Called on Monday 11/24/2014 to schedule an estimate. Ed answered the phone and stated that he installs during the day and does estimates in the afternoon between 4 and 5. He said that he could come that day. I thought that was great. I asked him to call me when he was on the way. He took down my # and address. 4pm, then 5pm came and went. No call, no show. Since he has an excellent rating on Angies list, I decided to give it another chance the next day. I called again on Tuesday 11/25 in the afternoon. Left a voice message regarding our conversation the prior day. Asked to schedule another time, possibly for Monday 12/1. I haven't received any response as of today 12/3. Very disappointing. Maybe there was a family emergency?

Great. Ward was ready to go when we needed the project done. His work was exceptionally fine. He used quality material and provided excellent workmanship. The gates are well-positioned and work perfectly. The hardware is out of reach for small people. We are thrilled !

During the process of getting an estimate Ed told me it might be 3-4 weeks. Ed was on the phone with me only 2 weeks later to schedule the install!! And it just gets better! Ed arrived on the scheduled day 10 minutes early and they quickly started to get to work after verifying the property lines. Ed uses quality product for his jobs as advertised. I didn't see less than 3 nails per board per stringer and there were even sometimes 4 nails to ensure the board stayed put. I was also impressed with the fact that they bolted boards to both sides of the house and screwed the stringers into them. But wait, there's more! The gate, possibly a very critcally weak point of a fence, was done with the described 6X6 post! Just all around happy with the work done by Ed and his assistant.

Ed was professional and provided a fair estimate compared to 3 other companies. Started on time and finished fast. Nice looking Fence, no complaints.

Ed returned my call and set up an appointment on Saturday. He sent the bid via email within by Monday. The pricing was competitive as we compared with a couple other companies and do it yourself stores. It took us a couple of weeks to get back with Ed because we needed approval from homeowners association. Once we received the approval, we called Ed and advised to go ahead. Ed told us he would order the materials and would be able to install the fence in 3 - 4 weeks. Ed called us 3 1/2 weeks later and set up installation date. He was punctual and prompt and always returned phone calls. The fence has been in place for about 4 weeks and looks great! I highly recommend this company.

After some initial scheduling delays, Ed came with his assist to replace the previous latch, installed years ago by him (it was not closing and latching properly) and to install a new gate on the north side of the house. I was glad to be home during the work because the gate was smaller than I expected (my fault for not realizing this was only a 42"). When I discussed my error with Ed and told him I wanted a gate the same size as the south gate, he was happy to put the old gate back up temporarily in order to make a 48" gate. He returned on Friday with the 48" gate and installed it promptly while removing the old wooden fence and cleaning up the area. And, to compensate for the scheduling difficulties, Ed gave me a discount off the initial quote for my inconvenience, now that is customer service! Thanks Ed!

Installation date agreed upon and they arrived at 8AM that day with truck loaded and ready to go. Worked very hard all day and did a super job. My wife and I are very happy and want to thank Ed & crew for a job well done. Looks great too. Very glad we chose Duracraft.

Ed and his team came out and installed a New PVC fence at the house. Everything went off without a hitch, from tearing out the old to putting in the New. They did an outstanding job, very clean and professional. Fence looks great and my wife and I are very happy with the results.

Ed builds the best wood board on board fence I have ever seen. Very heavy duty with 2x4 stringers and 5/8 x 6 slats. This fence is nailed and screwed together, no staples used here. Not only is the construction impressive but the fence is beautiful to look at. The fence is only as good as the installation and Ed does an outstanding job here as well. Nice tight joints, everything is level and professionally installed. There was some difficulty installing the back section of fence as there was a chain link fence immediately behind the new fence and an area covered with rock and sugar sand that complicated the installation. Ed tackled the job with total professionalism and the end result was impressive. I also want to mention that Ed?s helper, Austin, is a hard worker and has an excellent attitude...No laziness or slacking off going on here. This guy came to work and he stepped up to the challenge on this job without complaint. In my business I am obsessive about details and am a fanatic about customer service. Ed is also very detailed and I can tell from his work that he builds and installs his fences as if he were putting it in his own yard. I also want to say that Ed?s wife, Teri, answered my emails in a timely manner and kept me informed as to the installation and permitting of the fence. She made me feel I was a valued customer. I will absolutely use Ed for my next fence project without hesitation. If you want the best fence in the entire Tampa Bay area you need to call Ed at Dura Craft Fence. Thank you Ed and Austin. He and his son did an excellent job. They were skilled and efficient in their work. The quality of the fence was the best we have seen. The gate is very well built and reinforced. I would highly recommend them.

Called and left message for Ed stating that I wanted an estimate for a vinyl fence plus installation on both sides of my house with 2 gates. Never heard back from him. Left a message through Angie's List (I assume it was either sent email or fax) requesting the same thing. Again no response. Finally reached Ed, by phone, and requested the same estimate for the 3rd time. He set up an appointment with me between 4:30 - 5:30pm on 5/20. He never showed up nor did he call to reschedule or to say why he would miss our appointment. As far as I am concerned, 3 strikes and you are out. I did get good responses from Bay Area Fence and Gulf to Bay Fence.

They did a great job with the gate.

All calls were returned by Ed in a prompt manner, it is important to recognize that this is a family business and that Ed and his son perform all the work. There will be times when he cannot pickup the phone or return calls immediately, but he never failed to get back to me on the day I called him. Every step of the job went as planned, on schedule and on price. After receiving the estimate and scheduling the job I called Ed to ask him what time he was going to start so that I could meet him and make sure there were no unanswered questions on either side. He told me he had to go pick up the materials and would be at my house at 9:30. He arrived right on time, we went over any questions and I was able to go back to work within a few minutes. When working the job he only removed the amount of old fence that he could replace with the new vinyl fence before quitting for the day. The job took two days to remove and replace 220 linear feet of fence with one gate. The terrain on my property is far from level and Ed did a good job with my request of following the terrain when installing the fence. Since I have a dog I was more worried about not having gaps under the fence than the fence top being straight. Ed did a wonderful job of cleaning up any debris from the old wood fence that was removed as there were no remnants of the old fence anywhere in the yard. Ed is easy going and has no problem sharing his knowledge with you. He is a true professional who will do what it takes to make sure you are happy with his work. I would highly recommend Duracraft fence.

My new wooden fence is absolutely beautiful. I have a very large yard, and the job was completed within a day and a half. I now how two gates -- one large and one small. The professionalism, cost, and construction of the fence is absolutely unbeatable. This family-owned business has been around a long time for a reason. They're fantastic at what they do. I had another quote from a local fencing company, and not only was it far more expensive, it was much more of a hassle. I absolutely made the right choice by choosing Duracraft. I will certainly do business with them again.

Ed Tuxhorn (owner) returns calls, is courteous, punctual, efficient, tidy and all together professional. He alone handled my job from beginning to end. It's clear why he has stellar ratings on Angies's List.

It went great. Ed got right to work and did a great job. I went out to look over the progress, saw that the fence was placed in an odd spot next to the wall of the house (same place the old fence was) and Ed had no problem redoing some work to accommodate my wishes. He genuinely wanted to make sure I was happy with the way the fence looked and I appreciated that. I would use Ed again and I highly recommend his company. I should also add the Ed put a great big 6x6 in concrete to support the fence. This was a nice installation that should last for years.

Edward Tuxhorn and his son Henry pulled out the old junky fence and replaced it with a new fence. They also replaced the gate and installed a new lock. They hauled out the old fence. They did an excellent job. They are both personable and knowledgeable and answered all of our questions.

Job completed quickly and efficiently.

I left a message and a week later I am still waiting on a call to set up an estimate. Very poor business practice in my opinion.

Ed, the owner was very prompt and professional. Any concerns that we had, he immediately and courteously took care of them. In other words, he went above and beyond what most fence installers would do. I would highly recommend anyone needing a new fence, get a quote from Ed prior to having their work done by someone else.

It went very well. They kept their word and their price. They were on time and very courteous and were very careful about the neighbor's property.

There must be something going on with this company as they do not even answer the phone. I tried to reach them on 3 separate occasions with no results. Business must be fantastic. I am the third person on Angie's List with a similar problem. I will not call again.

I contacted the company by email on May 13. I received a phone call the AM of May 14 from the wife of the owner. I was told that Ed would call me that day. Ed did not call me. I followed up with another email asking for the status of the call and was provided the same excuse that the owner previously used in a response to a complaint - It is a fine balancing act when you are the owner of a small business. I'm sorry if Ed wasn't able to call you today. Be assured, he will call you as soon as he can within the next few days. Thank you for your continued patience! Clearly the owner is struggling to follow-up with prospective customers. Any contractor who can't find 5-10 minutes to return a phone call, in my experience, will be unable to complete any aspect of a project on a timely basis. Ultimately, as consumers, we want a prompt response, honest dialogue and fair pricing. Failing in the first phase of the process is the strongest indicator of other potential problems. I will look elsewhere for a fencing contractor. In fact, I received a response from another Angie's List contractor the same day I requested information and while they are also very busy, they are coming out to my house this Sunday to review the project and prepare an estimate. That is an excellent example of customer service.
