Expert! Highly recommend. Wanted to get tuning done before a NYE party. He fit me into his schedule as a favor. Steinway needed further minor adjustments that would take some time. However, when he heard I was likely relocating again in near future, he told me to wait so I don't waste my money!

Tuned my baby grand piano and eliminated the annoying squeak from one of the pedals. Elian first serviced my piano when I first moved to S Florida after it was in cool storage for 1.5 months and endured the move in a hot moving van for several days. At that time the piano really needed some tuning and Elian did a great job. He didn't have what was needed at the time to address the pedal issue so we planned to address with the 6 month service call. So now no more squeaky pedal and piano sounds great. Thanks Elian!

Mr. Degen showed up at the time scheduled. He worked for approximately two hours on the piano. This was my late wife's piano and had not really been played in over eight years. I was able to find someone to give it to and arranged to have it moved to her house and then arranged for Mr. Degen to tune the piano. He is a very friendly and very knowledgeable man. He really ended up tuning it twice though only charged for one tuning. It was fascinating to watch him at work and also to talk to him. The piano sounds wonderful now. I would recommend him to anyone. His world experience makes him a very interesting person to talk to. He is a consummate professional.

Responded very fast to my initial inquiry and showed up right on time for the appointment. Did his job professionally and competently, explaining along the way how piano tuning works and the kind of service schedule we should adopt to keep it the piano in shape. Will use him again.

The tuner was very professional, but could not complete the job, because of the state of the piano. The piano is an old church piano and needs to be replaced before it is tuned. I am sure that he will do a good job in the future.

Tuned my old, upright piano. He was very professional and did a great job. He was very honest, and provided information about the status of the piano. |However, he and I both agreed that we did not like the new Angie's list method for contacting vendors from whom we had purchased deals.

He came in to check the piano and he broke one of the cord of my piano. He said that there's nothing he can do now and I have to wait for a person to replace the broken cord. He gave me another guy to fix it and it cost me 180$ to change the cord. The guy told me that I don't need to change the cord because it was still okay. He also told me that don't need to call any person to tune it up because it will only break the cord. At the end of the day, it cost me 180$ and he left the piano as it was.

Mr. Degen spent about an hour and a half on the piano and restored all the keys to their correct pitch.

He uses a portable tuner piece of equipment that I thought was cool to tune the piano.

Mr. Degen's first visit turned out to be advisory, as the piano had not been tuned in over ten years. Hammer recovery was not responsive, diagnosed as due to humidity. I was advised to turn on the piano heater, which was done, and scheduled another appointment to see if the heater would 'ease' the action enough to tune it properly. A week later, Mr. Degen found the piano to be improved enough to tune it. The heater had done its job. This tuning was performed, after lubricating the hammer pivot pins. The tuning was performed to 1/4 tone low, and is expected to be brought up to pitch after six months of play. This plan for a two-step tuning is due to it being an old Victorian era piano, with tunings few & far between. I agree with this plan, with personal experience and from other sources. It is a cautious and safe action for this instrument, not a means to garner additional revenue. Mr. Degen is very professional, free with information, punctual and polite. An interesting individual, aside. I recommend him highly.

Very pleased with service provided. Mr. Degen was very responsive and went out of his way to schedule the service at a convenient time for us. Also, extremely knowledgeable and professional. Would definitely use him again and refer him to others for their piano needs.

It went very well and he arrived on time. The $90 was only for a standard tuning. Our piano has been without proper tuning for many years so he quoted a different price to do a more careful tuning because of the situation of our piano. I agreed on that and it was done on the spot. I would use them again but I hope not in the very near future because that would indicate that something was wrong. I would recommend him and I would repeat the use of his services sometime in the future.

He was prompt. Came to our home earlier than we thought. During our original contact he was going to come about a week later but became available and we mutually agreed to move to an earlier date. Took his time in tuning the piano. The piano sounds better than ever. We recommended him to two other customers and they are very glad we did. We marked our calendar to call him in six months.

Spent 1 hour total, tuning my piano and repairing my piano bench. He showed up on time and was very nice.

He arrived punctually and was very professional as well as personable. He has a great deal of experience with professional musicians, and has many interesting stories to tell.

The gentleman arrived a little earlier than the appointment and since the piano was right inside the front door, he proceeded to sit down and start to work - leaving the front door standing wide open. I kept waiting for him to close the door since the air conditioning was on, but eventually I had to go close the door. He wasn't the least bit gentle and even asked me for a hammer. While he was "tuning" there were horrible banging sounds coming from the piano and when I looked out, I saw he was using a pair of plyers to pull up the black keys - but why I don't know since none of them were STUCK before he got here. When he left, I attempted to play the piano and realized he obviously is not a very good piano tuner! The piano is not in tune, the keys are not the same touch as before and the pedals no longer function/ operate. It it no longer a pleasure to play this piano. I had no idea what he was doing with all the banging and loud sounds, but my piano will never be the same. In his defense, this is an older piano but it has been kept in pretty great condition until he touched it. I would not recommend nor ever use this man again.

The owner was extremely easy to work with and a true gentleman. I hardly recognize the sound as our piano, and although he suggested more in depth work by another company, I am very pleased with the quality of the tuning.

He called first, came early, punctually. Very professional, someone you can trust, knows his tuning. He did a wonderful job, including talking about my piano quality, other pianos as well. I will definitely use his services again and recommend him to neighbors. The fact that he came on a holiday, Labor Day, was wonderful, and saved me from taking time off of work.

Elian Degen did a GREAT job! We found him thru Angie's list's Big Deals and received a $90 rate for a normally $150 rate. Mr. Degan called back promptly after we signed up and set the appointment. He arrived about 30 minutes early and spent 1 1/2 hours plus tuning the piano. He was honest and told me that based on our usage (I play a couple days a week) that we did not need to re tune for 12 -18 months or so based upon what we heard from the sound and needed. He was thorough, professional and a pleasure to work with.
