had nothing but positive experiences with Synergy from beginning to end. They were very helpful through every step of my renovation that occurred as a result of water damage. Dean was particularly helpful in managing the project and quickly answering any questions I had. The house looks terrific as a result. I highly recommend using Synergy.

Our bathroom remodel turned out beautiful. The tile work, cabinets, granite, fixtures, etc, were all completed with amazing quality. Larry Hearld the project manager, was a PLEASURE to deal with; very responsive to texts and phone calls and super professional and courteous. I would definitely recommend them!

Cody, came out right away and explained to me what needed to be done and approximately how long it would take. This house is a rental and I was concerned about my renters, having to put up with all the work being done because the bathroom had to be gutted. It required a shower pan, new tile in the shower and on the floor, new vanity and lighting. Since this was a old bathroom, I had new lights put in and they coordinated all of that. I worked with Jeff A, who was the coordinator of the project. He was very knowledgeable about the whole process. He kept us (myself and the renters) informed whenever contractors were coming and the work that was being done. I appreciated that I could text him at anytime, if I had any questions. Everything was completed to my satisfaction. I am thinking about having my kitchen remodeled, and I would certainly consider them.
Description of Work: Synergy came and put dehumidifiers in the bathroom to dry it out after a water leak. They then remodeled the bathroom.

I don?t normally write reviews but after the devastating unexpected major water damage to our new home, people should know about the company that came to our rescue. Synergy Contracting Group came right over, walked us through the issue and how they would resolve all our problems. Without going into details of everything that needed to be done, let me just say this about Synergy. Their people are of the highest quality with strict attention to details, very professional and prepared. They were also dependable, arriving to our house each day on time as scheduled until the work was completed in a short period of time. No shortcuts, they do it right. It was evident the entire group of skilled workers took pride in their job and strived for superior customer service satisfaction and at the same time was a pleasure to have around. One team member in particular named Nelson was responsible for many of the tasks and worked the longest in our house. It was obvious Nelson was knowledgeable in ever field and held himself to the highest standards of perfection. He showed compassion for our situation and treated our home as if it was his own. Nelson is the type of employee whose commitment to excellence would improve a company?s overall quality. There was no job Nelson couldn?t handle and once finished our home looked even better than before the damage occurred. We have had the greatest experiences using Synergy and I highly recommend them to everyone for all your construction and restoration repairs.

On July 25 2015 an inlet line on a toilet broke in a Duplex my 89 year old father owns in Treasure Island FL flooding one unit. My father was just getting home from the hospital after heart valve surgery and was still feeling the effects of the medications so I went over to meet a plumber that was repairing the line. I was visiting from out of state until my father could get back on his feet and didn't know who to call to repair the damage so I took the plumber's recommendation and called Synergy Restoration and Construction. They came out promptly and told me to get a copy of the Insurance policy. My father handed me the wrong policy that had a 3300$ deductible. Cody Vogt filled out a contract and put 3300$ in as the deposit to start work. Later that day when I tried to put in a claim the insurance company informed me that the damage was not cover under that policy. We obtained a copy of the correct policy (with a 1000$ deductible instead of 3300$). Cody did not amend the contract saying that once the insurance company settled any overage paid would be refunded to my father. Cody met with the insurance adjuster at the property and together they came up with a list of what needed to be done. The adjuster came up with an estimate of 4108.69$. The total that Synergy charged was nearly 21000$. Not once during the repairs did Cody call anyone to let them know they were going so much over the estimate. It wasn?t until after Synergy filed a lawsuit against the insurance company that we learned of the gross overrun. The lawsuit was settled out of court for 11000$ (of which my father had no input) leaving my father to make up the difference.

The first thing I want to tell everyone....DO NOT SIGN ANY PAPERWORK WITH THEM!!! CONTACT YOUR INSURANCE COMPANY FIRST. Our insurance claim was approved and paid within a month. Had no problems with the adjuster or insurance company. Tom (rebuild project manager) and Matt (mold mitigation crew) were great. They were here when they said they would be. Matt would call the night before and even showed up at 6:30 am to accommodate our schedule. We were very impressed with the quality of work, but the timeliness and organization of the work had much to be desired. The first day, Synergy required a $1000.00 deposit to start any work. They also wanted to see our home owner's insurance policy to see what was covered before they would start locating the leak within the wall. Once they confirmed our insurance coverage, they went to work. My first mistake was to sign paperwork with them prior to contacting my insurance company. It took them about 2 days to demolish the bathroom vanity, separating wall and dining room upper and lower cabinets in order for them to "locate" the leak which was in the wall at floor level between the bathroom and dining room/kitchen area. They found mold covering the entire wall, dry wall, and cabinets in contact with the wall. Major mold and water damage. The entire process took 2 months to complete. Mold mitigation and passing the mold inspection took a month. We did not pass the first time and required another 2 weeks of daily cleaning before we could have it retested. We were tented and had air handlers and dehumidifiers in our home running 24 hours a day for a month. After about 2 weeks of this, the mold mitigation crew started showing up to clean the area. I would had preferred they remove the affected wood and rebuild, but they treated the area and only rebuilt the drywall. Not until Synergy found out that the insurance company paid our claim did they even consider rebuilding what they tore apart. And then, it was a hit and miss situation. They never really sat down with us to discuss the rebuild, what we wanted done, how long it would take nor when it would be done. I would think they would do this, plan the project and then do the necessary tasks such as ordering cabinets, flooring and paint to repair the damage. This should had been done the day after they took it out the wall. This is not what happened. Only after I called the company and demanded a meeting with our project manager did they even provide an estimate of what it would cost, and they it was very vague. I was frustrated and told them I would prefer to find another contractor to rebuild than to have them continue the project. The very next day, the rebuild team starting showing up. They walked through and saw the damage left and the scope of the project. This took about 5 minutes and then they received a call and had to leave. Didn't hear back for another week. This is what the project was like, hit and miss. They would show up for about an hour or two and then would be called off to do something else. Even though, they were scheduled to be at our house for the day. There were days we told them no one would be available for them to work. We choose not to have a key box on our home. Once we passed the mold test, the tent came down and machines removed from our home. The area sat exposed for about 2 weeks before any work began to rebuild. I found out that the cabinets were not ordered until about 2 weeks after the rebuild project started. The bathroom vanity was not ordered until after the kitchen cabinets were put in place. The entire rebuild should had taken about a week or two to finish. However, it took over a month and a half to complete. This was due to being called off after showing up to work, our work schedule (my husband works nights, and I work days). However, even when I would take the day off they would show up, start to work, and they have to leave before finishing what they were scheduled to do. VERY FRUSTRATING. Like I said at the beginning, do not sign any paperwork with this company. Call your insurance company first. Ensure you have scope of work and time table with them. And do not have a direct pay to them.
Description of Work: We had a slow leak in our bathroom that our plumber could not find which may have been leaking for about a year. They suggested we call a leak finder and suggested this company. Synergy came out within a few hours to locate the leak. They agreed that it was in the wall and wanted to take the bathroom vanity off the wall to locate the source of the leak. After they pulled the vanity off the wall they discovered major mold and required mold mitigation.

[Removed Member Name] , I am sorry you are not satisfied with the work our company did on your behalf. Please keep in mind had Synergy not been involved this statement alone may well have prompted your adjuster to recommend denial of your claim. This company not only talks the talk, but they walk the walk! We had... a minor water issue the week of Thanksgiving. Jeff Smith came out on Black Friday and helped us. He assessed the damage, and arranged for the drying out process to start that afternoon. They were even here during when the insurance adjuster came out the following Monday to help us. They wanted to be sure the adjuster didn't miss anything that needed to be fixed. Knowing that insurance companies look for ways to not pay claims Jeff assured us that Synergy doesn't go after homeowners after the claims are settled. We also spoke to CJ Evers and he also said that they do not go after homeowners. Well, our insurance company just settled the claim 4 months later, and this company (Synergy) has not asked me for another penny. I have heard horror stories about some of the other restoration companies out there. This is one company that you can trust!!! Anyone wanting to talk to an actual customer of theirs can contact me anytime. Just have to warn you that I may gush on about how wonderful they are!

This company was a joy to work with. Every single employee I encountered(15+) was professional, courteous, and polite. I had a list of demands at the start of the project that had to be met. Most involved materials being used and quality. I communicated these to the project coordinator--CJ Evers. CJ ensured that every aspect of the project was completed to our satisfaction. As with any project, there were a few minor glitches--but he made sure they were corrected. We were told upfront the project could/would take up to 90 days. My wife though had scheduled our Granddaughters 1st birthday party at the house at the 60 day mark. Special thanks to CJ Evers and his crew for getting the job done early and in time for us to host our party. One last mention....Tom the painter was also outstanding. A1. Both in terms of workmanship and in customer service skills. We are very happy with the results and would highly recommend this company.

Bottom Line Up Front: We feel this company was not upfront about some of their practices, took an extended amount of time to complete the project, and the project manager failed to meet our expectations. However, there were some positives so I have categorized them below as the Good/Bad/Ugly. GOOD: The majority of the employees and subcontractors were very polite, understanding, and professional. The two gentlemen who "packed out" our personal belongings were understanding of our concerns and the two gentlemen who laid the floor tile did a good job. In fact, they spent a decent amount of time leveling the concrete slab to ensure the floor tiles were properly laid and it looks very nice. The company did replace items above and beyond what the insurance company authorized (such as the upper cabinets and counter tops). The Corian counter tops in the kitchen were replaced with granite as well as a cheap counter in the bathroom. While Corian is not much cheaper than some of the bottom line granites, granite does have a higher resale value for the home (so we consider this a positive). All of the 3" baseboards were replaced with a 5" baseboard. The company did negotiate with the insurance company multiple times to extend our hotel stay after our request had been denied. (however the extended hotel stay is a negative, see below). BAD: Some of the workmanship was lacking. We found obvious discoloration in the bathroom tile grout, there are some significant gaps between the base boards and flooring, and they painted over some items (like the Levelor blind ties) instead of removing them. They also left several boxes of kitchen items laying around while flooring was being removed and the contents of the boxes are now covered in construction dust. They also left the HVAC system running...some vents were closed off and some vents were left open allowing the construction dust to be spread all over the house and into rooms that were "closed off". They do not use professional movers; the same two gentlemen who packed up our belongings were the same two gentlemen who completed demolition. The Project Manager, Jeff, could not provide realistic project completion dates and it appeared that they did not use any type of PMT. Almost no single event was completed simultaniously and it was not uncommon to stop by the construction site to find that no one had been there in days. When we requested to change the kitchen island configuration the PM could only provide a word document that list general prices i.e., counter $800, cabinets $2400, plumbing $1900. No drawings or specifics were given despite our request. I expected to be provided with something more professional such as a schematic of the project with an itemized cost that contained actual sizes and styles of cabinets etc. UGLY: They advertised that they would negotiate directly with the insurance company for remediation and a full renovation...and they did. What they did not tell us, or the other party involved, is that they would stop all work if they ran into any problems with the insurance company. Which is what happened and in our case, we've been in a hotel with a baby and dog for 11 weeks now and the work is still is not complete (but it looks to be drawing to an end soon). We also feel they were not upfront about how they are able to do a full renovation beyond what the insurance company authorizes. When the insurance adjuster stated they would only replace the bottom cabinets and reface the top cabinets Synergy said they would replace all of the cabinets and that they would take the cost up with the insurance company. It appears their business model/methodology is that they limit your selection of materials to lower end products (think spec grade). They will dispute that the products are cheap. But we were picking out products before the insurance company ever paid them, so I cannot say where they got their budget from. Here are the facts: You are not allowed to pick your granite countertops because they use remnants. We were allowed to request a general color only. Our home had a combination of solid oak hardwood floors, 18 inch floor tiles, and carpet that they replaced on a budget of $1.40-$1.80 SF materials. We requested a porcelain floor tile that priced out at $2.65 to replace all the old flooring but the project manager fought us rather h****** this until we relented and went with the only floor tile he showed us. (we have no idea how much the tile actually cost just that it wasn't what we picked and wasn't a porcelain). One smaller bedroom had carpet (that was only a few months old) replaced. It was replaced with a Shaw Evertouch series. This is one of Shaw's cheaper lines and carries their shortest warranty at 15 years. Again, this brand was the only option presented to us. The kitchen cabinets were all replaced using a brand called Fabuwood (it was the only option presented by the PM). It is an import from China, only carries a 1 year warranty and gets mixed reviews online. Most showrooms and contractors describe it as "economical". Lastly, the PM chose to reconfigure the kitchen cabinets without speaking to us or the other party involved. The base cabinets were smaller than the original cabinets so he ordered a small cabinet and just stuck it on the end of the row. This shifted the placement of the Stove to the left an throws the symmetry of the kitchen off just slightly. The top cabinets were previously hung in a stair step design using single cabinets of varying height. The new cabinets are all the same height (which does give one extra shelf) but is not as visually appealing and again there is one small cabinet thrown on the end. The refrigerator was encased using a plywood panel, previously not encased, and it just looks cheap. On a separate wall one cabinet was previously a glass front with glass shelves and back lighting; it was replaced with a regular cabinet. The house was gutted before we realized that our options would be limited to their brands/suppliers rather than be given a budget to work within...at that point our hands were tied unless we wanted to pay extra. My family is in the construction business so I do not have unrealistic expectations. I encourage you to discuss your expectations and budgets upfront if you choose to work with this company. Note: We were the tenant of this property in negotiation to purchase from the landlord. As such there were two insurance companies and two parties involved.
