RollShield LLC - Windows, Doors & Shutters

There's a common phrase in your business recommended to a friend and I guess I would say that. Fine, knowledgeable.

They've completed our shutters in bits and pieces. They've been here three or four times.

It was expensive because some of the shutters had to be motorized. It went fine. I would recommend them. They were professional,, nice and they cleaned up after themselves. We were very pleased from them.

I am a big proponent of Angie's List and rely on reviews left by consumers to find reliable providers for services needed. This company has failed on all accounts. The shutters on our sliding doors were damaged during Tropical Storm Hermine on September 1st. They were installed by a company called Rolladen. I tried to contact this company and found out they went out of business about 2011. So I went to Angie's list and found this company called Rollashield. I should have heeded the negative reviews. I will not go into full detail on my experience. However, I will say that a company worker came out to our home on 10/11/16 to look at our damaged shutters. He found out they still worked but the casing was badly damaged and would need to be replaced. He took measurements and promised to get back to us with a price. We wanted to submit the price to our insurance company. He charged us $162.50 and said we could apply this amount to new casings. Well, he never followed up with us after about 2 weeks. We called the company number again and finally a guy named Greg came out to look at our shutters. He said the first guy that came out did not know what he was doing. Greg said he could make a new casing and we also asked him for a price for new shutters. We never heard from him after a few weeks so we called back again. We spoke to a female receptionist who said Greg would call back. He never did and finally on 11/15 we heard back from a salesman who quoted us a price of $8000 for new shutters. We asked about a price for a new casing and he said Greg would have to give us that. He said Greg would call back. Today is December 10 and still waiting for that call from Greg since November 15th. Well, I think this company has communication issues and our service certainly could have been handled in a more professional manner. At this point after 2 months, we still do not know what it would cost to replace the casing on our shutters. We may have even purchased new shutters from them since our insurance was paying for new ones. Truthfully, I have no confidence at this point in this company to continue to call and hope to get a call back. I hope that if you use this company you will have better service than what was provided to us.

Took awhile to have shutters made and one was made wrong but corrected quickly. Price was a bit on the high side but quality seems good.

They are in process - measurements were double checked on 2 occasions and that's a plus. Once they're fabricated, should be 1 day installation. I'm not rating some items as the installation is NOT complete.

Had a old window that needed replaced and want to put a sliding door Instead. Called Rollsheild for pricing, there prices where very reasonable compared to other company's I called. I decided to go with a triple slider that would require some of the cement block to be cut out in order to fit slider. Workers come came out, on time, super professional, very polite and did amazing work to get the job done in one day! The triple slider completely transformed my entire living space. The owner of the company even took time out to call me when the job was done to see if I needed anything else. I would highly recommend for any window or complete upgraded transformations with your home!

Provider came to house in July 2015. Looked at the situation. I did not hear back for 3-4 weeks. I then called and was told they would work on it and get back to me. I followed up continuously and received great phone dialogue and then nothing in follow-up from Rollshield. I went to another provider for replacement of two of the windows. I never did get a response or an estimate from Rollshield. I then told them they had installed an upstairs patio door and it was leaking and they should fix it. After repeated follow up calls, they came out in Feb 2016 and resealed the door. They were at my house for maybe an hour and charged me for this visit - eventhough it was there issue that they were fixing. I called back in Feb 2016, about the third issue I had which was a downstairs patio door that the seal was broken - one of which Rollshield had installed in 2011. Again, as before I did not get any response. I followed up, contacted the original door manufacturer, found the dimension of the door and glass after Rollshield did not follow up, and in the end after promising me a status update call later that week, they simply never called or emailed me back after continuous attempts on my end. It was embarrassing to basically beg for service and beg to give them business. Between emails and phone calls, I logged in approximately 20 calls over a 9 month period and received just promises that they would look into it and be back in touch. I have assumed my business was not large enough for them but if that is the case they should have directed me elsewhere. Their customer service is horrible. I will never call Rollshield again and I advise others to proceeding cautiously if you do. I am shocked to see their rating on Angie's list because that is not representative of what my experience was with them.

Some parts were on back order, but didn't stop the work and they came in and are now installed everything looks great. Mark made everything work and cleaned up after the job. Great job. Thank you.

The quality of the windows is really good. Working with the people in the office was a night mare. The workmanship of installation was poor. The stucco work is poor. It took the inspector coming out twice to approve the installation...the time between the installers coming out to fix the issue was about six weeks. During this time the office called and said the inspector had signed off on the job and they wanted the rest of their money, when in fact this was not the case. I called the city and they said that they had not signed off on the job. Finally they came out and fixed the issues and we receive the final approval. In addition to this I found another problem they created several months later. They cut an electrical wire, did not tell any one and stuffed it down in the wall. That wire supplied electrical to my kitchen island and it took over a hundred hours of an electrician looking for it.

It was a good experience. We spoke with Chris Collard at the Tampa Home show about this relatively small job. He was very informative and followed up with us in a few days. We thought we might be put to the bottom of the list because the size of the job and it being hurricane season. The shutter also had to be custom made account of the large window size. He had us scheduled within the month and kept us informed as far as the permit, etc. were concerned. Everyone was punctual and professional and the job and inspection went as scheduled.

The people I dealt with were extremely helpful . One thing I like about this company is they tells you what they can do not what they can't or don't want to do . And they deliver what they say. Thanks again

Everything went as scheduled and have had not problems since installation seven months ago. We are happy customers.

It went well. There were a few leaks because it rained the next day. I called and they returned promptly and re caulked

All went well except for one hiccup. On October 9th I noticed the windows and doors had separate keys which we agreed they would be all alike. Monday morning installer returned and corrected the issue. I didn't have to argue with anyone or constantly call. They came right out, Perfect. This is the first time I have hired a Florida company that did exactly what they said they were going to do. Everyone was professional and employees represented their company well. When I or any homeowner hires a company you expect what you pay for. This company delivered and then some.

Very professional installation. Initially they measured the doors but somewhere there was a mistake in the measurement and the doors that came out on the day of install were not the right size. They acknowledged the error and ordered new doors. It took a little longer than I anticipated but they were very good at making sure I was happy throughout the process. Straightforward installation with a good attitude making sure I got what I expected or more. A great example of under promising and over delivering. My expectations were exceeded.

The installers were very professional, timely, and very pleasant to deal with. I highly recommend this company.

It went fine, they provided a needed material that satisfied my needs. They did it with the highest standards of timeless and instillation. I was very pleased with their performance. Work was of excellent quality and highest value.

After researching several competing companies, we choose Roll Shield to replace all the windows and add a sliding glass door where none existed. We first came in contact with the company at a home show a couple of years ago and were impressed with the company's owner and management. The windows and door are lovely and add energy efficiency as well as safety in this area where severe storms are always expected. The work was done exactly as ordered and promised. On time, too. Always prompt even with the rare need to return for a "fix." For instance, the threshold plate had been installed backward so the screen door wouldn't operate easily. A quick call and promptly it was fixed. We have recommended the company to several neighbors and will continue to do so. Our next project will be a security screen for the front door. I doesn't look like a security door. We'd also like to have the same material applied to all the windows that have direct sun for additional help with heat gain. The entire staff is friendly and accommodating. When we call or when they call us, it's like talking to a friend. In fact, we feel like we do have a friend in the business.

Larry Sgammato, the sales person, was more knowledgeable than the other 2 contractors from whom we obtained bids. RollShield also installed the window protection in a very unobtrusive manner, which another contractor had told us was not allowable. An error was made in measuring for the hurricane screening on the transom above the front door, but RollShield took full responsibility and remeasured and remanufactured the required parts at their cost and extremely quickly. All work was handled in a professional manner, and all sales calls and installation appointments were punctual. All RollShield employees were friendly and competent. We would highly recommend RollShield for any home or business hurricane protection. We are very happy with the hurricane protection and with the look of the installed products.

The process went well. After obtaining estimates and interviewing the sales reps of some 4 or 5 companies, we selected RollShield. The estimate was neither the lowest nor highest; but we felt that RollShield made the most professional and responsive proposal. Angie's list reports were a major factor in the selection. The fabrication and installation all met our expectations and were done on schedule.

The work was done on time and in a professional manner. The repairs/replacements were excellent quality and I would recommend Rollshield in the future.

The install took longer than expected since the house is old and some of the windows and doors had some oddities.

Professional from start to finish. After a long discussion about integrity of corners and hurricane impact scores, we were shown a vast array of colors that were available, walked through the production process and advised of a tentative start date. There was some delay due to circumstances but the work was completed quickly, efficiently and neatly by a very competent crew. I chronicled the entire job through photographs and as soon as I figure out how to add them, I'll post several. The shutters have really perked up the mobile and there is always someone wanting to know where we got them. All in all, a very positive experience and I do recommend Rollshield for shutters.
