Description of Work: My pool has never looked better. It is clean and obviously the chemicals are correct because the water is clear and light blue. The serviceman called me about a broken part on my pool cleaner. He not only told me which part was broken, and the price to repair it, but he asked me if I wanted him to repair it. The pool was vacuumed, chemical adjusted, filter and baskets cleaned, and the pool cleaner net was emptied.

+ -1 moreI have never met them, but so far they have been great. They are honoring both coupons, so I get half off. They are also honoring $25 because it was so bad they always charged that. I have had pool services before, and my pool is looking great. They are prompt, and their price is reasonable. I am really pleased with them. Unlike a lot of others, they use chemicals for the pool service.
Description of Work: The personnel from Bayside Pool Services came out and cleaned up my pool.

Description of Work: We called Marty because our pool heater did not work. He came promptly to give an estimate. He could have told us the unit needed replacing, but he was very honest and said that the unit was not too old, was still good, but needed a part. He did not work on that particular brand, so he called a friend, B. J. Bowling at Tropigas of Florida in St. Petersburg. BJ called us to make an appointment, came promptly, and repaired the heater at a very reasonable cost. Last year another person from a yellow pages listed company (before we joined Angie's List) told us the heater was old, outdated, and that parts were not available. He estimated it would cost 1500 - 2000 to replace it. I am very grateful for Marty's honesty and fairness. He said he likes to treat customers the way he would like to be treated. It's wonderful to know a contractor who is reliable and does not take advantage of others Marty just gave an opinion and did not charge for his visit.

+ -1 moreMy pool motor burnt-out on a Wednesday and I called a couple of companies to check on prices and when they could do the job. I gave Marty the okay to do the job that afternoon. Unbelievably he came out at 8:00 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning to get my motor fixed as he thought I might want to use the pool on the holiday. He was that quiet doing the job, that I didn't even know he had completed the job until the pool automatically turned on at 9:00 a.m. WOW - fantastic service.

+ -1 moreThey were punctual and courteous. The pool continued to leak after the re-marciting so they sent out a leak detection specialist. The leak specialist found and repaired a leak by the pool light. I had to pay an additional fee for the leak specialist's work. Within three months the crack was back. Now just about one year later the pool is leaking as much as it did before.
Description of Work: The pool was cracked and had a severe leak. Bayside Pool repaired the crack and reinforced it with "staples", then re-marcited the pool.

He warned us that we may have a leak in the pipes or drain, and if that was the case he would refer us to someone who specializes in that. We did end up having to call the other company, but I still thought $85 was reasonable for the service he performed which did slow the leak considerably.

+ -1 moreFor the first few weeks, Marty came and cleaned the pool to ensure that he had sorted the algae problem, then passed it over to one of his staff. I have now had their services for 3 months and I am very happy with the job they are doing. They turn up 'like clockwork' at the same time each week and seem to take more time/pride in ensuring that the pool is clean etc than other companies I've had. Additionally, one Sunday I made a mistake and inadvertently moved the wrong valves and drained my spar. I called Marty for some advice, not only did he answer on a Sunday afternoon, but within 30 minutes was at my house fixing the problem. To my amazement he didn't even charge me.
Description of Work: In August, I was looking for weekly pool service after my previous pool company were unable to deal with a recurring algae problem and only seemed to spend about a minute or so 'cleaning' my pool each week. I called a few companies who gave various prices, but Marty at Bayside came round the same day I called to take a look at the pool before quoting as I had said it was quite large. He gave me a quote of $100 per week for full service and was very knowledgeable, which gave me confidence in the company.

+ -1 moreI look forward to finally meeting Marty and having him do more work. The pump is working flawlessly, and without the small leak that was there in the first place. I know that I have found a pool service to put my confidence in.
Description of Work: I pulled a dumb stunt and neglected to turn off the pool pump before switching to backflush. WHOOSH! The pump housing split from the pressure. I called Marty for a pump replacement, and he told me that replacement may not be necessary; he would have to loot at it. He went out to the house, and verified that indeed it only needed the housing replaced, and that the pump was still fairly new. I gave him the OK to do the work, and he replaced the housing and a leaky gasket that he found while doing the job. He did all this before he ever met me! We communicated only over the phone.

He gave me the option of by-passing the heater system if we did not use it frequently, and also gave me the name and number of the man he uses to install and repair pool heating systems. He did not charge me a service call when I decided to try and have the heater fixed. I would definitely call him again for any sort of issue with my pool!

I even called a few days later about a leak in something else and he came right out and replaced a washer. I am quite pleased and decided I want Marty to take care of my pool regularly.
Description of Work: The pool was in bad shape from neglect for several months. Marty came out with a pump, cleaned the silt up, clarified it, replaced a filter, and noticed a basket leaking so he fixed that too.
