I've been extremely impressed with Michael Murgatroy and his team. Mike began securing a loan for me, and it was a pleasure each time I dealt with him. He explained the process to me clearly and was always available to answer any questions I had. My financial situation is not typical, and he took extra time to make sure I would qualify smoothly for a loan. The online application process with Guaranteed Rate was also very impressive. It is the simplest most user friendly web site I have ever used; I loved the layout and appearance of it too.

I have been working with Mike to refinance my mortgage. I started the process last Spring. Unfortunately, a medical emergency arose in my Family and I neglected my side of the refinancing process. Mike was very understanding and, even without my cooperation, kept my application open. He sent me an email every three weeks or so to inquire about my Wife and see if I was ready to proceed. Just last week, I finally gave him the paper work he needed and the refinance was approved before interest rates went up. Mike never stops working. Mike and his team were great to work with. Not only did they have the lowest rates and fees, but the product they were offering (5% down with no PMI) is something that other lenders I talked to would not match. Additionally, the communication throughout the process was very timely, in fact I sent some initial questions to Mike Friday night not expecting to hear back until Monday, but had an email waiting for me when I woke up Saturday morning. This kind of service relieved my slight anxiety in working with Mike based in Florida when I was buying a house in Utah. All in all a great experience, much better than the experience I had working with a local bank on my last purchase. I would definitelywork with Mike should I buy a house in the future.

From first contact, this company was great! Pretty much everything is done online, so there is no hassle in having to set up meetings to pass paperwork, etc. The entire staff was immediately on top of every detail and have a great streamlining process in place to make everything flow easily. I initially looked into other lenders, but there are so many scammers out there (just trying to collect an appraisal fee, and then deny your loan, for example). Lending Tree was absolutely a horrible "service" and I got harassed with bogus offers by phone and email for weeks! Other lenders were not much better. Seriously, I HIGHLY recommend this company and have already referred them to my sister in Massachusetts!!

Michael and team were responsive and professional from the beginning. Even though I ended up remaining with the original lender (we were too far into the process), they helped steer me to a lending option that was much more favorable than the option selected with the original lender. I really appreciate their help, and for my next loan I will be reaching out to Michael and team first.

I initially got pre-qualification letter from one of the Costco affiliated mortgage lender. After reading all of the negative reviews, I decided not to move forward with it. I turned to Angie's list and found Michael Murgatroy Guaranteed Rate which have excellent reviews. Although Michael's fee is a couple hundreds more than Costco affiliated lender after lender's credit, I felt I could trust his team to have my loan closed on time. Michael's team did exactly what he said. My loan was closed on time. There was never any issues or confusions during the process. My calls or emails were answered promptly. Michael's team was trustworthy and sincere. . I made a right decision to choose Michael's team for my loan. I will use his team again for my next loan.

Mike's representative, Patrick, handled our inquiry. He was very polite, professional, and responsive. Within 24 hours of collecting the relevant information, Patrick had gotten back to us by both phone and email with the answer: it would not be worth it for us to refinance at this time. Not every company has the integrity to turn down business just because the customer doesn't really need it. We appreciated the advice and would certainly use Mike for any further needs.

Mike and Team were awesome. After trying to work with a big bank for almost 2 months, I decided to look up online the best and fastest way to get a house refinanced.I came across an article about mortgage brokers and immediately went to Angie's List to find one. With over 350 reviews and an A rating, I contacted Mike and team. I wasn't sure if I could use his services since he was located in Florida and we were in Texas, but after reading some of the reviews that didn't seem to matter. Mike contacted me almost immediately after my inquiry, and within a day or two, had sent an introductory email with all of his team members that we would be working with. Within 3 weeks of first contacting Guaranteed Rate, we were closing on our refi, combining 2 loans and lowering our monthly payment. Success! Everyone on Mike's team was extremely helpful. The process of uploading documents to the website was so simple and being able to do electronic signatures for all the documents was amazing. When the notary showed at our house for the final signing, they brought us a disc copy of all of the documents instead of a stack of paper that we would need to keep indefinitely. I would definitely recommend Mike and Team for refinancing needs.

Even though I did not contract my new mortgage loan from GuaranteedRate - the preferred lender of the builder of my new house had unbeatable terms - Mike Murgatroy was the epitome of professionalism. He was instrumental in guiding my efforts to find the lowest possible interest rate. He also earned my trust by giving me advice about hidden fees and 'surprises' the lender may build into the closing expenses. Mike and his team are really great to work with. I was little skeptical of a lender based in Florida but since it was rated so well on Angie's list I started the process. From the first phone call with Mike, I was reassured of his team's honesty and responsiveness. Let me first start this review by saying this was the smoothest remortgage in my 25 years of owning investment properties. Sooooo.... My cousin and I were looking through Angie's list trying to find a mortgage broker. We did a search and came across Mike Murgatroy. Heaven must have sent me an angel. I called his office and spoke to Mike and explained to him what I was trying to do. Mike gave me information that I never knew being an investor, information a realtor should have explained to me. Mike's office is located in Boca Raton and I reside in Philadelphia. Once Mike explained their process, he then instructed me of the documents needed for the remortgage. Well, being a software developer and paranoid at the same time, I was scared to send my info in a cloud to someone I I didn't know. We're talking tax forms, W2's, bank info etc. I sent the info based on the reviews on Angie's list and prayed...hard! Well Mike and his team (Rita, Connie, Monica and the adjuster ... Can't remember his name) worked hard and fast to get me approved and closed. We started the process August 29th, by October 3rd my loan was closed and funds sent to my account. If I lived in Florida, I would kiss each one personally as they worked effortlessly to get my loan approved in a timely fashion. Short version: Mike Murgatroy and his team made my entire mortgage process seamless and painless. I had a ton of questions and concerns as a first-time home buyer. They were responsive, accessible and helpful throughout and I will recommend them to any/everyone I know in the housing market. Long version: My first conversation with Mike began on the phone with my statement, ?I?ve basically already committed to Navy Federal Credit Union (NFCU)? I don?t want to waste your time.? I had put in a last-minute inquiry based on the Angie?s List reviews the night before. Without pressuring, he inquired about the deal NFCU was giving me and it turns it was kind of embarrassing. I was putting 10% down on a Jumbo loan in New Jersey (>417,000) and didn?t feel I had many options especially in light of my wife (and co-applicant?s) average credit score. I also entered the process skeptical of every lender and figured I would go with something familiar -- NFCU, with whom I do some of my banking. Mike followed up with a detailed e-mail breakdown of Guaranteed Rate?s offer, which was vastly better than NFCU?s (I?m talking a full percentage point). I was pretty dissatisfied with NFCU?s slow pace to begin with so I decided to go with Mike and his team and could not be happier with that decision. Mike and Peter gained my full confidence early in the process. I e-mailed and occasionally called pretty frequently and they were always quick to respond, friendly and importantly, knowledgeable. I didn?t have to send in any documentation via regular mail because their system accepts everything electronically, so I just scanned and uploaded. Very convenient. There were complications, too: Though we really tried to avoid it, my wife had been looking for a while and changed jobs (same industry, salary) during the loan application stage. I thought it might torpedo the deal. Instead, Peter and Mike said it wouldn?t be a problem and we were relieved that it was not. We discussed the timeline in our sales contract and they helped us strategize my wife?s new job starting date. It all worked out. Throughout, my real estate agent did next to nothing. Terrible would be a compliment. My attorney also was not particularly helpful and ignored messages about obtaining title insurance and about the closing. So I shared this with the GR team and came to rely on Peter, Mike, Connie (underwriting) and Monica (closing coordinator) when I had lost all faith that my agent and attorney would take all necessary steps to get the loan closed and home bought. They delivered on everything they said they would and now I?m sitting here on my couch in my new (first) home and couldn?t be happier. Highly recommended.

Mike Murgatroy, Peter Doucette and Team came to my rescue. After a disastrous start with a different lender and 2-3 weeks into that process, I decided to cut my losses and go with Guaranteed Rate whom I found on Angie's List. Right away Mike let me know that it may not be possible to meet the closing date because of the time lapsed, and that he would see what can be done and let me know within a day. I liked that Mike did not fill my head with false expectations, that he was ALWAYS close to his phone and never rushed me off the phone. After receiving the go ahead from Mike I was directed to Guaranteed Rate website that walked me through the process; and I really mean walked me through. I had most of my docs already scanned, and following the user-friendly checklist helped me keep on track. There were times when I had questions and concerns in which Mike and/or Peter Doucette (Business Partner) would respond in a VERY timely manner to address those concerns. The house appraisal was put on a "rush" and expedited to head off that potential problem. Teammates (Connie and Richard) were available to address requirement in their particular specialties. The Seller of the house was asked to postpone the closing by one week but it turned out not to be necessary as the closing took place as originally planned! Mike Murgatroy and Team not only came through for me, but I came to like and respect them for their professionalism, integrity and personable affect.

I first conducted business with Mike Murgatroy and his team at Guaranteed Rate in July of 2013. At that time I saw a window to refinance my home for a 30 year fixed at an awesome interest rate. My point of contacts was Andrew. After a couple of phone calls and a couple of emails, Andrew locked me in at a phenomenal rate. One month later, we closed and it did not cost me a dime! Fast forward two years and I decided to refinance for a 15 year fixed and once again found myself looking for that low interest rate. My initial contact was with the boss, Mike Murgatroy, who turned me over to Andrew, because he knew that Andrew and I worked well together two years prior. I was not surprised to find that Andrew quickly jumped into action, got my contract rolling and in a very short time locked me into the rate I was looking for. As in my previous experience, one of the most important aspects (at least it is for me) of Murgatroy's team is their ability and dedication to answering all of the myriad of questions that always arise when this type of business is being conducted, quickly and accurately. I never waited more than a day and most of the time, my questions were answered within hours and sometimes even minutes. Email worked best but phone calls were easy and encouraged. Communications....A+++. The company advanced technically over the two years since I had dealt with them. This time, the paperwork (we all know there is a ton of it) is completely done online. Guaranteed Rate now has this online tool where you can upload all of your documentation just as quickly as your fingers on the keyboard will allow. There is no snail mail and not even any email when it comes to getting the required documentation to where it needs to go. Paperwork....A+++. Everything I was told/promised was delivered. There were no surprises and as expected, $0 out of pocket. Professional credibility....A+++. The last step in the process is of course the closing. In just about one month's time, I was asked at what time and on what day I would like to close in the comfort of my own home during the following week. The question was posed to me late on Friday and I requested 9:00 AM on the following Monday. Sure enough, my wife and I closed with a young lady from a local reputable notary firm on the requested day and time without a hitch. Closing...A+++.

We needed to do some renovations after some water damage in the basement ended our hope of selling the house. Mike and his team found a lender who would do a refi soon after a house was listed and then helped us get a simply great deal. This was our second go round with Mike's team and it's even better now. Many of the documents can be submitted electronically and the team members are courteous and professional. Of course the bottom line in any refi is a low rate, and low fees. With Mike and his team the rate he found for a jumbo mortgage was much less than other options and we didn't pay any fees. Can't beat that.

Mike and his team go above and beyond in every aspect of the mortgage process. Their online system is fantastic and makes it so much easier to complete the process. Mike and his team should run trainings on being responsive!!! I got answers at night, on weekends, etc. If you are looking for a mortgage provider, I cannot say enough about Mike and his team. Should I ever need another mortgage, I wouldn't consider going anywhere else and neither should you. You won't be disappointed. First, I'm writing this review for everyone out there who has gone through the loss of your home. (My husband and I lost our home in 2011 after years of trying everything possible to keep it.) I was so scared to start looking for a mortgage since my last experience with the industry had been so devastatingly negative. Mike and his team were incredible! Through the entire process, which for me began more than a year before I could even apply for a mortgage, they were incredibly responsive to my calls, patient in their explanations and thoughtful enough to remember my mortgage eligibility date and reach out to me two weeks before to see if I had any new questions or concerns. WOW!! So if you are thinking about getting back into the ownership game, these are the people who can help you. Secondly, to EVERYONE looking for a mortgage, you can't do better than these guys. They have a crazy good on-line system that makes it easy to upload all your supporting documents electronically and keep you updated about what step of the process you've completed. (And I'm the furthest thing from being a techy) I got email replies as early as 6:00am EST and as late at 11:00pm EST. I'm pretty sure these people live at the office! Also, if your friends and family are anything like mine, they will caution you against using a mortgage company that is so far away. DON'T listen to them. I was a little worried about this too, but it quickly became clear I was in good hands. In fact we closed on our new house today and my realtor and the title company both went out of their way to mention how impressed they were with my "out-of-town" mortgage company. If you are considering buying a new home, don't look any further. Simply put....these guys are the best!
