Description of Work: Mike was the first person to respond to my need for someone to replace my front porch floor. The floor was in dangerous condition from termite damage,I was afraid someone would get hurt if it wasn't repaired or replaced right away. I contacted 3 people from Angie's List, one said he would try to get there mid week but wouldn't be able to start the work for 3-4 weeks. Another person failed to call me back. I then went to recommendations from friends. Mike's price was the best, the job was started 2 days after I received the estimate and finished 2 days after that. Mike even came out over the Memorial day weekend to look at the job so he could start working on the estimate. I feel confidant that the work his company did will last for many many years. The tongue and groove flooring was primed on all sides before installation, aluminum sheeting was put down where there was contact with the brick steps and everything was caulked to prevent moisture from getting to the wood (good meal source for termites). I will use Designing Renovations again for other work around the house.

Description of Work: We needed repair to the bandboard and a new deck. Mike quoted $3500 for labor (5 day job) and said we would then pay for the cost of material (don't know what that would have been). He was more concerned than we were about matching our siding that would need replacement (a few pieces). He seemed to be a perfectionist and we believe that he would have done wonderful work. But he was booked for 2 months and also wanted to jack up our house (we preferred not to have that done). So we went with someone else, but would have hired him otherwise. We would gladly hire him in the future.
