Description of Work: On May 24, Albright Roofing replaced the roof on my home - shingle and flat roof. From the original estimate to the completion of the job, I could not have been more pleased. Representatives of the company answered all my questions and complied with my wishes on various aspects of the job. Would definitely recommend them to anyone needing a new roof or repairs.

Description of Work: I had my family room roof replaced. The office staff were very friendly and helpful in answering my questions as well as the owner who came to my home for the estimate. The work crew were efficient as well as professional and everything was cleaned up when they finished the job.

Description of Work: Once I paid Angies $299 for the roof time tune up by Albright, in a few days two young men from Albright showed up to inspect my cement tile roof. One waited while I and the other older man went up my stairs to the first story roof. He walked the roof and made a list of he says 5 things needing done, but he did not give me a copy of his list. He mentioned one item as a copper vent pipe that was leaking, he mentioned the electric service mast as possibility leaking. It all took 5 minutes. They left. |I waited a few days and no one appeared or called. I guess a week passed then I received a email from the V.P. of Albright saying my roof cannot be tuned up as it needed completely rebuilt, therefore ask for a refund from Angies. I did and immediately received the refund to my CC. Then I started doing research on roof repair. I download page after page of how to and don't do and what to look for in a roofing contractor, what to ask him, etc. I then went to Home Depot and ask for a roof inspection. I went home and searched Google for Home Depot roofing complaints from St. Pete area. 72 irate citizens wrote pages of bitter, vile, screaming and crying complaints of how Home Depot replaced their roofs, the roof started leaking in a short time, but HD would not return their calls. I cancelled HD. I also started with the names of local roofers and searching for complaints to the point the list disillusioned me completely. Since Duncan has installed my concrete time roof in 1994, it has leaked and leaked and my cousin patched and patched over the years. On the way to Bay Pines VA MC, a man was standing on the island of Park St. and Tyrone begging for money. I pulled up and handed him $20 and as the light was red, I ask him if he knew roofing, where he replied he has 35 years experience. I told him to get in. He went with me to the VA and waited until I kept my appointment. Then I took him home. Yes he is a alcoholic, 53 years old. I stopped on the way and bought him 2 cases of Bud equal to 48 cans plus cigarettes and food. He inspected my roof and told me my biggest problem was the valleys and the roof vents, and he knew a way to divert the rain to different areas of the roof so no one valley drain would be overwhelmed and hold water back. Then he found a leak just by walking upon it as he could bounce; it was spongy and the timber under was rotted out. So it went. He then to proceeded to customize my roof as he years of experience told him. It turns out that the Duncan short-cuted the job, sold me tile no long made, used lightweight underlayment, and the list goes on and on. He worked by himself the whole job, he did not want help. In all his years he said he hated roofing companies as he had to watch and participate in thousands of roofing jobs and NO roofing contractor can be trusted, they are all crooks and gang bang the job cutting any corner they can to save labor and material. WOW! I conclude that Albright had no intension to tune up my roof, but to sell me a complete new roof and again I would suffer with leaks. I joined Angies to hedge my bet on a roof, price was not the issue, I wanted someone that would step in against the roofer if I later started getting leaks from their gang-bang el speedo job. I have seen this man's custom job, and I have spent on food and beer and paid him labor every day. At 74 years old, I do not want to die and leave my young wife with a leaking roof. END
