One word: PHENOMENAL!!! From the first phone call to Sarah, the estimate and work with Randy and the guys, to the final pressure wash to make my old roof like new, everything when smoothly! The work provided by this company is beyond exceptional. Sarah and Randy did not hesitate to solve my leaky roof issue nor pressured me to purchase a whole new roof despite the age of my current roof. This company deserves higher than an A++++++ rating as the customer service and product they provide is unparalleled to others ! Thank you guys! I will ALWAYS contact you with any roofing needs!
Description of Work: Before a Licensed Roofing Company came to the rescue, I had 3 roofing companies tell me that I didn't have a leak despite getting rained on at 3am in the bathroom during a storm . Not only did they find the leak , they quickly provided a more than reasonable estimate and offered a quick turn around time despite the plethora of work they had due to the South Florida bipolar weather.

Thankfully we got a second opinion. The contractors in our home said that he was too quick with his assessment. Turns out we DID NOT have a roof leak, nor were the beams in the attic soaking wet, it was a main water pipe bust. Thank God we got a 2nd and 3rd opinion. We would have paid for something that didn't exist. We wanted to patronize a female owned company near our home, but, unfortunately, not by giving away $3400. My husband tried to call the him back to ask if he might have mistaken our home for another persons, but he has yet to pick up the phone. Anyway, such is life. My advice, get a 2nd opinion. UPDATE*** We heard back from the gentleman. He apologized completely. Turns out he had a family emergency and wasn't able to get back to us. He explained to my husband that he was rushed into assessing the job by the contractor we had on site at the time (All South Florida Construction Inc), who was impatient and down right rude. He also explained that if he did see that it was a pipe situation after a full assessment, he would not have told us it was the roof. We appreciate the fact that he took the time to reach out to us. Thank you.
Description of Work: A lovely and kind gentleman came to our house, seemed very knowledgeable and very eager to help us fix our problem. He went to the roof, came down very quickly, called my husband and said the job would cost $3400 and he could start the next day.

had my roof inspected by another company for any mantanence issues early in the week. was made aware of multiple broken tiles throughout the roof from power wash crew over 2 years ago and also poorly repaired leak. called several companies for estimates and that ranged from 52000 for a new roof to 13600 for repair and to seal the roof with special coat. the people at the company were very helpful, the went out and inspected my roof and gave me estimates both for shingle repair as well as the leak repair and the were able to come out the next day and get it done. the were very fast and efficient and explained to me everything they had found and were doing. i was very pleased both with the work and the company and will definitely use them again when needed

Overall, they were creative and innovative in creating an aesthetically pleasing roof by helping to select a dimensional shingle and a wider fascia. They were also able to straighten waves in my roof line caused by several warped trussed from a previous roof leak 20 years ago. Finally they lifted my stucco soffit that separated from the bottom of the trusses that had also fallen due to rusted out wire lathe from roof leaks in the valleys. Moreover, they were easy to work with, the bottom line is Randy and Sarah wanted us to be happy. I found them through a co-worker who used them. I also recommended them to my sister and brother-in-law who were told they need a new roof by another roofer, Randy and Sarah explained the main roof was in good shape and they only needed to replace the flat roof along the back of the house. They even ordered special order boards so it matched the existing boards on the rest of the house...no short cuts.
Description of Work: Removed a 20 year old leaking shingle roof and replaced it with new shingle roof. Repaired warped trusses X10 over front door of home to straighten out rolling roof line, replaced all 6" fascia with 8" fascia, secured fallen stucco soffit that separated from bottom of trusses when wire lathe rusted out due to water leaks in the valley.

They started and finished exactly when they said they would. Right on target with pricing. Cleaned up the yard very well once the job was complete. They even painted the wood and re-mulched my flower bed. I would highly recommend this company.

The job went as scheduled workers were neat, fast and professional at all times. There were no extra charges and Supervision of Work was there at all times. I was in Construction for over 30 yrs. and I never seen a Roofing Company any better than A Licensed Roofing Company. You won't regret hiring them.
Description of Work: Replaced Flat Roof. Removed old roof and all bad wood then installed new roof. They had all permits and copies of License with Insurance. At completion they supplied copies of all paper work with pictures of work performed at all stages. About 1 1/2 yr. ago they did my 17,000 sq. ft. Main House Roof (shingle) and replaced 10 Sheets of Plywood with no extra charge. I would recommend them to my Family & Friends without reservation. Sarah and Randy (Owners of Company.) are people you can trust.

Short Answer: Wonderful experience; I will hire ALRC for my rental properties in the future and recommend them. The Details: My Wife and I started discussing a reroof two years ago after realizing our roof took damage from Hurricane Willma over 8 year ago. Our roof was a low quality, basic, el cheapo three tab asphalt shingle roof that was beyond it's safe protective age. The tiles had lost a aggregate and were brittle. Our insurance deductible after Wilma had risen to half the cost of a new roof and we believed that was an insane rip off. Our decision was to drop our wind storm insurance and buy the BEST roof we could put on before the next big one hit. Although metal roofing makes many claims I have personally seen corrosion problems and did not trust the metal to go a 30 year term in our sea air environment. A traditional cement tile roof with the highest quality undercoating, re-nailing, metal and valley work was our strategy. We got 5 quotes and were ready to pull the trigger. We got quotes from Paul Bange, Pioneer, Earl Johnston, Pacific, and "Yo" Roofing (yes it's named "Yo".) Prices and opinions varied WILDLY. Paul Bange had the most slick sales pitch, the highest price, and would not do the stucco work after the flashing replacement. Bange should sell cars. No company left us impressed and we dropped the ball for two years. A month ago my wife and I were on the project again and had two recommendations. A Licensed Roofing Co. and Tiger Team. ALRC was recommended by our Real Estate Agent Beverly Cole at Southern Cross Real Estate (Another company we recommend). We contacted ALRC's owner Sara and she was great from the start. We never called Tiger Team because ALRC impressed us. Both Sara and Randy came over and IMIDIATELY, they understood our goal: hurricane proof roof for non-insured, non-wealthy, normal, real folks. They accommodated my desire to drop off my new 2 in. Cedar fascia board the week before so I could finish and paint it myself. The big surprise was they gave me a single price for the entire project to be done ALL by them, ALRC. Unlike others they would do the stucco and custom electric attic fan replacement in house. An even BIGGER surprise was even though we were more quality then cost sensitive ALRC's bid was the lowest. I strongly voiced my opinion I did not want this project to drag on. I did not want the underlayment exposed to the elements for a second more then necessary. They gave me real information about each product and above all else: my wife loved them. One thing IMPRESSED my wife and I; while Sara spoke with us, and unknown to us, Randy went on the roof and called the city code inspector. From our roof he discussed all the upgrades we wanted. Before Sara had finished her session with us Randy had already found out that all our upgrades would be ok with the city. Other companies gave us a song and dance; Sara got it done! During the project I was a pain in the rear homeowner and they were very patient with my concerns; even when I put my own ladder up and kept going up to assess the project. Once I texted Sara pictures of concerns I had and minutes later the crew went over and addressed it. Really it was silly stuff but they were patient and responsive. From first phone call to final sign off we were done in less then 10 days. Their clean up was excellent; my pool is 3 feet from my roof and they covered it in plastic and left it nice and clean. I never asked for that, they just did it. I have 3 kids and have been concerned about all the nails that roof work can leave behind: thus far I have found NONE. :)
Description of Work: Complete reroof of the structure with an upgrade from an aged 3 tab shingle to a lovely high profile Entegra Bella concrete tile.

Dealing with the mistakes ALRC made in our roof repairs was upsetting, but mistakes happen in life, and even good companies and good people make mistakes at times. Its how they respond that says a lot about them. What really upsets me are the outright lies contained in Sarah?s response, as it shows there is intention to deceive. READERS ? IF YOU HIRE THIS COMPANY, BE SURE TO INSIST THAT THE CONTRACT YOU SIGN STATES THAT THE COMPANY WILL PROVIDE PICTURES OF THE WORK AS ITS BEING DONE SO YOU HAVE PROOF. OTHERWISE, ALL YOU HAVE IS THER WORD, AND IN OUR OPINION, BASED UPON OUR EXPERIENCE, IT CAN NOT BE TRUSTED. After our experience, it makes me wonder if the positive reviews written about this company are legitimate, as I have recently read numerous articles about how positive reviews can easily be faked by a company. All that is required to post a positive review is a name, address and email, which can easily be faked by a company, and for a very small fee to join the review site, a company can post fake positive reviews and generate new business. However, while positive reviews can be faked by a company, the disputes/negative reviews can?t be faked on Angie?s List, as the company the dispute/negative review is filed against verifies it is written by one of their customers. Granted, there are those people who will never be happy, and there are always 2 sides to every story, but if a company has multiple disputes and bad reviews, I would avoid it, regardless of how many positive reviews there are (other review sites don?t verify anything, so competitors can post negative reviews against other companies, and companies can post positive reviews about themselves, so nothing can be trusted on those sites). Therefore, the only reviews that I know are legitimate for this company are the numerous disputes filed with Angie?s List and with the Better Business Bureau, as ALRC responded to them and verified their legitimacy, although of course they don?t agree with them. Interestingly enough, another complaint on the Better Business Bureau has the same issues we did ? poor work quality/suspicions that work was not performed, and no pictures provided as proof of work being done as verbally promised by ALRC. The facts in our case are straightforward: ALRC repaired a roof leak on 7/13. The very next day, the roof began leaking again just 2 feet away from the initial leak, and major damage to our ceiling occurred a that time. ALRC repaired the newest leak on 7/16 at no charge, slapped some paint over the cracks, stains and holes on the ceiling, and on 7/24, the roof began leaking again in the exact same spot they supposedly repaired. They then stopped responding to my messages about the leak. 1 ? I don?t believe for a minute (and I doubt anyone else will), that ALRC repaired our roof for free out of the goodness of their heart. Businesses exist to make money. You ?repaired? it for free because you knew your prior repair was done improperly. And the fact that it AGAIN STARTING LEAKING LESS THAN A WEEK LATER SPEAKS TO THE QUALTY OF THE WORK YOU DID ?for free.? We had to spend $975 to another roofing company to repair the work ALRC did. As for your FALSE CLAIM that the ceiling stains were ?old,? we have no way to prove they weren?t, as we have no pictures of our ceiling prior to this happening, so its our word against yours, unfortunately for us. Also, you did not maintenance our skylight FOR FREE as you claim. The roofing company we hired after you, to clean up the mess and nightmare you caused us, looked at it and sealed it for us ? and saw no evidence of prior maintenance that you claim you did ?for free.? And how convenient that you ?accidentally deleted? the pictures of the work you CLAIM you did. Is this what you mean by ?taking great care? of us, and ?going the extra mile?? 2 ? You NEVER came out on a Saturday to repair our roof and ?save the day?. You came out to give us an ESTIMATE earlier in the day instead of in the afternoon on a Saturday. I signed the contract with ALRC a few days later once Randy got back to me with an estimate, as I was told by Randy that work could begin 2 days later, and that you would be in touch shortly to schedule the exact time. We were very concerned as rains were predicted and we needed the roof repaired quickly, and we had expected you to ?save the day? (your words) by coming out 2 days after we signed the contract as Randy said you would, but that never happened. You never called and nobody showed 2 days later as discussed with Randy. In fact, I emailed you to say we were cancelling our contract with you and that we were going to use another company since we NEVER HEARD FROM YOU AS PROMISED. You then called me and claimed to have left a message for us scheduling the roof repairs, and they would occur the following morning. I gave you the benefit of the doubt, thinking maybe you left the message at the wrong number, and agreed to have your company come out the next day, which was a weekday, not a Saturday. And it was SIX DAYS AFTER I signed the contract, NOT TWO DAYS as Randy had promised. Is this another example what you mean by ?taking great care? of us, ?going the extra mile, ?and returning our calls and emails ?at all hours??? 3 ? We called you to assess our overall roof condition when we developed an initial leak, and were told the rest of our roof was fine, and the repairs to the leak was all that was required. Had we been told we needed a new roof, we would have done that. Your statement that you told us ?multiple times? that our roof needed to be replaced is an outright lie. You did not even tell us that once, and actually assured us our overall roof was fine (other than the Skylight). 4 ?Why did the roof again start leaking just days later in the SAME SPOT you supposedly repaired? Your bathtub analogy does not explain this. 5 ? You did not take ?great care? of us. As mentioned above, we never received a call from you to schedule our roof repairs as promised, and in fact you didn?t start until a week later, ?not within 1 or 2 days? as Randy promised in order to entice us to sign the contract with you. Then, for the 2nd leak, I called you, you said you were at lunch and would get right back to me and never did. Is this what you mean by ?we would answer your emails, calls and texts no matter how late at night or early in the morning?? as you state in your response below? I finally sent an email days later, and your husband Randy called back saying the kids had been sick with pink-eye. I understood. Now based on all the lies you?ve told in your response, I question that excuse as well. 6 ? We have since found a reputable roofing company to repair our roof, and the work you claim you did ?for free? was a joke, and proven by the fact that the roof began leaking in that same spot 1 week later, and at that time you stopped responding to our messages. No wonder you ?accidentally deleted? the pictures you promised to provide (I have this an email from Randy promising pictures ? my bad for not having it in the actual contract). Is this what you mean by ?going the extra mile for your customers?? 7 ? In your P.S., you state ?No one has ?claimed that you are trying to take advantage of this company,? as you stated in your complaint above... That is YOUR own GUILTY CONSCIENCE!? I invite the readers to go to the reviews on Google for this company, where we also posted a review, and see your company?s response, where it states exactly: ?This homeowner is trying to take advantage of my small business and we just won't stand for it! ??.Mr. Randy Harris A LICENSED ROOFING COMPANY.? And I have taken a screen shot of that webpage with ALRC?s response, and will post it for all to see if you go back and revise your original comments to take out that statement. 8 ? I could be wrong, but the way we were treated by this company, combined with how many outright lies are contained in their response, I strongly suspect some of the positive reviews are not legitimate. And as you stated, Sarah, I leave this to a jury of my peers. You should be ashamed of the way you treated us, then lied repeatedly to cover your actions. I can only hope Karma plays a role in this. UPDATE: 9/1/15 After major downpours from the remnants of tropical storm Erika, our roof remains LEAK FREE, which is further proof of Sarah's lies. ALRC never told us we needed a new roof, because we don't (I also confirmed with 2 other roofing companies that we do not need a new roof). You are just trying to say we need a new roof to try to excuse your horrible and defective "repairs." And not standing behind the warranty is reprehensible. Enjoy living your life this way.
Description of Work: Repaired a leak in our entryway. The true nature of a company can be determined as to how they respond and treat a customer when that company makes a mistake. ALRC showed us what an unethical and irresponsible company they are when a repair they performed improperly caused additional leaks, which caused water damage, cracks, parts of the popcorn ceiling to fall down, and a 4 inch slope to the ceiling. While they repaired the roof to fix the new leaks at no charge, they refuse to repair or reimburse us for the damage their mistake caused to our ceiling. We initially hired ALRC in May 2015 as we had a leak in our dining room area. They assessed our roof and said our overall roof was fine and made the necessary repairs to fix the leak. Two months later, a leak in our entryway developed. I called another roofing company to assess it and get an estimate, and was told that previous work had already been done to that area, and it should be under warranty, and to call the company that did the initial repair. We have lived in the home for only 2 years, and ALRC was the only roofing company that has ever worked on our roof. I called Randy at ALRC, and was told they had never repaired that area of our roof, so the warranty from the initial repair done in May did not apply. I believe this is true, and I must assume that the previous owner had repairs done to that area, and that was what the other roofing company must have been referring to. So we again hired ALRC to repair the leak in the entryway. Randy himself came over to assess our roof and the leak in the entryway, and we were again told the rest of our roof was fine, with the exception of a skylight that eventually would need to be replaced, and that he would repair the leak in the entryway. The day after ALRC repaired the leak in the entryway, it rained, and multiple areas in our office began leaking. This area was right off the entryway that had just been repaired the day before, and was just 2-3 feet away from the entryway leak. I again called Randy, and ALRC came the next day and repaired the new leaks to the roof at no charge. However, as a result of the new leaks, the ceiling had incurred major water damage including water stains, cracks, popcorn ceiling fallen off, and the ceiling was now sloping down by 4 inches. When I questioned Randy about this, he said they would put a coat of paint on the ceiling to cover the water stains. I explained about the additional damage and he stated to me ”…the drywall is old and had cracks before any stains occurred from any leaks. We believe it was constructed improperly as your entire homes drywall shows the same defects. All of the rooms in your entire home have drywall flaws and cracks along with missing popcorn etc. etc. The cracks and the popcorn removal in the room you are speaking of was not due to any roof leaks at all.” This is COMPLETELY UNTRUE as the only “defects” our ceiling had was from water damage from the initial leak in the dining room, and a small area of missing popcorn in the entryway from the second water leak. I understand that ALRC is not responsible for repairing the ceiling from the initial 2 water leaks (dining room and entry way), as they did not cause that damage. However, the ceiling in the office was flawless until the leaks occurred as a result of the faulty repair done by ALRC to the entryway leak, and ALRC is now denying any responsibility for this. In addition, ALRC promises to provide pictures of all work being done. I emailed Randy a week after the repairs were done as I had not received the warranty information, pictures of repairs, or proof of payment. He never responded. I again emailed him on 7/24/15, and he responded “ The warranty is written on the proposal please keep that for your records. The photos have been erased off of my camera by accident. Thank you for your inquiry. Have a great day.” They conveniently lost the pictures they promised to show repairs as they were being done, and are denying responsibility for the damage caused. I want ALRC to reimburse us for the damage that needs to be repaired to the ceiling in the office.

Response from A Licensed Roofing Co
Imagine a bathtub..... If you plug the drain, the tub will fill. If there is another drain 2-3 feet away, will the water not enter into the second drain? First of all, I would like to clarify that A Licensed Roofing Company never informed you that your roof was "fine," as you stated numerous times in your multiple complaints and reviews online. Your roof is defective and it leaks. You initially called us because your roof was defective and it leaked. Your roof is still defective and it will probably continue to leak. As we told you numerous times, your roof is defective and must be replaced. Did we not maintenance the defective skylight (at No charge), as you could not afford to replace it... Did we not repair a second leak a few feet away and spend 8 additional man hours during that visit (at NO charge) .... Did we not paint the water stains on your ceilings before we left! (again, at no charge) Wow! What terrible service!?! Unbelievable,... right? Here is the math: $900 - $250 in fuel and material, divided by the 32 man hours. You paid about $20/man/hour to complete emergency roof repairs. (about Half of what it costs me, and of coarse without any profit....I mean, why should your roofing contractor make any profit?) .... We did NOT complete these courtesy repairs out of guilt or responsibility. As Verified by our Hundreds of REAL REVIEWS online, we truly do go that extra mile for our customers because we view those courtesies as investments towards securing your roof replacement, referrals and ultimately more business! Your ceiling (your very poorly constructed ceiling) does suffer from water damage, but it was NOT due to any faulty workmanship, but rather YOUR FAULTY ROOF. All the review readers out there who have ever had a roof leak know what a "fresh" water stain looks like.... Your water stains were "far from fresh." Your negligence as the homeowner is the sole reason for the Dark Brown water stains that existed in your home that you claim "showed up over night." (BTW: If you recall, we painted them for free.) When you requested for us to replace the damaged ceiling, (and fan) from YOUR ROOF LEAK that WE FIXED FOR FREE...we found ourselves in a position whereby we thought it best to excuse ourselves from your roof replacement bidding. We understand that it could be compared to being "dumped" and it made you upset.... but to claim we are responsible for anything other than being the Best contractors you have ever had or will ever have the pleasure of dealing with is preposterous! We provided you with nothing but stellar service and workmanship, only to have you request for us to pay for responsibilities that are clearly your own. (AND give you a full refund... because that makes sense, right?.... or Not!.....) I am sorry that you blame us for your roof leaks and defective roofing system. I am sorry that I will not be completing your required roof replacement. BUT... I do not agree with your request for a full refund or to reimburse you to replace your ceiling and fan.... Though comparably the cost to pay you off and have this complaint removed is substantially less than the negative impact your complaints will cost me, I am a firm believer in justice, and I represent my company and all my employees who worked so hard to take such great care of you. Remember how we saved the day with the emergency leak on Saturday before you were going out of town? Remember that you had our cell phone numbers and how we would answer your emails, calls and texts no matter how late at night or early in the morning? Remember that you were the party who forced us to excuse ourselves as your roofing contractor.... Remember.... if you fill a tub and plug one drain, another drain 2-3 feet away will leak.... I leave this in the hands of a jury of my peers. P.S. No one has "claimed that you are trying to take advantage of this company," as you stated in your complaint above... That is YOUR own GUILTY CONSCIENCE! Sincerely, Sarah Harris Director of Operations A Licensed Roofing Company Proudly Woman Owned and Operated

I dreaded getting my roof resurfaced, but Randy and Sarah were professional, friendly, and easy to work with. They communicated with us every step of the way, and worked with my office staff to cause minimal disruption. The completed project looked outstanding. They stand behind their work and I am pleased to have a new roofing company that I can work with in the future.

This was done two years ago, and it's guaranteed for five years. But I told them it looks terrible; it's peeling. So they looked at it and said that it needs a patch. They came up a month ago and once they verified they needed the work done, I never heard from them again. They don't answer calls or return messages. We paid a total of 7,200 for the two buildings to have them coated. It is important to note that if you believe that ALRC should have treated for ponding problems when they first started working for you, you may speak to their lawyers.

Response from A Licensed Roofing Co
One of the twelve buildings maintained by A Licensed Roofing Company suffered from product failure due to severe ponding water and inadequate drainage. The product defect has been corrected/rectified and the warranty work has been completed at no charge to the customer. Further corrective maintenance, not related to the work already completed by A Licensed Roofing Company, is required and has been proposed to the customer, which will help prevent future roof leaks and/or product failures.

Sarah and Randy Harris were so good in going above and beyond to make this roofing project go as smoothly as possible. When I realized the HOA meeting was within 2 days of signing the contract to do the job Sarah kicked it in to high gear and I met her at the tile company to pick out roof tile. She and Randy then met me at the HOA meeting to answer any questions the board might have to get approval for the tile I had picked. Once approval was secured they went to work and the entire job was done in a timely manner with so many extras that made this a complete job. (Painting new wood, supplying paperwork and applying for insurance mitigration discount. Clean up was never an issue and the final piece of the puzzle was received today, 6/9/2015, the 30 year warranty paperwork.) I didn't think companies with this kind of customer service existed anymore. Sarah and Randy Harris proved me wrong!

I hardly ever write these reviews, but I was compelled to in this case. A Licensed Roofing Company was one of the best companies I have ever used. They were extremely professional, highly competent and completed the job in less time than estimated. Let me give you a real example on how awesome this company is. It?s summer in South Florida when I had the new roof installed. When they removed the old roof they had to wait for the inspection to begin the installation. It was a holiday weekend so we would have to wait from Friday until Tuesday for the inspector. Our inside temp was almost 90 degrees and the AC was running non-stop to try to cool the place. I did not think it would last three days. I called owner Sarah Harris on Friday afternoon telling her we were dying from the heat. She answered her cell at lunch (yes, she gives you her cell in case you need anything). She said she would ask the Chief Inspector to make an exception and allow them to continue the work so we could be cool. He agreed and her roofers were able to continue working during the weekend. Another example of how great they are is their cleanup. Every day they would clean all the debris from around the home. Because they knew we had dogs they were especially careful about picking up nails and other sharp items. During the job they called every day just to make sure everything is okay and to update you on their progress. I can?t say enough about Sarah Harris and this company. Don?t even consider using anyone else. I own 8 homes and I have worked with numerous contractors, including roofers. They are no comparison to A Licensed Roofing Company. Not even close. Just a note, this is a woman-owned roofing company. There is a difference! This woman is competing in a business that is completely dominated by men. To do this, she has to be the best to stand out and she is. She is the GI Jane in the roofing world! In conclusion, my roof by far is the nicest one in the neighborhood. Their work and everything about them is just outstanding.

As the workers got into the job, the eave wood could not be replaced as desired as it was incorperated into the roof and would create more leaks. the areas that did need repair were much larger than they thought at first. Sarah kept in touch with me and did not increase the estimate price due to the additional work involved. She called me to inform me the job was completed. When I inspected the work, I found they had not done an area as discussed. I called Sarah and advised her. She had the crew back out that same day to complete the necessary work to my satisfaction. Again she called to confirm my satisfaction with the job. I have already recommended them to others and will continue to do so. Very professional and will most probably look them up when I am ready for a new roof.
Description of Work: I had called 3 roofers for work estimates, Sarah at A Licensed Roofing was the only one to return my call. She called me daily until my schedule and theirs coincided for them to come out. Sara and Randy cme out at the appointed time and had identified the problems before coming to my door and verified the issues with me. They inspected my roof and told me i could just go ahead with a repair and would not need a new roof for a few years. I went over with them the work I wanted and we agreed on a price. I even received my Angies List discount.

.Roof inspection went fine. When they left, I was told the damage to the tiles was only cosmetic and there were no leaks. The seller, her realtor and I were all present when we received their verbal final analysis. No approximate cost for repairs was given at the time of inspection. I was told I would get a written report within a couple of days. I called after almost two weeks went by as I was nearing the closing of the house and wanted to get a quote for repairs so the seller could pay for that at closing. To be fair, there had been a death in their family but business is business and life must go on. When I finally did get a quote for repairs, it was $700 for sealing the cracked tiles with roof tile adhesive or $1500 to remove and replace the broken tiles. Too late to ask the seller for this repair money. I found another roofer who used adhesive to seal the cracked tiles. This person also said the damage was just cosmetic. This second vendor sealed the cracked tiles for a huge fraction of what A Licensed Roofer wanted to charge. Buyer beware.

I chose this company based on Angie's Lists reviews and felt comfortable after the owners Sarah and Randy made their presentation in our home . We were assured by their foreman initially that he would be there personally to supervise the job and that never happened. I am now having issues with the proof of the actual repairs at this time as they haven't provided us with a complete set of pictures . The work that I saw done with the removal of the skylights and vent and re-roofing was done very well as I saw this myself and pictures do back this up. However, there are no pictures for the repairs to a valley area were the actual leak was and the primary reason for hiring them in the first place. We have mold down the interior wall in that area. Other than removing the tiles in the valley and laying an underlayment. So that there is no actual proof - pictures...that the underlayment there was lifted and plywood was inspected or replaced at the area of leak. The owners are very nice and professional and very responsive and timely, but they haven't been able to actually prove that this work was done completely as to our contractual agreement ...So I'm left with just their word. Further there was no oversight of the job, I can not at this time honestly recommend them. Having written them on my concerns at this point feel that barring any last minute real proof that the whole job was done correctly would advise anyone to be very careful and if you are going to use them make sure you're there on the roof to get what you paid for. I am hoping that I'm totally wrong but so far the response to my concerns have been "We did it, it's good , that's it ,and don't worry about it". Because of the mold issue and health concerns to the interior of our home and a strong suspicion that short cuts were made in order finish the job and get our money. It's sad but we are consulting with our attorney for possible course of action . It's just disturbing that you feel you could trust someone with your home, they tell you to your face trust us we are a small family business and want to grow through referrals and then this. We are in our 60's, the world is different, is it generational? But what ever happened to truth, character, hard work and honesty today? Be forewarned.......Don't trust anything they say they did because factually they failed to provide proof that the work was done. Yes ,they will lie and say they did it when in fact the opposite is true.

Fact: neglecting to complete timely roof repairs caused interior damage to the home. Fact: we were contracted to repair an active roof leak. Fact: the roof leak has been repaired as per our contract and is not leaking. Fact: our stellar work and outstanding customer service earned us your A+ Angie's list review which was nominated for the page of happiness. Fact: the homeowner was physically on the rooftop throughout the two day project and watched the entire process alongside our foreman, who supervised every step of the work order from commencement to completion. Fact: you stated your complete satisfaction both during the process, and four weeks thereafter, including the A+ written review. Fact: you have retracted your A+ review and replaced it with F's and want your money back. Your complaint is unfounded and unappreciated. Fact: your roof is still not leaking, and the quality work that we consistently provide has not changed either.

I hired A Licensed Roofing Company to do a tile reroof to my 20 year home. My roof had quite a few repairs the last few years, and it was getting out of hand, so I figured I might as well bite the bullet and just get a new roof. I interviewed about 4 roofers (all rated highly from Angie's List) and price wise they were all about the same, the difference came to the type of roof underlayment work they did and the warranty. One roofer came back with only a 5 year warranty, seriously, for a $16k re roof? Sarah and her husband Randy gave me a 30 year warranty and from the get go assured me that "I would be taken care of". They seemed like good, honest people so my gut told me to go with them. From the beginning all the way to the end it truly was "all taken care of". Sarah handled my homeowners association and permits before hand, nothing for me to do there which was great! She kept me up to date each day on the progress and I got pictures of all the work before, during and upon completion. I was really concerned with the valley work as I had quite a few leaks there so she made it a point to take plenty of pictures of that area. I never thought I would say this, but it was all actually quite exciting, getting real time updates and coming home each day to see something new. I couldn't be happier with my new roof, they did an excellent job, and I can certainly see why other reviewers have rated them so well. ALL home repairs should go like this. Honesty, professionalism, and delivery of what was promised. And as I type this review it's pouring outside and I have this warm, fuzzy feeling that my leaks are all gone and I can rest soundly tonight knowing that my roof not only looks great but is going to last a long, long time. Thank you Sarah and Randy for all of your help and going above and beyond my expectations! Wish I could clone you too and keep you around! :)

I found A Licensed Roofing Company online, but not on Angie's List because I wasn't a member at the time. I was looking to buy a house I'd been renting for the past two years and in that time there had been several leaks in the roof, all in the same place. I had heard from past tenants that there had been serious leaks in the past so I wanted a company that would give me an honest assessment, with photos of what we were dealing with in regards to the roof, so I could use that as a negotiating tool. Their team came out and explained what they found to me in clear terms and had the pictures to prove the condition of the roof. I was able to buy the home and set out to replace the roof immediately based on that inspection, and since I was so impressed with Randy, Sarah and the work crew at A Licensed Roofing Company, I was leaning toward hiring them, but shopped around just in case. I was unable to find any other company that was as prompt at returning calls, as patient at answering all of my questions, and as enthusiastic about getting the job. When I met with Randy and Sarah at their office I was impressed with their knowledge of the permitting process, their professionalism and the way they described attention to details, and working with HOAs to ensure that everyone was happy. After picking out the tile and getting HOA approval, I was surprised that A Licensed Roofing Company was ready to get started almost immediately. That was great for me, because I really wanted to get the roof on before the heavy spring rains. I was hoping for end of February, beginning of March to get started, but they were ready to start February 16th. I expected a dumpster in the driveway and not being able to park there for a week or more, and I expected the usual mess with a job that size, but the first day when I came home from work I found no dumpster, and all the tile gone and everything dried-in after only one day! I do have a small house, but I was really surprised at how much they got done in a day. It rained like crazy that night but I was assured that everything was drier up there than it had been in 27 years. I received text messaged and even pictures of the work progress throughout the day, and text messages or phone calls from Sarah to let me know what was accomplished, and what was coming up next, so there was never any doubt of what was going on. Communication on all fronts was absolutely awesome. Every day when I got home the driveway and all around the house was clean and there was hardly any evidence that the workers had been there. I got a chance to speak with some of the roofers, some of whom had been present for the original inspection on the roof, and they have me the truth about what they found, and none of it was a surprise, because I expected that it was going to be a rescue mission on the roof as much as a repair and restoration. The whole process was totally painless, and actually fun to watch the progress as the week went on. The final inspection was yesterday, and Randy and Sarah were out today up on the roof inspecting everything themselves. They pointed out the detail work that they did to blend the corners and smooth out the edges and they are even coming back tomorrow to do a final detailing and spot clean up of little things that only they noticed. The price they quoted was fair, they got the permits quickly (even from the City of Weston, who I was told by the HOA could take 3 weeks or more) and they were in and out and done before I even knew it. I highly recommend A Licensed Roofing Company to anyone with a big job or a little one like mine. I have never had to replace a roof before and this was a daunting process for me, but I had full confidence in their expertise and I am thrilled with the result. My house now has a roof that makes the home look neat and classy. The neighbors even complimented on not only the end result, but how neat everything was in its various stages of completion. If you want your roof done right and you want a painless, actually enjoyable experience in replacing the roof, then A Licensed Roofing Company is the one for you. It was a pleasure working with Randy, Sarah and the crew. A+++++++ Sincerely, Julie-ann Nydegger, (happy, dry, new homeowner)

Great, both amazing people to work with. They are on top of everything and we even felt comfortable having them do the work when we were traveling over the holidays. The emailed us a quote (actually more than 1) quickly and were able to begin the work almost immediately. Since the work has been completed, I have already received the inspection report and have forwarded it over to our insurance agent : ) So happy to meet such honest hard working people who aren't looking to take advantage of new home buyers!

We were selling our home and our home was inspected by the buyer's and the inspector failed the roof because of its age. It was a S-tile roof installed in 1990, the laws had changed in 1993 because of hurricane Andrew. I had gotten two estimates and wasn't impressed because nobody could tell me exactly how much it would cost. Well we couldn't make a agreement with the buyer's and put the house back on the market with a roof credit. That was a mistake, now hour house was viewed as a house with a leaking roof and that wasn't the case, it was just considered old and wouldn't pass the new inspections insurance and finance companies require. A few weeks had passed and we had no interest in our home. My wife had suggested a roofing company she found online. I called and spoke with Sarah from A Licensed Roofing Company. We made a appointment for a estimate and we were impressed that we finally had a exact number of the replacement cost. A Licensed Roofing was including all wood that maybe needed and the other companies were vague about the cost of wood. We signed a contract, changed the MLS listing and right away we had interest in our home. Sarah and Randy had our roof completed in 3 weeks in the middle of rainy season, and worked with the new buyer's as far as color and warranty registration. Throughout this process we learned a lot about home selling and roofing. Sarah, Randy and their team made it much less stressful on us and got the job done quickly. The sale went through and we moved into our new home in Orlando. If you have a roofing issue, call A Licensed Roofing for a honest andthrough opinion on how to repair any issue you may have.

After some recent heavy rains, we discovered several leaks in our roof (spots in the ceiling) and were very concerned about the severity. We're the original owners (19+ years) and several of our neighbors have already had their roofs replaced, so we were preparing for the worst.............being told that we needed a new roof. Having little to no knowledge about roofing, you're sort of at the mercy of the contractors giving you an honest assessment/estimate. I used Angie's list to identify several contractors to inspect and give us an assessment of the damage and an estimated cost to repair or replace the roof. A Licensed Roofing Company was high on our list because they had an "A" good rating on Angie's List and relatively good reviews. So I put a request in via Angie's list for a quote from three companies. Sarah (the president) contacted me the next day and advised that she could be there in the afternoon to take a look. She contacted me several times to confirm the appointment and provided me with an approximate arrival time down to the minute. I was very pleasantly surprised since many companies give you a 2-4 hr. window of when to expect them. One company told me they would be by at some point, not sure when but I didn't need to be there, but afterwards they would contact me to discuss the findings I didn't like that at all, so I was very pleased to know that Sarah wanted to meet me there and gave me a specific appointment time. She & Randy were there right on time. Within the first 5 minutes of meeting them, I knew I'd found the right company. The first thing they said when they drove up was "Your roof is in good shape" you don't need a new one right now. They had already prepared an estimate for a replacement based on the age of the home and other roofs they'd seen in the area, but again, not once did I feel that they were going to try to paint a picture of doom and gloom because of the age of the home. I knew at that point that they were trustworthy. They identified the problem areas explained in detail what would be done to address them and at what cost. They took their time to educate us on what had changed in the roofing practices since our home was built. They made sure we understood they would make a lasting repair, not a Band-Aid. They would strip everything done to the wood and replace all the bad wood and fascia in those areas and install the best underlayment being used today. They also offered to do maintenance on the entire roof to secure any loose or cracked tiles and re-mud the ridge tiles to make sure everything was tight when they got done. They provided me with a detailed plan and estimate. The cost for what they were going to do seemed reasonable to me. It wasn't cheap, but I knew that when they finished I would have any problems in those areas again. They were the first contractor to come out, and the only one because we cancelled the others. There was no need to look any further. We signed the agreement and paid 50% down. Sarah contacted me the following week and gave me a date when her crew would be coming out. She called the morning of and gave me a specific time. She called to advise me they were on the way. She called when they were around the corner, when they were in front of the house. It was GPS like. Again, they arrived within 10 minutes of the time promised. The foreman John introduced himself and confirmed with me what was going to be done per the instructions they'd been given. He was very professional and efficient and explained how they would work the job, one area at a time. There was a good chance of rain that day so they wanted to get right to work to get as much done as possible. It was going to be a full day's work. Well, as they began to remove the tiles and bad wood in the first area, which was the worst one, I could tell that the damage was worse than initially thought. The area had a significant amount of bad wood, much more than what was estimated. John got on the phone to Randy and Sarah. They came out to look at it and they informed me of the "bad" news.......... the roof is worse than it looks. They showed me the proof, rotten wood, brittle underlayment, so I was preparing for the worst. More money. But again, to my surprised they stuck to their estimate to make the repairs at the cost quoted. No change orders, no excuses that they had to use more wood and do a larger area than initially quoted, they stuck to their quote and made the repairs. They just wanted me to know that there wasn't as much life left in the roof as they initially thought and that we should prepare to replace it sooner rather than later. They completed the initial three problems areas, and a fourth one I asked them to add later. The job took them 1 & 1/2 days. They did everything they promised to do. Exceeding my expectations by painting the new fascia they installed.......who does that these days? They next day after they completed the work, I called Sarah to tell her about another piece of rotten fascia that I felt should've been replaced, but it wasn't. Again, no hesitation, no complaining, no blaming me for not pointing it out before they left. She just said, hey, we'll be out there to take care of it. And take care of it they did; at no additional cost. Listen my dear Angie's list brothers and sisters, if you're looking for a roofer that's honest, fair, competent, customer friendly, cost competitive and one that has INTEGRITY, look no further than "A Licensed Roofing Company" to handle your roof repair or replacement. Save yourself some time, energy and aggravation and let Sarah and Randy show you what quality and service is all about. When the time does come to have our roof replaced (a $32,000 job) we already know who we're going with, A Licensed Roofing Company. In case you you're wondering........... no, we're not related to them, but when they finish with your job, you will feel like family. God Bless!
