I wanted to replace my 25 year old system while the tax credits were still in effect. The folks at Pinellas Comfort Systems were able to make that happen before the deadline as well as accommodate my awkward schedule. They were professional, tidy, thorough, and competitively priced. The install passed inspection without a hitch. I would definitely use them again and would recommend them to my friends.

Pinella's Comfort Systems did a really great job. They are extraordinary in their work and I have been very pleased with the way the did the job. They prevented damage in areas that could have been easily maimed throughout the process.

I am very satisfied with the work. They did a great job. The price was also very good.

They are great at cleaning up and not creating a mess to begin with! Price is also competitive. They are reliable in the sense that if I have a problem in the morning, they keep me posted when they can come out even if it's later that day or the next morning. They are polite, courteous, efficient, do the work, pleasant, and overall, no problems.

I thought the repair estimate by Pinellas Comfort Systems in January was too high and also, I did not want to replace the unit as recommended per the invoice, and so since it is getting hot now I called another company just recently who came out on 5/1/2010. The technician with XXXXXXXXX Heating & Air Conditioning Inc, came out, opened up the unit, found the problems immediately and fixed the air conditioning unit in about 20 minutes. Doug found a bad hard start and replaced it. Also, he found some electrical wires to the fan motor had been cut and he quickly spliced the wires together and fixed that problem. The unit did not need any refrigerant, it was fully charged. The total repair cost was $169.70, invoice #3472.. The unit has worked perfectly ever since the repair, and there have been some days with the temperature in the 90's. The unit puts out a lot of really cold air now. It works as good as a new one and it is 19 years old. When the unit quit working about 5 years ago, a couple of air conditioning companies were called out to fix it, and both said the unit must be replaced (and which I did not believe a replacement was necessary) and I could not afford to replace the air conditioning unit at the time, so I put in a window unit and have used that ever since up until the repair on 5/1/10.

They come out twice a year, in the spring and in the fall. They are very responsive. They'll fit you in right away if your air quits working. They are very dependable. When they come out for their routine maintenance or for an emergency, they call you to remind you of the appointment. They'll then call again about a half hour before they get there.

First of all, price is all subjective. What's a fair price to one is not to another so please don't get too fixated on the price. What's important with any provider is their service, punctuality, and demeanor of the technicians. On all of these accounts, I cannot rate Pinellas Comfort Systems (PCS) high enough. My old AC (heat/pump) unit was already 8 years old when I purchased my residence and it had been installed by PCS. I just continued the annual service contract when I assumed ownership of the home. Even then PCS was dependable and helpful with any problems that I had. When the time came to replace the system (by now almost 19 years old), I secured quotes from several companies listed on Angie's List. However, I chose to go with PCS because of my prior experience with them. I am a very discriminating home owner and dislike workman coming into my house and not cleaning their shoes off and generally leaving more of a mess after than before. This WAS NOT my experience with PCS. I had just remodeled a bathroom and the hatch to the attic where the air handler is was in that bathroom. Imagine my surprise when I arrived home from the office and found all the fixtures and the glass shower enclosure swathed in blankets and cardboard. The floor of my home (hardwood/carpet) were all covered with drop cloths and the two gentlemen doing the work, Randy and Shawn, treated my home as theirs. They worked quietly, efficiently, and were able and willing to answer any questions I had about the new system. This was a premier experience in having an AC unit replaced. If you want a quality job, professional gentlemen to install the unit, and friendly, dependable service, then PCS is the company to choose.

Our heat went out on Sunday and Pinellas was out on Monday morning. After inspection, Shawn determined the price to repair. Given the age and extent of the work needed on an old system, it was determined that it was in our interest to install an new system. Omar was out on Monday evening with suggestions and pricing. Since we have used Pinellas before, there was no need for a second estimate. On Wednesday morning, at the appointed time. Brian and Randy began working and didn't stop until late afternoon. They were back on Thursday morning to complete the job and Thursday evening I had heat. Pinellas loaned us a small space heater which proved invaluable. Jimmy came out on Thursday to inspect and tweek some areas. We were particularly impressed with the professionalism, punctuality, and willingness to please the customer of the sales staff and the installers. They were clean and efficient. There was no pressure to purchase a system and no pressure to purchase a system that was not suited to our home size. Omar took the time to explain our options and why the system chosen was best for us. We have used Pinellas for many years. They have now installed systems in two separate homes for us and we will continue to use their services for maintenance in the years to come.

They are reasonably priced. We did a lot of market research before choosing them and the systems they have installed are excellent. We are very pleased with the system. The workers were very helpful and they gave us very useful advice in terms of how to clean the filters and how to do the maintenance for the small items so we could save some money on it.

They told us we needed a board to have it fixed but could not guarantee that this would take care of the problem. We went ahead and had them put in a new Trane heat pump. They were very nice and professional. We were pleased with their service and would recommend them.

In my opinion is that they were good.

They are prompt, and very good about service. They always call when something turns up that is more convenient for you. I always get the same service people. Very professional as well.

Greg Minton, one of the owners, came by to give me choices and quotes. He spent over an hour explaining everything to me. The guys (Jason and someone else) came on the day scheduled right on time, and were professional, polite and cheerful. They completed the installation and left everything clean. When the inspectors (mechanical and electrical) came for the permit inspection, they found a couple of things they wanted to correct (petty things, I think!). The mechanical inspector came first and called the company to report what he wanted done. Jason called me within a half hour and said he'd be over shortly to comply. He was here while the electrical inspector was here, and came in when he was done and did the corrections, cheerfully. I was very impressed that they came over immediately to correct the problems. I am very pleased with the company and the work, and with the Trane unit.

WE ARE NOT VERY SATISFIED WITH THE RESULTS FOR THEIR SERVICES; THEY NEVER SEEM TO PERMANENTLY RESOLVE MOLD\MILDEW ISSUES WITH THE UNIT THEY INSTALLED. WE GET A DIFFERENT SERVICE PERSON EACH TIME SO THEY ARE ALWAYS STARTING OVER IN ADDRESSING AN ON GOING PROBLEM.

ON A PREVIOUS VISIT, THE TECH DID A GREAT JOB. THIS TIME, A DIFFERENT GUY CAME. HE WAS UNCLEAR ABOUT EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED TO REPAIR NOW AND WHAT WAS OPTIONAL, DIDN'T TAKE HIS SHOES OFF INSIDE THE HOUSE EVEN AFTER I ASKED HIM TO, PUT A GRATE BACK ON CROOKED AND ARGUED WITH ME ABOUT IT, WAS IN A BIG HURRY TO LEAVE AND WAS GENERALLY RUDE. HE SEEMED TO WANT ME TO MAKE A SEPARATE APPOINTMENT TO HAVE ANY REPAIRS DONE, ALTHOUGH I WAS NEVER SURE WHAT THOSE SHOULD BE. ANOTHER REPRESENTATIVE (WHO DIDN'T RETURN MY FIRST TWO CALLS) WAS OUT SEVERAL DAYS BEFORE. HE SPENT QUITE A WHILE AT MY HOUSE GETTING INFO TO DETERMINE WHAT KIND OF NEW UNIT I MIGHT NEED AND GAVE ME SOME HELPFUL INFORMATION. HE SEEMED TO KNOW A LOT ABOUT AIR CONDITIONING. THEN HE NEVER CALLED BACK. ALSO ASSURED ME HE WOULD LET THE TECH WHO WAS COMING OUT TO SERVICE MY UNIT KNOW ABOUT SOME KIND OF VALVE I NEEDED. THE TECH HAD NO IDEA WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT, SAID HE'D CALL TO FIND OUT AND THEN DIDN'T.

PINELLAS COUNTY COMFORT CREW WAS THE MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE AND FRIENDLY CONTRACTOR I SPOKE WITH. THEY WERE ONLY CONTRACTOR TO POINT OUT LOGICAL ISSUES WITH MY DUCT WORK. PRICES WERE QUITE HIGH FOR LABOR AND MATERIALS COMPARED TO OTHER CONTRACTORS I HAD BROUGHT IN FOR ESTIMATES. I HAD TO HAVE THEM OUT FOR A 2ND AND 3RD VISIT DUE TO THE SOUTH SIDE OF THE HOUSE STILL BEING A LITTLE WARM. THEY TOOK ABOUT 3 WEEKS TO COME BACK OUT TO INSTALL ANOTHER DEDICATED DUCT FOR THAT ROOM AND CUT RETURN HOLE ABOVE DOOR IN THAT ROOM. NOW THAT ROOM IS COOLEST IN THE HOUSE (ALTHOUGH NOW THE NORTH SIDE ROOM HAS LOST ITS AIRFLOW -- I NEED TO CALL THEM BACK ABOUT THAT). OVERALL MOST KNOWLEDGEABLE, BUT MORE EXPENSIVE.

PINELLAS COMFORT CREW AND (ANOTHER COMPANY), BOTH ANGIE'S LIST PROVIDERS, WERE MY 'FINALISTS' IN THE ESTIMATE PROCESS. I WENT WITH PINELLAS COMFORT CREW BECAUSE THEY HAD NO PINELLAS COUNTY CONSUMER AFFAIRS COMPLAINTS IN THE PAST 5 YEARS (OTHER COMPANY HAD ONLY 1) AND BECAUSE THEY WERE SEVERAL HUNDRED $$ CHEAPER.

THEY REPLACED A/C DUCTWORK ABOUT A YEAR AGO. THEIR PRICES ARE REASONABLE.

THEY ARE A VERY GOOD COMPANY THAT DOESNT SELL YOU EXTRA SERVICE.
