 + -1 moreAlbright provided the best cost estimate and took the time to explain different option for shingles, underlayment and repairs. All appointments were kept on schedule and they were quick to provide followup information when required. The work crew did an excellent job and completed most all the work in one day. After the old roof was removed the forman provided a tour of the roof to explain all planned work and repairs. Followup questions on future cleaning of the new roof were were quickly supplied by the office staff. I have no complaints and would highly recommend them to anyone needing any roof repairs.

Someone came within a few days, inspected the area and told me it would only need a minor patch and quoted a fair price. The work was done the next day while I was at work.  + -1 moreMet with Tom the owner in May. Very professional. Good price given. Stacy easy to work with. Tile removal took one day. Very little mess. Workers were fast and efficient. Kept our property in good shape. Went above and beyond to get debris out of our pool. Took 2-3 days to apply new tile. Ran short of the new tile. Took about 1 and a half weeks to re-order and finish. Roof looks great. Only one small communication problem with determining whether the city had passed us on the roofing inspection. Took almost a month to hear back from Albright that it had passed.
Description of Work: Removed old tile roof and replaced it with a new tile roof.

They do not subcontract and can be in and out the same day on an average sized roof - and they have a new improved policy on background checks for their employees to insure the safety of the homeowner. Tom was a well-spoken person and the office staff ("David") provided rapid response time to messages and my request for an estimate. My choice to go with another reputable roofer was based on a couple hundred dollars of savings alone. I otherwise had absolutely no problem with choosing Albright as my roofing contractor.

 + 1 moreTom and his crew did a great job. The guys worked a long day 8:30 am - 8:00 pm and did a great job to get it completed in one day. I also wanted to commend them as when they were done other than the sign in front of the house and the new roof there was no signs we had the house re roofed. They cleaned up the yard and went above and beyond. This is now the second time I've used you guys and wanted to let you know I was thoroughly satisfied.
Description of Work: Complete Tear off and re-shingle, replace rotten decking, soffit and fascia, install diversion spicket behind chimney, repair flat roof on garage, install soffit vent on garage.

 + 0 moreI am very pleased with the job Albright did. We had a leak in a tricky "dead valley" section of our shingle roof. Albright came out for an estimate promptly and gave us an estimate way under other roofers who looked at it. Some roofers even refused to give me an estimate because they didn't think they could fix it. Albright was unfazed. They were back less than a week later to direct the rain run-off more directly into the downspout. Albright guaranteed the repair for one year. The work they did helped, but it still leaked at the next rain storm. They were back the next week and sealed up the edges better. Next rain storm, still leaked. Albright was back the next week and found the water was getting under the soffit at a section of roof that was inclined. They sealed it up and it's been dry through several rain storms since then. Albright was much cheaper than other estimates and not at all deterred by the tricky area. They were always punctual and came out to the house soon after I called. They honored their 1-year guarantee without hesitation. I wish it hadn't taken 3 tries, but it was a tricky job. I strongly recommend them for roof work - very professional, prompt, and honest.
Description of Work: Albright repaired a leak we had in a tricky "dead valley" area in our shingle roof.

 + -1 moreEstimate done on time with appointment. Was happy with amount since it was about half what another company wanted. Signed contract. I called 3 times over the next following few weeks to find out when they were coming. First call was answered and I was told I would be called in the next few days. Called again the following week, left voice mail. No response. Called the following week and left voice mail. 20 minutes later the bell rang and the repair crew was here. Luckily I was home since no one told me they were coming. Went over job with the men. Phone rang 30 minutes later from Albright asking me if I had a question. I stated "No but it would have been nice if I was told the men were coming today." The gentleman on the other end was confused and asked me if I was getting and estimate. I said "NO your men are here doing the repair." He asked me what their names were and I told him "I don't really know, but since you sent them I would hope you should know who you sent." I was not feeling warm and fuzzy and had to say goodbye. I had to leave for a doctor's appointment and the job was done when I returned. Looks good and no more leak. I did complain to them over the phone on how all this went and they have appologized many times and said this is not normal for their company.

 + -1 moreOverall, the service was reasonably prompt although if the leak had been severe, I wouldn't have waited two days for an estimate. The only negative comment I have is that the owner stated that his office would call to schedule an appointment to perfom the repair work the following week. Unfortunately, there was no call, they just showed up three days later. My wife heard loud noises in the house and found two roofers working up on the roof. My wife heard no knock on the door or doorbell ring.
Description of Work: My roof began leaking after two days of heavy rain. I called for an estimate of repair and was scheduled for an inspection two days later. The company's owner showed up for the inspection on time. Within a few minutes after climbing up on the roof, he reported that several nails had pushed through the shingles in the area of the leak and stated that pulling the nails and applying roofing cement would solve the problem. Two roofers performed the work and after several rain storms, there have not been any leaks.

 + -1 moreAfter seeig the invoice and the vast differences in what the estimate/contract stated and the invoice as well as the unfinished portion of my roof, I sought the help of an experienced contractor. The company initially refused to talk to the contractor, stating the contract was not with him. The contractor pointed out that the size wood/plywood they included in the estimate would more than cover the $500 in wood they charged me. The contractor attempted to negotiate that they at least cover the addition in a coating and they refuse to do that. Tar still covers the skylight. The contractor asked for proof of their insurance and they said they had provided that to me- absolutely false. The contractor requested the names of the men doing the job and work comp insurance as proof that the company did not put me at risk with my homeowner's insurance. Again, they refuse to do that as well. Use great caution with this company- you won't get what you bargain for or expect. I will be filing a complaint with the licensing board. UPDATE: Tom came by this morning, August 4th, after we had finally come to an agreement. He came into my house, with just myself and my three young children present. He began to complain to me about what I had posted here previously, I told him my evaluation was fair and that we had just agreed to "agree" and get on with business and stated I thought that was why he was here this morning. He asked for the money but I told him after my roof was completed he would be paid in full. He then came back a few minutes later with a new contract he had written, the price was as agreed upon but the specifics were not. He LEFT off the addition again and any warranty for his company's work for the addition. I refused to sign it and he started criticizing me in front of my young children and IN our house, that I had "gone way over the top with my complaints of him on Angies List." Use great CAUTION WITH HIM IF YOU ARE A SINGLE WOMAN. He was angry and used our compromise as a way to vent towards me, in front of young children and in our house. I am complaining to the licensing board and also with Justice and Consumer Services. (My ten year old son said, "that man has issues.")
Description of Work: Tom Albright, the owner personally gave me the estimate, and I believe strongly, took advantage of a single mom. I used Albright because of the excellent reviews on Angies List. This was a huge mistake and has been extremely stressful. Tom told me that to fix the leaks in my roof it would be about $500 and the roof would have to be replaced in a few years. I then opted to have the entire roof replaced and asked for an estimate to replace the whole roof. He said sure and on the spot, gave me an estimate. The estimate stated it was for the shingled roof and did NOT exclude anything. Neither did the estimate give the square footage of the roof to be replaced, so anyone looking at the estimate/contract would reasonabley believe the estimate was for the entire roof- that is what I requested and contracted for. I also contracted for a "solatube" in the hallway which they installed for $400. When it rained and they had to stop the job they covered the unfinished roof with a tarp that had tar all over it and it left big tar marks on the solatube that his workers told me they were unable to clean off. When I inspected the roof, on the way up the ladder his worker asked why I didn't have the whole roof done. I was shocked, to say the least. "I did!!", I exclaimed. "No senora," he said, "the office said not the addition so we didn't do it." When I got to the top of the roof, sure enough, there was the brand new solatube skylight covered in tar and the addition was not touched. The worker told me to contact the office as he just does what he is told. Additionally, Tom assured me that the price of the wood to repair the roof in places would be approximately $100 and this was estimated for and included in the price of the roof. The contract showed the price for additional wood but did not include the size of the wood required for my roof which was built in 1964 and is not made of large plywood squares. I kept asking about the cost of additional wood or an estimate about how much wood would in fact need to be replaced. I was told quite clearly that I would be told if wood beyond what was in the estimate would need to be replaced. When I received the invoice, it included an additional $500 in wood replaced, done without either consulting me, showing me where it was replaced, or even showing me the new wood put up. Additionally, I am now told it is standard in the roofing industry to take pictures of the wood replaced. There are no pictures- just the word of the company that they replaced this wood, and at a cost that exceeds the estimate.

 + -1 moreI had 4 estimates from companies before I selected this company. Their estimate was the lowest. The second cheapest estimate was double the price of this company. All the others were much more higher as well. I really liked the salesman from Albright. He did a much more thorough inspection than any of the other companies. They were able to do the work within 2 hours. They were very professional, and I could hardly tell that they were there. They did a great job, and I was overall very pleased with the work they did.

They did it all in one day, which was really good. They had a better warranty. They were just really, really good. They had 14 guys on my roof at one time. It was right after a tornado, so I thought they would be busy with other people, but they showed up first thing in the morning.

 + -1 moreWe used Albright Roofing primarily based on reviews from Angie's List. We have been pleased with the results. Albright was not the cheapest bidder, but we felt their product was better and worth the extra cost. We will recommend them to our friends and would use them again if necessary. The crew showed up right on schedule and completed the job within the stated time. They cleaned up each day and kept us advised of their progress. The work crew was well organized, each man knew exactly his task and completed that task. Follow up inspections gave good points to the workmanship and we have had no subsequent problems. Our only concern has been with the office personnel. We found that we had to make the calls to verify when the crew would appear (2 possible work dates had been provided), when the inspector was scheduled, etc. We had also requested digital copies of the photographs the foreman took to submit to our insurance company, and we have yet to receive them, though we have discussed this with Albright's on several occasions. The office staff does a good job as far as getting the permits, scheduling the staff, etc, but needs to be a little bit more proactive in keeping the customer updated. Overall a very good experience.
