Bob did an excellent job of salesmanship. We were very happy with the proposal and cost estimate. The contract was signed in May 2010. We left Florida heading back north for the summer the beginning of June. Bob said his team would begin work soon after we left and that we should allow three months to complete the job. We did not hear anything from Bob for a couple of weeks so we called to get a status update. This was the first of many telephone calls, always initiated by us, to learn about what was going on. Each time, Bob had a different excuse for why the work hadn't begun. At one point, Bob told us that he had a crew at our place for several days, but when we contacted the management of our condo, we discovered that they had never visited even once. We increasingly became concerned that we had been ripped off. We advised Bob that we intended to come back to Florida to inspect what had been done. Demolition finally begun shortly thereafter. We did return to Florida in July and found a genuine mess, but were happy that at last the work had begun. We met with Bob and he promised to keep us informed of progress, but he never called. Over the next several months, we were the ones who had to call Bob for updates. When we did reach him, he always told us that everything was going well, but our condo property manager advised that Bob's crew was rarely at our place. We eventually told Bob that we would return right after Thanksgiving and expected that everything would be finished. He told us not to worry, because they would be done by then. We arrived back at our condo the Saturday after Thanksgiving to find things far from finished - the cabinet doors were not installed; appliances not hooked up; no backsplash; lighting not complete. Of course, Bob had a list of excuses, but by this time we had no tollerance for more excuses. We basically had to hound him over the next six weeks when they finally finished the job. Some of the material ordered was not measured properly so they had to reorder. We ended up having the cabinet door installer hook up our microwave oven. All in all, this was a very unpleasant experience. DeGeorge actually did a pretty good job and the cost was reasonable, but they were extremely slow and undependable. Because of the many delays and failure to get status updates, we would not recommend DeGeorge to do a remodeling job.

The salesmen insinuated that it would be done in a decent amount of time. The project was dragged on and on. They took 50% of the money almost immediately. It was the most unpleasant experience. I would definitely not recommend them. The people who actually did the work did a fairly decent job. The workmanship wasn’t bad. The experience with the company was awful.

This is the 2nd project that this company has done for us. Both times were wonderful buying experiences. They are neat, clean and courteous. They show up when their suppose to and work long hard days. They were a pleasure to have in our home. We feel they also provided us above average value for our purchase. We highly recommend this company.

The new hardwood flooring we had chosen when we paid our deposits was switched by the merchant to a lower grade product with many defects - and was only partly installed. The portion that was installed was improperly installed and the ends of the planks were damaged at installation. After being inspected by flooring experts [whose names I obtained from Angie's List], I've learned that the needed room for expansion was not correctly allowed, nor was the proper leveling of the floor, which is causing the warping of the flooring. Flooring for the dining room was never delivered. When I expressed my concern about this [several times] to the merchant, I was told that the shipment was lost and was being tracked by the flooring vendor's representative. Finally, he reported to me that the flooring was being held by the vendor because HIS check to them had bounced. The flooring for the dining room was never delivered, nor was any of the trim for the flooring for any of the thresholds or dining room stairnose trim. After listening to one lie after another told by Robert Miano about when, where and who would be performing our project, waiting for this job to be completed and having our home torn up for 4 months. We were physically unable continue with the never-ending farce. The same day the merchant removed the cabinets from our home--Aug. 5, we terminated the contract and requested from the merchant an itemized list of satisfactorily and completely finished work and requested that the merchant return our money for work/ materials not completed. The merchant did not respond. We have been 7 months without our kitchen. At our request, our kitchen job was inspected by a Pinellas County representative. I was told by the building inspector that Mr. Miano was in violation because had not pulled the necessary permits for our job before the job began. I have filed complaints with my Visa Company, the BBB, Pinellas County Consumer Protection, and PCCLB, local news stations and others. Our primary goal is not only to resolve this matter so that we can hire a reputable contractor to put our home back together, but also to ensure that no other consumer has to go through all the constantly evolving stress, pain and suffering caused by the irresponsible actions of DeGeorge Ceilings.

I had a problem with a couple of skylights leaking, so I called them and they came out and resolved the problem by cocking them, which worked for a couple of months. The problem was still occurring so they came out again and just replaced it. Bob, the technician who came out was very nice and knowledgeable. He never complained, he was always nice, and polite. I can't say enough good about that company. They never gave me a hard time. I will use them again and recommend them.

First it went well until we decided to use a professional tile company and local granite yard. Then we had to contact DeGeorge to get an install date. They got our appliance specs. They installed the cabinets but one area was disfunctional because the pantry was too close to the corner and it was resolved by our redesign to move a few cabinets to fit and give more space to the area w/o spending more money. They wanted $500 for an addtl 9 inch cabinet. Then the refrig would not fit into the area so they returned to remove trim. We pushed the refrig into place and it sticks out 3 inches too far. This was supposed to be a built in look. The installer cut the 27 inch panels into 24 inch panels and there was the mistake. We also have an exposed cabinet with shims underneath that show. We have called several times and now they want $1800 more to fix their mistake. The plans were incomplete as well as the design was poor. We have called and tried to meet with them to resolve this.

Communication was poor, I had to call them for an install date and they said, "Oh tomorrow". They used a subcontractor, who accidentally broke a long slab of granite. Had to wait throughout the weekend for them to come back. They did not replace dry wall behind the backsplash and when I told DeGeorge they did not care. Undermounted sink was not installed the way it was described when it was sold to me, so I have concerns it be a problem down the road.

From the time the project was started, to the time it was finished, we had nothing but delays and excuses. On more than one occasion, did the workers show up late or not show up at all. Workers came in and disassembled our ceiling without having the new ceiling pieces on hand. They were on backorder. Also, workers were dispatched to correct problems, only to show up without the proper tools or material. After the workers finished, they failed to clean up after themselves. Doors were not rehung properly. Originally, glue on the floors was not removed. Tile pieces were left in the yard, etc. We would not recommend them.

DeGeorge Ceilings In. performed only the measuring for estimates. They failed to perform any of the work detailed in our contract dated 1/27/6 and are not licensed to do some of it in accordance with the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulations. Robert T. Miano, the owner of DeGeorge Ceilings, Inc. refuses to refund our money even though no work other than estimates was done. He more than doubled the original quote from $20,000 per unit to more than $48,000. Robert Miano forced us to to retain legal representation and continuesto refuse to refund us our $12,000 plus all the costs associated with this action totaling to about $20,000 and rising. Based on my experiences with this company, I believe strongly that we are victims of fraudulent and deceptive practices.

We paid $12,000 on 1/27/06 to remodel a unit (quoted $24,000)& quoted $20,000 to remodel 31 addl. base units. Our bank requires a detailed estimate for financing & copy of the contractor's license & proof of insurance. On 3/15/06 we received a "revised" estimate from Robert Miano quoting $48,875 per base unit instead of $20,000 initially agreed upon. DeGeorge Ceilings and Robert Miano, are not licensed for this work and no work whatsoever was performed. We began asking for a refund on 4/6/06. On 4/20/06 we received a letter from Miano suggesting he keep our $12,000 for future projects. We declined and demanded a refund. Miano has refused to return any of our calls since 3/15/06. He did send us a threatening extortion letter dated 5/21/06 demanding that we permit him to keep our money or he will sue us for "lost profits." THEY NEVER DID ANY WORK & WE ARE ENTITLED TO A REFUND! RUN FROM THIS UNLICENSED, UNETHICAL COMPANY AND IT'S OWNER AS FAST AS YOU CAN.

TOOK ME SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO GET THEM TO THE JOB. THEN I WAS PROMISED A BID ON SEVERAL OCCASION WHICH NEVER CAME, SO FINALLY I HAD TO SELECT ANOTHER CONTRACTOR. THIS WASTED TIME THAT I COULD HAVE BEEN GETTING SOMEONE ELSE'S BID. I THINK EVERYONES TIME IS IMPORTANT AND ITS VERY DISRESPECTFUL TO WASTE IT!

WHEN GIVEN A 2 HOUR WINDOW FOR THE ESTIMATOR TO SHOW, WE REQUESTED A CALL 30 MINUTES BEFORE THE ESTIMATORS ARRIVAL SO THAT MY HUSBAND COULD COME HOME FROM WORK, BUT THEY IGNORED THAT. ESTIMATOR NEVER INTRODUCED HIMSELF. HE KEPT TRYING TO SELL ME A NEW CEILING, HE WANTED TO SELL US THE RETILING OF THE SHOWER AND PUT IN A NEW FLOOR, ETC. WHEN IT BECAME CLEAR TO HIM THAT WE JUST WANTED THEM TO DO THE CEILING WORK THEY WEREN'T REALLY INTERESTED AND QUOTED US AN OUTRAGEOUS PRICE. THEY DIDN'T BREAK IT DOWN INTO MATERIALS AND LABOR COSTS. ESTIMATOR HAD TO GO OUT TO HIS VEHICLE AND CALL HIS MANAGER TO GET A QUOTE. THEY WANTED $1332 AND ALL THE OTHER ESTIMATES WERE UNDER $400.

EXCELLENT COMPANY - THEY DO IT ALL - AND KNOW ALL OF THE KEY PLAYERS. ASK AND IF THEY DO NOT PROVIDE, KNOW WHO WILL AND WILL ASSIST IN GETTING WHAT YOU NEED. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND GREAT MANAGEMENT TEAM. EXTREMELY PLEASED WITH OVERALL QUALITY AND WORKMANSHIP. ALWAYS PERFORM IN TIMELY MANNER

UPON RECEIVING A QUOTE FROM THE OWNER, ROBERT, HE HAD ONE OF HIS EMPLOYEES, WAYNE, COME OUT THAT AFTERNOON TO START THE JOB. WAYNE WAS EXCEPTIONAL AT HIS WORK AND HE TOOK GREAT PRIDE AND CARE WITH MY NEW HOME. HIS EXPERTISE IS AMAZING! WAYNE REMOVED MY OLD CARPETS, PRIOR TO SCRAPING OFF ALL OF THE POPCORN ON MY CEILINGS, AND ASKED IF HE COULD DONATE THEM TO THE CHURCH, TO BE SENT TO HAITI. I WAS ASTONISHED MOST COMPANIES JUST LEAVE THE MESS AND CONTINUE ON, IT WAS A BLESSING TO HAVE SUCH A HELPFUL AND KNOWLEDGEABLE EMPLOYEE. WAYNE TEXTURIZED THE CEILINGS WITH A NEW KNOCK-DOWN EFFECT, REPLACED DRYWALL WHERE THE MEDICINE CABINETS WERE, AND RETEXTURIZED. DANIEL DE GEORGE ACCOMPANIED ROBERT DURING THE INITIAL QUOTE AND EVEN GAVE ME A COMPETITIVE QUOTE ON RECARPETING MY HOME. I ALREADY HAD A QUOTE, BUT HE CAME BACK AND BEAT IT. THIS COMPANY IS WONDERFUL AND THE WORK WAS EXCEPTIONALLY COMPLETED. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY - VERY COMPETITIVE!!!!

CRAFTSMANSHIP, QUALITY OF WORK COMPLETE, AND WORKER'S CLEANLINESS/PROFESSIONALISM/COURTESY IS AN A+++. THE OFFICE STAFF, SALESMAN, AND OWNER TO MY REGRETS RATE A SOLID 'F'. MY RECOMMENDATION WOULD BE MAKE SURE IT'S IN THE CONTRACT BECAUSE INTEGRITY OF THE STAFF, SALESMAN, AND OWNER DOES NOT EXIST. THE ACTUAL WORKERS ARE OUTSTANDING. MY ISSUE WITH DEGEORGE CEILINGS AND OWNER BOB MIANO WAS THE 4 WEEK DELAY! I ISSUED THEM A DEPOSIT CHECK FOR $1395 ON 4-8-2004 WAS TOLD INSTALLATION WOULD BE TUESDAY. BEFORE LEAVING CHUCK SAID INSTALLATION WOULD BE IN ONE WEEK AS THEY WERE OUT OF THE FIBER OPTIC PACKAGE. DEPOSIT CHECK CLEARED 4-14. APRIL 30TH I WAS TOLD THAT I'M NOT IN THE COMPUTER AND WOULD I LIKE TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT.

WILL USE DEGEORGE FOR INSTALLATION OF DOME CEILING BUT NOT KITCHEN REMODEL. ESTIMATOR HAD NO IDEAS FOR KITCHEN SPACE IMPROVEMENTS AND REBUTED THOSE I REQUESTED. THE COMPANY THAT WAS SELECTED FOR THAT WORK ACCEPTED MY IDEAS AND IMPROVED ON THEM; THEY SUCCESSFULLY INSTALLED WHAT DE GEORGE SAID WOULD NOT WORK.

When I first arrived here, I hired De George Ceilings based on a referral from a neighbor. Over the past year, I have used them to install a dome kitchen ceiling; wall & floor tile for our kitchen and tiled our lanai, which they had to strip the old carpeting and place new tiles down. They were extremely helpful to us in selecting the perfect tiles for our kitchen wall & floor. Every time we have used DeGeorge, we always received prompt, professional, pleasant and efficient workers. They always stood by their estimate; which was very reasonable for the services provided. We are very pleased with the appearance and ease of maintenance.

I COMPARED PRICES AROUND TOWN AND THEY WERE NOT ONLY CHEAPER BUT OFFERED MORE SELECTION.
