Precision Overhead Garage Door

They put me on their schedule the very next day and the project was completed as planned.

Our garage door would not open properly so I called that night to schedule for the next day. Precision was able to arrange a tech to come out the following day and was in touch when the tech was going to be late, which I appreciate. The first tech (Chris) determined that we needed a new garage door opener and gave us only two higher end options. We asked about coupons and discounts and he said there were none, which is incorrect. The website has them as well as Angie's List. He did not have the materials on his truck to finish the job and said he'd be back. He came back and said that the part was 35 miles away; could he come back at 8:30 in the morning to fix. We agreed. Well, come 8:30 the next day no Chris, but we did get a phone call from ARNOLD that he was on his way and would be here in 45 min. Unfortunately , Chris did not leave any written quotes and poor ARNOLD was kind of stuck in the middle of everything. ARNOLD was very professional and worked around my schedule, and put my trust back in Precision Door. He was very understanding and gave us several options from the least expensive to something much higher. We ended up choosing the middle of the road that met our needs. I feel like with the options he gave us before he started the work were transparent - knowing up front there are going to be shop supplies, gas surcharge, etc. fees that were built into the final price so that I was not shocked when I saw the breakdown of the final bill was very professional on his part, as well as what the warranty would be and what was most commonly used for a single car garage. I would recommend asking for ARNOLD if you need service. I cannot say enough good things about ARNOLD. He was very thorough with the work done and explaining everything to us when he was done.

It is now almost 3 weeks since your repair tech Chris came out to my home to repair my broken garage door springs, I finally have time to reply to this invoice and the hard up sell I was given by Chris. It seems that when I told Chris I wanted the $199 per pair that was in your add in the newspaper he proceeded to tell me that he never sells those springs and that there would be no warranty unless I bought the more expensive springs at almost $400 per pair plus I needed to replace the bearing plates on both sides for an additional $180, when I said no just give me the $199 deal he completed the job and I paid for the repair and parts. Then this morning I was going over the invoice and he charged me a $20 fuel charge and $15.39 shop supply charge when your ad states no service charge with repair, so now I am just disappointed that you advertise something then tell the customer something else when at their home. I will be calling your office if I do not here back from your company within 3 business days, the tactics that were used have me feeling used and deceived by your company and the extra fees and no warranty for a product your company sells (I was told the springs Chris installed could fail at any time and I should not buy them) is incredibly below board

Repairman (Dallas Frazier) arrived the same day I requested service. I inquired about installation of nylon wheels and the repairman without hesitation installed wheels. Garage door is significantly quieter. Very impressed with company--from first inquiry to service to billing. It is a pleasure to have work completed by individuals who seem to enjoy their jobs.

This encounter felt like a shakedown. Our garage door wasn't working. Scheduling the appointment was easy, and the tech arrived at the time scheduled. He was very polite. He informed me that the shuttle that catches the screw drive and pulls the door open when the opener is activated was stripped. He recommended replacement of the shuttle, as well as the springs and rollers. He explained that the stripped shuttle was indicative of the opener having trouble lifting the door. That made sense, though the quote was $800, which seemed very high. Although I initially (but reluctantly) told him to go ahead, after speaking to my husband on the phone and checking the prices of these parts online, we told him to stop. The markup was outrageous! By that time he had already replaced the shuttle, which means that the door is now working. When I stated we only wanted the shuttle replaced, the pricing sheet that he was previously working from mysteriously disappeared, and a $95 shuttle (which retails for $15 - $20, same part, same manufacturer) became a $208 repair. The tech told me that if I spent less than $300, he had to add $85 in labor (although the repair took mere minutes) AND a $20 fuel surcharge. So you forgo the $50 "service fee" but add ridiculous labor and gas charges? Seems dishonest to me. When I said that my husband was handy and could replace the springers and rollers himself, the tech told me that consumers cannot buy torsion springs. Not true! They are for sale all over the internet.

Called Precision for a free bid. They promptly came by and gave a bid in writing. After a couple of other bids that were higher I call Precision back and they came out first thing the next morning and made quick work of replacing everything, track, rollers, door, etc. Used the old opener since it was in good shape.

The installer that came was excellent.

They were very prompt and honest about our options. Work was excellent.

They came right out and did good job. Their price was reasonable as well. We will always call them for any garage door services we need.

Everything went well. The tech was punctual, professional and worked neatly. My only criticism is that I feel that they are expensive. All that being said I would consider using them again.

It was terrific. We started out with a service call to our existing garage door (thinking that it would probably need to be replaced). The tech who came out was terrific, and gave us options. We quickly decided that replacement was the best option. With the commitment to purchase, the service call fee was waived (good move). Installation was excellent . . . the crew did arrive late on Saturday afternoon (early evening). Not their fault (perhaps blame the dispatcher) and the crew leader called me several times during the day to keep me posted. Frankly, I felt worse for them than I did for me. When they did get here, they had the whole thing done is less than two hours . . . an impressive instance of guys really knowing what they were doing. I hope not to need a new garage door any time soon (barring a move to a different house, or something). But, if you need one, you should definitely give Precision a look.

I had an issue with my garage door opener and I’ll called precision to come by and repair it. I went with getting the garage opener replaced along with the springs and bearings. All the work was performed and installed correctly. I was caught off guard with the shop supply charge of 7% and an energy charge of $20. I have never been charged this by the competitors. This would have been nice to have known before the work was started. Outside any warranty work I might have come up with my garage door opener, I will be using a different company for my other rental houses. $70 is alot in additional charges . I was already spending $700.

Excellent! On 3 different visits, we had work done through Precision: 1) repairs done to rewiring since the garage door was not opening all the time; 2) physical repair to the garage door frame which was at no fault of Precision; 3) the Home Link was not able to be programmed for a new car. When I called Home Link, I was told the model of the garage door opener was not compatible with Home Link and the new car. Ross in particular is the nicest technician we have encountered! Ross spent a lot of time consulting others at Precision until he was able to do what Home Link said could not be done! Ross has come to our home many times over the past 2 years and we are grateful that he is who responds! We have used the services from Precision for repairs and installation of new garage doors over several years and would highly recommend!

Went very smoothly, but I will have them return to recaulk the weatherstriping trim which has some minor air gaps. Other than that the retro-fit was very well done.

The technician arrived on time and fixed the problem within a couple of hours. As is usually the case, the builder installed the cheapest garage door lift mechanism that was available at the time. We got stronger springs that should last longer than the originals. I could also notice that the technician adjusted the garage door for us. Great job!

Requested first appointment if the day and scheduled it two weeks in advance to ensure time Salesperson did not show and she was not reachable via phone She did offer to come late in the day bur first impression was everything Went with the company that showed up 5minutes early and called to confirm the day before

I got an appointment the same day I called for service. Kevin was right on time, very quick and professional. He went over the costs before starting work, walked me through the result, lubricated the door, and did a quick and quality job.

Very satisfied with the whole process -- estimate through completion. Fair price with discount ($1,830), solid communication, quality materials, quick installation, excellent workmanship. Door looks, works great. Would not hesitate to refer or use Precision again.

Great experience. Repairman diagnosed the problems, proposed repairs needed, and completion time. We learned the door is sturdy and solid wood. They installed new springs and a quiet door opener in under 3 hours, as projected. Noisiest door on the block went to quietest!

The technician came on time. Said that bearings needed replacement as well. Quoted what it seemed a very high price. When I said I would need to get some other quotes, asked for $50 service charge. When I told him that I had not been told about such a charge over the phone he was not nice. Did not take any money but was quite rude. I called another company and got the same job done (including the bearings which the other company said were ok) for 2/3rds of the quoted price.

I was very dissapointed, the men clearly did not want to work on saturday. They were abrupt and just short of rude. They left a mess of nails, screws and sawdust, that I had to sweep up before I could pull our cars in the driveway. the company response to all of this was excuses. I would not use this company again.
