Excellent job, fast and friendly. I've used him twice now. Ken had a challenging job, as I have several places where my roof is notched for close trees, some downspouts had to be located in odd places, and the new gutters had to be joined to older ones (which he did two years ago). He did an excellent job and was very creative about how to solve these problems while making the gutters look clean and well thought-out. Highly recommended!

We faced an awkward arrangement in which a previous contractor had replaced a central seamless gutter; we did not ask for leaf guards. The gutters were of different widths and, even to the untrained eye, installation looked "off." Off such that it made it difficult for water to actually flow to a down spout at either end. The difficult flow was made all the worse by the large amount of oak leaves, oak flowers, and twig detritus falling from three large oaks; difficult to the point that leaf dams in the gutters often caused overflows, even in modest rains. I called Ken's Custom Gutters for an estimate. Ken arrived on time and proved himself both personable and professional. He offered a repair effort, but I insisted on replacing the entire gutter arrangement. His team arrived on time and was done is less than a half day. The Team appeared competent, experienced, pleasant, and professional. They formed the gutters on the spot and installed what appear to me as excellent leaf guards. Previously, I'd used the leaf guards available via home improvement stores, etc., but which either dammed wet leaves and water against the roof lip or which blew off in a modest wind. The team installed leaf guards that screwed into the fascia and outermost gutter lip. I'm confident those will be better than the cheap products I installed myself. The high capacity 7" wide gutters handled the deluges we experienced in August and early September. [end]

Ken's arrived and gave me his estimate. He was slightly more expensive than the other person bidding on the project. However, my home is slightly irregular. He had all the solutions to the problems that were present on my home. He did the work as contracted in the time that he promised. He even hooked my rain barrels up without extra charge. If I ever need gutters again, I would use Ken's service.

I waited for some time to post a review as I didn't want the "fog of war" to cloud the review. We had done major renovations inside and out of our home. We replaced the roof and removed the gutters and most of the downspouts, excluding gutters inside of our pool enclosure. We called Ken's, who were friendly, but did not return our call for about a week. The salesperson (I think related to the owner, son perhaps) came out to give us an estimate. We wanted all new gutters and downspouts to match. We knew the gutters attached between the roof and our pool enclosure would stay as this would need renovations to the enclosure. For that area we only wanted new downspouts to match all the others. We set a date for the to do the job. No one showed and no one called. It took a few days before I got a call back. They told me they were sorry but they had entire crews quit. It took three more weeks for anyone to show up. The new crew were very polite and seemed to work well. It took a few days to finish the job. We only knew they were finished because no one showed up at the house. Fortunately, it rained heavy that week and we saw two gutters were not pitched, so water was gathering at one end and pouring under our new portico. I called and asked when it could be fixed. He told me he have someone come out and look at it. He called back and said their guy said it was fine. I used a level and saw that it was level and called back. He came out to verify. He said someone would be out the next day to fix it. I checked and it had not been. I called and he said he didn't know why someone hadn't done it. He said they would be there the next day. I called the next day he said it had been done. There was no way of me knowing that. No call -- no note. I used the level and it had been fixed. During this time, an older lady called me every day asking for their money. I told her the job wasn't complete. She seemed to think it was. I told her I would be happy to pay them when the job was complete, and that I knew the motivation to complete the job would not be there if I paid them. She was pretty rude. Not horrid, but assuredly not customer service oriented. I also noticed that two downspouts in the back of the house were not replaced. When the salesman showed up to collect the check. I gave him the check and asked him about the downspouts. He said they weren't supposed to replace those. I told him they were supposed to replace all of the downspouts. He said they didn't charge me for them. I told him we still wanted them as we wanted them to match. He said it would cost $100.00 extra. I said that was OK and asked when they could do it. I told him I didn't was to wait like we did before. He said they would have it done that week. I asked him to put it in writing and that if it wasn't done that week, it would be free. He hand wrote it and gave it to me. After a week went by, I called him and he said he couldn't do the job for free and that he was in trouble with his boss. I told him that frankly that was his problem, not mine for making a promise he couldn't keep, again. After some posturing on my part with threats of having him to speak to my attorney, he asked me why I would be so mean to threaten to sue. I told him it would cost me more to pay for our attorney than to pay for the work that he promised to be done on time or it was free, but it was the principle. I told him that I, too, own my own business and there is no way I could get away with treating my clients the way they were treating us. I relented. I told him I would pay the extra $100.00. they installed the downspouts later that week. One, they installed backward. Instead of hugging the wall of the house, they installed it so it bowed toward the pool. A minor annoyance. But, at that point, I didn't want to deal with them any longer. Fast forward to today. We have had several nails that go through gutter to mount it to the eve, come out. I called last week to ask them about it. Whomever answered the phone told me they don't use them and that they didn't do the job after I gave him my name and address. I told the man who answered that I was calling the number from the invoice. He then said it was out of warranty and it would cost me $150.00 just for them to drive out to the house. I will be calling another company to fix those and to turn that annoying downspout around! :)

Excellent and without stress is the best way to describe the whole experience from the estimate until the job was completed. I already had one estimate, but I always like to get at least 3 estimates before I make my decision on any work I have done on my house. I went on Ken's Gutters website along with another company and filled out the form to request an estimate. Ken contacted me within a few days and set up an appointment within a week. Ken came out, took measurements, and I requested that the gutters match the color of all the exterior doors of my house which are pearl grey. Ken gave me the estimate when he finished with the measurements, and told me about the whole process. He said it would take 3 hours to make and install all the gutters and downspouts. His price was half the cost of the estimate I already had and I had not heard a word from the 3rd company. So I hired Ken that moment of the day. We agreed upon the following Friday for them to come out and install the gutters. I was a little nervous because I'm not usually so impulsive. Friday came, the workers showed up on time, set up their equipment and went right to work. They even took a few moments to show me how the seamless gutters were made because I was curious how the gutters could be seamless when the truck came and the gutters were not with them. They showed me how the equipment inside the truck actually made the gutters right there in my driveway. It was very interesting. Near the end of the job I was checking out the work. I saw that the downspouts ended too close to my house and I asked the installers if that's how they were going to leave it and they said that's what the estimate called out for. They did satisfy my concerns by adding the extra pieces of the downspouts they cut off & were going to discard anyway to the end of the gutter which put the gutters where I thought they should be. I didn't have to wait long to see how well my gutters worked, it rained the very next day and they worked great. My other concern was how well the color match would be to my garage and other house doors. They matched the color perfectly! I definitely recommend Ken's Gutters to anyone who needs gutters.

I met with Ken and asked for a quote for new gutters around the house. Ken and one of his crew immediately measure the house and completed some calculations and within 20 minutes he gave me a quote for the work. I called him back aproximately 1 week later and asked a few question about the materials and agreed to schedule the work. I receieved a start date that was one week out. On the morning the work was scheduled it was pouring rain and the office called to inform me that they would not be able to perform the work ans rescheduled to a couple of days later. The new date was a work day for me but I went ahead and agreed. Ken called me after his crew completed the job and asked to meet with me to review the work. The quality of work and the customer service was great.

After the estimate it was approximately 2 weeks untill they could do the job. I was notified the morning of the job that they would be out to start work The workers, Rudy and Travis were a little late arriving because they had so much to load onto the truck. All the old gutters and downspouts were removed and the areas were prepped to install the new. I ran into an odd situation. Someone asked the installers, Rudy and Travis, if they could take all the old gutters that were piled in the front yard. They told her that it technically belonged to me, she came to my front door to ask. Frankly, I was not expecting this and said it was okay with me but when Ken was called he told us that, the scrap recycle was worked into the price of the job. The person was not happy and left. It was a logical explanation since he was replacing all the scrap with new product. My reason for writing this is to let you know, the recyling of the scrap product impacts the removal cost for the old to replace with the new. It is the right of the company to scrap this for cash and recoup thier removal cost. The job was a big one and it took two days. The installers worked efficiently and completed it by 4:30 pm the next day. They did a good job cleaning any scrap pieces missed during the job. The installers were courteous and professional.

I noticed that there was an area that had been left out of the design of gutters and told one of the workers. He walked to the site, and immediately rallied the others' to be able to finish quickly. He was very polite, apologized, and got right to it...I felt I was dealing with professionals who cared about their product and the final result.
Description of Work: Ken's came out immediately after calling them. They analyzed, drew a picture of what they would do for me and made me feel comfortable about my wanting more bids. I did take three more bids, all from nice professional people, but decided on Ken's because of their thorough bid and their prompt service. I did ask for help deciding on how to fix a serious problem, and there was consideration, then a solution which worked incredibly well. I even asked for a "tweek" because I decided not to do something, and an added piece was put in that day. I recommend Ken's without reservation. I really appreciate what they did for me. I'm sorry I don't remember how much I spent, but it was a fair price and right along with the other bids.

the workers were very nice and very professional.. the salesman never gave me a written estimate and i still as of over a week later gotten a warranty on the gutters . i never met ken until the truck broke down in front of the house. they made arrangements at broke them more than twice. it was frustrating as i had to take off of work. i believe they have good workers and are a good business. but i did not have a good experience but it happens.. just dont get the guy i had for the sale. use ken only.

Ken came onsite and promptly provided the best priced estimate of the 4 we had received so far.. Ken's custom gutters came out and gave a quote the same day I requested it. The gutters were installed while I was at work and I came home to inspect and pay for the work done. In addition to the normal install they also put in splash guards at no additional cost. The installers were very nice and explained the work done. I waited until a rain storm to ensure the gutters were not leaking and I didn't notice any.

I didn't receive a call regarding scheduling. However, I did receive a call advising me that the crew was on its way to my home to do the installation, which was fine with me. I went over the installation with the person who, I assumed, was the crew chief, so to speak. We reviewed the estimate, as well as the work that was to be done. He told me that the work would be completed today, and that I could pay the bill by check or in cash. I will be paying by check. The crew arrived around 1pm, and was finished by app. 4:30pm. There were three guys, including the crew chief. They went right to work, and everything seemed to be progressing very smoothly. The installation involved primarily straight runs, plus a diverter to deflect the runoff between two roof surfaces, and three downspouts. After the work was completed, I went around the house with the crew chief, and he showed me the details of the work that was done. If there were any problems that would develop, he said, they would be leaks that could be addressed with one service call. He felt confident, he said, that there wouldn't be any leaks. I told him that everythng looked good, and the proof of the quality of the work would come after the first heavy rain, which he agreed. As of right now, I have no complaints. So, I gave them an "A" rating. I'm just sorry I can't remember anyone's name, because I think they deserve some kudos. Nevertheless, I'm reserving "final' judgement until I see how well the gutters and downspouts perform during a rainstorm. 11/7/11 We were away for two weeks following installation of the gutters. During this past weekend during a short heavy rain, we noticed a leak in one corner, including the downspout. The water appeared to be leaking from a seam in the corner, and water was leaking from the downspout where the downspout connected to the gutter. I sent an email reporting the leak yesterday afternoon. If I don't hear back this morning, I'll place a phone call this afternoon. I didn't hear back from the company; so, I called. The woman who answered the phone acknowledge receipt of my emai, and asked for my address. She said that someone would be at the house; but, she didn't say when. She said that if we weren't home, whoever showed up to do the repair would leave a note on the front door. It occurred to me after I hung up the phone that I had absolutely no idea if or when anyone would come to the house to make the repair. If no one shows up today, I will call the company tomorrow to find out what's going on. No one showed up; so, I called the company in the afternoon on 11/7. I believe that I spoke with Ken himself. He said that he was backed up on installations because of the weather, and that he would get to me by the end of the week. I told him that I was willing to wait, and that I just wanted to be able to plan my schedule. As of Saturday, 11/12, no one has shown up and no one called. I'll give it another week, inasmuch as the weather is ok (no rain), and I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. For this reason (that no one showed up and no one called), I downgraded the company from an "A" in responsiveness to a "B". 11/15/11 - As of today, Tuesday, I haven't heard from the company. I started researching on the internet how to fix leaking gutters. It appears to be a simple task. 11/16/11 - I received a call this morning informing me that someone would be at the house within a half hour. Two men showed up within that time frame. One of the men apparently had been at the house when the gutters were installed, since he seemed to know which part of the gutter had to be repaired. He apologized for having to make the repair, and his co-worker proceeded to fix the leak. While his co-worker was fixing the leak, he explained how the corner and downspout were done and the type of fix, essentially caulking. This should fix the problem. The only way to tell is to wait for the next rain storm. I would still use this company, and I would still recommend this company, with an added caution regarding any follow-up work that may have to be done.
Description of Work: I tried calling the office to set up an appointment for an estimate on gutter installation, but there was no answer. I emailed (via the company website) a request for an estimate. According to the website, I should hear back within 48 hours. I sent the email via the website earlier this afternoon. I received a phone call the next day. The gentleman told me that he was in the vicinity, and could come out to the house that afternoon to give me an estimate. He showed up within the hour. He measured the sides of the house where the gutters would be installed. After running a few calculations on his cell phone, he quoted me a price of $620. He also said that the work could be done before we went on vacation at the end of October. When I told him when we were planning to leave, he indicated that the job could be done well before that date. I told him to go ahead and book it, so to speak, whereupon he told me that he would put the work order in at the office when he returned, and that someone would contact me to confirm the work order, and set up a specific date/time to do the work. I have gutters and downspouts on the front of the house, and gutters on part of the sides. He will install gutters all the way along both sides of the house, connecting to the part of the gutters that are already there, and all along the back of the house, including downspouts, and a "diverter" where two parts of the roof meet to form a "valley" where the water cascades off the roof like a waterfall. He will install 6" gutters, attached with spikes, inasmuch as the gutters in the front and part of the sides are attached with spikes. I did not receive a written estimate. But I made a note of the estimate. I want to see whether or not the the installation price changes substantially from the verbal estimate.
