was excellant did a great job no mess what so ever. I highly recommend this company. I will use them again when I do my patio doors.

SIW Windows and Doors installed windows and they were exceptional. They did a very good job, and they kept in touch with me the whole time. It took a while, about six weeks to get them in, because I think they are very busy. But once they got on the job, they did a very good job. They cleaned up, I think the price was right, and I would highly recommend them.

The installation was wonderful. They were always there and would come back if I needed anything at all. I would highly recommend them. Their price is not cheap, but I felt that the quality of the door was worth the extra money.

All in all, I would say that I could not make even one suggestion as to how they could make any improvements in their way of doing business.

Company representatives were professional. They explained in detail all phases of work, the work schedule and its cost. All work was completed as scheduled at the agreed cost. In addition, without any extra charge, they repainted the house walls around all window frames. The quality of work was checked and approved by the City inspector during his three visits. We have been highly satisfied with their work and can recommend this company without hesitation.
