This is the second time I have used Mike and his team to handle the financing of my properties. The first was a refinance which they did a great job and now for the purchase of my investment property. They handled everything in a timely manner, the process went smooth and we closed on time.

I have obtained several home loans in the past, and the experience of getting this loan was definitely the most efficient and pleasant experiences. I was apprehensive about applying for a mortgage online and not using my personal bank, but I did a search on Angie's List and found Mike Murgatroy's name and read the reviews. I decided to try this route, and I could not have been more pleased. I was kept informed of each step the entire process. They are well organized and everything was transparent. It was extremely easy to communicate with his entire team, and they were all very prompt in returning e-mails or phone calls. His entire team was so efficient! It was a very short process, too. I got a pre-approval letter and closed on the home in less than 2 months! I would highly recommend them to any of my friends and family...and would definitely use them again in the future.

I worked with Andrew and had a good experience with my refinance. Refinancing is always full of questions and he patiently answered all of them for me and helped me make the right decisions for our mortgage moving forward. We were able to refinance out of our FHA into a conventional loan, which, along with a drop in our initial rate, is saving us approximately $400 / month now. Our timeline slipped a few times and I had to pester a few times for updates after immediately providing any materials asked for, but I was never placed on "terminal hold" or told I would be contacted and I wasn't. If I asked a question I pretty quickly got a direct response and I was never misinformed or lied to. I would gladly do business with these folks again!

We worked with Andrew Fishman on Mike's team at Guaranteed Rate for our home loan. He was very knowledgeable, responsive, and confident in his ability to provide us with the best service and loan package around. He was right! Everything went very smoothly from start to finish. He got us to closing on time and all of the numbers in the end were exactly as he said in the beginning (no hidden costs or surprises). We're not local to Guaranteed Rate, so we were nervous at first to work with them long distance on something so important. They quickly proved to us that there was no need to worry! We will not hesitate to work with this outstanding company again in the future!

Mike, Peter and Connie were very helpful. We purchased a condo in Austin, Texas and even though they are based in Florida we closed without issue in 30 days. I've purchased a few properties over the past 25+ years and this process went very smoothly. The cost was great ($1090 fee less 150 lender credit so net $940). The team was very responsive to our needs and turned around all the documents in a timely manner. I highly recommend Mike Murgatroy and his Guaranteed Rate team.

Mike and his team have found rates for me which other mortgage brokers have thrown their arms in the air and said "I don't know how they did it, but that's a rate I would take." I know I sound like I must be Mike's mom but honestly I am not! I found him on Angie's List a few years ago and I never even think about using anyone else now. I'm so glad he's so much younger than me because I just know this guy will always be there when I need financing. This is the kind of service you just don't think exists anymore these days. Prompt, courteous, informed... I can't say enough good about this company.

I had been looking for a house for a couple months on the internet but thought I should wait six months to a year before I could qualify. However, on the July 4th weekend, I saw the perfect house online and decided to find out if I qualified. I called and emailed several lenders in state, some of whom gave me inaccurate or discouraging information, but then saw Guaranteed Rate on Angie's List and emailed them. Mike promptly called me from out of state (Florida)and was totally encouraging, professional, and knew how to find the proper loan for me, so I could buy the house. I worked with Mike's team and they were incredibly professional and were able to make the closing happen within a month. I honestly believe that had I not worked with Guaranteed Rate and Mike Murgatroy, I wouldn't have been able to buy the house. I felt totally comfortable with them and if I need to re-finance, I will use them again. They were fantastic.

Everything went smoothly. Dealt almost exclusively with Andrew. He was available and informative and was very willing to answer all of my questions at any time. I had a minor concern the night before closing and he was emailing with me until 1:30 in the morning. I appreciated that I was able to head into the closing without any uncertainties.

We got what we want with enough credit to cover all costs. Working with Andrew and his team is such a good experience. Very responsive.

We work with Mike in putting a contract and getting pre approved for a mortgage. He shared his insights on a daily basis. The offer was not accepted and the house we ended up buying we were unable to use Mike due to the type of mortgage the seller requested. Even though we were not able to use him, Mike's door was always open and he answered the questions that the lender I was forced to use couldn't answer. In dealing with the company I am with now, the level of professionalism and care that Mike showed was unparalleled. If you need a mortgage and want honest advise and a friend on your side you can't go wrong with Mike Murgatroy.

From start to finish, the entire transaction with Mike, Rita and their team was phenomenal. No question was left unanswered, and no matter how small or insignificant the questions were (or how many times we called), Mike, Rita and the team were there day and night (literally) to help. Rita even has her office calls forwarded to her cell phone after hours...available to answer questions as they came up with us and our weird teacher/firefighter schedules. They are unbelievably professional, courteous and extremely on top of things. On the first home we purchased two years ago, we went with an extremely reputable regional bank and they seemed okay at the time. However, we had to stay on top of the mortgage broker constantly to make sure things were done and done on time. On closing with said regional bank, all of the costs (including the monthly mortgage payment) increased tremendously. At the time, we thought that was normal. Two years later, we found Mike on Angie's List and learned how wrong we were about the previous lender. Once the standard application was complete and the necessary documents were submitted, they took the ball and ran with it. Mike and his team took care of everything and stayed in constant contact with the realtor involved on the purchase property as well as with the title company and us. The only surprises we encountered at closing were a LOWER mortgage payment than we had anticipated AND LOWER closing costs than we had expected. They saved us a lot of money, but most importantly, they saved us a tremendous amount of time with none of the headaches we had experienced with the previous lender. Never once did we feel like we were just some customers paying for a service with some company...Mike, Rita and the team made us feel like we were part of their families and we just felt lucky to have "family" in the business of doing mortgages. Also to note: the realtor that represented the house we purchased has been in the business for over 20 years and said that she had never before dealt with such an amazing mortgage company and would be recommending them to every buyer she encounters in the future. As will we. With all of the headaches and anxieties involved in buying a home, Mike and has team proved that the last thing you need to worry about is your mortgage company. They take care of everything for you.

We were looking for a mortgage for a new construction home. I found Mike Murgatroy on Angies list and made online application. He was very prompt in sending email responses. He gave us a competitive rate. The only reason we did not get mortgage from him in the end was the builder provide $5000.00 closing cost incentive. We are looking forward to working with him in the future.

As a first time home-buyer the process can be intimidating and frustrating but Mike and his team have been responsive, informative and available at all hours to answer any questions or concerns. Mr. Mike Murgatroy and team did an outstanding job from start to finish with my mortgage refinance. During my initial contact with Mike, he took the time to listen and understand my goal of refinancing my FHA loan to a conventional 30-year fixed with an improved interest rate without mortgage insurance. Mike was straightforward and very clear about my options while suggesting alternate ways to meet my goals if the home value appraisal came in lower than anticipated. After my initial contact with Mike, I was put in the care of his excellent team to help me through the rest of the refinance process. Each step was handled quickly and efficiently, I was never left wondering what stage I was on or what to expect next in the process. The entire process was wrapped up almost to the day that Mike anticipated during our initial contact. I contacted other companies in the beginning but they couldn't beat the offer, great attitude, and level of service that I experienced with Mike and his Team. It went great! Rita was a joy to work with and she really walked me through this whole process. My husband and I are (were!) first time home buyers and really went into the process blind. She offered plenty of advice and guidance. Rita stayed on top of all parties involved in the process and got us in contact with a great Realtor team that helped us find our house. The overall process went very smoothly. Rita answered all of our questions quickly and never acted like I was inconveniencing her. I would use them again in a heart beat.

Mike went way out of his way to help us to get approved for a mortgage. We were under severe time constraints and Mike totally came through for us. If you don't use Mike, you're really missing out on a chance to work with the best.

Mike, Rita, and their team were so wonderful to work with. Our refinance situation was not straight forward since we were inheriting a property. However, they were very patient with us and walked us through each step of the process. They ended up getting us a $1277 refund and we cut the mortgage in half. We had a great experience and are happy to refer them to any of our friends and family!

Mike Murgatroy went way, way, WAY above and beyond the customer service threshold for me. I truly believe that he had my best short- and long- term interests at heart and actually looked out for me, rather than sticking me with something just to close a deal. In fact, when he could have "sold" me on a couple of different mortgage options, he honestly looked at things from my vantage point and encouraged me to hang tight until I improve my financial situation. Even after determining that I was not in the right place to move forward with a refinance with him this year, Mike arranged a conference call with me and my current mortgage holder to ensure that I would not be hit with any surprises (balloon payment or other kinds of adjustments to my mortgage) in the next few years. He really set my mind at ease by doing this. He has earned my trust and, because of my very positive experience, I will definetly reach out to him again once my situation has improved.

I submitted an application in March and received no response from Mike. As a result, I deferred buying a home for another year, thinking that if he couldn't help me, I wouldn't bother trying another broker. Upset by the entire experience, I left a negative review on July 20. Mike contacted me immediately and explained that an unfortunate computer glitch had affected the system at that time, causing some applications to "fall through the cracks" - including mine. After sincerely apologizing, he offered to review my information and make suggestions in order to put me in the best position for obtaining a mortgage next March. I was pleased by his immediate response, willingnes to help, and the sincerity of his apology.

Phenomenal experience from initial contact to closing. Mortgage payment and closing costs were exactly what was disclosed in the first email. Always quick to respond to questions and everything promised was delivered. Overall, just an incredible business to deal with.

I've worked with Pete Doucette since ~2010 on refinancing but most recently the purchase of our home near Charlotte in May 2014. He and his team have made the home buying experience as painless as possible (yes, you still have to sign until your hand feels like it's going to fall off). They always kept me informed of where the loan processing stood and have never been blindsided during the process. Can't say enough about them and can't imagine using anybody else for our future mortgage decisions.

I was surprised to find a refinance option on Angie's list. I started with four of the big advertisers but was soon discouraged either because of sales tactics or incredibly bad reviews. I was a little apprehensive but went with Mike Murgatroy (even though I had never heard of Guaranteed Rate) based on reviews from Angie's list. I was very pleased. Very professional from beginning to end.Things went very smoothly and we closed in about six weeks. As rates declined during the process they were very accommodating in granting a request for a lower rate with no additional fee.

Mike's office, and Andrew Fishman in particular, were excellent in every aspect. I had a difficult financial situation that Wells Fargo was unable to overcome, but Mike's office helped get past it, and we are now in a great home, with a decent loan rate considering our circumstances. Thanks guys!
