Also they came one day before the service for the diagnostic and charged $181.00 separately for that. I have been using this company for 20 years and was always satisfied before. It used to be a family run business but about 2 yrs ago was bought by the present owners, Pete Tremblay.

+ -1 moreThe serviceman was prompt and professional. He was knowledgeable and very nice. He diagnosed the problem quickly and replaced the part with one he had in his van. He obtained the part price from a book which I felt was too high, but overall I was satisfied with the experience.
Description of Work: Replaced a A/C part in the compressor. He also added Freon to the system to improve the A/C system.

+ -1 moreThe installer was professional and very candid with his advice. Very responsive and excellent customer service. On a side note the system had a bad solder joint that was found and lost charge. When we called them they immediately dispatched a repair tech who come out and found the leak. He repaired, charged the system, and retested everything at no charge as it was all under warrantee.
Description of Work: Replaced an existing end of life air conditioning system to a modern air conditioning system. They had to comply with the association installation requirements which are more stringent then Florida code. This install was done at the On Top of The World - retirement community in Clearwater, FL.

+ -1 moreThey were responsive to a situation that needed immediate attention, as the secondary drain emptied into a small water vessel. They cleared the drain immediately, and then told us how to avoid the situation in the future. They gave us several recommendations for keeping the primary drain clear.
Description of Work: The primary drain for our apartment air conditioner was blocked and water was coming out of the secondary drain. We called them at 4:50 pm, and they came by 8 pm and cleared the primary drain line for our airconditioner.

Description of Work: Replaced both main and smaller whole house HVAC units with Trane high efficiency systems, comptuter controlled, smaller 2.5 ft3 unit with electrostatic air cleaner for master bed room and library, with higher flow 4.5 ft3 unit for main house. The air handler are 3 stage, performence of overall system is outstaning.

+ -1 moreWe had not read the literature where Palm Harbor Heating & A/C say they are not responsible for any leakage or improper installation, and that there was no guarantee. The warranty was only on the machine and that was a manufacturer warranty. We later had the wall repaired and the installation corrected. They had later completely washed their hands off, which I felt was extremely poor customer service. My last communication with the manufacturer regarding this was towards the end of May 2008. I had also written to the Better Business Bureau, but they haven?t responded yet.
Description of Work: We had spent a large amount on Palm Harbor Heating & A/C Inc. in May of 2008 for air-conditioning. They had installed the complete system and in less than a month we noticed a strange smell and our wall had turned black. The carpet was saturated about 2 feet by the time I noticed it. They had installed it incorrectly. The people came and looked at it and suggested that we have at least a 2 or 3-foot extension which cost $250. We went against that and called another company to check on it. They said that the AC was installed at an angle instead of being installed straight, and that that had caused the leakage.

Description of Work: We have been using Palm Harbor A/C for many years and retain them annually to check our A/C system. During this year's visit the discovered a problem with the defrost board and recommended replacing it with a new one. Their estimate was right on and the work done as promised.

+ -1 moreWhen they came out initially, they found that the entire air dryer unit had gone out, and if they just replaced it, they worried that it wouldn't be up to code in 2009, so they just suggested it be completely replaced, which is what happened. They did a great job, and even cleaned out the ducts as well. We've never had our AC work as great as it does now. Our allergies haven't given us nearly as much problems. We are very happy with them.
