We entered the store and told the sales clerk what we were looking for. She was somewhat helpful and attentive at first. Another client walked in and she immediately left us and attended to the other client with whom she had apparently been working. My husband and I were left with questions and no one to answer them. We waited patiently, looking at tile until she finished with the other customer and came back to us. Any questions we had were met with clipped, short answers at that point and she kept looking at her watch. We left because it was obvious she just wanted to close. We weren't even in our car, when we saw her coming out the store and leaving. It was 15 minutes earlier than the advertised closing time. In our opinion, even if it was past closing time, the sales person should have locked the door and continued to help us. That's just good customer service. We don't shop where we get poor customer service and we purchased the tile from another store.
Description of Work: My husband and I were looking for tile for our bathroom renovations.

Paul is a real craftsman. He took the time to install a difficult oval cut below the archway and mapped out the black granite diamond pattern beautifully. Not only did he pay attention to detail, but he took the time to ensure a small grout line. He also accurately cut the bottom of the baseboards where needed to make sure all the tiles snugly fit together. In the bathroom, he carefully chose tiles next to one another that best fit the pattern and color scheme I wanted. Some tiles varied in shade and pattern from one another. So placement was crucial to the overall effect. When Paul left to go on vacation, Mark Kirby stepped in for him to seal the floor so we weren't inconvenienced. Mark also agreed to replace a scratched tile at no cost. He made sure all our needs and concerns were addressed immediately. He really takes good care of his customers. I would definitely recommend him for any tile job you might have.
Description of Work: Installed porcelain tile in the bathroom, trimmed baseboards to accommodate the tile, replaced the toilet, and created a black and a white diamond pattern in the master bedroom vanity area. This job required clipping each corner of each tile and then inserting a granite diamond between the tiles, with a total of 23 granite diamonds used, in a complicated pattern.

They did excellent work. I have used them for two jobs; they have done flooring for me and I was very happy with it. I also had backsplash tile put in and they came back another time to do that. They were prompt, I did think the price was a little on the higher side for the backsplash, but, for the flooring price was excellent.

I went into the showroom with the intention of tiling my kitchen, foyer, and entryway and possibly remodeling a bathroom. The person sitting behind the desk was more interested in surfing the internet than assisting me. There are many types of tile on display and I asked her to explain the difference and she said "they are basically all the same." I asked her for some pictures to view some of their work and to see get some ideas and she handed me a book and said most of it :was not in stock anymore." She then proceeded to go sit behind the desk and surf the internet. I was extremely disappointed with my experience there, the customer service was very poor, and if you are looking for some assistance with a remodeling or some ideas and good customer service, this is definitely not the place to go. I left the store and she didn't even ask if I had any questions or needed anything. I was quite dissapointed since others on Angie's List rated so this company high. SO I will keep looking and spend my $$$ elsewhere.

Countryside Italian Tile is a fantastic company to do business with. Mark Kirby is friendly, professional, flexible and courteous. He was extremely patient with me through numerous times of indecision and especially when the original tile I picked out was no longer available. His crew (Gordon) always went the extra mile when asked and performed top-notch quality work. He was always on time and cleaned up thoroughly every single time.
Description of Work: Countryside Italian Tile coordinated the remodeling of my guest bathroom. They removed the tile and wall board to replace orginal tub, scheduled the plumber to perform the removal and owner supplied replacement, removed a mauve strip of tile in the shower, mauve towel holders and a soap dish in addition to installing new owner supplied shower doors. Also removed a 3.5 gallon toilet and replaced it with owner supplied 1.5 gallon efficiency toilet, removed old tile floor and replaced it with new 18" tile, in addition to replacing the crown molding with 1/4 round that was missing due to previous vanity being installed. In addition to the bathroom tile, Countryside Tile also agreed to change one damaged tile in the kitchen and to clean an stain-proof the tile floor (black tile/white grout). Being thrown in as a nice extra is the installation of owner supplied litello on the backsplash above the kitchen counter. Gordon started to install but realized that we probably wouldn't have enough to go around the counters. We put out heads together and came up with 2" square spacer tiles in-between the bars. I haven't seen the final product yet but i'm excited and think it will look great!

MARK KIRBY is the ultimate professional, delivers UNBELIEVABLE customer service, and as far as I'm concerned a leading expert in his profession! If you pick any other company besides this one, you are a fool. Mark took the time to explain "in professional detail" every option that I had for the tile work to be performed. He was patient in educating me with ALL my questions regarding the service prior to sending anyone over. When I say he would be scheduled and on time, this is an understatement. His punctuality with the crew and follow up was impeccable. Mark kept me well informed with the time table and what parts of the job would be taking place. By the way, Gordon who laid the tile is an artist! My wife and I will be enjoying a lifetime of extraordinary pleasure! COUNTRYSIDE, thank you, thank you, thank you! You are truly the best!

Outstanding! We began our decision process a few months ago and worked with Mark Kirby, the owner, to come up with the final solution. Mark was extremely responsive - in fact everyone we worked with at Countryside made this a pleasant experience. They are all dedicated to the customer, which you don't always find today. Paul Tuttle did an outstanding job from start to finish on both the ceramic and hardwood installations. He removed ceramic tile and replaced it with new porcelain tile and replaced carpet with Brazilian Walnut engineered hardwood flooring. We were extremely pleased with the final product - Paul takes such pride in his work and as a result of his skills and dedication to his work, we have a home we can be extremely proud of for years to come. He is wonderful! I would recommend that you use Countryside for both tile and hardwood installations.

You would be A FOOL to use anyone else! Mark had done my floors which are perfect. This was a redo of a shower installed by another tile company three years ago that was a mess (see my review). Mark immediately identified the problem and explained the right way to do the job. Then Paul did the work. Talk about a perfectionist! From leveling the floor to pre-pitching the shower pan to installing the vapor barrier to setting each tile so that it was level, flat and plumb, he did all you could ask and more. He was also super clean, prompt and hard-working. I got more than aesthetics. I got construction I can have faith in. If I had any questions, I'd call Mark and he'd explain everything. Do they cost a bit more than some other companies? Yes. However, I originally used a less-expensive company, and that was money thrown away since it all had to be redone. If you saw what Paul did and how he did it, you'd see why the cost is well worth it. Mark even has a lifetime guarantee that he stands behind! I wish every contractor could be like Countryside Tile.

OUTSTANDING. It had gotten to the point that I was almost afraid to walk to the back bedroom or use its bath, because the hollow-sounding tiles sounded so bad when I walked on them. And the "crunching" tiles (I guess that was the underside of a loose tile crunching the glue) drove me up a wall. It's all fixed now. Technician was especially personable.
Description of Work: Inject a floor tile repair on about 75 tiles that had come loose and hollow sounding, or even "crunched" when you walked on them. Repair involved drilling four holes in the grout on the four sides of a bad tile, injecting a prorietary material, then regrouting the holes.

We went to four other places before deciding on Countryside. The initial reason we decided to go with Countryside was there reputation in Angie s List. Mark came by several times to deliver different samples so we could see how the tiles would look. He also made several suggestions, one of which we decided to use in our design. His experience with tiles was a big benefit for our project. Kevin was meticulous in installing the two different types of tiles that we decided to go with. Before starting with the different layers, he would stop and make sure we were satisfied with what he was going to do. He worked to our specifications and the results speak for itself. While it was difficult to compare the prices between the different companies, since we were choosing different tiles and even though Countryside s quote was the highest, my wife and I are very glad we chose Countryside. I would not hesitate one second to recommend this company.
Description of Work: We had a backsplash installed in our kitchen. Mark helped us with the design and Kevin did the installation. The project, while not large, involved two different types of tiles, ceramic tiles and stone inserts and pencils. The layout involved a bottom layer of horizontal ceramic tiles with a stone pencil above it, followed by diagonal layers of ceramic tiles with 5 stone inserts embedded into the design.

I called a plumbing company for an estimate to replace a shower pan.During the call, this company outlined what work they would do & suggested discussing the other pieces of the work with Countryside Tile.I reviewed their information & scheduled an appointment.Mark arrived & we discussed the job.He thought the work could be done without impacting the tub & suggested options for the shower including partially retiling the shower. The estimate was received the next day.We picked Countryside Tile to perform the work.Once we selected the tile,a slight adjustment was made to the estimate because of the tile we picked ($200).The work was started within a week.Arek did a great job.By the end of the first day,the new shower pan was installed (by the plumbing co) & the damage was visible to the wallboard and the frame.Areak did everything from fixing the frame around the shower, installing the new cement board, mudding, tile & grout. We would highly recommend Countryside Tile. They did a great job.
Description of Work: We wanted an estimate to repair a leaking shower. Based on a home inspection, we knew that there was damage to the walls (not sure of the extent), the shower pan was probably the source of the problem, the moisture damage was visible looking underneath the jetted tub and the carpet showed signs of water damage. We knew the shower would need re-tiling and had the potential to include the jetted tub next to the shower depending on the extent of the damage.

You aren't going to find anyone better to install your tile. I had a nightmare situation: a house full of wood flooring installed incorrectly by another company (see report on Hardwood Specialists) that had to come out due to mold. Even though I had legal action pending against that company, Mark took on my job, helped me through the other company's inept removal of the old floor, then installed the new tile floor beautifully. I love it! Any question I had was answered, any concern was addressed. Mark is an expert and brought up things I hadn't even considered (''Do you want this centered at the door or at the far window?''). Yet he listened to what I wanted. His installers are like old-world craftsmen. Even after the job was done and he was paid, he continued to work with me in areas like cleaning that I had questions about. Couple all this with their lifetime guarantee and you can't go wrong. The only thing I was upset about was that I hadn't used them in the first place.
Description of Work: Installed rectified porcelain ceramic tile in entire house. Leveled floor previous to installation, removed built in desk, drywalled wall areas to correct mistakes of previous flooring company, installed baseboards.

This company is by far the best when it comes to the installation of tile. They took two extra days installing our tile due to the fact that there were some foundation cracks they wanted to seal so that the tile would not be affected. They let us change backsplash tile even after the initial tile was ordered. Also, they came out to touch up grout after we had carpet installed. They are incredibly professional. Mark Kirby the owner always returned our calls and answered our questions. When Mark wasn't available, Marcus and/or Theresa answered our questions. They were great to deal with. Lastly, the installers Arik and Glen, were excellent. They were the cleanest tile installers I have ever seen. They respect your property, clean up everything and they never stop working. Again I will say, this company is by far the best when it comes to the installation (and removal) of carpet.

TAKE PICTURES OF THE INTERIOR OF YOUR HOUSE BEFORE HIRING THIS CO. They hung a work light on our plantation blinds and melted them (see report on Florida Shutters), broke a ceiling light & electrical box, broke a pair of speaker wires, & scratched my subwoofer. They discounted the bill for the above damages, however, they did not properly level the slab area where the quarry tile was removed, & cost me an additional 100 SQ. FT. of tile that I paid for. Kevin and/or his son were responsible for the blunders. Although the tile was laid properly (wall cuts and grout lines were relatively even), the stress my family & I were put under, and the micro-management necessary to ensure a good job done, and discovering the damages does not warrant recommending this company install tile at $3.50/SQF, plus the cost of the tile. Mark Kirby doubted some of the discovered damages, and even forgot that his firm removed our carpet. YOU ARE BETTER OFF HIRING A TILE MAN AT $2.50/SQ. FT & MANAGING THE JOB.
Description of Work: Install 1000 SQ. FT. of tile. Remove old carpet, quarry tile & linoleum. Lifetime warranty on the grout sealer.

I AM TRULY SORRY THAT THE MEMBERS WERE NOT PLEASED WITH OUR COMPANY AS WE TRY TO PLEASE ALL EQUALLY. THE SHUTTER, LIGHT AND SPEAKER WIRES WERE AN ACCIDENT AND WERE TAKEN CARE OF IMMEDIATELY. IT WAS VERY DARK AND A LOT OF FURNITURE IN THE HOUSE AND VERY HARD TO WORK AROUND. AS FOR THE EXTRA TILE IN THE FOYER WE DID NOT WASTE ANY WE REUSED THEM AND THEY WERE NOT UNEVEN (IT WAS THE CUT TILE WHICH WERE NOT THINSETTED TO THE FLOOR YET AND SHE THOUGHT THEY WERE INSTALLED UNEVEN) IT WAS THE PATTERN THAT THE MEMBER WANTED TO CHANGE. THE TILE HAD VARIATIONS IN COLOR SHADING AND WE CHANGED THEM TO SUITE HER EYE. I NEVER STATED I DOUBTED THE DAMAGES, I STATED IT WAS HARD TO BELIEVE ALL THIS COULD HAPPEN ON ONE JOB AS IT HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE AND KEVIN HAS BEEN WITH US FOR 16 PLUS YEARS. ANOTHER COMPANY HAS DONE WORK IN MY HOME AND MANY OF OUR CUSTOMERS AND I HAVE NEVER HAD ONE COMPLAINT ONLY PRAISE. AGAIN I AM SORRY IF THE MEMBERS WERE NOT PLEASED I ASSURE YOU WE ALL DID EVERYTHING IN OUR POWER TO PLEASE THEM. THE OTHER REPORTS WILL SPEAK FOR THEMSELVES.
