Our air conditioner needed to be replaced for some time but we kept putting it off dreading the experience and expense. We finally decided we could wait no longer and called Heinz Air Conditioning for an estimate. Mr. Heinz came to our residence to get specifics for an estimate. What a great experience! Not only was he very personable but his knowledge was evident. He listened to our specific needs due to allergy issues in the family and our concern over cost and efficiency. Mr Heinz checked the system we had in place, and checked our residence to see the layout and other factors that would affect what we needed. We asked many questions and Mr. Heinz was able to answer them clearly. A couple days later we received four options for systems with various seer ratings that would meet our needs with explanations of what each would do and ranged in price from approx. $4,000 to $8,000. We had additional questions while making our decision and called the Heinz office several times. Each time Mr Heinz talked to us and again clearly answered the questions. As a results we made our choice with confidence that the system we bought was exactly what we were looking for. We chose a system and a couple days later technicians Mike and Austin arrived to install it. Mike and Austin were professional, friendly and efficient. Within several hours our new system was up and running. Mike explained how to use the system and left us with a neat folder of receipt, instructions and information. Needless to say we are very pleased with Heinz Air Conditioning and our new system. We would highly recommend them.

2 worked well-the older units. The newer Trane unit - installed 2007 never worked after they left. 3 other times they came back. Once they said the drip pan filled with water and tripped the cut off switch. Once they changed the circuit board on the blower unit. Once the owner was too large a person to climb the ladder and he had to call another repairman. The unit has never worked - cooling or heating - frustrated I called another repair service. I wasted my money!!

We are sorry you are not happy with our service. A phone call explaining your concern would have allowed us to resolve the issues you had as we were not aware that you were not happy. I would also like to clarify that the repairs did not total $1500 like you said. You were billed a total of $879 which included all the combined calls. One was the cost to service all three units and add refrigerant to one of the units, and clean all of them. The second call was several months later to replace a control board that failed. We did this at our cost, with no labor or service call fee. The other two calls were related to a drain line backing up which we cleared twice again at no charge to you. We determined that the best resolve was to replace the drain line to allow for better drainage, which we would have done for no charge, however you declined the repair. As far as access to the unit, the access was in a small coat closet, that had a small attic access blocked by shelving and the contents of the closet. Rather then remove the shelving I called for another much smaller tech to respond to get into the attic without disrupting the closet. He did respond and cleaned the drain line again and again there was no charge for the service. All the repairs were made, after a complaint of no cooling, and worked fine after we fixed the issues. The drain lines were the issues that occurred later, and were unrelated to the original calls. Again, a simple call to address your concerns would have been nice and I would have personally guaranteed you would have been satisfied.

My fan motor and module went out on our a/c. I had already paid another company to come over and tell me what was wrong and give me a price. So, I wanted to call around to get other quotes. Vivian was so quick to get back to me on a price and was willing to send someone to fix it within a few hours. I called 4 different places and Heinz was the least expensive (by $125). I wish I had called Heinz in the first place! I ended up paying a little more to get it fixed quicker. However, Heinz will be on speed dial for any future problems!

I had another company suggest that I had mold and needed all of the ductwork replaced to the tune of $6000. We needed a second quote and this company came recommended by a co-worker. Jim came to the house and asked a lot of questions, and took a lot of airflow readings at all of the vents and returns. He then had me show him what filter I was using. I had an expensive one - he said "Throw that away and buy the cheapest hog-hair filter you can find". He even gave advice how to do it for a few dollars instead of using a pre-made frame. I did what he instructed and he came back for a second airflow reading a week later, with an even more impressive machine. He showed me just changing the filter increased the airflow several hundred feet per second, and I could feel the difference in my hot office. The downside is that I have to clean the filters monthly instead of every three, the upside is that the other company was exposed as trying to rip me off. Total cost for two visits was $125 (and new filters). I will certainly be using them again the future and have already recommended them to my family and neighbors. I

I called this company because they were referred by a remediation company I was working with. I had to wait TWO weeks to even get an appointment for someone to come out to discuss replacing the duct work in my home. I was told I would have an estimate the following day which was Friday or by the latest Monday. Well it is now Friday eight days later and I have not heard a thing . I guess they are really not interested in doing business as that is the WORST customer service ever. I really don't want to beg a company to give them my money. I will write this company off as not interested in doing business . Who wants to wait three plus weeks for an estimate?

You called our company on 10-08-2015 requesting an estimate for duct replacement. Since we were unusually busy for this time of year, we scheduled a visit to your home on 10-15-2015 one week later, not two like you stated , which was fine with you and you agreed to that day. Our service manager arrived and documented all the work that was necessary and forwarded to my office. On 10-19-2015 four days later, an email was sent to the email address you gave to the service manager. We never got a response to your email nor was your email returned to us. I will admit that I should have followed up with a phone call to verify if you got the email as you use AOL for your email provider and they are notorious for bouncing emails and filtering them to spam. I hope you checked your spam folder, and if you had not received the proposal in a timely manner, a phone call to our office would have allowed us to resend and confirm the email, or we could have sent it by regular mail. This is not how we normally do business, however we have thousands of customers and all are our priority, and like an emergency room at a hospital the most critical persons come first , the customers without any air conditioning will be our first priority. and as a result we were back logged almost one week. The service we got could not have been better. My phone call was answered immediately and a technician was sent out just as fast. They were extremely polite and knowledgeable and had the issue fixed and my air conditioner running again quickly. The service they provided went beyond what was necessary and the fact that they were willing to do it on a Friday afternoon/evening was a weekend-saver. We'll definitely use them again should we have another problem.

I met with seven air conditioning/heating contractors. They all gave me a price to do the job, and some explanation about what they would do. Some companies gave me a more thorough explanation than others. I also had a problem with insufficient heating and cooling to two rooms that have been added onto the original house. Jim Heinz, the owner, came to quote the job to me. He had a good grasp on how to solve the problem which he explained to me. His price included running a test at the end of the installation to check for leaks in all of the ductwork above the ceiling. He explained the purpose of doing that to me. No other company said anything about that to me, although it is my understanding that current requirements mandate that as part of any new equipment installation, all ductwork has to be inspected and any leaks have to be repaired. By running that test it was possible to find out if there were any additional leaks that needed to be repaired. The price he gave me wasn't the lowest one. It was the second or third lowest out of seven. But he gave me the best explanation of what work would be done. I spoke to him for quite a while. Later when I reviewed his proposal and had some questions, I spoke to him on the phone and he answered all my questions. I decided to hire Heinz Heating and AC. They showed up on time. The owner was with the installation crew. He and I reviewed what was to be done. He went over some details with his employees and left. Three men worked from 8:40 AM until 3:30 PM and I had AC again. The men were hard working, friendly, didn't damage anything, and cleaned up after themselves. Several days later, Jim Heinz came back with a truckload of test equipment and ran the test after he explained it to me. It's been a little over a month since the job was done and I am well satisfied. My only complaint is that I had to spend my money. I would recommend Heinz Heating and AC to anyone who wants to install a new AC system.

A/C went warm last night while my son was sick. I wanted to chill the house to help him breathe better. Did a little Angies list check, I called Heinz around 7:30 today. Had a call back at 7:56. I talked to Vivian, who was very pleasant. She said that the repair person would be out between 11 and 2. I get a call at 9:54 that Dave will be early, he was and he was professional and friendly. He explained to me what he was doing while checking the system. He didn't seem to mind the questions. Problem handled by 10:36. I didn't loose a day of work. I put one of their refrigerator magnets on my fridge. These folks are my go to if I need more A/C help.

This man and his company are wonderful. He REALLY knows his stuff. He came to our home on time, listened to our concerns about existing system, did a walktrhough with us, asking detailed questions about the problems. He left, did the calculations, provided an estimate within a day. Very fair pricing for an excellent system. He didn't try to oversell anything. Very professional. We had interviewed 3 others before him and had done our research on systems and their pros/cons. Everything he told us was true. Very impressive. The team arrived on the installation morning, got right to work. Found several small problems and fixed those along the way. Job was done completely, efficiently, cleanly, and system works fantastically. Can't believe the difference in the whole house. Definitely give this man a call for either sales or service. He's truly a gem and really gets what customer service is all about.

Installation went well, Jim Heinz is a very nice guy who explains everything. The other guys were very nice too. They quoted me the best price by quite a bit over two other companies, and then I requested the variable speed fan. We couldn't be happier. In the summer, we keep it at 78 at night and 80 during the day, but because the humidity is usually around 46, it's perfectly comfortable. They called to follow up after 6 months, and we ran a whole load test (I think that's what it's called -- they put negative pressure in house, and check every duct for leaks -- we found one and fixed that, and also added a small supply duct in the master bedroom because it still was running about 4-5 degrees warmer than the rest of the house. That did the trick. We also got two replacement filters (we use a single whole house filter) and the total was still only $331. Now the entire house is perfect. I should mention that we did spend $732 getting the insulation in the house back up to R30, a few months after the AC was installed. So, we got the unit in mid February, and now it's the beginning of November. By my calculations we are using 33% fewer kWh each month than last year. For us this works out to saving about $90/month. So far this year, even in our big house, we only spend an average of $183/month on electricity. Our highest bill was in July - $270. (BTW: Our heating is gas, and we have a swimming pool, but never heat it). Thus, we highly recommend Heinz A/C.
Description of Work: We replaced entire original unit (compressor, handler) which was made in about 1991 and had been dying a very slow death. The handler finally froze up and started smoking one day. Luckly I was in the house when it happened and shut the system down. Our house is about 2800sf with high ceilings. We replaced it with 5 ton Bryant model 226A 2 stage system 16 SEER and variable speed fan. They did a thorough check of the ductwork, and included moving and expanding a return, modifying a second return, updating and enlarging some of the return ductwork, and replacing all of the return grills.

We had a new unit put in here a couple of years ago so the equipment has been relatively new but they have come in here and serviced it twice a year. Everything has been okay and I haven't got any complaints. The technician who comes around seems to be nice, friendly, cooperative and no complaints. There are things they could be better at as far as waiting for the specialist filler that this unit requires, usually they don't have it in stock and you've got to wait a month before you get the replacement unit in. Their price is reasonable.
Description of Work: It was a general check of the equipment to see that the necessary charge was in there and the last time really from the heat exchanger the line had plugged up and they came and serviced it.

I will NEVER use another air conditioning company again.
Description of Work: I had a problem where my master bedroom was warmer than all the other rooms in my house. Another company said that they would have to replace the entire unit but Heinz A/C came out and added one additional supply duck and a return air duct and solved the problem at a fraction of the cost.

Everything exceeded expectations. If possible, I would have given Heinz A/C & Heating A+ for all aspects of this job. At around 2:30 PM, I realized that the house was not cooling down, even though the inside exchange-handler fan had been running for a long time. At this point, I noticed that the outside condenser & fan were not operating. I was able to determine that power was going to these items. I did not want to call the previous two A/C companies that had serviced my A/C. No specific reasons, just a personal belief that there were probably better A/C service companies out there and I would try and use the power of "Angie's List" this time. I had never used Angie's List for A/C service, but I have always been very satisfied with other types of service acquired after using Angie's List. Given the time of day (2:30 PM) and the fact that most A/C service companies quit for the day around 5-6 PM, I decided to try and find a highly rated company that were listed for 24-hour service. Heinz was one of the few highly rated (with a lot of reviews) with 24-hour service. To my surprise, a technician (Mike) was at my house less than 30 -minutes after I had called Heinz. He quickly spotted that the capacitor was "blown' and he had a replacement part in the truck. He swapped out the capacitor and everything in the outside unit was now working again. Mike the technician appeared to be very knowledgeable about what he was doing and took the time to explain to me the situation. Bottom Line .... within a hour of calling Heinz A/C & Heating, the house A/C was back up and operational again. I will definitely use them next time for any A/C problems and maintenance.

It went smooth from the beginning . Jim came out to see what I wanted and where. His technicians came out to install it. They took care of getting it all done, including an electrician. It all went smooth from start to finish, and now my bedroom is nice and cool. Before when I walked from the living room to my bedroom it was noticeably warmer. I could never get cool enough at night. What a difference this has made. Jim and all of his staff has been easy and a pleasure to work with. I will be calling him out to help with my air from now on.

No one showed. I called the office and they could not find the appointment on their books. The office person asked if I knew who I made the appointment with, I unfortunately did not. I took time out of the office to be at home. I know I called the correct place because I got their card from a neighbor.

We think [member name removed] may have originally called another company to schedule the original appointment. All calls that come into our company are logged in by computer and also by hand in a call log book. Everything is scheduled by computer both in a customer data base file, as well as calendar files for each employee. We searched all our records and have no evidence of his ever calling, except for his calling to question where the sales person was when he did not show. When he called, we immediately researched his information and could not find his record. We then tried to get his information to send someone to his house right away and he got very rude on the phone and hung up on our call taker before we could resolve his complaint with us. We have expensive software and call monitoring systems in place to prevent this type of situation. If [member name removed] would have been less rude and not hung up on us we would have verified if there was a mistake on our part, or his.

The original visit for an evaluation was provided by Jim Heinz, the owner. He was the only company out of 6 that actually looked at the outside and inside unit and the ducts in the attic to determine if the system could be repaired instead of immediately replaced. An estimate was provided after it was determined that the unit could not be repaired, for the Heat Pump and the air ducts in the attic. The company was able to provide financing options for the entire system and came out when requested to replace the entire system. There were a few minor problems with the installation, the technicians realized that they brought the wrong outside air conditioning unit and had to go back to the company to bring the correct one, then they put putty over the old box that connects the inside furnace unit to the entire air duct system instead of replacing it with a new box, and they forgot to install the inside power switch needed for building code requirements. (There was a breaker next to the outside unit and in the garage already, but the code required a switch next to the inside unit.) When I called to notify Jim Heinz of the problems with the box and the power switch, he immediately apologized and took care of all of the problems courteously and without additional cost. Installation took 2 days to complete, but the technicians were professional. I picked this company because of the ratings of the company on Angie's List and the BBB and the honesty of the owner. Despite the problems that I encountered the company proved that they deserve their reputation of excellence and honesty. The Bryant system works wonderfully and quietly and the house cools down very quickly. I will only use Heinz for all of my maintenance and heating and cooling needs.

Our air conditioner died on a Friday evening in early July, with a 5-week-old and out of town family in the house! Called after 5:00 PM on Monday and left a message that unit was running on auxiliary for last 2 days. The motor and capacitor had been replaced three months previous by another entity. The office contacted me for a Tuesday afternoon appointment, however the tech arrived at 11.00 am. High voltage circuit and delivery checked out fine (previous work), which immediately led to the capacitors and board. The micro voltage contacts on the board were checked leading to a burnt resistor. The board was located at a distributor approximately 25 miles away, purchased, and installed within a half an hour.
Description of Work: Located cycling problem and replaced shorted out electrical control panel in heat pump condenser.

On the first cold spell, the heat went out over New Year's Day. We called another A/C contractor who had previously worked on the unit to determine what was wrong. They spent 15 minutes wrote a $750 estimate and said they did not have the part they would have to come back after charging $70 for the service call. We decided that we needed another estimate since it could not be fixed until the next day (which was colder) and called Heinz Air Conditioning and Heating. The owner worked us into his schedule at 8:30 AM the next morning, gave us a $500 estimate and had the unit fixed within the hour. He was very knowledgeable, professional and courteous and explained the problem and the solution so that we could understand it. We have several rental properties and will use him for them as well. We received excellent service and would highly recommend them. Finally, an air conditioning contractor that we feel we can trust.

experience was excellent from start to finish. very knowlegeable, professional, prompt and personable. Jim came out at the exact time he said he would for my estimate and the installers were very professinal and courteous and on time as well. they found during install that my wiring from air handler to condenser was inadequite so they replaced with new wire and did not charge any extra. i would highly recommend heinz to anyone requiring service or installation of hvac systems. a+++++++++!
