Description of Work: They centered my light fixture. Removed old base boards and put down new ones. They also painted. This all was done in my 1/2 bathroom.

Description of Work: Everything went well. I was a little worried in the begining they said there may be other charges for the services after I paid but it turned out they did the repairs within the hours that were paid for and they did a good job.

Description of Work: I am extremely dissatisfied and disappointed with regard to my experience with IBC Construction. Furthermore, I feel that Erik Rosado, Executive Account Manager at IBC Construction, as well as IBC, are dishonest and untrustworthy. Erik and IBC refused to honor the Big Deal as presented by Angie's List which was for demolition/installation/grouting of tile and disposing of all debris. Erik added extra fees, one fee for something that was already supposed to be included in the Big Deal and the other fee was a "GC Fee" that was not mentioned in the Big Deal. Erik gave me an estimate which included additional work I did not request, i.e., removing/reinstalling toilet and sink, painting, etc. I told Erik that all I wanted was the scope of work described in Big Deal. Erik then removed the extra items from the estimate, except he kept in a "GC Fee" in excess of $100, as well as a fee for disposing of all debris when that was supposed to be included in the Big Deal. When I reminded Erik that the debris removal was already included in the Big Deal, he said he "apologized" and removed the disposal fee but not the "GC fee". When I asked for an explanation as to the "GC fee", he said it was kept there because I asked for "extra" items such as the baseboards. Shame on me! Seriously, whoever heard of installing new floor tile and leaving the old tile for the baseboards? I understand that there should be extra labor charges in the estimate for the baseboards and any tile in excess of the 40 square feet which is a no-brainer and were rightfully included in the Big Deal. However, the Big Deal makes no mention of assessing a "GC fee" in excess of $100 if there are any NECESSARY changes or additions. No one's project would be exactly 40 square feet! Furthermore, at our appointment, Erik advised that the bathroom tile area was less than 40 square feet, but when we received the estimate, all of a sudden the tile area was more than 40 square feet. Lastly, I would like to point out that there is supposed to be an $80 allowance for tile, and I suspect that the "GC fee" is added to offset that tile allowance. I have all documentation and e-mails to support the statements I have made in my review.

Description of Work: Erik came by for estimate on my cabana bathroom. However, when the quote came back, it was not within my budget. Erik was really nice and I appreciate his time for coming out to see what I wanted and if the deal was right for me. Would definitely use them if I had the funds.

Description of Work: Had them hang 5 doors in my house. They showed up on time and showed them what was to be done. The supervisor looked at everything and made sure the worker understood everything. The supervisor left and the worker started the job. After hanging the first door he said the second one was not fitting. I took a look and he was hanging the door upside down. He did the same with the first door. I told him to stop and called the supervisor, who came right away. He saw what had happened and apologized and promised to fix the doors. I also had a whole in the door frame where the guy put the faceplate in the wrong place. The supervisor replaced all the doors that were ruined and had another employee come to hang the doors. He hung all 5 doors, it took MUCH longer than expected but they did not charge for the extra time. The doors looked good, not perfect, and he did repair the hole in the door frame but it is still noticeable. After a short time one of the doors crack by the hinge because he trimmed the door so much that there was little wood left to support it. I will need to replace/repair the door myself. I will not call them it fix it, I will just cut my loses.

Description of Work: I know that my review receives more credit if I use the service but this company made is impossible to even get an estimate. We called them several times and told them we were interested in an Angie's Big Deal and the girls answering the phones told us they were not even running a big deal. They took our name to call us for an estimate and even gave us the contractor's cell phone. We called several times and left messages to get an estimate, but if they are not interested in working then we are not going to beg them to work. I would NEVER recommend this company.

Description of Work: Totally a scam. The salesman came to my home as agreed to provide an estimate for hardwood floor install. Nice guy, explained everything, made excellent suggestions and gave me a rough estimate. The next day the supposed supervisor calls me with an estimate that was almost twice as high and tries to convince me that I needed additional work on the floor that I knew I didn’t need, and that was specifically addressed by the salesman when he gave me the original estimate. Then they do the used car salesman trick where this second person has to talk to the owner, or someone else to corroborate this inflated second estimate. I call twice to hear that they are in a meeting and will get back to me regarding the inflated estimate. Basically they wanted to remove the baseboards on the floor, after removing the carpet instead of installing the floor and using quarter round trim to provide a finish. They knew perfectly well that once the baseboard was removed it would not be able to be reused and I would be stuck having to purchase and replace the baseboards. I had been down that road before at another home and specifically discussed this with the salesman. I guess he was ignored in their frothy desire to scam me. Anyway the carpet was removed by showcase flooring, the hardwood was installed and quarter-round trim was added to 2000 sq. In 10 days, including 18 stairs. The floors look beautiful, and I dodged a bullet. Avoid IBC Construction and their Angie's List scams.

Description of Work: Wayne started by arriving late on a Monday. Worked for about an hour fixing drywall and said he would come back next day, when I go go home I was to call him. I called him on Tuesday around 1:30 and he said he would be over in about an hour. He never showed up. No one called me and I waited around all afternoon. The next day someone from the company called me. She said I had to pay for the materials, I told her I knew that. She also said I had to pay for a second dispatch and additional time because Wayne had clocked in two hours the day before. I owed $105 and she didn't send him back because she wanted to be sure I would pay. I asked why no one called me. She claimed to have tried 5 or 6 times, I was the only one home and I don't recall any extened calls. Anyway, someone did come out and complete the work and it was ok. Not great.

Description of Work: The gentleman that did the actual work was EXCELLENT!!! |The supervisor or owner or whoever that came while person was nearly finished was a bit rude, and I had no knowledge of someone else coming to check on the first man's work.

Description of Work: The guy came out and talked to me and explained the incorrect wording in the deal. I agreed to go ahead with the deal. He said he would get the information and samples to me. I had other questions, and he said he would get back to me. Several days passed, I was still waiting on them to send out the flooring samples. The office staff was wonderful and understanding. I just decided to get a refund, since it is too complicated of a process right now for me.

Description of Work: They fixed miscellaneous handyman repairs. But keep in mind- when your voucher time runs out, it gets very expensive. I had to stop my list at a point where the fees were adding up too fast. The were great about going to Home Depot to pick up what was needed, but that really cuts into the time you've paid for. If you know what supplies you need, do it yourself. I just wasn't sure what they would need for my repairs. So I had to go that route. They are beyond nice and first class all the way. It was a pleasant experience.
