 + -1 moreI started corresponding with GuaranteeRate, by email, on 2/24/16. I asked them to use the information that I had supplied to propose an educated guess on a refinance of my current 1st and 2nd mortgage. They responded within a couple of days with an APR that I determined was acceptable. From that point on everything moved quickly. The determining factor for speed of the process is your own timely responses to their questions and supplying completed forms. I closed on my new mortgage loan on 3/30/2016. The closing was done at my home and at the date and time of my choice. This refinance was the easiest and fastest mortgage process that I have ever experienced.

 + -1 moreMike and his team did a great job. Everyone I worked with was very professional. I shopped around a bit on the title fees that I was quoted -- theirs were less than other places with relatively low fees. The whole process took a little under a month, and was completed online and by phone, aside from signing the final documents and getting an appraisal ? both with the help of local agents that Guaranteed Rate contracted with. There were several times when I had questions ? Patrick Wise and others who I worked with were easy to communicate with by phone and email and responded promptly. They were also proactive about following up and ensuring that I was satisfied. They got me a low rate and even provided tips about how to navigate the mortgage process (in general, not just by working with them). I would highly recommend them.

 + -1 moreI don't say this lightly, but it was the best experience I've ever had getting a mortgage. The professionalism, responsiveness, willingness to help, and true commitment to providing stellar customer service is unmatched, and all too lacking in the brokerage industry. Mike even went out of his way to tell me when new lender credits were available after I had locked so that I could realize them- something most brokers wouldn't have bothered with. I was a little worried with me being in California, and Mike's business being all the way across the country in Florida. But I found that it was very convenient since I could work with them early in the morning California time. I honestly couldn't suggest any improvements in my experience- it was all I asked for and more. I will definitely be back.

MURG was able to take my information and close my refinance in record time. We also had 3 holidays and several weekends but the professionalism of the team allowed me to get my financing quickly.  + -1 moreWhen you first start the process, an interest rate is locked in. Prior to closing, this can be decreased if the market allows. I was given the great news that what I had locked into had dropped so, when I close this coming Monday my interest rate will be lower. Mike and his team are the best. He is available, timely, patient, very interested in educating you to the process. I could not have asked for a better service. In addition, I will add that by using his electronic document program, he does give you a 200.00 dollar credit at closing. This was the last reason I used him. I used him for all the attributes he has demonstrated consistently in many of the reviews that have been submitted on Angie's List. Communicating effectively when going through this kind of process is essential, and Mike is extremely good at this. It did not matter that I was in Fishers IN and he was in Boca Raton Florida.
Description of Work: I needed to refinance my current home. I called and spoke directly to Mike. I explained to him what I needed and while we spoke he was plugging in numbers to see if it could be done. After a brief and informative conversation he felt that I could move forward. Using the online electronic program, I gathered necessary documentation, uploaded to his website. Having your necessary paperwork handy is essential regardless of who you use. Within a day or 2 I was informed we could go through with the loan. When looking at the cost of a loan, there are so many variables that can impact this. If you are shopping around for the lowest interest rate, you need to be aware that one lender may provide a lower rate, but charge a higher fee for any number of items that are built into the loan that you ultimately pay for during the life of the loan. Mike provides a fee structure that actually was much lower than what I had paid for approx 3 years ago when I had done another refinance. The upfront cost of 400.00 dollars was the fee for the appraisal of the home. Once the appraisal was obtained, the documents and appraisal go to the underwriters for final approval. This was all accomplished within approx 3 weeks. I will be closing this coming week. The notary comes to your home at your convenience.

 + -1 moreMike's team was awesome. My loan officer was Peter Doucette, and he worked with Monica Moore and Connie Barnwell to get me through all the required paperwork and to a successful closing. The interest rate was very competitive. Peter estimated closing cost on our very first phone conversation (other wanted me to fill out all the paperwork before offering any estimates. The final costs were very close to that first estimate. My closing had issues (at no fault of Guaranteed Rate) including the contract falling through and then it was re initiated but Peter and team were there for me every step of the way. No pressure, but always made me feel like they had my best interests at heart. Mike himself called after closing to very we had a good experience and to personally thank me for my business. If I need a mortgage in the future, they are the only company I will call.

So, when I came to Angie's List looking for a mortgage provider for a client, Mike Murgatroy's Guaranteed Rate came highly reviewed. I decided to give them a call and I have been extremely satisfied from that phone call onwards. They are very professional and courteous. I recommended the office to a first time homebuyer who was very skeptical of the process. The homebuyer was very pleased (as was I) with the follow up and constant communication from the office. They educated the homebuyer every step of the way up to closing. Although, they are located in a different town, they were able to walk my client through the process with ease. I have sent a number of my clients to this office and I am confident they will help them with the mortgage process.

We logged onto Angie's List and noticed this mortgage provider has over 300 reviews and an excellent rating. I had my wife call their team and they consulted with her. They went over the numbers with her from our current possible mortgage company. The Mike Murgatroy team answered all her questions and advised her to go ahead and use the mortgage provider we had started the process with. That is unheard of. They answered all her questions. Didn't try to wheel and deal her. Just were honest with her. This is how business should be done. Thanks guys

 + -1 moreMike Murgatroy Guaranteed Rate provided professional financial lending brokerage for an investment type property cash out. This service was provided on time and within cost estimates. The "team" is the main contact. Each individual will walk you through the application qualifications, legal requirements, and accompanied mountain of documentation. Guaranteed Rate provides e-digital and a secure website to simplify the entire application to closing process. During our particular application the edigital system failed several times due to human input error. I believe Guaranteed Rate should have a more friendly (old-fashioned) back-up plan. Instead the responsible team member kept on resubmitting the edigital error format.

 + -1 moreThe loan process from beginning to end was amazing. We still cannot believe our results! Throughout the loan process, Mike, Peter, Patrick and team were on top of their game. This loan process had some challenges which Mike dealt with quickly and smoothy. We called the office when we had a question or did not understand the process. Dealing with the VA was not always easy. But every question was addressed promptly by Mike's office and explained clearly. This entire process was transparent and was handled very professionally. We were initially concerned about dealing with an out-of-state lender. We are in California and Mike's office is in Florida. The entire process was handled as if their offices were just down the street. All of the paperwork was online except for the closing paperwork. It was FANTASTIC. We didn't have to kill dozens of trees to get this loan. NICE. Would we go with Mike Murgatroy again? ABSOLUTELY!
