The only downside was i had to find a way to dispose of items he removed oh and to mention he cleaned up afterwards.

+ 2 moreMike was great- easy to schedule, fitted me in on a weekend since he was already busy all week. Got all the jobs I had done rapidly and well but one dimmer brand replacement (purchased by myself) did not help the issue. My ceiling fan has not run so smoothly in decades and the railing is really solid now after he tweaked the holder. He returned another day to replace the dimmer again with yet another brand (also purchased by myself) but the issue is probably in the circuit not in the dimmers. He gave me the name of an electrician to call. I really appreciate his good nature and willingness to do what he could do try to solve the dimmer issues. He seems to be really good at figuring out solutions. Thanks Mike!

Description of Work: They took 2 days to repair the top tiles on steps. While they were waiting I wanted them to paint 2 small rooms and replace the electrical outlet covers and regroup a tub. The first day all they did was remove the old tile, paint one coat on a room, reground the tub... I had to remove all their trash, tiles.they asked me too. They did not want to remove it. I bought items to save them from going to home depot 5 minutes of the street. They still went and the person watching the work said they got there around 9am not 8am...left for an hour or so. The next day they finished the tile and repainted the room with the second coat. That's it. The could have done the top coat for 2 rooms on the first day and second coat the second day. I have painted an entire interior of a house in 4 hours (one coat). They had 2 people and painted one room. The second person did not seem like an everyday employee. She was there while he left. All she did was slowly paint....NO real hard labor. Then they asked me to pay through PayPal as a friend. No credit cards, no checks...I guess they did not a record of the transaction. I never received a notice or receipt of the work performed...like I should with a business.

Description of Work: We had a pre-existing leak in our bathroom that was covered up by previous owners. It caused water damage (and mold) in the vanity, floor and ceiling in the lower level.

+ -1 moreI called them and set up an appointment and discussed what was needed. They said on that call that they could do the work. They came out that morning around 8:45am and said they knew what was needed to be done. During that time, they spent an hour and a half to pull out materials from the garage instead of taking what was needed at that time. Around three hours into the job they told me that they were having their supervisor come out because they didn’t know exactly what to do. When the supervisor came out he said the workers didn’t know what to do and wanted him to look it over. I asked him if he was okay with the progress of work and he said he was okay with them doing what they could and that is okay.
Description of Work: They were working on my deck to put in posts for deck railing and decking.

+ 0 moreInitially the service started off well. The first day the handyman installed the ceiling fan and did the front door frame. The second time he came back with a handywoman for the mudding, grouting and caulking. Things seemed to be going well except when I found that they had gone into my closed purse and stole $200 from my zipped wallet!! Needless to say I called the owner, his people denied it; I filed a police report and of course nothing came of that. I even called to let Angie's List know and they couldn't do anything. I would NOT hire them again in fact we have had to hire another painter to fix and finish the job. So instead of the $360 8hr special rate we were to be charged, this mess cost us $560!!!!
Description of Work: We had a ceiling fan installed, the front door wood frame redone and painted, a bathroom partially re-grouted and caulked and cracks and settling in the dry wall and ceilings mudded for them to come back and sand down and paint.

+ -1 moreThere was difficulty with scheduling, they were suppose to put together an elliptical but when they took it out of the box they placed the trash from the box on top of the screws for it and said they weren't able to put the elliptical together because they couldn't find the screws for it and I ended up putting it together myself. Overall they were here for 1.5 hours to perform the tasks I had them do.
Description of Work: Replaced a lightbulb in the chandelier outside and did some minor drywall repair inside the house.

The biggest reason for the B as opposed to the A when it came to quality was that while Mike was exceptional, it was apparent that some of his staff were new to their roles and need a little more guidance than I would have expected.

+ -1 moreThe finishing was good. The only thing I had an issue with was that he had quoted me a price. It was like $50 and hour. And then that morning when they were due to come out, he sent me a message saying that it was $50 an hour and that he was sending out to people. So I'm thinking it's going to be $50 an hour when actually it's going to be $100 an hour because he's sending two people. So, I feel like they need to get their approval on that first and definitely not let the customer know at the last minute. The guy that came out to do the work. The issue was with them not quoting the correct price or letting the customer know there's a change ahead of time. The actual price was only $75 because the second person didn't actually show up. If the second person would have shown it, it could have been a much higher cost. For pricing I gave them a C because if I'd been aware in advance, I probably could have looked at somebody else to compare the price. But, it was that morning and I definitely needed the service done. I would use them again, but I would definitely need to know the cost and let him know that I didn't want two people sent. Work that out ahead of time.
Description of Work: I needed to get a tree cut down and I needed to get two light fixtures moved.
